Mina's Trial (Part Four)
After Eddy gets Poliwrath and Noivern treated at the Hau'oli City Pokemon Center, the group had lunch; after that, they used their Ride Pagers to call for Ride Charizards. They climbed onto them and left Melemele Island; moments later, they arrived at Akala and landed near the entrance to Lush Jungle.
"Oh boy, I can't wait to see Mallow!" said Ed, excitedly, as he jumps off his Ride Charizard and runs into the jungle.
"Wait up, Ed." said Eddy as he and the others follow after him. Seconds later, the group see Mallow and Lana.
"Hi, Mallow!" said Ed, running to Mallow and hugging her.
"Alola, Ed." replied Mallow; she looks into Ed's eyes and they kissed. Seconds later, they broke their kiss. "So, what are you doing here, everyone?"
"We're doing Captain Mina's trial." replied Edd.
"I see; well, you all have to beat Lana in three on three Pokemon battles to win petals from the both of us." said Mallow.
"That's good; I don't think I can handle battling you, Mallow." said Ed, making Mallow blush; Lana steps forward.
"So, which of you will be battling me, first?" asked Lana; Sarah runs over to her.
"I will!" said Sarah.
"Very well." replied Lana. Seconds later, Sarah and Lana were standing several feet from each other while the others watched; Ed and Mallow were holding hands. Sarah and Lana each pull out a pokeball.
"Lanturn, go!" said Lana, throwing a pokeball and releasing a blue, anglerfish-like Pokemon. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Lanturn, the Light Pokemon and the evolved form of Chinchou. It lives far down in the depths of the ocean. It blinds its prey with light, using the moment they're dazzled to swallow them whole." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Go, Mrs Mime!" said Sarah, throwing Mrs Mime's pokeball and releasing her. "Mrs Mime, use Psybeam!" Mrs Mime fires a beam of multicolored energy out of her hands and it hits Lanturn, dealing damage.
"Lanturn, Hydro Pump!" said Lana. Lanturn fires a powerful stream of water out of its mouth at Mrs. Mime.
"Light Screen!" said Sarah. Four transparent squares appear in front of Mrs Mime; the blast of water hits one of them, and taking most of the hit, but still doing damage to Mrs. Mime. "Now use Psychic!" Mrs Mime's eyes glowed purple and Lanturn gets lifted up into the air and gets slammed onto the ground.
"Use Dishcarge!" said Lana. Lanturn releases bolts of electricity from its body and it hits Mrs Mime, but some of the bolts hits the squares, preventing Mrs Mime from taking the full force of the Discharge.
"Use Double Slap!" said Sarah. Mrs Mime runs at Lanturn and slaps it several times, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"Great job, baby sister!" cheered Ed. Lana returns Lanturn to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lanturn." said Lana. She puts Lanturn's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Cloyster!" She tosses the pokeball and releases a round, spherical Pokemon inside a light gray shell that was inside a light purple shell that had spikes coming out of it. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Cloyster, the Bivalve Pokemon and the evolved form of Shellder. Slowpoke tails are its favorite food. It has even been known to come up on land to look for Slowpoke from time to time." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Cloyster, use Icicle Crash!" said Lana. Cloyster releases wind with blue sparkles from its mouth into the air; icicles fall down from above and they hit Mrs Mime, dealing damage.
"Mrs Mime, use Psywave!" said Sarah. Mrs Mime releases a white circle of light from her hands and it hits Cloyster, knocking it back.
"Spike Cannon!" said Lana. Cloyster closes its shells and fires glowing white darts from the light purple shell and they hit Mrs Mime, knocking her out.
"Don't give up, Sarah!" said Jimmy.
"Wasn't going to." replied Sarah, returning Mrs Mime to her pokeball. "You were great, Mrs Mime." She puts Mrs Mime's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Jolteon!" She throws Jolteon's pokeball and releases her. "Jolteon, Thunder Fang!" Jolteon leaps at Cloyster while electricty covered her fangs and she bites Jolteon, dealing super effective damage; static surrounds Cloyster's body.
"Cloyster's been paralyzed." said Edd.
"Cloyster, try using Aurora Beam!" said Lana. Cloyster fights through its paralysis and fires a multicolored beam of energy at Jolteon, hitting her, dealing damage, and lowering her attack strength.
"Jolteon, use Discharge!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases bolts of electricty from her body and they hit Cloyster, dealing super effective damage.
"Cloyster, Icicle Crash!" said Lana. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Cloyster from attacking.
"Jolteon, use Tackle!" said Sarah. Jolteon runs at Cloyster and rams it, knocking it out.
"You're doing great, Sarah!" said Eddy. Lana returns Cloyster to its pokeball.
"You earned a rest, Cloyster." said Lana. She puts Cloyster's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing well; but you have to beat my last Pokemon to win."
"Bring it on!" said Sarah.
"As you wish; Araquanid, go!" said Lana, throwing a pokeball and releasing an Araquanid.
"Jolteon, Thunder Shock!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases electicity from her body and they hit Araquanid, dealing super effective damage.
"Araquanid, Liquidation!" said Sarah. Water surrounds Araquanid's front legs and it strikes Jolteon with them, dealing damage, and knocking Jolteon back.
"Jolteon, Thunder Fang!" said Sarah. Jolteon runs at Araquanid while electricity surrounds her fangs and she bites Araquanid with them, dealing super effective damage; Araquanid begins to twitch.
"Now Araquanid's paralyzed." said Maxiley.
"Araquanid, use Crunch!" said Lana. Araquanid fights through its paralysis and bites Jolteon, dealing damage, and weakening her special defense.
"Jolteon, Covet!" said Sarah. Jolteon leaps at Araquanid and swings her paw at it, hitting it, and dealing damage.
"Use Leech Life!" said Lana. Unfortunately, paralysis stops Araquanid from attacking.
"Jolteon, Discharge!" said Sarah. Jolteon releases bolts of electricity from her body and they hit Araquanid, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Sarah did it!" said Maxiley.
"Way to go, Sarah!" said Jimmy. Lana returns Araquanid to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Araquanid." said Lana. Mallow turns to Ed.
"I'll be right back, Ed." said Mallow.
"Okay." said Ed. Mallow kisses him on the cheek and she and Lana walk to Sarah.
"You trained your Pokemon well, Sarah." said Lana.
"Thanks." replied Sarah. Lana reaches into her pocket and pulls out a blue flower petal while Mallow pulls a green flower petal out of her pocket; they both give the petals to Sarah, along with some pokedollars. Lana turned towards the rest of the group.
"Who will I be battling next?" asked Lana.
"Me." said Jimmy as he steps forward.
"I will get my Pokemon treated, then we will have our battle." said Lana. Jimmy nods before Lana starts walking to the Pokemon Center.
Twenty minutes later, Lana returns, and she and Jimmy get ready for battle. Lana and Jimmy then each pull out a pokeball; Lana throws hers, releasing her Lanturn, and Jimmy throws his, releasing his Raichu.
"Lanturn, use Hydro Pump!" said Lana. Lanturn releases a powerful blast of water at Raichu, hitting and damaging him.
"Raichu, use Psychic!" said Jimmy. Raichu uses her psychic powers to grab Lanturn and slams it into the ground, dealing damage.
"Lanturn, use Icy Wind!" said Lana. Lanturn releases a blast of cold wind that had snow mixed in it at Raichu, damaging her, and lowers his speed.
"Raichu, use Quick Attack!" said Jimmy. Raichu moves quickly at Lanturn and slams into it, dealing damage.
"Lanturn, use Hydro Pump once more!" said Lana. Lanturn releases another powerful blast of water at Raichu.
"Raichu, dodge it and use Spark!" said Jimmy. Raichu air surfs out of the attacks path, and flies at Lanturn while covered in electricity and rams into it, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Nice one, Jimmy!" said Maxiley.
"Raichu took a lot of damage from Lanturn." said Edd. "Jimmy should be careful for the next round." Lana returns her Lanturn to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Lanturn." said Lana. She puts Lanturn's pokeball away and pulls out another one; she tosses it, releasing her Cloyster.
"Raichu, use Nuzzle!" said Jimmy. Raichu moves over to Cloyster and nuzzles it with his cheek, sending electricity into Cloyster, dealing super effective damage; Cloyster starts to twitch.
"Cloyster's paralyzed now." said Edd.
"Cloyster, use Aurora Beam!" said Lana. Cloyster fires a multicolored beam of energy at Raichu, hitting him, and lowers his speed.
"Raichu, use Electro Ball!" said Jimmy. Raichu forms a ball of electricity and launches it at the Cloyster, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Cloyster, use Spike Cannon!" said Lana. Cloyster tries to attack, but paralysis kicks in, stopping it in its tracks.
"Raichu, use Quick Attack!" said Jimmy. Raichu quickly moves at the Cloyster and rams it, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Yeah!" cheered Ed.
"One more to go, Jimmy!" said Sarah. Lana returns her Cloyster to its pokeball.
"Take a good rest, Cloyster." said Lana. She puts Cloyster's pokeball away and pulls her last one off her waist; she tosses it, releasing her Araquanid. Jimmy notices that Raichu was looking very exhausted.
"Do you want to keep battling, Raichu?" Jimmy asked his Pokemon; Raichu nods in response.
"Raichu, use Nuzzle!" said Jimmy. Raichu nuzzles Araquanid, sending electricity through its body, dealing super effective damage, and afflicting it with paralysis.
"Araquanid, use Leech Life!" said Lana. Araquanid fights through paralysis and bites down onto Raichu, draining him of his remaining stamina that's used to heal its previous injury, and knocking him out.
"Poor Raichu." said Sarah.
"Jimmy can still win!" said Eddy. Jimmy returns his Raichu to his pokeball.
"You were great, Raichu." said Jimmy. He puts Raichu's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Butterfree.
"Butterfree, use Bug Buzz!" said Jimmy. Butterfree releases a high-pitched soundwave that hits Araquanid, dealing damage to it, and lowering its special defense.
"Araquanid, use Crunch!" said Lana. Araquanid, once again, fights through its paralysis and bites down hard on Butterfree, dealing damage, and lowering his defense.
"Butterfree, use Air Slash!" said Jimmy. Butterfree flaps his wings, releasing air blades that hit Araquanid, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Jimmy won!" cheered Eddy.
"I knew he could do it." said Edd. Butterfree flies over to Jimmy and the two hug.
"You rocked, Butterfree." said Jimmy, making Butterfree chirp happily. Lana returns her Araquanid to its pokeball.
"Thanks for doing your best, Araquanid." said Lana. She puts Araquanid's pokeball away and she and Mallow walk over to Jimmy.
"You did great, Jimmy." said Mallow.
"Thank you." Jimmy replied. Lana and Mallow give Jimmy the blue and green petals, along with some pokedollars.
"Who am I battling next?" asked Lana.
"Me!" said Ed.
"After I get my Pokemon treated, I will return, and we will have our battle." said Lana.
"Okay." said Ed.
Sarah and Jimmy have each earned two more petals. Now it's Ed's turn. Will he succeed? Wait and find out.
