Mina's Trial (Part Two)
At Captain Mina's house, the Eds, Sarah, and Jimmy each looked at their pink flower petal they won from Mina after defeating her.
"Does this mean we passed our trial?" asked Sarah.
"Not yet; you still have to go to some of the other Trial Captains and battle them to win petals from them and then you'll pass my trial and earn Fairium-Z Crystals." said Mina.
"Which captains do we have to battle?" asked Eddy.
"First, Captain Ilima at the Hau'oli Cemetery, then Captain Lana at the Lush Jungle where you'll win a petal from both her and Captain Mallow." said Mina.
"Mallow?" replied Ed, smiling, making Sarah and Jimmy giggle.
"Then you'll face Captain Kiawe at Wela Volcano Park, and finally, Captain Acerola at the Aether House; defeat those Trial Captains and win their flower petals, then bring them all to me." said Captain Mina.
"It will be a splendid opportunity to revisit all the islands and see everyone again." said Edd.
"And see all our adoring fans here!" said Eddy.
"You mean like Tanya?" asked Edd.
"Exactly!" said Eddy with a blush on his face. The group exit Mina's house and use their Ride Pagers to call for a few Charizards and ride them to Melemele Island; they soon arrive in Hau'oli City.
"It seems just like yesterday we arrived here the day we arrived in Alola." said Edd, looking around.
"Yeah; I remember everyone who wanted our autographs; this is also where Tanya first kissed me." said Eddy. "So, Double D; where's this cemetery?" Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and puts up the map of Melemele Island.
"I believe it's east of Route 2." said Edd.
"Sweet; let's get going." said Eddy. The group began walking through Hau'oli City until they reached Route 2; moments later, they arrived at a cemetery. Jimmy looks around and saw Captain Ilima.
"There's Captain Ilima." said Jimmy; the group walks over to him.
"Alola, everyone; I assume you're all here for Mina's trial." said Captain Ilima.
"You bet we are." said Ed.
"I'm looking forward to see how strong you've all gotten since we last saw each other." said Captain Ilima. "By the way, Eddy; do you by any chance have an older brother?"
"Yeah, why?" asked Eddy.
"He took my island trial a while back." replied Ilima.
"Did he pass?" asked Eddy.
"It took him three tries, but he was able to." replied Ilima. "Also, a Yungoos bit him in the rear." The group chuckles in response. "So, which of you is going to battle me first?"
"I will, I will!" said Sarah.
"Very well." said Captain Ilima. Moments later, Sarah and Captain Ilima were standing several feet from each other. "We will each use three Pokemon, Sarah."
"Okay." said Sarah. She and Captain Ilima each pull out a pokeball.
"Gumshoos, go!" said Captain Ilima, throwing a pokeball and releasing a Gumshoos.
"Go, Ledian!" said Sarah, throwing Ledian's pokeball and releasing her. "Ledian, use Mach Punch!" Ledian flies at Gumshoos while her fist glows light blue and she punches Gumshoos with it, dealing super effective damage to it.
"Gumshoos, Hyper Fang!" said Captain Ilima. Gumshoos charges at Ledian while opening its mouth wide.
"Reflect!" said Sarah. A transparent wall forms in front of Ledian; Gumshoos bites into it, some of the force of the attack hits Ledian, knocking her back. "Now use Silver Wind!" A gust of wind with silver sparkles comes out of Ledian's wings and it hits Gumshoos, dealing damage.
"Gumshoos, Crunch!" said Captain Ilima. Gumshoos runs at Ledian and bites her, but not doing much damage due to her defense being increased, but Ledian's defense lowers.
"Use Swift!" said Sarah. Ledian releases stars from her body and they hit Gumshoos, knocking it out.
"All right, Sarah!" said Maxiley. Captain Ilima returns Gumshoos to its pokeball.
"You did well, Gumshoos." said Captain Ilima. "I must say, Sarah; you've definitely gotten a lot stronger since the first time we battled." He puts Gumshoos pokeball away and pulls out another. "I'm sure you remember this Pokemon; Smeargle, go!" He tosses Smeargle's pokeball and releases it.
"And I'm sure you remember this move; Mach Punch!" said Sarah. Ledian flies at Smeargle and punches it, dealing super effective damage.
"Well, this move of Smeargle's should be new to you; Flamethrower!" said Captain Ilima. Smeargle releases a stream of fire out of its mouth at Ledian.
"Light Screen!" said Sarah. Four transparent squares form in front of Ledian; Flamethrower hits them, taking some of the damage, but still doing super effective damage to Ledian.
"Air Slash!" said Sarah. Light blue energy blades come out of Leidan's wings, and they hit Smeargle, dealing damage.
"Extreme Speed!" said Captain Ilima. A white aura surrounds Smeargle and it charges at Ledian with incredible speed and rams her, but not dealing much damage, and knocking her to the ground; as she tries to get up, a light green aura surrounds her.
"That's Ledain's Swarm ability." said Edd.
"Ledian, use Bug Buzz!" said Sarah. Ledian lets out a yell and releases red soundwaves from her mouth and they hit Smeargle, hitting it, and knocking it out.
"That was great!" said Jimmy.
"Great work, Ledian." said Sarah. Captain Ilima returns Smeargle to its pokeball.
"You did great work too, Smeargle." said Captain Ilima. He puts Smeargle's pokeball away and pulls out another. "You're doing quite well, Sarah; but you still have one more Pokemon to beat. Komala, go!" He tosses a pokeball and releases a koala bear-like Pokemon that was holding a log.
"What's that?" asked Jimmy. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Komala, the Drowsing Pokemon. It remains asleep from birth to death as a result of the sedative properties of the leaves that form its diet." said the Rotom Pokedex. Everyone notices Komala is sleeping.
"Aw, it must be Komala's naptime." said Ed.
"It's not going to do much if it's sleeping." said Eddy.
"Komala, use Sucker Punch!" said Captain Ilima. Komala jumps at Ledian and punches her, knocking her out.
"Whoa; it can attack while it's sleeping?!" said Eddy.
"It's always sleeping thanks to his Comatose ability." said Captain Ilima. Sarah returns Ledian to her pokeball.
"You were amazing out there, Ledian." said Sarah. She puts Ledian's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Alomomola!" She throws Alomomola's pokeball and releases her. "Use Wake-Up Slap!" Alomomola leaps at Komala and strikes it with her tail, dealing super effective damage. Everyone notices Komala was still sleeping.
"I guess even that won't wake Komala up." said Maxiley.
"Komala, use Slam!" said Captain Ilima. Komala leaps at Alomomola and hits her with its log.
"Use Water Pulse!" said Sarah. A ball of blue water forms in front of Alomomola and she launches it at Komala, hitting it, and dealing damage. Captain Ilima holds up an arm, showing his Z-Ring that had a Normalium-Z Crystal on it.
"Oh boy, I know what he's up to." said Eddy. Captain Ilima does the poses needed for Normalium Z; Captain Ilima begins surging with energy and it transfers to Komala, making the Z-Power symbol appear in front of it.
"Okay, Komala; Breakneck Blitz!" said Captain Ilima. Komala charges at Alomomola with incredible speed and rams her, dealing damage, and knocking her to the ground; she gets back up.
"Alomomola, use Brine!" said Sarah. Alomomola releases a strong stream of water from her mouth, and it hits Komala, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Sarah did it!" cheered Ed.
"I knew she would!" said Maxiley. Captain Ilima returns Komala to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Komala." said Captain Ilima. He puts Komala's pokeball away and walks over to Sarah. "You did an excellent job training your Pokemon, Sarah."
"Thanks." replied Sarah. Captain Ilima reaches into his pocket and pulls out an orange flower petal and pokedollars; he gives them to Sarah. Captain Ilima looks at the rest of the group.
"Which of you will face me next?" asked Captain Ilima.
"I will." said Jimmy as he steps forward.
"Very well." said Captain Ilima. "We shall have our battle after I get my Pokemon treated."
"Okay." said Jimmy. Captain Ilima goes to the Pokemon Center while Jimmy picks what Pokemon he was going to battle with.
Twenty minutes later, Captain Ilima returns, and he and Jimmy face each other.
"Are you ready for our battle to begin?" asked Ilima.
"You bet." said Jimmy. He and Ilima each pull a pokeball off their waists; Ilima throws his, releasing his Gumshoos, and Jimmy throws his, releasing his Lucario.
"Clever." said Edd. "Lucario has the advantages of offense and defense against Ilima's Pokemon.
"Lucario, use Power-Up Punch!" said Jimmy. His Lucario runs at Gumshoos and punches it across the face, dealing super effective damage; a surge of energy rises up from Lucario.
"Jimmy's becoming quite the strategist." said Edd. "He used a move that powers up Lucario for the rest of Ilima's Pokemon.
"Gumshoos, use Super Fang!" said Ilima. Gumshoo's fangs glowed as it bit down on Lucario, not seeming to do much, but it actually did.
"Super Fang takes half the stamina of the Pokemon it's used on." said Edd.
"Lucario, use Counter!" said Jimmy. Lucario unleashes the energy Gumshoos hit him with back at it, dealing double the damage it dished out, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Way to go, Jimmy!" said Maxiley.
"Quite impressive." said Edd. Ilima returns his Gumshoos to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Gumshoos." said Ilima. He puts Gumshoos' pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Smeargle.
"Lucario, use Brick Break!" said Jimmy. Lucario swings his hand down onto Smeargle, dealing super effective damage; Smeargle struggles to get up.
"That power up he got from Power-Up Punch is coming in handy." said Edd.
"Smeargle, use Flamethrower!" said Ilima. Smeargle fires a stream of flames from its tail, hitting Lucario, dealing super effective damage; Lucario was having a hard time standing up straight.
"Lucario, use Quick Attack!" said Jimmy. Lucario moves at Smeargle at incredible speed and rams it, sending it flying past Ilima and into a cliff wall where it passes out.
"Nice one, Jimmy!" said Eddy.
"One more to go!" said Sarah. A notification appears on Edd's Rotom Pokedex.
"It seems that Lucario just learned Close Combat." said Edd.
"Goody!" said Jimmy as Ilima returns his Smeargle to its pokeball.
"Rest up, Smeargle." said Ilima. He puts Smeargle's pokeball back on his waist and pulls his last one off; he tosses it, releasing his Komala.
"Lucario, use Heal Pulse!" said Jimmy. Lucario gathers energy that's used to heal himself.
"Smart thinking on Jimmy's part." said Edd. "Lucario needed to be healed after the last two attacks he took."
"Komala, use Wood Hammer!" said Ilima. Komala brings up its log and slams it down onto Lucario, not doing much damage to him; Komala also takes damage from Wood Hammer's recoil effect.
"Time to finish this!" said Jimmy as he holds out his wrist that had his Z-Ring on it; he takes out his Fightium-Z Crystal and places it into his Z-Ring.
"Jimmy's not holding back." said Maxiley. Jimmy crosses his arms together, making Z-Energy surround him and flow into Lucario, making the Z-Power Symbol appear in front of him.
"All-Out Pummeling!" said Jimmy. His Lucario starts doing palm thrusts, making hand-shaped energy blasts come out of them that all hit Komala, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Jimmy won!" said Ed.
"I knew he would!" said Sarah. Ilima sighs before he returns his Komala to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Komala." said Ilima. He puts Komala's pokeball back on his waist and walks over to Jimmy who was hugging his Lucario. "You battled well, Jimmy."
"Thank you." said Jimmy. Ilima hands the orange petal, along with some pokedollars to Jimmy.
"Who will I face next?" asked Ilima.
"Me!" said Ed.
"Very well." said Ilima. "I shall have my Pokemon treated, and then we shall battle."
"Okay." said Ed.
Sarah and Jimmy have successfully defeated Ilima and earned their orange petals. Will the Eds accomplish this as well? Wait and find out.
