Tracking Arezu
Back in Jubilife Village, Luan and Leni were just getting back from the Crimson Mirelands.
"That was a long walk." said Leni.
"I could use a rest." said Luan. She looks up at the sky and sees the sun was starting to go down.
"Hi, everyone." Lucy says from behind Leni and Luan, startling them.
"Don't do that!" said Luan.
"Sorry." said Lucy.
"Hey, guys." said Lori as she runs over to Leni and Luan with Lily in her arms.
"Hi, Lori." said Leni.
"Did you all happen to find another of those tablets?" asked Lori.
"Yeah." said Luan.
"That would explain the headaches me, Lucy, and Lily got, and we remember our home." said Lori.
"What kind of Pokemon are in the Crimson Mirelands?" asked Lucy. Leni and Luan told Lori and Lucy about what they all saw in that area so far, along with Lincoln's encounter with Irida and Clover which made them squeal with delight.
"What have you all been up to here?" asked Luan.
"I've just been looking after Lily and Lola." said Lori.
"What's Lola been up to?" asked Leni.
"Still running that little store that she and Lana have." said Lori.
"I've been looking for those wisps." said Lucy.
"Did you find some?" asked Luan.
"Some." said Lucy. "I have twenty-two of them so far."
"I wonder if there's any in the Crimson Mirelands." said Luan.
"Maybe I'll go over there and see for myself." said Lucy.
"Wanna come with us when we head back there?" asked Luan.
"Sure." said Lucy. "Maybe I'll find more Pokemon that I'll like."
"Where's Lola now?" asked Luan as she looks over at the small stand that the twins ran and see she wasn't in it.
"She's getting ready for bed." said Lori.
"We should also." said Luan. "We can report to Commander Kamado in the morning."
"I'm going to show Anthe the two Hippopatases I caught first." said Leni.
"So, you found some for her?" asked Lori.
"Yep." said Leni. While she was heading over to the clothier; Lori, Lucy, and Lily head to their houses to get ready for bed while Luan brings Lana's Carnivine over to the pastures. Leni and Luan soon return to their homes, and they all go right to sleep.
The next morning, Lori, Leni, Luan, go to Galaxy Hall and head up to Commander Kamado's office so Leni and Luan can report to him. When they arrive, they see Commander Kamado talking to Adaman, along with Beni who notices the Loud siblings enter.
"Loud siblings! We have a situation here!" said Beni.
"Greetings, Leni." said Adaman.
"Hi, Adaman." said Leni with a blush.
"What's going on?" asked Lori.
"Let me explain." said Adaman. "Lilligant, our clan's Lady of the Ridge, is in a frenzy."
"Like how Lord Kleavor was?" asked Luan.
"Yes, and Arezu knowingly kept this from me." replied Adaman. "There are only female Lilligants, which is what makes this Lilligant our Lady of the Ridge, but this isn't the time for cultural lessons. I'd like to find out why Arezu was thinking, but she's nowhere in the village."
"Last, I saw, she was at the Wallflower, polishing off a big ol' plate of potato mochi." said Beni. "Not that I blame her; my cooking is simply irresistible after all."
"I'll say; just hearing about them makes me want one right now." said Leni.
"If Arezu of the Diamond Clan was somehow involved in that situation with the raging Ursaluna of the Pearl Clan, it could lead to the two clans going at each other's throats again." said Commander Kamado.
"Tell me, commander; if we do end up in a struggle with the Pearl Clan, what will your people do?" asked Adaman.
"We would be forced to remain neutral." replied Commander Kamado, turning way.
"Meaning what?" asked Adaman.
"If we were to show support for one side, it would put us in odds end with the other." replied Commander Kamado. "We came here to create a home for ourselves, not to take part in tearing the land apart."
"Right, of course." said Adaman. "After all the work you've put in to get us to treat one another as equals and keeping us from fighting, I suppose it's no surprise you'd refuse to intervene if trouble were to break out again." Commander Kamado turned towards Leni and Luan.
"You two; perhaps you have some idea how we might address the situation." said Commander Kamado.
"We need to find Arezu." said Luan.
"But how can we find her?" asked Adaman.
"We just proved ourselves to Ursaluna and she's an ally now." said Luan. "Warden Calaba said she's good at tracking scents. If we had something that smelled like Arezu, then maybe Ursaluna can track her down."
"A fine idea." said Commander Kamado. "And if Ursaluna found you worthy, then you should be able to quell Lady Lilligant's frenzy as well."
"I'll head to Lilligant's seat, then; Brave Arena, it's called." said Adaman. "If you'll all excuse me!" He leaves the office, but not before taking a long look at Leni before the two blushes.
"Listen well, Loud siblings." said Commander Kamado. "You must quell any Pokemon that could cause harm to the people of Hisui."
"Yes, sir!" said Lori, Leni, Luan, Lucy, Lola, and Lana, while Lily giggles.
"Always remember, we came here to make a new home where we can live without war and strife." said Commander Kamado.
The Loud sisters leave Galaxy Hall and head over to the Wallflower.
"Hey, Beni." said Luan. "We need a plate of potato mochi."
"Right away." Beni replied.
"Good, I can use a snack." said Leni.
"We're not eating them." said Luan.
"Then why are you getting them?" asked Lori.
"Beni said that Arezu had a big plate of them earlier." said Luan. "If she ate a lot of them, then their scent should be all over her. We'll have Ursaluna get the scent of potato mochi and have him try to find Arezu with it."
"Well, I suppose it's worth a try." said Lori.
"So, who's going to the Crimson Mirelands?" asked Leni.
"I'll go." said Lucy from behind Leni, scaring her. "I want to look for more wisps, and also any Pokemon I would like."
"I'll take you there to make sure you stay out of trouble." said Lori.
"I can stay and look after Lily and Lola." said Luan.
"Wiwy want go." said Lily with a pout.
"You do?" asked Lori.
"Pokemon." said Lily.
"I guess she wants to see if there are any Pokemon there she would like also." said Luan.
"Fine." said Lori.
"Then I guess it's just gonna be me, Leni, and Lola here." said Luan.
"Let's head out." said Lori.
The Louds that were going to the Crimson Mirelands packed supplies for their journey and started making their way to their destination.
A few hours later, in the Crimson Mirelands, the Louds who were still there, along with Professor Laventon and Akari, were all finishing lunch.
"Who's ready to work on the pokedex?" asked Lincoln.
"I am." said Lisa.
"Me, too." said Lana.
"I'm gonna work on training my Pokemon for a while." said Lynn.
"Make sure to keep track of research tasks for them and the Pokemon you battle against." said Lisa.
"Sure thing, Lisa." said Lynn.
"Let's do it." said Luna.
"Hi." said Lucy from behind Luna, startling her.
"Lucy?!" Luna responded.
"Hi, everyone." said Lori who had Lily in her arms.
"Hi, Lori." said Lincoln. Lily stretches out her arms towards Lincoln who grabs her and tickles her chin, making her giggle; Akari looks at Lincoln with adoration at his interaction with his baby sister; unbeknownst to them, a certain Miss Fortune Bandit was also watching him with the same look from a nearby cliff edge.
'My future husband will make an excellent father.' said Clover. 'Might as well head back to the others before they wonder where I am.' She takes another long look at Lincoln before she leaves the area.
"So, what did Commander Kamado have to say?" asked Lincoln. Lori gives them a basic summary of what they have been told to do regarding looking for Arezu.
"Luna, can you call for Ursaluna?" asked Lincoln.
"You got it, bro." said Luna. She takes the Celestica Flute off her belt and plays it, making Ursaluna run over to them; Lily giggles and reaches over to the Pokemon.
"You wanna ride Ursaluna, Lily?" asked Lincoln, making Lily nod with a big smile. Lincoln then sets his baby sister on the large bear Pokemon who doesn't seem to mind her riding on his back. Lori then holds out the plate of potato mochi up to Ursaluna's nose.
"You brought those all the way from Jubilife Village?" asked Luna.
"Yeah, and it wasn't easy with all the Pokemon trying to eat them." said Lori as she looks at her sister. The sound of munching draws her attention back to the plate to see that Ursaluna ate all the potato mochi.
"Hope Ursaluna got their scent at least." said Lana, making the bear Pokemon nod, indicating that he did.
"Let's get tracking." said Lori. Ursaluna starts sniffing around and begins heading north with the group following after him; they soon reach a swampy area with red water.
"I like the water's color here for some reason." said Lucy.
"This is the Scarlet Bog." said Professor Laventon. Ursaluna begins sniffing around some more until he begins moving through the area. As the group follows after him, they see several kinds of Pokemon around, such as Stunkies, Hippopotas, and Croagunks.
Everyone continues heading into the swamp until they all see a very large skunklike that looked similar to a Stunky, but bigger, and with its tail reaching all the way over its head.
"Is that a Stunky?" Lana asked with interest.
"That's a Skuntank!" said Professor Laventon. "That's Stunky's evolved form." Lincoln then notices that the Skuntank's eyes were glowing red.
"It's an Alpha!" said Lincoln.
"What should we do?" asked Lori.
"What kind of smell would Skuntank make?" asked Lana with excitement.
"I'd rather not find out." said Akari. They see that the Skuntank isn't looking at them at the moment, so they all decided to play it safe and just sneak around it.
"I wanted to play with it." said Lana with it.
"Alpha Pokemon aren't exactly playful." said Professor Laventon.
"And if you train the Stunky you have with you, then she'll eventually evolve into a Skuntank." said Lisa.
"Fine." said Lana. The group continues on through the Scarlet Bog until they reach the bottom of a hill where Ursaluna begins to pick up the pace.
"We must be getting close." said Lincoln. As they start to head up the hill, they all see an Onix that just notices them.
"It's an Onix." said Lynn. Without warning, the Onix launches a bunch of rocks at the group.
"Watch out!" said Akari as she grabs Lincoln's hand and pulls him out of the way of the rocks while the others dodge them, with Ursaluna carrying Lily to safety.
"I got this!" said Lynn as she lets her Machop out of his pokeball. "Okay, Machop; use Bullet Punch!" Her Machop runs at the Onix and hits it with multiple punches, doing super effective damage; the Onix reacts by lunging at Machop and rams him with its head. "Machop, use Mach Punch!" Her Machop quickly moves at the Onix and lands a solid punch across its face, dealing super effective damage. Onix then shakes the ground, sending a shockwave through it that hits Machop.
"Careful, Lynn!" said Lori.
"I got this!" said Lynn. "Machop, use Rock Smash!" Her Machop leaps above the Onix and slams his fists down onto its head, dealing super effective damage, and driving it into the ground. Lynn decides to catch it, so she takes an empty pokeball out of her satchel and throws it at the Onix, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles once before a firework shoots out of it.
"You did it!" said Lana.
"And I believe your Onix is a female, plus she should know Rollout, Tackle, Bulldoze, and Rock Slide." said Lisa.
"Sweet." said Lynn. As everyone congratulated Lynn on her capture, Luna notices that Akari was still holding Lincoln's hand.
"Akari, I think you can let go of my brother now." said Luna, making Lincoln and Akari look at their hands, then each other with blushes on their faces, making Akari let go.
"S-Sorry." said Akari. Lincoln's sisters giggle in response. Ursaluna starts running up the hill towards some bare trees; the group follows after him and soon find Arezu sitting on the ground.
"Arezu." said Lincoln as he, his sisters, Akari, and Professor Laventon run over to her.
"Hello, everyone; how did it go with Ursaluna?" asked Arezu.
"Never mind that; are you okay?" asked Professor Laventon.
"I got chased by a Pokemon and sprained my ankle pretty bad as I was running away." replied Arezu. "It's almost like the world wants to punish me."
"Ah, there you are. Arezu, right?" everyone hears Calaba say; they turn to see her with a Bidoof next to her.
"M-Mistress Calaba!" exclaimed Arezu as Calaba and the Bidoof walked over to her. "Uh, I-I-I didn't..."
"I owe you an apology." said Calaba. "I treated you with disrespect, thinking you were just some whelp from the Diamond Clan."
"It's okay; I didn't do a good job explaining myself, either." said Arezu. "Ursaluna only started acting weird after he got too close to Lilligant and smelled her perfume; she was already frenzied by that point, so I'm sure that's what caused it."
"Ah; that explains the stranger powder I found on Ursaluna." said Calaba. "It must've been powder from Lilligant."
"We should get her back to Jubilife Village for medical treatment." said Professor Laventon.
"Actually, the Diamond Settlement is close by." said Arezu.
"Diamond Settlement?" Lincoln replied.
"It's where members of the Diamond Clan reside." said Arezu. "I can get my leg healed there."
"Let's go then." said Lori.
"I got this." said Lynn as she lifts Arezu and puts her over one of her shoulders.
"Which way to the Diamond Settlement?" asked Lincoln.
"It's just up this hill." said Arezu. With that, the group head in the direction they were given.
The Galaxy Team Survey Corps have located Arezu. What else will the Louds experience and what other memories will they awaken as their work continues?
