A/N: I just want to say this, I will be using game mechanics, features, and gimmicks from many different Pokemon games in this story. I will also use any Pokemon up to Gen 9 in this story. So it won't only be Gen 5 Pokemon and lower. There may be Pokemon from Alola, Galar, Kalos, Paldea, and Hisui. Maybe even Paradox Pokemon, I'm not sure about the last one.

eduardo.bettin26: Normally in any other story, I would have it so that they're learning more about the world as they journey. But I'm making this a little different. This isn't them going to another world for adventure. This is a story about them being sent on a mission to stop a disaster by a god.In that case, I feel like it would be better for them to have all the necessary information rather than learn it along the way. Since that mission is the main objective not the actual gym challenge. I let time continue because I plan to do small check-ins with the Louds. The reason I picked Unova is because that is my favorite region, game wise. I feel Sinnoh and Kalos have better characters, with Sinnoh having the better villains and rivals.

Chapter 2: Start of a New Day
It was a new day on route 1 and Sam had woken up not too long ago. After meeting their Pokemon yesterday, they just looked through their bags to see what else they had. Aside from the extra clothing, sleeping bags, and tents. They found a small bag of Pokemon food, a small supply of food, medicine for their Pokemon, and 10 pokeballs each. They also found their trainer licenses in their new wallets with the bank card.
Sam and Lucy return their Pokemon to their pokeballs very quickly. Sam couldn't stand Snivy's constant talking about clothing, fashion, and hairstyles. While Lucy couldn't stand Oshawott's bizarre posing and cringey talking.
"Hey Lincoln," Sam said in a groggy tone walking up to his tent. "I think it was just you who got the information on cooking-" she stopped upon looking into his tent. Inside Lincoln was still sleeping, with Tepig laying on his chest sleeping. Sam smiled at the scene, finding it to be adorable. She then pulled out her phone and took a picture.
"That's strange," Lucy said from behind Sam, scaring her. "I know Lincoln put Tepig back in her ball last night."
"It's just you Lucy," Sam said, calming down. "Please don't do that to me. When did you wake up?"
"Same time as you," Lucy replied in her monotone voice. "Sigh you just didn't notice me."
"Oh, sorry," Sam replied, embarrassed and a little ashamed for not noticing her.
"It's fine, it's normal," she told the teenager. "But more importantly, why did you take a picture and what were you saying about cooking?"
"How can you not expect me to take a picture after seeing that!" Sam defends herself, while pointing to the tent. "As for cooking, I don't think Arceus gave us all the same information. I wanted to make us something good like Lincoln did yesterday, but I got nothing. All I know is the same stuff from before we came here."
"I see," Lucy said while starting to think. "It's the same for me. I don't think I would be able to cook what he did."
"Why give information to only one of us?" Sam said while pondering the question. "Do you think that means you and I have information that only we know?"
"It's possible," Lucy replied. "But how do we figure that out?"
Before Sam could try to answer, they heard Lincoln's voice. "Tepig? What are you doing sleeping on me?" Soon Lincoln came out of his tent holding his starter.
"I just want to sleep with you!" Tepig said happily, nuzzling into him.
"But how did you get out of your pokeball?" Lincoln asked her.
"Some Pokemon can pop out of their pokeballs on their own," Lucy answered. Scaring Lincoln since he wasn't expecting her to be right outside his tent.
"Oh, it's just you Lucy," Lincoln said, after calming his heart. "However, is what you said true?"
"Yeah, didn't you know that?" The goth asked, confused.
"No," Lincoln replied surprised.
"I didn't know that either," Sam said to the goth.
"I guess this just proves what we were talking about," Lucy said to the blonde rocker.
"What are you two talking about?" Lincoln asked, looking between the two female trainers.
"We'll explain while we eat," Sam replied, before putting on a sheepish expression. "Would you mind cooking for us again? I know this sounds weird, but it will make sense once we explain."
"Okay…" Lincoln said in a confused voice, but put Tepig down to start cooking.
[Later]
They had just finished eating the breakfast that Lincoln had made. Lucy and Sam had just explained what they found earlier and they all started talking trying to figure out what they each knew. Sam had knowledge on Pokemon care, Pokemon medicine, and herbalism. Lucy had knowledge on the world's history, Pokemon history, and slightly more knowledge of Pokemon in general. Lincoln had knowledge in cooking, strategy, culture and customs of the world, and rules of the gym challenge.
"I finally got Tepig back in her pokeball," Lincoln said with a sigh.
"Here I thought you got the only Pokemon without a quirk," Lucy said with a small teasing smile. "Turns out Tepig is super clingy."
"I think it's cute," Sam said with a smile. "She wants to be around you all the time."
"I wouldn't mind it if she didn't cling to me while I was cooking," Lincoln groaned. The whole time he was cooking, Tepig was around him. He almost tripped a couple of times, because she would rub against his legs while he was walking.
"At least she doesn't want to change how you dress," Sam told him with a flat expression and tone.
"So what do we do next?" Lucy asked the two older trainers.
"One of us has to register for the gym challenge," Lincoln said, putting on a serious expression. "Since I have that information, I guess Arceus wants me to be that person. To register, I need to visit any pokecenter."
"The closest one is in Accumula Town," Lucy replied, looking at the map on her phone. "It's north of where we are."
"Great! What about you two? Are you guys planning on registering?" Lincoln asked them curiously.
"Sigh, I don't think I'm cut out for battling," Lucy replied.
"Sure, I'll register with you," Sam replied with a smile. "It's something completely different, so I might have fun."
"Then that means we'll both need more Pokemon for our team," Lincoln said with a smile.
"Sounds good, but where should we start?" Sam asked in a unsure tone.
"We could stay here on Route 1 another day," Lucy suggested. "You'll be able to catch at least one before going to Accumula Town."
"That's a good idea," Lincoln praised his little sister. "It will also give all of us a chance to get used to battling."
"But I said I wasn't going to register," Lucy said, confused.
"Even if you're not registering, you should know how to battle," Lincoln told her in a serious tone.
"He's right, what if we get separated and you get attacked by a wild Pokemon?" Sam said in a concerned voice.
"Sigh, I guess you're right," the goth said, agreeing with them.
They then hear some rustling from a nearby brush. Then a Purrloin walked out of the brush. When it saw them, it stopped and stared at them.
"That's a…" Sam started to say, searching for the Pokemon's name in her brain. Which was incredibly difficult since there were over a thousand of them.
"We should use our phones," Lucy suggested. All three pulled out their phones and pointed the camera at it.
Purrloin, the Devious Pokemon. Their cute act is a ruse. They trick people and steal their valuables just to see the looks on their faces.
"This is just Lola as a Pokemon," Lincoln said in a deadpan tone.
"I don't want that Pokemon," Lucy said.
"I think I'll pass on this one too," Sam said with a sigh.
"These chumps look stupid," Purrloin said to himself. The trainers glared at him, hearing what he was saying. "All I have to do is act all cute and-" he started walking closer to them, before Lincoln cut him off.
"Go away, we have nothing for you," Lincoln said in a dismissive tone, looking away from the Pokemon.
"Go and find some other "Stupid Chumps" to pester," Sam said in an annoyed tone.
Lucy said nothing and just looked away.
"Wait! You understand me?!" Purrloin shouted in shock. The trainers ignored him, only making him angrier. "Hey! Don't ignore me!" He shouted, only to continue to be ignored. "Fine! Then I'll take your things by force!"
Purrloin then charged at them with his claws glowing. Instinctively, the trio of trainers grabbed their pokeballs and sent out their Pokemon.
"Snivy, use Vine Whip," Sam said in a calm voice.
"Oshawott, use Water Gun," Lucy said, still not looking at Purrloin.
"Tepig, use- mrph," was all Lincoln could say before Tepig leaped and latched onto his face.
"Don't fear Mistress," Oshawott started saying, striking a pose as Purrloin got closer. "Your loyal servant will show this peasant why you shouldn't-". Before he could finish, Snivy used Vine Whip to grab Purrloin and tossed him into a tree.
"Ow! That hurt!" Purrloin said, getting up. Seeing he was outnumbered, he hissed at them while growling. "This isn't over! I'll get my revenge another day!" He then ran off.
"Why did it sound like a cartoon villain?" Lucy asked out loud, before she looked at her Pokemon. "First thing we need to work on is you monologuing. You need to stop doing that and actual battle."
"I'm sorry Mistress," Oshawott said in sadness with his head down. Lucy bent down and started patting his head, making him smile.
"You did a rockin' job Snivy," Sam praised with a smile.
"As if a brute like that would be a challenge for me," Snivy said looking proud. "Now about your clothing-".
"Snivy return," Sam quickly said, returning her Pokemon. "Should we have let it go?" Sam asked the others concerned.
"Tepig, you can't do that when it's time for a battle," Lincoln told his Pokemon, finally getting it off his face.
"But I missed you!" Tepig replied happily.
"We need to work on that," he said to himself, putting her in his lap before looking at the teenager. "I don't see the harm," he told her with a smile. "I mean realistically, what's it going to do? Follow us around until it gets its revenge? It will probably forget about us after it finds other people to trick."
"Besides, none of us wanted it in the first place," Lucy added.
"I guess you're right," Sam said, still looking concerned. "I just hope it will be okay."
"I think the only thing that was hurt was its pride," Lincoln said, trying to reassure and cheer her up.
"Thanks dude," she replied, giving him a grateful smile. "So, how should we go about catching Pokemon we actually want? Should we go together or on our own?"
"I want to say we do this together," Lincoln said, while thinking. "But what do you guys want to do?"
"I wouldn't mind going on my own," Lucy answered.
"I guess we should do it on our own," Sam replied, thinking of her answer. "I mean, I'm sure there are going to be times we're going to be separated."
"Alright then," Lincoln said standing up, holding Tepig. "Then I guess that's what we will do then. I'll go in this direction," he told them, pointing in a random direction.
"Should someone stay here to watch over things?" Lucy asked.
"I think things will be fine," Sam said, standing up as well. "However, we should take our bags and anything valuable. Just in case another Purrloin comes around."
"Sigh, very well," Lucy said, standing up and grabbing her bag. All three went off in different directions to search for their second Pokemon.
