Vast Poni Canyon Trial (Part One)
The group continue on through Vast Poni Canyon on their way to where their next trial awaits them; as they did, they encountered several trainers, some who overestimated themselves when they challenged the Eds, which resulted in them second guessing challenging them. With each battle, the group's Pokemon got stronger.
Ed's Decidueye learned Brave Bird, his Gigalith learned Explosion, much to his displeasure, and his Dewgong learned Ice Beam.
Edd's Primarina learned Hydro Pump, and his Toucannon, Magnezone, Espeon, Stoutland and Ariados got stronger.
Eddy's Incineroar learned Flare Blitz, his Poliwrath learned Circle Throw, and his Vikavolt, Leafeon, Persian, and Noivern got stronger.
Sarah's Alomomola learned Helping Hand and her Salazzle learned Venom Drench.
Jimmy's Lucario learned Meteor Mash, his Raichu, Butterfree, Umbreon, and Lycanroc got stronger, and his Wishiwashi learned Hydro Pump
Maxiley's Trevenant learned Horn Leech, his Xatu learned Power Swap and Guard Swap, and his Turtonator learned Explosion, much to his displeasure due to Ed's dislike of that move.
Right now, Maxiley was currently facing another trainer.
"Magmar, go!" shouts the trainer, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Magmar.
"Go, Pupitar!" said Maxiley, throwing Pupitar's pokeball and releasing him. "Okay, Pupitar, use Earthquake!" Pupitar slams onto the ground, creating an earthquake that knocks Magmar off its feet, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Magmar, use Brick Break!" said Magmar's trainer. Magmar runs at Pupitar and karate chops him, dealing super effective damage.
"Pupitar, use Rock Slide!" said Maxiley. White sparkles appeared above Pupitar and they turn into gray rocks; he launches them at Magmar and they hit it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"You did it, Maxiley!" said Sarah.
"Never doubted ya." said Eddy.
"Great job, Pupitar." said Maxiley. Pupitar had a joyful look in his eyes when he suddenly freezes up. "You okay, Pupitar?" Pupitar suddenly began to glow.
"Maxiley! Pupitar's evolving!" said Edd. Maxiley watched in awe as Pupitar began to grow and change shape. When the glowing stopped, Pupitar now resembled a bipedal dinosaur with an olive green body and a light purple, diamond shaped patch of scales on his belly. The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of Maxiley's newly evolved Pupitar.
"Tyranitar, the Armor Pokemon and the final evolved form of Larvitar. This Pokémon is a mobile disaster, leaving mountains crumbled and houses destroyed in its wake." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"And according to this, your Tyranitar now knows Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, and Fire Fang; he also now has the Sand Stream ability which makes sandstorms appear when he enters a battle." said Edd. Maxiley walked to Tyranitar; tears formed in his eyes and he hugs Tyranitar.
"I'm so glad you finally evolved, Tyranitar!" said Maxiley. Tyranitar smiles in response.
"Congratulations, Maxiley." said Jimmy.
"I'm so happy for you, Maxie." said Sarah.
"Tyranitar looks so cool!" said Ed. "Just like the one in that movie we saw in Sinnoh."
"You mean that 'Attack of the Fifty Foot Tyranitar' movie, Ed?" asked Eddy.
"Yep." replied Ed. Magmar's trainer returns Magmar to its pokeball; he gives Maxiley pokedollars and walks away. Maxiley decides to leave Tyranitar out of his pokeball for now and the group and Tyranitar continued going through Vast Poni Canyon. Moments later, they arrived to the entrance where the trial is.
"Well, here we are." said Edd. "So, who's going first?"
"I will!" replied Sarah, stepping forward.
"Very well, Sarah; good luck." said Edd.
"With Sarah's skills, why would she need dumb luck?" asked Maxiley, making Sarah smile. She walks through the entrance; the Rotom Pokedex follows after her. Sarah and the Rotom Pokdex are going through a tunnel; Sarah sees a stone tablet with writing on it; she begins to read it.
"Ahead lies a sacred ground of trials; none who do not take part of its trials will be allowed to walk upon this earth. Those lacking the courage to defeat the totem guarding this land will be denied entry." said Sarah as she read the tablet. "But those who believe in their Pokemon and walk beside them shall gain great power." A look of determination appears on her face and she continues walking down the tunnel; as she does, she hears something approaching her; she looks to see a Jangmo-o running at her.
"Oh, you want to battle, huh?!" asked Sarah, pulling out a pokeball. "Ledian, go!" She throws Ledian's pokeball and releases her. Ledian and Jangmo-o face each other. "Ledian, Mach Punch!" Ledian flies at Jangmo-o while her fist glows light blue and she punches Jangmo-o, damaging it. Jangmo-o runs at Ledian and rams its head into her.
"Oh yeah?! Ledian, Comet Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Jangmo-o and repeatedly punches it, knocking it to the ground, unconscious. "Serve you right, Jangmo-o." She returns Ledian to her pokeball; as she does, she sees a TM on the ground nearby. She picks it up and reads it. "Dragon Claw; I wonder if Maxie would like this." She puts the TM in her backpack and continues walking down the tunnel. As she does, a bipedal, light gray, dragonlike Pokemon with dark gray arms and legs, and a large yellow scale on its head appears out of nowhere and lands in front of Sarah. The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Hakamo-o, the Scaly Pokemon and the evolved form of Jangmo-o. The scales it sheds can be molded and processed to make pots and pans. They conduct heat well, so they're a popular item." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Says here you're part fighting." said Sarah. She pulls out a pokeball. "Ledian, go!" She throws Ledian's pokeball and releases her. "Ledian, use Air Slash!" Ledian flaps her wings and releases circular blades of energy from them at Hakamo-o, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage. The Hakamo-o runs at Ledian while its hand glows light blue and it uppercuts Ledian, but not doing much damage.
"Oh yeah?! Ledian, Mach Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Hakamo-o while her fist glowed light blue and punches it, knocking it back. Hakamo-o charges at Ledian and rams her, knocking her back. "Ledian, use Double Edge!" Ledian flies at Hakamo-o and rams it, knocking it out; Ledian winces in pain from the recoil damage of Double Edge. "Sorry, Ledian; you can rest now; I'll use a different Pokemon next time." Ledian nods before Sarah returns her to her pokeball. She continues walking down the tunnel; she suddenly sees a pedestal that had a bluish-green Z Crystal on it.
"A Z Crystal!" said Sarah. She runs to it and pulls the Z Crystal off it; when she does, a large, bipedal, light gray, scaly Pokemon with yellow and orange markings, and a tail with several yellow scales on the end of it; it lets out a loud roar. The Rotom Pokedex floats in front of the Pokemon.
"Kommo-o, the Scaly Pokemon and the final evolved form of Jangmo-o. It battles valiantly with its fists, which are armored in steel scales. Kommo-o specializes in uppercuts." said the Rotom Pokedex. An aura flares around Kommo-o's body.
"I think I found the Totem Pokemon." said Sarah. She pulls out a pokeball. "Well, I'm not scared of it; Mrs Mime, go!" She throws Mrs Mime's pokeball and releases her. Kommo-o charges at Mrs Mime while its hand becomes surrounded by electricity and punches Mrs Mime with it, damaging her.
"Mrs Mime, Psybeam!" said Sarah. Mrs Mime fires a mulitcolored beam of energy from her hands and it hits Kommo-o, dealing more damage than it normally would due to the Odd Incense Mrs Mime was holding powering up her psychic type moves. Kommo-o charges at Mrs Mime while its claws glowed purple and jabs Mrs Mime with them, dealing super effective damage to her.
"Mrs Mime, Psywave!" said Sarah. Mrs Mime releases light blue rings of energy from her hands and they hit Kommo-o, dealing super effective damage. Kommo-o charges at Mrs Mime and rams its head against her, knocking her back, and making her flinch. Kommo-o uppercuts Mrs Mime, but not doing much damage to her.
"Mrs Mime, use Psychic!" said Sarah. Mrs Mime's eyes and hands glowed light blue; Kommo-o becomes surrounded by light blue energy and it gets lifted up, then gets slammed onto the ground, receiving super effective damage and knocking it out. "We did it, Mrs Mime!" She runs to Mrs Mime and hugs her, who hugs her back.
Moments later, Sarah walks out of the tunnel and back to the others.
"How did it go, baby sister?" asked Ed. Sarah smiles and holds out the Z-Crystal.
"Congratulations, Sarah." said Edd. Sarah walks to Maxiley while pulling out the Dragon Claw TM.
"Here, Maxie; this TM has the move, Dragon Claw." said Sarah, holding out the TM. "Found it in the tunnel; thought you should have it, a little gift for your Pupitar evolving."
"Thanks, Sarah." said Maxiley, taking the TM. "I'll teach it to Tyranitar." Jimmy steps toward the trial tunnel.
"I'm next." said Jimmy.
Jimmy goes down the path until he comes across Jangmo-o; he takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing his Raichu.
"Raichu, use Psychic!" said Jimmy. Raichu's eyes glowed blue, then he uses his psychic powers to lift the Jangmo-o up and slams it to the ground; it reacts by slashing Raichu with its front claws. "Raichu, use Quick Attack!" Raichu quickly moves at the Jangmo-o and rams it, sending it flying into a cavern wall where it passes out.
Once the battle was done, he returns his Raichu to his pokeball and continues down the tunnel until he comes across the Hakamo-o, making him let out his Butterfree.
"Butterfree, use Psybeam!" said Jimmy. HIs Butterfree releases a beam of psychic energy that hits the Hakamo-o, doing super effective damage; it responds by ramming Butterfree with its head, doing damage, and making him flinch; the Hakamo-o follows up by slashing Butterfree with its claws. "Butterfree, use Air Slash!" Butterfree flaps his wings, releasing a blade of wind that hits Hakamo-o, damaging it enough to knock it out.
"Good work, Butterfree." said Jimmy, making his Pokemon fly around with delight before he gets returned to his pokeball.
Jimmy soon reaches the pedestal and grabs the Z-Crystal off it; as soon as he does, the Totem Kommo-o comes stomping out. He decides to let Raichu back out.
"Raichu, use Psychic!" said Jimmy. Raichu uses his psychic powers to lift up the opposing Pokemon and slams it hard to the cavern floor, dealing super effective damage; it reacts by swinging its tail at Raichu, hitting it, and somehow making him return to his pokeball and his Lucario comes out.
"That must've been Dragon Tail!" said Edd.
"What's that?" asked Eddy.
"It's a dragon type move that forces the opponent it hits to return to its pokeball while forcing another of a trainer's Pokemon out." said Edd.
"Jimmy better do something!" said Sarah.
"We won't back down!" said Jimmy. "Lucario, use Swords Dance!" Lucario then does some arm movements, increasing his attack power. The Kommo-o reacts by unleashing a devestating uppercut that hits Lucario, dealing super effective damage. "Lucario, use Counter!" Lucario does a backflip while in mid-air and lands a devestating kick under the Kommo-o' chin and sends it flying up to the cavern's ceiling, then falls back down unconscious.
"Jimmy did it!" said Ed.
Jimmy returns to his friends who all congratulate him on his success.
"So who's next?" asked Eddy.
"Me!" said Ed.
Sarah and Jimmy have obtained new Z-Crystals. Will the Eds do the same? Wait and find out.
