The Class Trip
After Lincoln and Clyde got away from the horde of Iono fans and left Levincia, they stopped by the tower they made camp near last night and climb off their Cyclizars.
"Do you think we lost them?" Lincoln asked Clyde as they both looked around for any signs of the mob.
"I don't see them around." said Clyde. As Lincoln looks back at Levincia, the memory of Iono kissing him enters his mind, making him blush and smile.
'That kiss was pretty awesome.' Lincoln thought to himself.
"So, what now, buddy?" asked Clyde. Just then, their Rotom Phones rang; they take them out and answer them.
"Clyde? Lincoln?" Mr. Jacq's voice says from their Rotom Phones.
"Hi, Mr Jacq." Lincoln replied.
"Is something wrong?" asked Clyde.
"Nothing's wrong." said Mr. Jacq. "I need you two to come back to Naranja Academy as soon as possible."
"Okay, we'll be there as soon as we can." said Lincoln. With that, they end their calls.
"What do you think Mr. Jacq wants?" asked Clyde.
"Let's get back to Mesagoza and find out." said Lincoln. They get back on their Cyclizars and start heading back to Mesagoza. As they rode through Artazon, Lincoln was being chased by a bunch of Iono fans that lived in, or are visiting, the city while asking him some of the questions that he was being asked in Levincia.
"Man, buddy; you've become really popular." said Clyde.
"I didn't think that kiss would spark this kind of reaction." said Lincoln.
"Just like how you reacted when Iono kissed you?" asked Clyde with a smirk, making Lincoln blush.
"Let's just hurry and get back to Mesagoza." said Lincoln. After they left Artazon, and escaped the city's local Iono fan club, they reach South Province Area Three, and start riding through it until they reach the Pokemon Center at the halfway point. Once they arrive at it, Lincoln hops off his Cyclizar and returns him to his pokeball.
"Aren't you going to ride the rest of the way?" Clyde asked Lincoln.
"And risk Ms. Dendra seeing us and figure out we're using our Cyclizars to get around most places, then make us do one of her workout regimens to 'compensate for our lack of physical activity'?" replied Lincoln. Clyde shudders at the thought, climbs off his Cyclizar, and returns her to her pokeball.
"Good call, buddy." said Clyde. The two walk the rest of the way to Mesagoza. When they arrive, they enter the city and make their way to the academy; as the two walked, they notice several kids, including some academy students, all looking at Lincoln; some with awe, and some with jealousy on their faces.
"I think they saw that gym battle that I had with Iono." said Lincoln.
"Must have." said Clyde. When they reached Naranja Academy, they all enter the Entrance Hall to see Mr. Jacq; talking with a woman with short, wavy blonde hair and red eyes, wearing earrings that looked like the crystals in Tera Orbs, a purple jacket over a black ribbed shirt, red pants, and black loafers.
"We're here, Mr. Jacq." said Lincoln as he and Clyde walk over to their homeroom teacher, getting his and the woman's attention.
"Hello, Lincoln and Clyde." said Mr. Jacq.
"What did you need, sir?" asked Clyde. The woman walks over to the two.
"Are these the two boys you were talking about?" asked the woman.
"This is them." said Mr. Jacq.
"What's going on?" asked Lincoln.
"I believe an introduction is in order." said Mr. Jacq as he turns towards the woman. "This is Ms. Briar. She's a teacher over at the Blueberry Academy."
"Blueberry Academy?" Clyde replied.
"Naranja Academy isn't the only Pokemon school in the world." said Mr. Jacq. "Anyway, I called you two here to let you know that both of you have been selected to join the joint trip between our two academies."
"Really?!" replied Lincoln and Clyde.
"That's right." said Ms. Briar. "I'll be bringing you and two other Naranja students over to Kitakami."
"Kitakami?" replied Clyde.
"It's a small region known for its rice paddies and picturesque fields." said Ms. Briar. "There is also a large variety of Pokemon, some which aren't found here in Paldea."
"Wow!" said Lincoln.
"That sounds so exciting!" said Clyde.
"Just so you boys know, there are also Tera Dens like the ones we have here in Kitakami also." said Ms. Briar before turning to look at Mr. Jacq. "And speaking of which, I would love the opportunity to see the Great Crater of Paldea."
"Ah yes, well, there's not much I can do without permission from the Pokemon League and Director Clavell." said Mr. Jacq.
"Oh, I know." said Ms. Briar. "I've already put in the proper applications. I trust I'll get a favorable response soon?"
"Ah... well... Hmmm..." Mr Jacq started to say before remembering that Lincoln and Clyde were still there with them. "Anyway, this school trip will give you two the chance to expand your horizons and see more new Pokemon, maybe make some more friends."
"Awesome!" said Lincoln and Clyde in unison.
"I'm glad you're both eager for the trip." said Ms. Briar with a smile. "The van to the airport will leave at 9:00 AM, so make sure you all get plenty of sleep; and the plane will depart at 10:00 AM from the Paldea International Airport."
"And I'll be making an update for your pokedexes so they'll be able to tell you about the different kinds of Pokemon that can be found in Kitakami.
"Okay, sir." said Lincoln. With that, Mr. Jacq and Ms. Briar go off somewhere to discuss other matters. The boys start walking around the academy, all while talking about the trip they were about to go on.
"This is so exciting!" said Clyde.
"I can't wait to see what kind of Pokemon we'll see." said Lincoln.
"Lincoln! Clyde!" Nemona's voice calls out, making them look to see Nemona, along with Arven and Penny, running over to them.
"Hey, everybody." said Lincoln.
"How are your Treasure Hunts going?" asked Arven.
"They've been going awesome so far." said Clyde.
"Wanna tell us about them in the cafeteria while we have a snack?" asked Penny as she looks at Clyde with a blush on her face.
"Sure." said Clyde. As the five walk down the hall, Lincoln notices Nemona was glaring at him.
"Nemona, is something wrong?" Lincoln asked her.
"I saw your Levincia gym battle online." said Nemona with a frown.
"Why are you upset?" asked Lincoln. "I won."
"I'm glad you won, Lincoln." said Nemona. "But I also saw what happened after the battle." Lincoln blushed as he knew what Nemona was talking about.
"Is that why you're so upset?" asked Clyde, making Nemona look away with a huff.
"How cute; Nemona's jealous." said Arven in a teasing tone of voice.
"N-N-No, I'm not!" said Nemona with a blush. Lincoln blushes a little also. "I just want Lincoln to focus on trying to earn all his gym badges so he can enter the Paldea League."
"He's still doing that." said Clyde. The five soon arrived at the cafeteria and sit at a table. Nemona quickly takes a sit next to Lincoln, making Clyde, Arven, and Penny chuckle a little, making her and Lincoln blush, while Penny takes a seat next to Clyde. Once everyone ordered a small plate of crepes to snack on, Lincoln and Clyde tell the others about their upcoming trip to Kitakami.
"That sounds interesting." said Penny.
"And Mr. Jacq says there are Pokemon there that aren't normally found here in Paldea." said Lincoln.
"What about the Paldea League?!" asked Nemona.
"And the Herba Mystica?!" asked Arven. Penny had a frown on her face which Clyde notices; he figured out why she was upset.
"I haven't forgotten about those things." said Lincoln. "And this trip may help us with them. We might find some strong Pokemon that could help me in the Paldea League, and with taking on the Titan Pokemon."
"Even help with... other things we're working on here." said Clyde as he looks over at Penny, making her nod as she knew what Clyde was getting at.
"I guess as long as you haven't forgotten about your promises and this trip could help towards them, then I guess it's okay." said Arven.
"Try and find some really strong Pokemon." said Nemona.
"I will." said Lincoln. As everyone ate, Arven decides to talk to Lincoln about something.
"Hey, Lincoln; I was wondering something." said Arven.
"Like what?" asked Lincoln.
"What's... your sister like?" asked Arven as he looked away with a blush, making most everyone at the table chuckle.
"Which one?" asked Lincoln.
"The blonde one with the green dress." Arven replied.
"Oh, you mean Leni?" asked Lincoln.
"Is that her name?" asked Arven.
"Yeah." replied Lincoln. "What do you want to know about her?"
"Just.. stuff about her." said Arven. Lincoln, not seeing anything wrong with the request, tells him all he knew about Leni; interests, friends, favorite foods, and that she currently didn't have a boyfriend, as far as he knew, when Arven asked, making him smile a bit.
After everyone finishes eating, Lincoln and Clyde exited the cafeteria.
"Man, those crepes were good." Lincoln said as he patted his stomach.
"I'll say." replied Clyde.
"So, you two had a little snack, eh?" said a familiar voice from behind them, making them freeze and slowly turn around to see Ms. Dendra looking at them with her hands on her hips.
"H-Hi, Ms. Dendra." stammered Lincoln.
"I think you boys should burn the calories from those crepes off." said Ms. Dendra.
"Oh no." Lincoln and Clyde said in unison.
An hour later, Lincoln and Clyde were limping down the hallway their dorm rooms were in, drenched in sweat.
"We only had a little snack." said Lincoln. "I don't think fifty push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, and ten laps around the track was really necessary."
"You want to tell Ms. Dendra that?" asked Clyde.
"Do I look crazy?" asked Lincoln. "Anyway, let's just get back to our dorm rooms, take showers that we obviously need, and get ready for the Kitakami Region."
"Good plan." said Clyde.
Later in Lincoln's dorm room, after his shower, and getting changed into his pajamas, he is packing an orange duffel bag with the Naranja Academy insigina on it. After he finishes packing, he called his family on his Rotom Phone; seconds later, Lori answers.
"Hey, everyone; Lincoln's on the phone." said Lori. Everyone else gathers around her and looks at her device's screen.
"Hi, everyone." said Lincoln.
"Hi, Lincoln!" everyone else replied.
"So, Lincoln; what's up?" asked Lori. Lincoln explains to his family about his upcoming trip to the Kitakami Region.
"Wow; that sounds really exciting, son." said Lynn Sr.
"You're really seeing places, Lincoln." said Rita.
"What about your Gym Battles?" asked Lynn Jr.
"And getting those Herba Mystica thingies for Arven." said Leni while saying Arven's name in a dreamy tone.
"I can still do those after I get back." said Lincoln.
"What Pokemon do you think are there, male sibling?" asked Lisa.
"Don't know; Mr. Jacq told us there's Pokemon that aren't found in the Paldea Region." replied Lincoln.
"Well, I hope you and Clyde have a fun time in the Kitakami Region, Lincoln." said Rita.
"And if you see any cute Pokemon, catch some for me." said Lola.
"I will." said Lincoln. Meanwhile, at Clyde's dorm room, he was on his Rotom Phone, talking to his dads.
"Clyde; I want you to make sure you have your seatbelt on the plane fastened tightly." said Howard McBride.
"Perhaps you should wear a life vest at all times during your flight in case the plane crashes into the ocean." said Harold McBride.
"And make sure there are plenty of air sickness bags on the plane." said Howard.
"Okay, Dads." said Clyde. He hangs up before he starts packing a small suitcase for his trip.
Back in Lincoln's room, he just got done packing for the trip. A thought enters his head, and he takes out the photo of him and Iono, which makes him blush a little as the memory of the kiss enters his mind; he takes out his Rotom Phone and calls the number that Iono gave him; a few seconds later, she answers via video chat.
" 'Ello, ello, hola." said Iono.
"Ciao and bonjour, Iono." said Lincoln.
"Linky!" said Iono, excitedly.
"Hey, how are you doing?" asked Lincoln.
"I'm fine, and I'm so happy you called me, cutie!" said Iono, making Lincoln blush. "What are you up to?"
"Just got done packing for a class trip." said Lincoln. He then goes on to tell Iono about where they'll be going and what they expect to see there.
"That sounds so exciting!" said Iono. "I wish I was there with you."
"So do I." said Lincoln. "Maybe I can send some photos and footage of Pokemon and other things I see there to you."
"My fans would be very interested to see that." said Iono.
"Maybe we can collaborate on something while I'm there." suggested Lincoln.
"That would be so awesome, Linky!" said Iono. Lincoln then tells her about his schedule tomorrow and when and where his plane to Kitakami was.
"I'll be sure to call you every day, Iono." said Lincoln.
"Looking forward to it, cutie!" said Iono as she winks at Lincoln, making him smile and blush. After that, they end their call. As Lincoln lies on his bed, looking out his window at the night sky, he couldn't help but be excited for his trip tomorrow. A few minutes later, he falls asleep.
Meanwhile in Levincia, Iono was in an apartment's bedroom, lying on her bed in a pair of light blue pajamas, thinking about Lincoln.
'Hmmm... Paldea International Airport is right near Levincia.' Iono thought to herself before an idea that makes her smile enters her head.
The next morning at Naranja Academy in Lincoln and Clyde's dorm rooms, the alarms on their Rotom Phones went off, waking them both up. Once awake, they quickly take showers, eat a quick breakfast, brush their teeth, get dressed; they then grabbed their duffel bags and ran out their dorm rooms.
"Morning, Clyde." said Lincoln.
"Morning, Lincoln." replied Clyde. "Ready for the trip."
"As I'll ever be." said Lincoln. They walk down the hall and they soon arrived at the main lobby of the academy where Ms. Briar was waiting with two other students.
"Morning, you two." said Ms. Briar.
"Morning, Ms. Briar." said Lincoln and Clyde.
"Glad you two made it." said Ms. Briar.
"We wouldn't miss this trip for the world." said Lincoln.
"That's the spirit." replied Ms. Briar. "Are you all ready?"
"Yes." replied Lincoln, Clyde, and the other two students. Just then, Mr. Jacq enters the lobby.
"Morning, everyone." said Mr. Jacq.
"Morning, sir." said the students. Mr. Jacq takes out his Rotom Phone and inputs something onto it that makes the students' Rotom Phones chime, making them look at them.
"I just sent a Kitakami pokedex to your Rotom Phones." said Mr. Jacq. "It will tell you all you need to know about the Pokemon that live in that area."
"Thank you, Mr. Jacq." said Clyde.
"Enjoy your trip, everyone." said Mr. Jacq. The students and Ms. Briar all exit the academy and enter the van that was parked outside. Soon, they were all on their way to the airport.
"Man, I can't wait to see what Kitakami is like." said a student.
"Me, too." said the other student.
"I want to see the new kinds of Pokemon that are there." said Lincoln.
"This is going to be so much fun!" said Clyde. Soon, the van arrives at the airport and parks in front of a private jet.
"Here's our flight, everyone." said Ms. Briar as she and the students exit the van. When Lincoln and Clyde walk over to the jet, they hear a familiar voice call out to them.
"Oyeee, Lincoln and Clyde!" Nemona's voice says, making Lincoln and Clyde look to see Nemona, Arven, and Penny heading towards them.
"Hi, everyone!" Lincoln says to them.
"What are you all doing here?" asked Clyde.
"We came to see you off." said Arven.
"Thanks, everyone." said Lincoln. All of a sudden, he feels someone jump onto his back and a pair of arms wrap around him.
"Ello, 'ello, hola, Linky!" said Iono. Lincoln blushes as he recognized her voice.
"Ciao, and bonjour, Iono." said Lincoln with a smile. Nemona frowns as she sees Iono's arms wrapped around Lincoln. Iono's Rotom Phone floats out in front of them and begins recording.
"Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?" said Iono. "Caught in my Electroweb, your eyes are mine! Whosawhatsit? It's me, Iono! Hello, hola, bonjour; and now, it's time for... The Iono Zone!"
"Wow, it's Iono!" said one of the students that was there for the Kitakami trip.
"This is so cool!" said another student.
"I'm here at Paldea International Airport where my cute Linky is going to explore the unknown Kitakami region." said Iono before looking towards Lincoln. "Are you eager for your trip?"
"You bet I am, Iono!" said Lincoln.
"And he'll be sending me footage of the many kinds of Pokemon and sights that can be found there for all of us to see." said Iono.
"I'll be sure to find something really awesome for everyone!" said Lincoln.
"And here's a little going away present for you." said Iono before she wraps her arms around Lincoln again and kisses him on the cheek, making him blush, most of the people there chuckle, and Nemona growl.
Five minutes later, Ms. Briar and the students she was bringing to Kitakami were on the plane as it was moving down the runway. As Lincoln looked out his window, he sees his friends waving at him, while Iono blows him a kiss and winks at him, making him blush some more.
The group is on their way to a new land. What new Pokemon will they see and what kind of adventures will they see when they arrive? Wait and find out.
