Den, he got up early to buy some groceries for the house and now he was organizing them, his mother had not left her room for a long time, although she had told him that today would be a special day and that in the afternoon they would spend a lot of time together, which That made him a little excited, what would be so special today? It wasn't either of the two's birthdays or some special date, maybe they would finally move to the Rose Wall, which although he was excited about it, made him a little sad having to leave his friend and even more so because he knew there were boys who would love him. They intimidated although with the help of Mikasa and Eren, Armin was normally fine, but he couldn't say that he helped Armin much, when his inventions to defend his friend failed they both ended up beaten, but at least they didn't end up humiliated alone, Den blurted out a little mental laugh at the last thought.
Armin and he shared several things between them, their physical weakness, although they didn't go out to get into trouble and normally ignored the boys who tried to scare them, the reason why they tried to hit them was for Den completely stupid just because they talked about the outside world and its wonders, which their abusers didn't seem to like at all, for the people inside the walls saying things about the outside world seemed to be a serious offense or at least something very stupid, although he understood that the pain of losing people you loved because they made the decision to abandon peace and leave the walls was painful as in the case of his father would never agree with that false stability in which they lived and that if the resources ever ran out, there were few for those of Wall Maria? That reminded him of a conversation he had with his mother about how the walls worked.
Although the land survived thanks to the rains and the farmers in Muro Maria despite having an extensive land had the worst resources since almost everything was taken to the internal walls that could offer a better payment for those resources, with a high price that the inhabitants of Muro Maria could barely afford would make it impossible for them to advance and would continue in that cycle for a long time ...
Den came out of his cycle of thought when he saw a brown-haired man run with a black-haired girl behind him, whom he recognized as Eren and Mikasa, he felt the temptation to follow them, he saw the door to his mother's room still closed and made the decision to go out, talk to them for a few minutes and come back quickly, Den opened the door to his house and began to run in the direction he saw Eren and Mikasa do.
It didn't take long to find them and to his delight, together with Armin, they seemed to be talking about something while the Blond held his book tightly in his hands. When Den got close enough for the group to notice him, he gave them a happy greeting with his hand up.
—Hello! The boy practically shouted. Armin, Mikasa and Eren looked at him for a few seconds and stopped their conversation. When he was close enough, Den could see Armin clearly.
—Did they hit you again? He asked his friend bluntly.
Armin remained silent and seemed embarrassed by that. Even though Den could never beat the boys who were fighting them, he always showed resistance and a lot of character to defend himself, something he had never done. Not out of simple fear, for him it was not worth using violence against people who, due to their violent way of acting, seemed stupid...
—It says here that in the sea there could be creatures that breathe underwater called fish! —Armin said, reading his book with a cheerful voice while Den and Eren watched in fascination.
It had been a couple more minutes than Den should have been outside but he decided to stay a little longer to listen to the story of what had happened to his friends today.
Eren had been collecting firewood and then had an argument with his mother about joining the scouting troops, after being scolded he ran out and Mikasa had followed him, on his side Armin was simply reading his book until those bullies approached him.
—Hey Den, you promised that when my parents found out about my dream you would tell your mother that you will join the scouts.
Eren said remembering some of their old conversations.
—It's just not that easy, I'm sure she won't agree with that and by the way she said that today would be a special day.
Den said, he knew that his mother's answer would be negative and maybe he would even get angry, after all she asked him to have a peaceful life, although the idea of being a conformist in the walls did not please him at all.
—Hey Eren we should go back, Mrs. Carla must be worried.
Mikasa said in her usual serious tone, although Den had already gotten used to the way of being of each of the members of his small group of friends, Mikasa seemed like an interesting case after Eren told her the story of how he saved her and now they were something like brothers although in Eren's words she sometimes seems like his mother.
—I don't want to go back.
Eren said crossing his arms.
—Don't throw a tantrum. Ackerman added.
—If you hadn't told her all this would have happened.
Eren said.
—Come on, don't argue. Armin said to his friends, Den decided to ignore this exchange and concentrated on looking at the sky Beautiful as always and its blue tone seemed unreachable, the birds that flew over them so calmly and without walls to enclose them, when he decided that it was enough to talk for today he began to get up from the ground where he was sitting...
From one moment to another the birds began to speed up their flight, the wind began to be faster and a large yellow ray covered the sky, Den and the others looked at this in amazement, now the wind was much more aggressive so much that looking directly at the source of the chaos became somewhat difficult, little by little the wind calmed down and that yellow flash disappeared when it seemed that everything ended something never seen before happened a huge thing without skin observed over the walls, that thing of colossal size put its hands on the walls that thing looked at them for seconds although for them it seemed a long time.
The inhabitants of Shiganshina looked in horror at what they thought would never happen...
—A TITAN!
Den shouted, breaking the silence that had fallen over the city. Suddenly, that brief silence turned into chaos and more screams began to resonate.
Only when the people of Shiganshina seemed to react and the colossal titan decided to fulfill his mission and raised his foot to hit the city gate hard.
The force of the kick blew the gate completely apart, with no time for anything but running. Den snapped out of his daze and began to run at full speed home. Eren and Mikasa followed suit and it took Armin a little longer to react. When he got home, he saw the door open and just down the stairs was his mother with a worried face, although she seemed to calm down when she noticed him approaching.
"Den, where were you? You almost scared me to death." Ela said as she hugged her son.
"I was with Armin and Dr. Yeager's son." She said to try to calm her mother. She looked in front of her as little by little those humanoid creatures entered through the broken door, it took her a few minutes to realize that the huge titan had disappeared, that means that it was a shapeshifter now she went into a real panic and grabbed her son by the hand.
—We must go now.
She ordered Den who did not take a second to understand and they both started to run.
In the streets of the quiet town of Shiganshina everything changed now huge creatures entered, chaos took over everyone, the garrison people should not have taken long to act and they opened the door that connected Shiganshina with the wall Maria the people did not take long to run in to avoid a tragic fate.
While everyone focused on evacuating before the Titans got too close, the War Hammer began to act and ran into the city, although suddenly it stopped and looked around until it seemed to see its targets, again the huge Titan began to run but this time towards the door that connected to Wall Maria, where several garrison soldiers were preparing cannons, the white Titan ignored the people around him and went straight for the soldiers who seemed to panic and decided to start shooting but to everyone's surprise a glow began to form in the Titan's hands and suddenly a large Hammer came out of them.
With that weapon the titan blocked the attacks and then as if it were a golf game he hit hard the garrison soldiers who were there, after doing that he looked around again and began to run towards the other garrison soldiers who had cannons
Den looked in horror at the crushed organs of the soldiers and swore he was going to vomit they had had to stop their run towards the door because of the attack of the white titan.
—Den hurry up we go now or never.
Said Ela while the titan with the hammer walked away.
Den was in shock, but his mother had him by the arm only so when Ela started to run Den was practically dragged, to get through the door they had to walk on the blood that had been spilled by the military that were no longer in this world, finally their race ended when a garrison officer received them inside the evacuation ships, some people were already in them, Den watched in shock all this while he held on tightly to his mother some tears began to appear on his face.
Ela watched everything with much frustration and helplessness now what would they do? Her son today had to inherit the power no matter what, the thought that she had to abandon him with this problem on top of her she never knew what was happening could not prepare him, Damn why should they carry this weight for the sins of their ancestors their lives would never be normal and if tomorrow there was an attack on Wall Rose and she was not there to protect him, where should she leave Den?
It was just too much to process, she could only hold back her desire to cry and try to comfort her little son, while the sky began to turn colors more people boarded the ships, the silence and the awe were palpable although it seemed that nothing worse could happen but in the end it did, a titan covered in armor blocked the door that connected Wall Maria with the fallen district, this simply made everything worse now the titans could pass through the door to Wall Maria and so where were they hiding.
Chaos broke out on the ships, the doors were closed, in front of many people who did not manage to get on in time, the space was minimal, Den saw a mother begging for her children to get on but her request was rejected as some debris from the doors hit some passengers, the Titan with Armor observed the people on the ships as they now began to leave, some people who did not manage to get on the ship began to cry and the rudeness and curses were heard less each time the ships moved away...
A while later Den saw his Mother who had tears on her face while holding her bag tightly.
—Den you will have to take care of yourself now, I hope you don't hate me and remember everything I did for your son from now on your life will not be normal and you are destined to die for stupidity of the past, I-I just want you to live a good life, join the next generation of recruits and work to be in the top 10 join the military police and enjoy your life as much as possible, get a good wife and then... You will have to do the same as me, I hope and never lose your joy son.
Ela hugged her son tightly and her tears wet his shirt, Den looked at mother without understanding anything.
—Mom what are you talking about? It seems like you are saying goodbye, why.
The little brown-haired boy asked. Ela did not answer looking at the ground she took a syringe out of her bag.
—I hope you know that no matter what happens I will never stop loving you.
Without saying anything else she quickly injected the syringe into the boy's arm who let out a small cry...
The heat coursed through his entire body, and Den felt a throbbing pain spreading everywhere. He tried to speak, but for some reason, he could no longer control his body. His vision became increasingly blurry...
Den looked around and found himself in a strange blue place that felt completely different from the green, lively forest he had been in just moments ago. The ground had been replaced with what seemed to be sand, and the rest of the area was an empty void. There was no one and nothing in sight.
Panic began to set in as he stood up, glancing in every direction but finding nothing.
"Mom? Where am I?"
Den whispered, knowing there would be no answer. But to his surprise, unlike what he initially thought, he heard a faint, somewhat familiar voice behind him. He couldn't make out the first words.
"...Coordinate..."
When he turned, he saw what appeared to be a glowing blue tree with roots that reached out into the void. In the middle of it stood the silhouette of a girl and a tall boy, both seemingly watching him.
