Oni Mountain and the Dreaded Den

Lincoln, Clyde, and Kieran start making their way up Oni Mountain while showing their families and Iono all the different kinds of Pokemon that were in the area.

"This is so cool!" said Clyde.

"Look at all the new kinds of Pokemon!" said Lincoln.

"I've seen all these Pokemon before; I come up here all the time." said Kieran. The boys look around until Lincoln sees a Tera Den nearby.

"Let's see what's in there." said Lincoln. The boys walk over to the Tera Den and crawl inside it; once they reach the inner cavern, they all look around.

"I've never been in one of these before." said Kieran as he looks around in awe.

"Yeah, Clyde and I were amazed when we saw the inside of one of these our first times." said Lincoln. They look to the center of the cavern and see a crystallized, gray, ghostlike Pokemon with a white skull-shaped face covering with a red orb going between each eyehold; on its head was a spiky, magenta-colored jewel with a mischievous grin.

"What's that?" asked Kieran. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Duskull, the Requiem Pokemon. In the dead of night, these Pokémon wander through towns in search of children, whose vital energy is a Duskull's favorite food." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"This sounds like a Pokemon that Lucy would like." said Lincoln.

"Please capture it for me, Lincoln." said Lucy.

"You got it." said Lincoln.

"Judging by the jewel on its head, its Tera Type is darkness." said Clyde.

"Now I want that Pokemon more than ever." said Lucy. Lincoln takes out his Pawmot's pokeball and lets her out of it.

Duskull's shadow extends and stretches until it was behind Pawmot; it rises up with a face on it and strikes her.

"Pawmot, use Spark!" said Lincoln. Pawmot charges at the Duskull while coated in electricity and rams into it; it suddenly twitches as static electricity coats its body.

"It's paralyzed, Lincoln!" said Clyde. The Duskull's orb glows red, making a similar-colored aura coat Pawmot's body.

"What was that?" asked Kieran.

"Pawmot, use Arm Thrust!" said Lincoln. Pawmot runs at the Duskull and strikes it repeatedly with her paws, doing super effective damage with each blow.

"Wow." said Kieran. "Lincoln's pretty good." The Duskull fires a stream of black, purple-tinged, energy from its eyeholes that hit Pawmot.

"Pawmot, use Wild Charge!" said Lincoln. Pawmot lets out a loud yell as she charges full force while coated in a large amount of electricity and collides with the Duskull; she flinches from the recoil damage of the attack. Duskull's Tera Form shatters, and it returns to its normal state.

"Catch it, Lincoln!" said Clyde. Lincoln nods as he takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Duskull, with it becoming crystallized as it heads towards its target; it hits the Duskull and sucks it in, then its crystal coating shatters, and it wiggles once before clicking.

"You did it, Lincoln!" cheered Kieran. The cavern shines brightly and the boys find themselves back on Oni Mountain.

"Pawmot, are you okay?" asked Lincoln with concern. Pawmot smiles and nods. "Sorry I had you use that move."

"My Linky is so caring." said Iono as she looks at Lincoln with adoration. Lincoln looks up his new Duskull's information on his Rotom Phone.

"This says that my Duskull is a girl, she knows Leer, Astonish, Disable, Shadow Sneak, Confuse Ray, Night Shade, and Payback; she has the Levitate ability which makes her immune to ground type moves." said Lincoln. After he picks up the berries and two pouches of Stardust that appeared after the Tera Den disperses, he uses his Rotom Phone to send Duskull to the Loud house.

Clyde looks around the area and saw a gray, bipedal Pokemon with pink veins on its body, walking around with a square log. Clyde takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Timburr, the Muscular Pokemon. Always carrying squared logs, they help out with construction. As they grow, they carry bigger logs." said Clyde's Rotom Phone. Clyde takes out a pokeball.

"This one's mine." said Clyde. "Kirlia, go!" He throws Kirlia's pokeball and releases him. "Okay, Kirlia, Psybeam!" Kirlia fires a multicolored beam of energy from his hands, and it hits Timburr, dealing super effective damage. Timburr charges at Kirlia and kicks him, but not doing much damage. "Use Draining Kiss, Kirlia!" Kirlia leaps at Timburr and kisses it, dealing super effective damage, and draining its energy, as well as healing Kirlia's wounds. Timburr stumbles back and falls to the ground.

"I think it's weak enough, Clyde." said Lincoln. Clyde nods and pulls an empty pokeball out of his backpack and throws it at Timburr, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicks.

"Yes! Timburr's mine!" said Clyde. Timburr's pokeball vanishes and is transported to storage.

"Good job, Clyde." said Howard McBride.

"We're very proud of you." said Harold McBride. Clyde uses his Rotom Phone to look up Timburr's information.

"Okay; this says Timburr's a boy, he knows Pound, Leer, Low Kick, Rock Throw, and Focus Energy." said Clyde. "He has the Sheer Force ability which powers up attacks that have secondary effects, but they would lose them."

Lincoln and Clyde decide to train up their new Chimchar and Turtwig so they weren't too far behind the rest of their Pokemon; they took it easy on them because they were just recently born.

Lincoln's Chimchar learned Leer, Ember, and Taunt; and Clyde's Turtwig learned Withdraw, Absorb, and Razor Leaf.

After a while, the three continue up the mountain towards their destination.

"I wonder if the ogre is around here somewhere." said Lincoln.

"I hope so." Kieran replied. "I'd like to meet it."

"I want to see the ogre too!" said Lana.

The three soon reach a barren rocky area with a lot of large boulders and rock formations around.

"How much farther?" asked Clyde.

"We're about halfway there." said Kieran. Some movement catches Lincoln's eye, and he looks to see a dark gray, lizard-like Pokemon with a black head, and red stripes going up its tail.

"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Salandit, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon. It taunts its prey and lures them into narrow, rocky areas where it then sprays them with toxic gas to make them dizzy and take them down." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"Cool!" said Lana. "Can you catch it and send it to me, Lincoln?"

"You got it." said Lincoln as he takes out his Lycanroc's pokeball and lets him out of it.

"Get it, Lincoln!" said Clyde.

"Lycanroc, use Accelerock!" said Lincoln. Lycanroc moves at the Salandit and incredible speed and slams into it, sending it flying; before it hits the ground, Lincoln takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Salandit, hitting it while it was still in midair; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.

"Nice one, Linky!" said Iono. Lincoln looks up his newly captured Salandit on his Rotom Phone.

"This says that Salandit's a girl, she knows Scratch, Poison Gas, Smog, Ember, and Poison Fang; she has the Corrosion ability that makes it so she's able to poison even steel and other poison types." said Lincoln. He then uses his Rotom Phone to send Salandit to the Loud house.

"Let's keep going." said Clyde. The trio continues to make their way up the mountain until they reach a large canyon that had a stone walkway going over it.

"We should be careful." said Lincoln. "There's no guardrail here to stop us from falling."

"Good call." said Clyde.

"Remember what I told you about keeping your balance, Linky?" asked Lola.

"Eyes forward. Chin up. Tushie clenched." said Lincoln.

"My Linky has a cute tushie." said Iono, making Lincoln's face turn red, and Lincoln's sisters' giggle.

The three make their way across the path without any slip-ups.

"We made it." said Lincoln. The group found themselves on a large ledge of the mountain; Kieran walks to a cave nearby.

"There it it; the Dreaded Den." said Kieran. "This is supposed to be the ogre's home."

"Cool!" said Lana.

"At least, that's what everyone says; I come here all the time, but I'VE never seen it." said Kieran.

"Maybe one of these days, you will." said Clyde. Kieran begins scratching his chin.

"Maybe a powerful ogre like that would only show up if it heard some kind of battle goin' on." said Kieran.

"So, should you and I have a Pokemon battle here?" asked Lincoln.

"Yeah; I think I've gotten a bit stronger since the last time we battled." said Kieran. "You want to battle with me, Lincoln?"

"Sure; anything to help you meet the ogre." said Lincoln, making Kieran smile. Soon, Lincoln and Kieran were standing several feet from each other without being close to the edge of the ledge so they wouldn't fall while Clyde watched, also far from it.

"So, how many Pokemon are you guys going to use?" asked Clyde.

"How does three sound, Kieran?" asked Lincoln.

"Sounds good, Lincoln." replied Kieran.

"Go get him, Lincoln!" said Lynn Jr.

"We're rooting for you, Linky!" said Leni.

"Me, too!" said Iono. Lincoln and Kieran each pull out a pokeball.

"Poliwag, go!" said Kieran, throwing Poliwag's pokeball and releasing it.

"Pawmot, let's go!" said Lincoln as he throws Pawmot's pokeball and releases her from it. "Pawmot, use Charge!" Pawmot starts gathering electricity into herself, increasing her special defense.

"Poliwag, use Mud Shot!" said Kieran. Poliwag launches a glob of mud at Pawmot, hitting her, dealing super effective damage, and lowering her speed.

"Nice move, Kieran." said Clyde.

"Pawmot, use Thunder Shock!" said Lincoln. Pawmot releases a jolt of electricity that was powered up by Charge at Poliwag, hitting it, and doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.

"So strong." said Kieran with awe. He returns his Poliwag to its pokeball, puts it on his waist, and pulls off another one; he throws it, releasing his Furret. "Use Fury Swipes!" Furret runs at Pawmot and slashes her repeatedly.

"Pawmot, use Arm Thrust!" said Lincoln. Pawmot runs at Furret and strikes it with her palms multiple times, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.

"Nice move, bro!" said Lynn Jr. Kieran looks with shock as he returns his Furret to its pokeball. He puts it back on his waist before pulling off his last one and throwing it, releasing his Yanma.

"Yanma, use Air Cutter!" said Kieran. Yanma flaps its wings and releases blades of wind that hits Pawmot.

"Pawmot, use Spark!" said Lincoln. Pawmot charges at Yanma while coated in electricity and slams into it, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.

"Aww, man. I lost." said Kieran.

"Good battle, Kieran." said Lincoln.

"You two were great." said Clyde.

"Yeah; you really are strong, Lincoln." said Kieran.

"You bet he is!" said Iono.

"How am I ever gonna be able to beat you?" asked Kieran.

"Just keep training and you'll get even stronger." said Lincoln.

"I hope I can be as strong of a trainer like you." said Kieran.

"Where's that Applin you caught before?" asked Clyde.

"I wanna evolve it and have it learn a few more moves before I use Applin in battle." said Kieran.

"That's your call, Kieran." said Lincoln.

"If the ogre saw that battle, I'm sure it'd be thinking 'That kid's got real strength.'" said Kieran.

"I'll bet it did." said Lincoln with a smile.

"See, my school... Blueberry Academy... It's a school that specializes in teachin' the art of Pokemon battlin'." said Kieran.

"Sounds sweet!" said Lynn Jr.

"If I was as strong as you, Lincoln; then maybe I can aim to be the best trainer there." said Kieran.

"With hard work, you can do it." said Lincoln.

"Let's go have a look at the ogre's den." said Kieran.

"Lead the way." said Clyde. The three began to walk towards the cave; unbeknownst to them, something was watching them before it ran off.

"Watch your head." said Kieran as they entered the cave; they found themselves in a small cavern and began looking around. "See how dark it is in here? All cramped; even the floor's all rough and uneven."

"At least that cave doesn't have paper thin walls." said Lucy.

"Or rotting wood." said Luna.

"Or water leaking out of the walls." said Leni.

"Or a bathroom with a hole on the floor." said Lori.

"Hey; that hole has a good use." said Lynn Jr.

"Or doorknobs and handles that break off the doors." said Lincoln.

"Or a faulty mailbox." said Lisa. Kieran continues looking around the cave.

"Living all alone in a place like this would get pretty miserable, don't you think?" asked Kieran.

"It sure does." said Lincoln with pity.

"Poor ogre; we have plenty of room at our house." said Kieran. "I would've totally let it stay with us."

"You're a good person, Kieran." said Lincoln.

"N-No, I'm not; I've just...always liked the stories about the ogre, that's all." said Kieran.

"But you want to help the ogre have a better place to live; you are a good person." said Lincoln.

"Unlike your sister." said Clyde.

"B-But if the ogre did show up to stay at our place, I'm sure the whole town would freak." said Kieran.

"Maybe." said Lincoln. He suddenly starts taking some sandwich fixings out of his backpack.

"What are you doing, buddy?" asked Clyde.

"I'm sure there'll be plenty of food at the festival tonight." said Kieran.

"I'm not making food for myself." said Lincoln. "It's for the ogre."

"Really?" asked Kieran.

"Yeah, the area around here is barren with no fruit trees or anything like that, so I doubt it can really find much to eat around here." said Clyde.

"That's so sweet of you, cutie." said Iono.

"Can I make a couple sandwiches for the ogre?" asked Kieran.

"Sure." said Lincoln. He, Clyde, and Kieran each make two sandwiches and put them on a flat stone that could be used as a table. The group soon exits the cave; and see that it was starting to get dark.

"The sun's going down already?" asked Clyde.

"We've been here longer than I thought." said Lincoln.

"We should go back to town and get ready for the festival tonight." said Kieran.

"Okay; let's go." said Lincoln. The boys began to walk back to Mossui Town. A minute after the boys left, the being that was watching them enters the cave and notices the sandwiches they made; it sniffs them before eating with much enthusiasm and joy.
