Mina's Trial (Part Six)
After Eddy got his Leafeon and his Vikavolt treated after their battle with Lana in the Lush Jungle, the group is currently walking up Wela Volcano Park where they will battle Kiawe for another petal and be one step closer to completing Mina's trial.
Moments later, they arrived on the top of Wela Volcano Park where Captain Kiawe was waiting for them.
"Alola, everyone." said Kiawe.
"Alola." replied the group.
"Since you're all here again, I can only assume you're doing Mina's trial." said Kiawe.
"You bet we are; I want to battle you first." replied Sarah, stepping forward.
"Someone's eager to battle." said Kiawe. "Very well; we will each use three Pokemon."
"Fine by me." replied Sarah.
"Go get him, Sarah." said Maxiley. Soon, Sarah and Kiawe were standing several yards from each other while the rest of the group watched; Sarah and Kiawe each pulled out a pokeball.
"Arcanine, go!" said Kiawe, throwing a pokeball and releasing an Arcanine.
"Alomomola, go!" said Sarah, throwing Alomomola's pokeball and releasing her. Arcanine growls at Alomomola, making her nervous, and lowering her attack strength.
"My Arcanine has the Intimidate ability, so your Alomomola's attack strength is weakened." said Kiawe.
"Won't stop us." said Sarah.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kiawe. Arcanine charges at Alomomola with incredible speed and rams her, knocking her back.
"Alomomola, use Water Pulse!" said Sarah. Alomomola forms a ball of blue water in front of her mouth, and she launches it at Arcanine, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; Arcanine begins stumbling around.
"Arcanine's confused." said Edd.
"Arcanine, use Crunch!" said Kiawe. Arcanine fights through its confusion and pounces at Alomomola; it bites her, dealing damage, and weakening her special defense.
"Alomomola, use Brine!" said Sarah. Alomomola releases a stream of water from her mouth, and it hits Arcanine, dealing super effective damage.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kiawe. Arcanine fights through its confusion and charges at Alomomola with incredible speed.
"Use Protect!" said Sarah. A green barrier forms around Alomomola; Arcanine crashes into it, protecting Alomomola. "Use Water Pulse!" Alomomola launches another blue ball of water at Arcanine, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Arcanine, use Crunch!" said Kiawe. Unfortunately, confusion gets the better of it, and it bites its own leg, dealing damage to itself.
"Aqua Jet!" said Sarah. Alomomola becomes surrounded by water and she flies at Arcanine, ramming it, and dealing super effective damage; it falls to the ground, unconscious.
"Yay, Sarah!" said Ed.
"You go, girl!" said Jimmy. Kiawe returns Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You did well, Arcanine." said Kiawe. He puts Arcanine's pokeball away and pulls out another pokeball. "Talonflame, go!" He throws the pokeball and releases a large, birdlike Pokemon with reddish orange feathers covering its head, chest, and wings and a gray underside, and black tail feathers with yellow stripes. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Talonflame, the Scorching Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Fletchling. Bird Pokémon make up most of its diet. It approaches at high speeds and smacks them down to the ground with its powerful kick." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Talonflame, Quick Attack!" said Kiawe.
"Alomomola, Aqua Jet!" said Sarah. Talonflame flies at Alomomola with incredible speed while Alomomola becomes surrounded by water and flies at Talonflame; they crash against each other, dealing super effective damage to Talonflame and damage to Alomomola. She becomes covered in flames.
"Talonflame has the Flame Body ability." said Kiawe. Alomomola flinches in pain from her burn, and she collapses.
"Don't give up, Sarah!" said Ed.
"You can do this!" said Eddy. Sarah returns Alomomola to her pokeball.
"You did great, Alomomola." said Sarah. She puts Alomomola's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Jolteon, go!" She throws Jolteon's pokeball and releases her. "Jolteon, Thunder Shock!" Jolteon releases electricity from her body and it hits Talonflame, dealing super effective damage to it; static surrounds its body and it begins twitching.
"Now Talonflame's paralyzed." said Edd. "I belive Sarah is avoiding using physical attacks to avoid Flame Body; ingenious strategy. Sarah's come a long way as a trainer."
"Let's see how far she's gotten." said Kiawe. "Talonflame, Flame Charge!" Talonflame fights through its paralysis and becomes surrounded by fire; it flies at Jolteon and rams her, knocking her back; energy surges through Talonflame's body.
"Oh my; Flame Charge increases the speed of the Pokemon that used it." said Edd.
"Jolteon, Discharge!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases multiple bolts of electricity from her body, and they hit Talonflame, dealing super effective damage.
"Talonflame, Razor Wind!" said Kiawe. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Talonflame from attacking.
"Jolteon, Thunder Shock!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases electricity from her body and it hits Talonflame, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"You're doing great, Sarah!" said Eddy.
"Just one more to go!" said Maxiley. Kiawe returns Talonflame to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Talonflame." said Kiawe. He puts Talonflame's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing well so far, Sarah; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon. Marowak, go!" He throws a pokeball and releases an Alolan Marowak.
"Jolteon, Thunder Fang!" said Sarah. Jolteon charges at Marowak while electricity covered her fangs and she bites Marowak, damaging it. Marowak begins twitching and static covered its body. "Ha ha; Marowak's paralyzed." A purple aura surrounds Marowak's body, then Jolteon's.
"Marowak has the Cursed Body ability; now Jolteon won't be able to use Thunder Fang for a while." said Kiawe.
"Oh my." said Edd.
"Marowak, Bonmerang!" said Kiawe. Marowak fights through its paralysis and throws its bone at Jolteon. The bone hits Jolteon, dealing super effective damage; it comes back around and hits Jolteon again, dealing super effective damage. The bone returns to Marowak's hand.
"Jolteon, Discharge!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases bolts of electricity from her body and they hit Marowak, dealing damage.
"Marowak, Ghost Bone!" said Kiawe. Marowak fights through its paralysis and beings spinning its bone around; purple flames form on the ends of it and Marowak strikes Jolteon with it, knocking her out.
"Don't give up, Sarah!" said Jimmy.
"We believe in you!" said Edd. Sarah returns Jolteon to its pokeball.
"You did great, Jolteon." said Sarah. She puts Jolteon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Mrs. Mime, go!" She throws Mrs. Mime's pokeball and releases her.
"But Mrs. Mime's part psychic; ghost Pokemon like Marowak have the advantage." said Edd.
"Mrs. Mime, use Mimic!" said Sarah. A long bone like Marowak's appears in Mrs. Mime's hands; she twirls it around, forming purple flames on the ends of it. Mrs. Mime strikes Marowak with it, dealing super effective damage to it and lowering its defense.
"I see; Marowak has used moves so far that would be very effective against itself, so Sarah plans on using Mimic to copy those moves." said Edd. "Shadow Bone also lowers the defense of the Pokemon it's used on." A purple aura surrounds Mrs. Mime. "Oh dear; Marowak's Cursed Body activated, so Mrs. Mime can't use Mimic."
"Marowak, Shadow Bone!" said Kiawe. Marowak spins its bone and swings it at Mrs. Mime.
"Reflect!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime holds out her hands and a transparent square appears in front of her, raising her defense; Marowak's bone hits Mrs. Mime, dealing super effective damage to Mrs. Mime, but not as much due to her increased defense.
"Use Psybeam!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime fires a multicolored beam of energy from her hands, and it hits Marowak, dealing damage.
"Flame Wheel!" said Kiawe. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Marowak from attacking.
"Use Psychic!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime's eyes and hands glowed light blue; Marowak gets lifted up off the ground and gets slammed onto it, knocking it out.
"Sarah did it!" said Ed.
"Way to go!" said Eddy.
"I knew she could do it." said Jimmy. Kiawe returns Marowak to its pokeball.
"You did well, Marowak." said Kiawe. He puts Marowak's pokeball away and walks to Sarah. "That was a good battle, Sarah."
"Thanks, Kiawe." said Sarah. Kiawe reaches into his pocket and pulls out a red flower petal, along with pokedollars.
"Here, Sarah; you've earned these." said Kiawe; Sarah takes them. Kiawe turned towards the rest of the group. "Which of you will be battling me next?"
"I will." said Jimmy, stepping forward. Kiawe takes out a Ride Pager and uses it to summon a Ride Charizard.
"As soon as I get my Pokemon treated, we shall have our battle." said Kiawe. He climbs onto the Ride Charizard and flies off. Jimmy goes over what he saw from Sarah's battle and figures out which Pokemon he'll use.
Twenty minutes later, Kiawe returns, and Jimmy gets ready for his battle.
"Are you prepared?" asked Kiawe.
"Bring it on." said Jimmy. Kiawe smiles as he and Jimmy each pull a pokeball off their waists. Kiawe throws his, releasing his Arcanine; while Jimmy throws his, releasing his Wishiwashi who turns into his School Form. Kiawe's Arcanine growls fiercely, scaring Wishiwashi and lowering his attack power.
"Man, that Intimidate ability is a pain to deal with." said Eddy.
"Arcanine, use Extreme Speed!" said Kiawe. Arcanine rockets towards Wishiwashi with incredible speed and slams into him.
"Wishiwashi, use Dive!" said Jimmy. The ground beneath Wishiwashi turns to water and he dives into it.
"Arcanine, use Howl!" said Kiawe. Arcanine lets out a loud howl that psyches itself up and increases its attack power. Wishiwashi shoots up to the surface and slams into Arcanine's belly, dealing super effective damage. "Arcanine, use Crunch!" Arcanine bites down onto Wishiwashi, dealing damage, and lowering his defense; Wishiwashi returns to his Solo Form.
"Wishiwashi, use Brine!" said Jimmy. Wishiwashi releases a blast of water from his mouth that hits Arcanine, dealing super effective damage.
"Arcanine, Extreme Speed!" said Kiawe. Arcanine rockets towards Wishiwashi again and slams into him, doing enough damage to knock him out.
"Wishiwashi!" said Ed.
"Don't worry, Ed." said Edd. "Wishiwashi will be just fine."
"Jimmy can still win this." said Sarah. Jimmy returns his Wishiwashi to his pokeball.
"You did your best, Wishiwashi." said Jimmy. He puts Wishiwashi's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Lycanroc.
"Get him, Jimmy!" said Eddy.
"Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc leaps towards Arcanine at great speed while surrounded by white streaks of energy and slams into it, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Nice one, Jimmy!" said Maxiley.
"Keep it up, Jimmy!" said Edd. Kiawe returns his Arcanine to its pokeball.
"You battled well, my friend." said Kiawe. He puts Arcanine's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Talonflame.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc summons a bunch of large rocks that pile onto Talonflame, dealing a large amount of super effective damage due to it being a combination of two types of Pokemon that are vulnerable to rock type moves, along with lowering its speed.
"Talonflame, use Brave Bird!" said Kiawe. Talonflames dives up into the sky as a blue aura covers its body; it comes crashing down onto Lycanroc, not doing much damage, and causing him to take some due to the recoil of its attack.
"That hurt Talonflame more than it did Lycanroc!" said Eddy.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Slide!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc releases a shower of large rocks onto Talonflame, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Keep it up, Jimmy!" said Maxiley.
"One more to go!" said Eddy. Kiawe returns his Talonflame to its pokeball.
"You fought bravely, Talonflame." said Kiawe. He puts Talonflame's pokeball back on his waist and pulls his last one off; he tosses it, releasing his Alolan Marowak.
"Lycanroc, use Crunch!" said Jimmy. His Lycanroc moves towards Alolan Marowak and bites down hard onto it, dealing super effective damage, and lowers its defense; Lycanroc's body becomes covered in a dark aura.
"Cursed Body has disabled Crunch." said Kiawe. "Marowak, use Bonemerang!" His Alolan Marowak hurls its bone at Lycanroc and hits him, dealing super effective damage; the bone comes back and hits him again, dealing more super effective damage.
"Lycanroc, use Stone Edge!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc thrusts his front paws into the surface beneath him, causing large, pointed rocks to come out towards the Alolan Marowak, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Marowak, use Bonemerang!" said Kiawe. His Alolan Marowak hurls its bone at Lycanroc again.
"Lycanroc, dodge and use Accelerock!" said Jimmy. Lycanroc jumps over the bone and rushes at the Alolan Marowak at high speed, slamming into it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Jimmy won!" said Ed.
"Spectacular." said Edd.
"Lycanroc rocked!" said Eddy.
"That was awesome!" said Maxiley. Kiawe returns his Alolan Marowak to its pokeball.
"You battled well, my friend." said Kiawe. He puts his Alolan Marowak's pokeball back on his waist and walks over to Jimmy. "Your Lycanroc was quite powerful."
"All my Pokemon are strong." said Jimmy. Kiawe smiles before he hands Jimmy a red petal and pokedollars.
"Who will I be battling next?" asked Kiawe.
"Me!" shouts Ed as he runs forward and stands where Jimmy and Sarah did in their battles.
"Once my Pokemon are healed, I will return for our battle." said Kiawe.
"Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy." said Ed as he jumps up and down in anticipation.
Sarah and Jimmy have defeated Kiawe. Now the Eds will test their skills against him. Will they win? Wait and find out.
