Chapter 2: Bonding to Another World

In the cold vacuum of deep space, a red pirate ship-shaped spacecraft is seen sailing across the open void. This vehicle was equipped with numerous cannons on both sides, laser cannons on the wings, and a bladed bowsprit on the front. The sides and sails of this ship displayed an iconic skull and crossbones, a classic for normal pirates. However, those with high bounties wish that whoever was in this vessel were normal pirates. This ship is hailed by the universe renowned space pirate crew, Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. Their ship was dubbed the Gokai Galleon Mk II. Being rebuilt from the ground up after the original was destroyed.

Inside the main deck resided the six fabled pirates and their treasure navigating bird, Navi. Gai Ikari: the ecstatic silver human, Ahim de Famille: the graceful pink royal, Don Dogoier (aka Doc): the clumsy green engineer, Luka Millfy: the brash yellow treasure hunter, Joe Gibken: the stoic blue swordsman, and Captain Marvelous: The showy red leader. The crew was merely relaxing after a day of plundering and treasure seeking,.. well five of them were relaxing while Doc was making dinner by himself. But, not everyone was enjoying this relaxation. Despite the large bounties collected today, Marvelous sat in his captain's chair, looking more pissed off compared to his normal scowl.

The reason as to why? Every single leader of the past 49 Sentai had mysteriously lost their powers, including Marvelous. One day, he awoke to find his Ranger Key and Mobirate missing. Assuming that this was just some prank set by Luka or Gai, only to find that they were as lost as him. Their first instinct was to head back to Earth, if something important were to happen, it would be a safe bet to guess that it was on Earth. Upon arrival, they learned that all of the leaders had also lost their powers. From AkaRanger to BoonBoom Red, none of them had their powers with them. This struck a nerve with Marvelous, so much so that he would make finding them the highest priority for the Gokaigers, following every little lead and clue that they could find. The crew had been searching distant planets, finding ancient ruins, and plundering black market trades. Dozens of treasures have been found, but not a single trace of a ranger key.

"It's been a little over a month since our powers vanished. Even with the help of the Galactic Union Police and other Sentai teams, not even one ranger key has shown up."

It was obvious that the past month of nothing had been starting to get to him, and the other crew members could see it too. Now, to make things clear, Marvelous losing his powers didn't really hurt him that much. Sure, he wasn't as strong compared to when he did have powers. But even without the ability to transform, he was still a Sentai and a damn good pirate, pulling his own weight and keeping up with the others.

No, what really pissed him off the most was that all the other sentai leaders lost their powers too. The sentai powers being with their original owners was important to Marvelous because it was the last wish of his mentor, AkaRed. When the first 34 Sentai powers were lost after the Legend War, AkaRed traveled throughout the entire universe to retrieve them and return them to their rightful owners. This was how AkaRed and Marvelous first met, and how he took Marvelous under his wing and changed his life forever. AkaRed sacrificed his life to save Marvelous and the Ranger Keys. Because of that, Marvelous felt like he had a duty to uphold his dream. And now, that dream was in jeopardy once again. If only there was a single breadcrumb leading to the whereabouts of the Ranger Ke-

SURPRISE TREASURE NAVIGATE!

Speak of the devil.

Navi's eyes started glowing, then in an instant, began bouncing around the walls of the gallon at astonishing speeds, accidentally crashing and bouncing off some of the Gokaigers.

"Huh? Navi what's goin- Ouch!"

"Hey! Watch it Nav- Ugh!"

"AH! Don't hit the foo- Argh!"

"I got it Don-S- Kya!"

Joe managed to swat her away… before she got him on the rebound, "Gak!"

Correction, all of the Gokaigers.

Speeding towards Marvelous, he was able to catch her by the head before getting hit. But, her propulsion was strong enough to be pushing him back. With quick thinking, he rotated Navi upwards so she hit the metal support beams on the ceiling.

"CLANK!"

With stars surrounding her head, she slowly descends while slurring out the riddle, "A Big Bond Soul capable of reincarnation, a Busty Mage who grows more fond of the absurd, a reformed evil working with heroes to fight a greater one, finding them is the key to finding the keys."

Everyone's eyes shot wide at hearing the end of the riddle.

"Could this be? Our first clue to finding the missing ranger keys?" Doc said excitedly.

"Gai, analysis," Marvelous ordered quickly.

"On it!" He immediately sprung up from the ground and pulled out his Super Sentai Encyclopedia.

"Ok, Big Bond Souls sound like Go-Onger, but they never had anything to do with reincarnation. Busty Mage doesn't describe anything the Magirangers have faced. Past Sentais have fought some… finer-looking women *ahem*, but I don't think any of them would be classified as a mage. And dozens of the reformed villains in Sentai's history could fit that last description!"

Marvelous sighed, "At least it's a start. That ending definitely alluded to the Ranger Keys, so it means we're getting somewhere."

"I think we should put this on hold for tomorrow. For now, let us enjoy Doc's cooking!" Ahim chimed in.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

"AHHHHH! I FORGOT ABOUT THE OVEN!"

Later That Night

After preventing an almost ruined dinner, the Gokaigers had decided to call it a night and start the search tomorrow. Marvelous could finally now sleep easy, knowing that the first step towards finding all the keys was finally in his grasp. All there was to do was rest and prepare for tomorrow.

"Marvelous…"

At least he was trying until a voice appeared in his head. But, he decided to tune it out and continue sleeping.

"Marvelous…"

Alright then, since he clearly wasn't going to get any sleep until the voices stopped, he got up to deal with it. Only to immediately realize that he wasn't on the galleon anymore. His eyes were treated to a familiar white void.

"Alright weird ass dream/vision, what do you want to show me?" Marvelous cried out while looking around. Then a red blinding flash, and what appeared in front of him was the Gokai Red key. As he went to reach for it, the key floated away from his hand and flew away. Then, even more flashes surrounded the Gokai Red key. Once they dissipated, Marvelous looked back to see 50 Ranger keys. 49 of them were all the Sentai that lost their powers, and one more red key which then flew in front of him. It was the key of a person all too familiar to him.

"AkaRed?" The key then began to manifest a body, and soon the spirit of AkaRed was standing right in front of him.

"What is this all for?" Marvelous asked his mentor.

AkaRed replied, "It's to help you get to where you need to be."

"The hell does that mean?"

"It means that you won't find the Ranger Keys without it."

"What? We just got a clue from Navi and Gai is working on deciphering it. What do you mean we won't find it?"

"Because the Ranger Keys are not in this universe."

"How?"

"I don't know, perhaps someone stole them from this universe and brought them over to the other, or maybe something else entirely. The main point is that the only way to travel to the other universe is with this," AkaRed then proceeded to give Marvelous the AkaRed key.

"Using this will create a wormhole that will bond the universe that has the Ranger Keys and this one for a short moment. That is your chance. Once you use it, the key will shatter and reform on the other side. Find that key again along with the other 49 and you have your way home."

With the key in hand, Marvelous smirks, "Piece of cake then, just let me gather my crew and we'll be done in less than a wee-"

"It can only be you."

After a long pause, Marvelous speaks up, "The hell do you mean only me?"

"Marvelous, you do know what I am right?"

"Yeah, you're the physical manifestation of all Red Rangers."

"The powers of which are no longer here, meaning my powers are now very limited, I only have enough left to send one person over. So, who better than someone who helped me collect the Ranger Keys already."

Looking down at the key in his hand, Marvelous had a choice to make. "Alright then, just let me talk to my crew first." AkaRed gave him a nod and vanished along with the other Ranger Keys.

Then, Marvelous woke up in his captain's chair, now seeing that he had returned to the galleon, and with the AkaRed key in hand.

Morning

At the crack of dawn (or whatever time morning is in space), Marvelous woke up all of his crew members. All of them were expecting to start the search for the Ranger Keys, only for him to break the news and explain what AkaRed told him.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE GETTING ISEKAIED ALONE!" Gai shouted while grappling onto Marvelous's coat.

"Isekai?" the rest of the Gokaigers asked.

"It means to travel to a new world, most times being a fantasy world," Gai responded, "It's been a dream of mine to get to travel to a new world and do some fantasy shenanigans, second only to becoming a Sentai, and I already fulfilled that dream!"

"But, we've traveled to different planets almost daily," Joe replied bluntly.

"That's different!"

"Getting back on track here, AkaRed made it very clear to me that only I could go. I know that there are barely any times when we split up, but I think this is necessary."

As the others heard that information, they all replied with a simple "Ok."

"Ok?"

Ahim was the first to chime in, "Marvelous, although it may be a pain for you to go alone, if it is the only way, then so be it."

Luka was next, "We know how much this means to you, so go on! Head off to your own adventure. Just, uh, remember to bring back some shiny souvenirs right?" and winked.

"OH! You better tell me everything that happens in excruciating detail when you get back, don't leave anything out!" Gai jumped in.

"We'll handle the galleon back here," said Doc.

Joe then walks up to Marvelous and gives him two things, the Gokai Galleon Key, and his Mobirate.
"Just in case you don't find yours and wanna be a little extra showy."

Looking back at his crew, he felt a surge of pride through him. It was going to hurt, being in a new world without his crewmates. But, if they all believed in their captain this much, then it would be a shame to let them down.

Wiping the tear off his eye, Marvelous smiles and makes a decree to his crew, "Alright then, I promise you guys that the Gokaigers won't just be the most known pirates in this universe, but in both universes!" With cheers all around Marvelous uses the AkaRed key and opens the wormhole. As he does, the key shatters in his hands. With one last salute, he falls in. The Gokaigers without their captain, and Captain Marvelous without his crew. How will this story be unveiled?

Meanwhile

After the incident at the Port Mecamo which transformed Princess Teltina into a Demi-Human like form, as well as having her family turn on the party for mistaking her for a Demi-Human, while reuniting with their old ally from the Sun Forest, Raniya, aka Amen, the party finally manages to escape and make their way towards the Demi-Human Federation in search for the Professor who helped seal the Demon Queen 1000 years ago. Not only to ask to help defeat the Demons, but to help revert Teltina back to her original form. The five party members were heading there by sea. While passing the time, Red noticed something about Yihdra and was staring very intently. Yihdra, noticing this, decides to capitalize on this attraction.

"Oh, Red? See something you like?"

"Huh, no. I was just wondering why you're glowing red."

"Wait, I'm not blushing or something am I?!"

"No, the glow is coming from your pocket."

"Wait what?" Yihdra then pulls out the 3 key trinkets from her pocket.

"Wait, three? I thought you only had the one."

"Oh! Well about that… " an actual blush was starting to form on her, "Ok, don't get mad at me, but remember that Connor guy that had a giant toy collection and turned an entire city into a kiddy playland with a mana seed?"

"Pretty hard to forget that, but yeah."

"So, when we were in his toy room, I saw that there were these two on display. They looked pretty similar to mine, so I analyzed them and they had a similar power hidden inside of them just like mine! So, I may have swiped them from him when he wasn't looking," she explained with a guilty face.

Red gasped, "Yihdra Arvoln, how could you!"

"What?" she whined, "He had like over a hundred toys, he wouldn't have noticed me taking these two, and we know that these are not just toys. Besides, you would have blown up the room anywa- " Red silenced her by putting a finger to her mouth.

"That's not the point, the point is that you stole another man's prized possessions, a toy no less!" He chastises her while taking the trinkets from her hand.

"Along with Magi, I think I'll call you two Bugsy and Raptor Knight."

"No! Give them back!"

"Not until you learn the value of taking another person's toys!"

As this was going on, Teltina, Lowji, and Raniya were in the background munching on some fish while watching the show in front of them unfold.

"So, does this happen often?" Raniya asked.

"You have no idea," the other two responded in unison.

Also Meanwhile

"Professor Patchwork… that Red Fellow you mentioned has entered territorial waters, likely to make his way here soon."

"I see," he sighed, "I really don't want to see that guy."

"But that's not all Professor. A few moments ago, In the lab where the secret weapons are held, the key changers began glowing." The assistant then gave the Professor a tablet.

"Somebody better not have put something reactive near them."

"No, it's just that, right as they glowed, we picked up some interdimensional disturbances on the outskirts of the city," This suddenly interested the Professor. As he looked at the security cameras on the tablet, there lay a strange looking human dawning a red coat. A human in Demi-Human territory was strange enough, but something about him intrigued the professor.

"Should we send a team for pick a up?"

"No, leave him be, but keep any eyes on him, always. It's clear that this human and these keys have a connection."

The Professor switches cams to the room containing the glowing keys. 11 keys were there in total, arranged in a line. In the middle was a flip phone-like device and a Ranger Key containing the Gokaiger Crest.

"It seems that this is going to get even more interesting."

I went through three versions of this chapter and I still think I could improve on this chapter so expect an edited version in the future. I mainly wanted to get this done so I could get to the next chapter. I included that scene about Connor because It felt like an easy way to introduce more Ranger Keys, and I like writing Red and Yihdra.
