Training in the Market
The group is currently standing near the entrance in the abandoned Thrifty Megamart, looking around.
"Well, gang; ready to catch some more Pokemon?" asked Eddy.
"You bet, Eddy." replied Ed.
"Perhaps we'll get enough Pokemon for the Poke Pelago." said Edd.
"While I'm here, I'm going to train my new Turtonator; got to be prepared for Masked Royal's tournament." said Maxiley.
"Let's get started then." said Eddy. The group splits up and begins looking around.
Ed was training his Pokemon; his Decidueye got stronger, his Muk learned Acid Armor, his Gigalith learned Sandstorm, his Flareon, Ampharos, and Dewgong also got stronger.
Edd's Pokemon also got stronger. As he trained, he suddenly hears a jingling sound; he looks to see a grayish white Pokemon that looked like a key ring with four keys floating by. He points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Klefki, the Key Ring Pokemon. Long ago it lived in mines, but once the minerals that make up its diet became scarcer, Klefki began appearing in human settlements." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I believe I will attempt to capture this Pokemon." said Edd.
"Then do it." said Eddy. Edd takes out his Magnezone's pokeball, and releases it. "Magnezone, please use Spark!" Magnezone's body becomes coated in electricity as it tackles the Klefki; it responds by firing off a beam of energy made from redirected light that hits Magnezone, but barely does any real damage. "Magnezone, please use Magnet Bomb!" Magnezone releases small orbs from its body that latch onto the Klefki and explode, sending it flying into a wall. Edd takes the opportunity to toss an empty pokeball at it, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Double-D!" said Ed. Edd then uses the Rotom Pokedex to look up his newly captured Klefki's information.
"This says my Klefki is a male, he knows Fairy Lock, Tackle, Fairy Wind, Astonish, Metal Sound, Spikes, Draining Kiss, Crafty Shield, Torment, Foul Play, and Mirror Shot; plus he has the Magician ability which allows him to steal any item his opponent it may be holding when he hits it with a move." said Edd.
Eddy worked hard to train his Pokemon due to his motivation, which was the thought of his jerk brother trying to do the island trials so he can compete in the Alola League himself; his Incineroar, Vikavolt, Meowth, and Noibat got stronger while his Leafeon learned Last Resort.
Sarah's Blissey learned Soft-Boiled, her Ledian learned Air Slash, Mrs Mime learned Role Play, her Alomomola got stronger, her Salazzle learned Venoshock, and Jolteon learned Last Resort. Sarah suddenly felf a pressence near her; she looks to see a Mimikyu.
"Hey, a Mimikyu." said Sarah; she turned towards Jolteon. "Want to help me catch this Mimikyu, Jolteon?" Jolteon nods in response. "Okay, Jolteon, use Thunder Shock!" Jolteon unleashes electricity from her body, and it hits Mimikyu; it received no damage and its head tilts to the side. Mimikyu jumps to the side and disappears; it reappears next to Jolteon and rams her, knocking her to the ground; she gets back up.
"Use Disharge!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases a bolt of electricity from her body, and it hits Mimikyu, knocking it back. Mimikyu leaps at Jolteon, when it got close, it made a scary face at her, making her stumble back and fall to the ground, hurting her. "Oh yeah! Thunder Fang!" Jolteon's fangs become coated in electicity; she leaps at Mimikyu and bites it, damaging it. Sarah takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Mimikyu. It hits Mimikyu and sucks it in; the pokeball wiggled around until it clicks.
"Yay! I caught a Mimikyu!" said Sarah. Mimikyu's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage.
Jimmy's Lucario learned Heal Pulse, his Butterfree learned Air Slash, his Alolan Raichu got stronger, his Wishiwashi got stronger, his Lycanroc learned Rock Climb, and his Umbreon got stronger.
Maxiley's Pupitar learned Crunch, his Crabrawler learned Iron Defense, his Vaporeon learned Last Resort, his Trevanant got stronger, his Xatu learned Psycho Shift, and his Turtonator learned Body Slam and Shell Smash.
"Wow, Maxiley, you're really working hard." Maxiley hears Sarah say; he turns to see her standing near the Pokemon plush toy bin, smiling at him, making him blush.
"Y-Yeah." said Maxiley, blushing, making Sarah giggle. She looks at the toy bin and grabs the plush blue mouse Pokemon.
"I guess since this place is out of business, anything here is up for grabs." said Sarah, looking at the plush toy. Unbeknownst to her, a gray Pokemon that resembled a cloth was rising up from beneath the bin and lunges at her.
"Sarah, look out!" exclaimed Maxiley as he runs at Sarah and pulls her away; the Pokemon flies past them. Maxiley lets go of Sarah and faces the Pokemon. "Okay, Turtonator, let's take this Pokemon on!" Turtonator nods and runs in front of the Pokemon. "Turtonator, Incinerate!" Turtonator launches a fireball from his snout at Pokemon and hits it. The Pokemon floats to the left and disappears; it reappears in front of Turtonator and rams him, knocking him back. The rest of the group arrive to see the battle; Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Shuppet, the Puppet Pokemon. There's a proverb that says, "Shun the house where Shuppet gather in the growing dusk."" said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Turtonator, Shell Smash!" said Maxiley. Turtonator becomes surrounded by a white glow and the spikes on his shell is surrounded by a red glow; a blue glow surrounds his body, and it breaks off away from him and his defense and special defense decreases while he became surrounded by an orange aura and his attack and special attack as well as his speed increases. Shuppet forms a ball of black and purple energy and launches it at Turtonator, hitting him, and knocking him back. "Flamethrower!" Turtonator unleashes a powerful stream of fire from his snout, and it hits Shuppet, dealing damage, and knocking it to the ground. Maxiley takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Shuppet; it hits Shuppet and sucks it in. It wiggled around a few times before it clicks. "Yes! Shuppet is mine!" Shuppet's pokeball vanishes. Maxiley turned towards Sarah. "You okay, Sarah?" She walks to Maxiley with a stunned look on her face; she wrapped her arms around Maxiley's waist and hugs him, making Maxiley's face turn red.
"You saved me, Maxiley!" said Sarah. She hugged Maxiley for several seconds before she looks at him in the eyes while he looked at her; they looked away for a few seconds before looking back at each other. They both leaned forward until their lips meet and they began kissing; they kissed for several seconds before their lips parted. They looked at each other, smiling until they hear a cough. They looked to see the Eds and Sarah looking at them, grinning. Sarah and Maxiley stepped away from each other, blushing.
Ed walks to Maxiley and looked at him for several seconds before he wraps his arms around Maxiley's shoulders and lifts him up, hugging him.
"Thanks for saving my baby sister, Maxiley." said Ed.
"No problem, Ed." replied Maxiley. Ed then sets Maxiley back down. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and uses it to look up Maxiley's Shuppet's information.
"Maxiley, this says your Shuppet's a boy, he knows Knock Off, Screech, Night Shade, Spite, Shadow Sneak, Will-O-Wisp, Feint Attack, Hex, Curse, and Shadow Ball." said Edd. "He has the Insomnia ability which prevents him from sleeping." He then looks up Sarah's Mimikyu. "Sarah, your Mimikyu's a girl, she knows Wood Hammer, Splash, Scratch, Astonish, Copycat, Double Team, Baby-Doll Eyes, Shadow Sneak, Mimic, Feint Attack, and Charm; she has the Disguise ability which prevents her from taking damage from the first attack by an opponent."
"So, that's why the first attack never worked on that Totem Mimikyu." said Eddy.
"Apparently." said Edd.
Maxiley walks to the plush Pokemon Sarah dropped when he pulled her away from Mimikyu and picks it up; he walks to Sarah while dusting it off.
"Here, Sarah." said Maxiley, holding out the toy. Sarah takes it and looks at Maxiley.
"Thanks, Maxie." said Sarah, kissing Maxiley on the cheek, making him blush.
"Okay, gang; I think we spent enough time here." said Eddy. "Lets try to find out where the next trial is."
"Can we have some lunch, Eddy?" asked Ed.
"Yeah, I could use a bite." replied Eddy. Maxiley returned his Pokemon to their pokeballs and he puts them away. The group walk out of the Thrifty while Sarah and Maxiley were holding hands; they see Acerola outside.
"So, catch any Pokemon?" asked Acerola.
"Me and Maxie did." replied Sarah, putting an arm around Maxiley's shoulder.
"Very good; by the way, now that you passed all of the trials on Ula'ula Island, you can now do the Grand Trial." said Acerola.
"Sweet." said Eddy.
"Where will the Grand Trial take place?" asked Edd.
"On the harbor at Malie City." replied Acerola.
"Okay, guys; as soon as we finish eating, it's back to Malie City." said Eddy.
"I can't wait!" said Ed.
Now that the group have completed the trials, they can now take on the Grand Trial. Will they succeed? Find out.
