Meeting the Ogre
At the Loud house, Luan just came out of the bathroom, wearing a bathrobe, and a towel around her head.
"That was a good shower." said Luan as she enters her and Luna's room. When she takes the towel off her head, she hears some snickering, making her look to see it was coming from her roommate.
"Was Impidimp in the bathroom before you?" asked Luna as she tried to suppress a laugh.
"Yeah, why?" asked Luan. Luna responds by pointing towards a mirror that was on their dresser; Luan walks over and looks into it to see her HAIR WAS GREEN!
"Guess the little dude got to your shampoo." said Luna before she burst into laughter.
"IMPIDIMP!" shouts Luan, making the rest of her family look into her and Luna's bedroom, then laugh when they saw Luan's hair.
Meanwhile, back in Kitakami; Lincoln continues to record everything that was going on at the Festival of Masks on his Rotom Phone while Carmine was pestering her brother to play some Ogre Oustin' to beat Lincoln's score.
"I'm glad we get to see all this." said Lincoln as he and Clyde look around at all the people enjoying themselves.
"What do you want to do now, buddy?" asked Clyde.
"Let's check out the shrine." said Lincoln. As the two head towards the building, they spot the being that was watching them from the Dreaded Den walking around the side of it.
"Who's that?" asked Clyde.
"I don't know." said Lincoln. "But that mask he or she is wearing is so cool!"
"Yeah." said Clyde. "I wonder where he or she got it?"
"We can go ask." said Lincoln.
"Let's go." said Clyde. The two run around the shrine after the being and soon find him at the start of the path that leads up Oni Mountain.
"Hey, wait up!" Lincoln shouts out to the being, getting its attention.
"Pon?" the being replied. Lincoln and Clyde run over to it and starts checking out the mask it was wearing all over with great interest and excitement.
"Your mask is amazing!" said Lincoln.
"It's so cool!" said Clyde.
"Ponio!" the being replied as it dances around happily.
"Where did you get it?" asked Lincoln. Before the being could respond, Carmine approaches them from behind and gets their attention.
"Hey, cutie." Carmine says to Lincoln.
"Hi, Carmine; what's up?" Lincoln responds.
"Hey, Lincoln; listen to this... It's nuts!" said Carmine.
"Is something wrong?" asked Lincoln with concern.
"Kiki's no use at all!" said Carmine. "Zero talent for oustin' ogres, I'm telling you!"
"No one's good at everything." said Lincoln. "There are things I can't do well."
"Well, you're good at being cute, that's for sure." said Carmine before she winks at Lincoln, making him blush. The being then runs up the stairs leading up to Oni Mountain, getting the three's attention.
"Hey, who was that?" asked Carmine.
"Beats us." said Lincoln.
"We just noticed him about a minute ago and wanted to ask him or her about the mask." said Clyde.
"Should he or she be going up into the mountain at this hour?" asked Lincoln.
"We should catch up to him or her." said Clyde. He and Lincoln then quickly run up the stairs, while Lincoln's Rotom Phone continues to record everything, until they saw the being at the top of the first flight that just stares right down at them.
"Wait, Lincoln!" said Carmine as she catches up with the two. "You and Clyde shouldn't run off on your own."
"Sorry." said Lincoln. He, Clyde, and Carmine all look up at the being who was still watching.
"Hey, new kid!" Carmine shouts to the being. "That goes for you too!" The being takes a couple tentative steps backwards before leaping backwards up the flight of stairs behind him.
"Whoa! That kid can jump!" said Clyde. As the being lands at the top of the stairs, its mask suddenly falls off its face and tumbles down until it stops at Lincoln's feet.
As Lincoln picks it up and looks back up at the being, he and Clyde get a good look at it; it was a green humanoid Pokemon with an innocent orange face and eyes that had white, star-shaped pupils in them; its face was framed by a black thorny vine, its body white flowers and yellow dots on it, it was donned with a green cloak that acted as its arms, black legs, and feet with two toes that had a sprout between each one.
"That's no kid." said Lincoln.
"Is that a Pokemon?" asked Clyde. The being, now revealed to be a Pokemon, looked really nervous. Lincoln picks up the mask and holds it out to the Pokemon.
"Here's your mask back." said Lincoln, but the Pokemon looked hesitant to approach him.
"You should come back!" said Carmine. "The mountain is dangerous at night!" But the Pokemon just quickly runs off.
"It's gone." said Clyde.
"Who was that?" asked Carmine. "Where'd that kid come from?"
"That wasn't a kid." said Lincoln.
"What're you talking about?" asked Carmine. "Wait, do you mean..."
"I think that was the ogre that everyone's talking about!" said Lincoln.
"You mean the one from the story on the signboards?!" asked Carmine. "Are you saying that story was TRUE?!"
"We got a look at its face; it was definitely the ogre." said Clyde.
"But it didn't look at all like a vicious, evil, monster." said Lincoln.
"It did drop a mask; so it really must be..." Carmine started to say before they hear Kieran call out.
"Carmine! Lincoln! Clyde!" Kieran says. "What are you guys doing over here?"
"Kieran!" said Lincoln as he runs over to him. "You're not going to believe this, but we saw..." He was interrupted when Carmine grabs the back of his collar and yanks him back towards her before she covers Lincoln's mouth with her hand.
"Hey! Don't say anything!" said Carmine.
"Wh-What? Why're you yellin' all of a sudden, Sis?" Kieran asked his sister.
"It's nothing! It's nothing you'd be interested in at all, I swear!" said Carmine. Lincoln then grabs her wrist and pulls her hand away from his mouth.
"But I want to tell him about..." Lincoln starts to say before Carmine pulls her wrist from Lincoln's grasp and covers his mouth again.
"Oh, I get it." said Kieran in an upset tone of voice. "I bet you were makin' fun of me behind my back..." Lincoln suddenly pulls Carmine's hand away from his mouth.
"I wouldn't do that, Kieran!" said Lincoln "I'm trying to tell you that..." Lincoln would've finished his sentence, but Carmine tries something desperate to keep him quiet; she grabs Lincoln's face, turns it towards her, and kisses him right on the lips, making Lincoln's eyes widen, his face turn red, and steam comes out his ears while Clyde and Kieran look with shock.
Meanwhile, in Levincia inside an apartment building, Iono was in her room, lying in bed, when she suddenly gets mad and starts punching her pillow.
"Why am I so mad?" Iono asked herself. "That hussy, Carmine, better not be doing anything with my Linky!"
In Nemona's room at Naranja Academy, she was doing pretty much the same thing that Iono was doing right now.
Back at the Festival of Masks, Clyde and Kieran were continuing to gawk at Carmine kissing Lincoln.
"Sheesh!" said Kieran as he looks at the scene in front of him with disbelief. "Maybe I'll just go back to the festival." After Kieran was out of sight; Carmine breaks the kiss while Lincoln just stares into space with a beet red face that had a blank expression on it.
"Wasn't that a little too much?" asked Clyde.
"Well, I had to do something to keep Lincoln from telling Kieran what we saw." said Carmine with a blush on her face.
"Still too much." said Clyde. He and Carmine then notice the blank stare that was still on Lincoln's face.
"Is he okay?" asked Carmine as she waves her hand in front of Lincoln's face and gets no response whatsoever.
"I think he's overheated." said Clyde.
"Perfectly normal reaction to being kissed by a beauty such as me." said Carmine. "But don't go blabbing that out loud for the world to hear! Don't you have any filter?"
"What's wrong with letting Kieran know?" asked Clyde.
"See, Kiki really likes the ogre. Like, really, really, REALLY likes it." said Carmine.
"Then why didn't you want him to know about it?" asked Clyde.
"If he found out we'd seen the ogre without him... I guess I was afraid he'd feel bad, y'know? Feel left out or something." says Carmine.
"I guess." said Clyde.
"Maybe I'm overthinking it." said Carmine. "Sides, I didn't want him running up the mountain to follow the ogre at this hour, either."
"Yeah, it wouldn't be safe to do that right now." said Clyde.
"Well, in any case, we already lied about it, and that's that." said Carmine.
"Actually, you're the only one of us who lied." said Clyde.
"Whatever." said Carmine. "And don't go telling everyboy in town about what happened here, OK?"
"Including what you did to make Lincoln stop talking?" asked Clyde.
"Yeah, especially that!" said Carmine with a blush on her face. "And also; hold off on showing that mask you picked up to Kiki also."
"Fine." said Clyde. "But I don't like lying if it stops someone from realizing a harmless dream."
"Get over it." said Carmine who looks over at Lincoln who was still in a stunned state. "And you might want to get Lincoln back to the community center and get him to bed."
"Okay." said Clyde before Carmine walks off. Clyde then grabs Lincoln's Rotom Phone, turns the video recorder off, and puts it in Lincoln's bag; Clyde then leads Lincoln through Kitakami Hall as some of the people look at Lincoln with confusion or concern at his stunned state.
The two soon make it back to Mossui Town and Clyde leads Lincoln back to the communtiy center, and puts him on the bed in his room.
"Hope Iono or Nemona don't find out about what Carmine did." said Clyde. He then goes to his room and goes to sleep.
A half an hour later, Lincoln snaps out of his dazed state and looks around to see he was in his room at the community center.
"What happened?" asked Lincoln as he gets out of his bed. "Wasn't I at the festival?" He look around for his Rotom Phone and soon finds it in his bag where Clyde put it. He then plays what his Rotom Phone recorded and it all came back to him; hanging out at the Festival of Masks, seeing the ogre... and the last thing that happened before he blacked out.
"I REALLY hope that Iono or Nemona don't find out about what Carmine did." Lincoln says to himself; he edits out the part of the video where Carmine kissed him to be on the safe side, then takes a quick shower, brushes his teeth, and goes back to bed.
Lincoln and Clyde just met the ogre. What else will they experience as their Kitakami trip continues?
