Circhester Gym Battles (Part Five)
After getting through the first two parts of the Test Area of the Circhester Gym, Clyde is currently going through the third part of the Gym Test; he fell down a pitfall while going through it. He reaches a platform where a trainer was waiting for him.
"You did well getting this far, Gym Challenger, but you have to beat me in a Pokemon battle if you want to continue." said the trainer.
"Gladly." said Clyde as he pulls out a pokeball while the trainer does the same.
"Avalugg, go!" said the trainer, throwing a pokeball and releasing an Avalugg.
"Urshifu, go!" said Clyde, throwing Urshifu's pokeball and releasing him. "Urshifu, use Rock Smash!" Urshifu leaps at Avalugg while his hand glows white and smashes it onto Avalugg, dealing super effective damage, and weakening its defense.
"Avalugg, use Body Slam!" said Avalugg's trainer. Avalugg jumps up and lands hard on Urshifu, damaging him.
"Use Brick Break!" said Clyde. Urshifu leaps at Avalugg and smashes his hand onto it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out. "Way to go, Urshifu!" Urshifu puts a fist against his palm and bows his head; Avalugg's trainer returns Avalugg to its pokeball.
"Good battle." said Avalugg's trainer as he gives Clyde pokedollars. "You may continue with the Gym Test." After returning Urshifu to his pokeball, Clyde continues walking through the Test Area while watching the Trap Detector; he soon reaches the end of the area. Clyde gives a staff member the Trap Detector and he climbs up a stairway until he reaches the platform on top of it; smoke shoots up from both sides, indicating Clyde passed the Gym Test.
"Our boy made it!" said Harold McBride who, along with Howard McBride, the Louds, the Santiagos, and Simon Sharp were watching on TV.
"I wish they let our Clyde wear a coat; it looks awfully cold there." said Howard.
"And I hope Clyde didn't hurt himself falling down those pitfalls." said Harold.
"I'm sure Clyde is fine, you two." said Rita.
"Now Clyde has to beat Melody." said Lynn Jr. Back at Circhester Stadium, Clyde and Melody were both standing on opposite ends of the battle arena while Lincoln, his sisters, Ronnie Anne, and Sam watched from the crowd.
"You can do it, Clyde!" said Lincoln. An official steps onto the middle of the battle arena.
"This gym battle will be between the Gym Leader Melony and the challenger, Clyde McBride." said the official. "Each trainer will use four Pokemon. Whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin!" The official walks off the field while Clyde and Melody each pull out a pokeball.
"Frosmoth, go!" said Melody, throwing Frosmoth's pokeball and releasing it.
"Melody's first Pokemon is her Frosmoth; what will Clyde bring out first?" asked the announcer.
"Come out, Flareon!" said Clyde, throwing Flareon's pokeball and releasing her.
"And Clyde starts off with Flareon." said the announcer.
"Flareon, use Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Flareon leaps at Frosmoth while fire covered her mouth and she bites Frosmoth, dealing super effective damage to it; fire covers Frosmoth's body.
"Frosmoth, use Icy Wind!" said Melody. Frosmoth flaps its wings and releases a strong wind with sparkling snow and it hits Flareon, but not dealing much damage; Frosmoth flinches in pain from its burn.
"Flareon, Fire Spin!" said Clyde. Flareon releases a vortex of fire from her mouth and it engulfs Frosmoth, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Frosmoth is unable to battle. Flareon wins the match." said the official.
"Clyde's Flareon has beaten Melody's Frosmoth, bringing her down to three Pokemon." said the announcer. "What will Melody bring out next?" Back at Royal Woods.
"Oh, Clyde is doing so well." said Harold.
"Do you think Clyde will win?" asked Howard, holding Harold's hands.
"We have to believe in him, Howie." replied Harold. Back at Circhester Stadium, Melody returns Frosmoth to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Frosmoth." said Melody. She puts Frosmoth's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Darmanitan, go!" She tosses Darmanitan's pokeball and releases it.
"Melody's second Pokemon is her Darmanitan." said the announcer.
"Flareon, Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Flareon leaps at Darmanitan while fire covered her mouth and she bites Darmanitan, dealing super effective damage; Darmanitan's Zen Mode ability activates and he changes into his Zen Mode form.
"Darmanitan, Headbutt!" said Melody. Darmanitan jumps at Flareon and rams its head into her, damaging her, and making her flinch. "Now use Bite!" Darmanitan jumps at Flareon and bites her, dealing damage.
"Flareon, now you use Bite!" said Clyde. Flareon leaps at Darmanitan and bites it, dealing damage.
"Darmanitan, use Headbutt again!" said Melody. Darmanitan leaps at Flareon and rams its head into her, damaging her.
"Flareon, Lava Plume!" said Clyde. An explosion of fire and smog comes out of Flareon and it hits Darmanitan, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Darmanitan is unable to battle. Flareon wins the match." said the offical.
"Clyde's Flareon has beaten another of Melody's Pokemon; can it do it a third time?" asked the official.
"Clyde's doing really good." said Lola.
"He sure is." said Lana.
"How long do you think Flareon can hang in there?" asked Ronnie Anne.
"Not sure." replied Luna. Melody returns Darmanitan to its pokeball.
"You battled well, Darmanitan." said Melody. She puts Darmanitan's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Eiscue, go!" She tosses Eiscue's pokeball and releases it.
"Melody's third Pokemon is her Eiscue; can it beat Clyde's Flareon?" asked the announcer.
"Flareon, Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Flareon leaps at Eiscue and bites its head with fire covered fangs; Eiscue's Ice Face shatters, leaving its Noice Face in its place, preventing Eiscue from taking damage.
"Eiscue, Headbutt!" said Melody. Eiscue leaps at Flareon and rams its head against her, dealing damage, and making her flinch. "Now use Tackle!" Eiscue leaps at Flareon and rams her, knocking her to the ground, unconscious.
"Flareon is unable to battle. Eiscue wins the match." said the offical.
"Melody's Eiscue has beaten Clyde's Flareon; what will Clyde do now?" asked the announcer. Back at Royal Woods.
"Oh, I hope Flareon will be okay." said Howard.
"I'm sure she will be." said Lynn Sr.
"You think Clyde can still win?" asked Harold.
"He still has three Pokemon left." said Lori.
"Yes; he still has a chance to pull off a victory." said Lisa. Back at Circhester Stadium, Clyde returns Flareon to her pokeball.
"You were amazing out there, Flareon." said Clyde. He puts Flareon's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Incineroar, go!" He tosses Incineroar's pokeball and releases him.
"Clyde's second Pokemon is his Incineroar." said the announcer.
"Incineroar, use Double Kick!" said Clyde. Incineroar leaps at Eiscue and kicks it twice, dealing super effective damage.
"Eiscue, use Headbutt!" said Melody. Eiscue jumps at Incineroar and rams its head against it, knocking him back.
"Incineroar, Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Incineroar's mouth was covered in fire and he bites Eiscue, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Eiscue is unable to battle. Incineroar wins the match." said the official.
"Clyde's Incineroar has beaten Melody's Eiscue; now Melody has only one Pokemon remaining." said the announcer.
"You're doing great, Clyde!" said Lincoln.
"He has to beat one more Pokemon." said Lucy.
"And Clyde will win." said Leni. Melody returns Eiscue to its pokeball.
"You did well, Eiscue." said Melody. She puts Eiscue's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "You're doing well, gym challenger; but you still have to beat my final Pokemon to win my Ice Badge. Lapras, go!" She tosses Lapras' pokeball and releases it.
"And Melody's final Pokemon is her Lapras." said the announcer. Melody returns Lapras to its pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it; she then tosses it, releasing a now Gigantimaxed Lapras. "And Melody has Gigantimaxed her Lapras."
"Incineroar, use Double Kick!" said Clyde. Incineroar runs at Lapras and kicks it twice, dealing super effective damage.
"Lapras, Max Geyser!" said Melody. Lapras releases a massive stream of water from its mouth and it hits Incineroar, dealing super effective damage; it begins to rain inside the stadium.
"Incineroar, use Bite!" said Clyde. Incineroar runs at Lapras and bites one of its fins, damaging it.
"Max Geyser once more!" said Melody. Lapras unleashes another stream of water from its mouth and it hits Incineroar, dealing super effective damage, and knocking him out.
"Incineroar is unable to battle. Lapras wins the match." said the official.
"Melody's Lapras has beaten Clyde's Incineroar; what will Clyde bring out next?" asked the announcer.
"Man; this rain made that Max Geyser even stronger than the first one." said Lincoln.
"I hope Clyde can still win." said Sam.
"Little dude can do it." said Luna. Back at Royal Woods.
"I hope our Clyde can turn this around." said Harold.
"We have to believe in him, Hare-Bear." said Howard.
"You're right, Howie; we should." said Harold. Back at Circhester Stadium, Clyde returns Incineroar to his pokeball.
"You were great, Incineroar." said Clyde. He puts Incineroar's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Go, Venusaur!" He tosses Venusaur's pokeball and releases him.
"Clyde's third Pokemon is his Venusaur." said the announcer. Clyde returns Venusaur to his pokeball and enlarges it with his Dynamax Band; he tosses it, releasing a now Gigantimaxed Venusaur. "It's now a battle between two Gigantimaxed Pokemon as Clyde has Gigantimaxed his Venusaur."
"Venusaur, use G-Max Vine Lash!" said Clyde. Two massive vines come out from below Venusaur's flower and energy surrounds the ends of them; they slam onto Lapras, dealing super effective damage; vines appear below Lapras and they wrap around it.
"Lapras, Max Hailstorm!" said Melody. Lapras lets out a loud roar and large hailstones fall from the sky and they land on Vensaur, dealing super effective damage; it begins to hail inside the stadium. Lapras suddenly shrinks back to its original size and form.
"Lapras' Gigantimaxing wore off!" said Lincoln.
"Now's your chance, Clyde!" said Ronnie Anne.
"G-Max Vine Lash once more!" said Clyde. Two massive vines come out of Vensaur and they slams onto Lapras, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Lapras is unable to battle. Venusaur wins the match. The winner of this gym battle is the gym challenger, Clyde McBride." said the official.
"He's done it! Clyde's Venusaur has beaten Melody's Lapras and earning Clyde the victory!" said the announcer.
"We did it!" cheered Clyde while Venusaur returned to his regular size and form.
"Way to go, Clyde!" said Lincoln.
"We, totes, knew you can do it!" said Leni. Back at Royal Woods, everyone was cheering for Clyde.
"Our little boy did it!" said Howard with tears in his eyes.
"We always believed he would." said Harold.
"That was so cool!" said Lynn Jr.
"I hope Melody isn't Venu-sore about that loss; ha ha ha, get it?" asked Luan. Everyone groans in response. Back at Circhester Stadium, Melody returns Lapras to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lapras." said Melody. She puts Lapras' pokeball away and walks to Clyde who was hugging Venusaur. "Your Pokemon are well trained, Clyde."
"I do my best." replied Clyde. Melody reaches into her pocket and pulls out an Ice Badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Ice Badge." said Melody. She gives Clyde the Ice Badge, along with pokedollars.
At the stadium lobby, everyone was congratulating Clyde.
"Congrats on your third badge, dude." said Sam.
"You were amazing, Clyde." said Lola. Lincoln sees an official walking over to them.
"I'll be challenging Melody next, sir." said Lincoln.
"As soon as you change into your gym uniform, you may enter the Test Area." said the official. Minutes later, Lincoln steps out of the changing room, now in his gym uniform.
"Do your best, Lame-O." said Ronnie Anne.
"Give it your all, buddy!" said Clyde.
"I will, Clyde." said Lincoln. He goes into a changing room and puts on his gym uniform; after that, he enters the Test Area where a staff member hands him a Trap Detector and explains what it's for and what his Gym Test was.
Lincoln closes his eyes and concentrates on the sounds coming from the Trap Detector, allowing him to avoid all the pitfalls; he manages to defeat every trainer he came across. He soon reaches the end of the Test Area and climbs up the stairs to the exit gate, resulting in plumes of smoke shooting up, indicating he passed his Gym Test.
In the lobby, everyone was watching as Lincoln exits the Test Area on a TV screen.
"He made it!" said Lana.
"That's good." said Luna.
"Let's go find seats in the bleachers." said Clyde as the group makes their way to the stadium seats.
Meanwhile, down on the stadium's pitch, Lincoln and Melony were coming out of seperate tunnels and make their way to the center of the battle area.
"I must say that you are very impressive, Lincoln Loud." said Melony.
"Thanks." Lincoln replied. He and Melony head to seperate ends of the battle area as an official steps to the center of it.
"This gym battle will be between the Gym Leader Melony and the challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official. "Each trainer will use four Pokemon. Whichever trainer is able to defeat all their opponent's Pokemon will be the winner. Let the match begin!" The official walks off the field while Lincoln and Melody each pull a pokeball off their waists.
"Frosmoth, come out!" said Melony as she tosses her pokeball, releasing her Frosmoth.
"And Melony starts out with her Frosmoth!" said the announcer. "What will Lincoln use first?!"
"Let's rock, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln as he tosses his pokeball, releasing his Lycanroc.
"And Lincoln starts out with his Lycanroc!" said the announcer.
"Lycanroc, use Rock Slide!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc summons up a bunch of rocks that fall right onto the Frosmoth, and because of its extreme vulnerability to rock type moves, it passes out after the attack was done.
"Frosmoth is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winner." said the official.
"Incredible! Lycanroc has taken out Frosmoth with one attack!" said the announcer. "What will Melony do now?"
"Way to go, buddy!" said Clyde.
"That was fast." said Lola.
"Lycanroc did have a big advantage against that Frosmoth." said Ronnie Anne.
Back in Royal Woods, everyone at the Loud house was watching Lincoln's gym battle.
"Way to go, son!" said Lynn Sr.
"Lycanroc took down Frosmoth quickly." said Lori.
"He rocked in more ways than one." said Luan. "Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha; get it?" Everyone groans in response.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony was returning her Frosmoth to its pokeball.
"You've earned a long rest." said Melony. She puts Frosmoth's pokeball back on her waist and pulls another one off; she tosses it, releasing her Darmanitan.
"And Melony brings out her Darmanitan!" said the announcer. "Can it beat Lincoln's Lycanroc?!"
"Lycanroc, use Crush Claw!" said Lincoln. His Lycanroc moves at Darmanitan and strikes it with one of his claws, leaving scratch marks on its torso, lowering its defense; Darmanitan suddenly turns to his Zen Mode.
"Darmanitan, use Icicle Crash!" said Melony. His Darmanitan drops a bunch of icicles onto Lycanroc, damaging him.
"Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc moves quickly at Darmanitan while white streams of energy flow around his body and slams into it, and thanks to Darmanitan's Zen Mode making him very vulnerable to rock type moves due to it making him a combination of two types that are weak against them, combined with his defense being weakened by Crush Claw, along with Lycanroc holding a Hard Stone; the attack was enough to knock Darmanitan out.
"Darmantian is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winner." said the official.
"Unbelievable!" said the official. "Lycanroc has beaten another one of Melony's Pokemon, leaving her with two remaining! What is she going to do now?!"
"Yes! Keep it up, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln, making Lycanroc howl.
"Lycanroc's tough!" said Lana.
"Hope he can keep it up." said Luna.
"He will!" said Ronnie Anne.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was continuing to cheer on Lincoln and Lycanroc.
"Wow!" said Simon Sharp.
"Lycanroc is strong!" said Lynn Jr.
"I'll say!" said Bobby.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony was returning her Darmanitan to its pokeball.
"You did your best, Darmanitan." said Melony before she puts Darmanitan's pokeball back on her waist; she pulls off another one and tosses it, releasing her Eiscue.
"And Melony brings out her Eiscue next!" said the announcer. "Can it beat Lincoln's Lycanroc?!"
"Lycanroc, use Rock Tomb!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc summons a bunch of large rocks and drops them onto Eiscue and pile all over it, dealing super effective damage, and lowers its speed.
"Eiscue! Use Brine!" said Melony. Eiscue releases a large torrent of water from its ice beak that hits Lycanroc, dealing super effective damage.
"Are you okay, Lycanroc?" Lincoln asked his Pokemon with concern. Lycanroc shakes himself dry and nods. "Gotta end this quick before Eiscue does that again; Lycanroc, use Rock Slide again!" Lycanroc drops a shower of rocks onto Eiscue, dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Eiscue is unable to battle. Lycanroc is the winer." said the official.
"Lycanroc has beaten THREE of Melony's Pokemon!" said the announcer. "Melony has one Pokemon remaining! Can Melony somehow turn this around?!"
"Hang in there, Lycanroc!" said Lincoln.
"You can do it, Lycanroc!" said Lana.
"Yeah!" shouts Lola.
"Totes!" said Leni.
At the Loud house, everyone continued to support Lincoln as he continues his gym battle.
"One more to go!" said Lynn Jr.
"I hope Lincoln can keep this up." said Lynn Sr.
"He will!" said Lori.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony was returning her Eiscue to its pokeball.
"You were just wonderful, Eiscue." said Melony before putting Eiscue's pokeball back on her waist. "And I must say, Lincoln, that your Lycanroc is quite formidable."
"I trained it really hard." said Lincoln.
"Let's see if it can beat my final Pokemon." said Melony as she takes her last pokeball off her waist and tosses it, releasing her Lapras.
"And Melody's final Pokemon is her Lapras." said the announcer. Melody returns Lapras to its pokeball and uses her Dynamax Band to enlarge it; she then tosses it, releasing a now Gigantimaxed Lapras. "And Melody has Gigantimaxed her Lapras."
'Lycanroc has a disadvantage against Lapras, and I know he's been battling hard, so I should do what I can!' Lincoln thinks to himself. "Lycanroc, hurry and use Rock Tomb!" Lycanroc drops a bunch of rocks onto the Dynamaxed Lapras, dealing super effective damage, and lowering its speed.
"Lapras, use Max Geyser!" said Melony. Lapras releases a large geyser of water from its mouth that overwhelms Lycanroc, dealing super effective damage, and washes him to Lincoln's feet, unconscious.
"Lycanroc is unable to battle. Lapras is the winner." said the official.
"And Lincoln's Lycanroc finally goes down!" said the announcer. "Can Melony's Lapras pull off a miracle and bring win the match?!"
"Poor Lycanroc." said Leni.
"He did his best." said Sam.
"At least Lincoln has three other Pokemon." said Lana.
At the Loud house, everyone was continuing to watch Lincoln's gym battle.
"No!" shouts Lynn Jr.
"Lycanroc battled hard, sweetie." said Rita.
"I hope Lincoln can still win." said Lynn Sr.
"He will, Dad!" said Lori.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Lincoln was returning his Lycanroc to his pokeball.
"You were awesome, Lycanroc." said Lincoln. He puts Lycanroc's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Boltund.
"And Lincoln's next Pokemon is a Boltund!" said the announcer. "Can it beat Lapras?!"
"Boltund, use Charge!" said Lincoln. Boltund starts gathering energy into himself, increasing his special defense.
"Lapras, use G-Max Resonance!" said Melony. Lapras lets out a song before a bunch of large masses of ice drop onto Boltund, damaging him, and creating a barrier around itself.
"Boltund, use Spark!" said Lincoln. Boltund runs at the Gigantamaxed Lapras and rams it, dealing lots of super effective damage thanks to Charge powering it up; Lapras starts to twitch a little bit.
"And Lapras is paralyzed!" said the announcer. "Can it still fight back and beat Boltund?!"
"Lapras, use Max Geyser!" said Melony. Lapras tries to do so, but paralysis kicks in, stopping it in its tracks.
"This is our chance, Boltund!" said Lincoln. "Use Spark one more time!" Boltund hits Lapras with another electrified tackle, causing the energy in it to explode and returns Lapras to its normal size, unconscious.
"Lapras is unable to battle. Boltund is the winner. The winner of the gym battle is the Gym Challenger, Lincoln Loud." said the official.
"Lincoln's done it!" said the announcer. "His Boltund takes down Melony's Lapras to earn Lincoln the victory!"
"Way to go, Boltund!" said Lincoln before Boltund tackles him to the ground and starts licking his face, making Lincoln laugh.
"He won!" said Clyde.
"I knew he could do it!" said Luna.
"We all did." said Lucy from next to Luna, startling her.
Back at the Loud house, everyone was celebrating Lincoln's victory.
"He did it!" said Bobby.
"I knew he could do it!" said Lynn Jr.
"That was so cool!" said Simon.
Back at Circhester Stadium, Melony was returning her Lapras to its pokeball.
"You did well, Lapras." said Melony. She puts Lapras' pokeball back on her waist before walking over to Lincoln who was still being licked by Boltund; he gets up when he sees Melony approaching. "You are quite the trainer, Lincoln."
"Thank you." Lincoln replied. Melony reaches into her pocket and pulls out an Ice Badge.
"As proof of your victory here, I present you with the Ice Badge." said Melony. She hands the Ice Badge, along with some pokedollars, to Lincoln.
"Yes! I won the Ice Badge!" said Lincoln as he holds his prize up in the air.
Meanwhile, in the lobby, Gloria was watching Lincoln on the TV there with a grin on her face.
"Lincoln Loud, you will be mine." said Gloria before she heads off somewhere.
Lincoln and Clyde have won their Ice Badges. What's next for them as their Gym Challenge continues?
