The Crystal Pool

Lincoln, Clyde, and Carmine leave Mossui Town and make their way up towards Oni Mountain to look for the crystal clusters needed to repair Ogerpon's mask at the Crystal Pool.

"I really hope we find what we need." said Lincoln.

"Me, too." said Clyde. "I really want to repair Ogerpon's mask."

"We all do." said Carmine.

"Where exactly on Oni Mountain is the Crystal Pool, Carmine?" asked Lincoln.

"It's at the very top, Linky." said Carmine.

"Sounds like we have a long climb ahead of us, buddy." said Clyde.

"If it'll help fix Ogerpon's mask, then I'm willing to endure it." said Lincoln.

"I am, also." said Clyde.

"That's good to hear." said Carmine. The three make their way all the way up to the base of Oni Mountain; as soon as they arrived, Lincoln and Clyde's Rotom Phones both started to ring, then fly out of their pockets and hover in front of them.

"It's probably our families." said Lincoln as he and Clyde answer their Rotom Phones, showing that it was indeed their families, along with Iono appearing on a split screen on Lincoln's.

"Hi, son." said Lynn Sr.

"Hello, Clyde sweetie." said Howard McBride.

"Hi, everyone." said Lincoln.

"Hi, Dads." said Clyde to his fathers.

"Hi, cutie." Iono says to Lincoln.

"What are you up to?" asked Rita.

"We're about to climb to the top of Oni Mountain." said Lincoln.

"What's up there that would make you do that?" asked Lori. Lincoln then tells everyone about how they needed to in order to find material to fix Ogerpon's mask and they all understood.

"That is, totes, nice of you to do that for poor Ogerpon." said Leni.

"We really want to fix up that mask for it." said Lincoln.

"Do you really think you can make it all the way up a mountain, Lincoln?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Thanks to all the workouts that Ms. Dendra had me and Clyde do, we should have developed enough stamina to handle it." said Lincoln.

"Let me do an intro for my livestream, Linky." said Iono.

"Okay." said Lincoln. A few seconds later, Iono's livestream theme music is heard on Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?" asked Iono. "Caught in my Electroweb, your eyes are mine! Whosawhatsit? It's me, Iono! Hello, hola, bonjour! And now... it's time for... the Iono Zone! Right now, my cute Linky and his friend, Clyde, are about to climb all the way up to the top of Oni Mountain to find something to fix poor Ogerpon's mask."

"And I'll be climbing up with them!" said Carmine as she moves behind Lincoln and Clyde.

"Not you!" shouts Iono when she sees Carmine. "Why are you climbing up with my Linky?!"

"I know the way to where we need to go, and he and Clyde really need a guide." said Carmine as she smirks at Iono while wrapping her arms around Lincoln and nuzzles his cheek, making Lincoln blush.

"KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY CUTIE!" said Iono as she scowls at Carmine.

"Whatever." said Carmine as she releases Lincoln from her hug. "Anyway, we'll need to head all the way to a path called the Infernal Pass, then we make our way up to the Crystal Pool which is at Oni Mountain's summit."

"Well, let's get started." said Lincoln. "The sooner we get what we need, the sooner we can fix Ogerpon's mask."

"Let's go then." said Clyde as he, Lincoln, and Carmine start making their way up Oni Mountain; they soon reach a path that was covered in some sort of white, powdery substance.

"This path is called the Infernal Pass." said Carmine. "Which means we're halfway to where we need to go."

"What's this stuff?" asked Lincoln as he wipes a bit of powder off the ground.

"That's volcanic ash." said Carmine, surprising everyone.

"Volcanic?!" Lori replied.

"Oni Mountain isn't a volcano, is it?" asked Howard McBride out of concern for his son's safety.

"It's dormant." said Carmine. "Hasn't erupted in centuries."

"That's good." said Harold McBride.

"But at the slightest tremor, you all should get off that mountain immediately!" said Rita.

"Yes, Mom." said Lincoln. He, Clyde, and Carmine make their way up the path, looking at all the Pokemon in the area as they do; they soon see a Pokemon that looked like a slug made of lava.

"What's that?" Lana asked with interest. Out of curiosity, Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Slugma, the Lava Pokemon. Its lava body can cool and chip away at times, but a magma bath will heal it right up." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"Should we catch it?" asked Clyde.

"Maybe later." said Lincoln. "I want to get Ogerpon's mask fixed as soon as possible."

"Good call." said Clyde.

"Can I have it when you do catch it, Lincoln?" asked Lana.

"You'll need to discuss it with Mom and Dad." said Lincoln. "Not sure if they'll be comfortable with having a Pokemon made of lava in a crowded house."

"Yeah, we'll think about that." said Lynn Sr.

The three continue up their way up the Infernal Pass and were very close to the summit where they see some steps leading all the way to the very top of Oni Mountain; near the bottom of them was a sign that indicated the Crystal Pool was up at the top of them.

"We're almost there." said Lincoln. The sound of movement draws everyone's attention; they look to see a Pokemon that was wearing a crude Pikachu costume with a branch tail.

"What's that?" asked Lola. Clyde points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Mimikyu, the Disguise Pokemon. This Pokémon lives in dark places untouched by sunlight. When it appears before humans, it hides itself under a cloth that resembles a Pikachu." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.

"I prefer the dark also." said Lucy. "Maybe when you get the time to; can you catch that for me as well?"

"I suppose." said Lincoln.

"Come on; let's keep going." said Carmine. Clyde puts his Rotom Phone away and the group begin walking up the steps. After reaching the top, they see a large pool of water with crystals inside of it.

"Ooh!." said Lola when she sees the pool. The group walks over to the edge of the water.

"This is the Crystal Pool; bet you didn't expect it to be so pretty, huh?" asked Carmine.

"It's amazing." said Lincoln.

"I'm glad we came up here." said Clyde.

"The crystals here are always shining; isn't that strange?" asked Carmine. "There's even a rumor that you can meet people here who've passed away."

"Wicked." said Lucy.

"Now we'll need to get a little bit of the crystal from the bottom of the pool so we can fix the mask properly." said Carmine.

"Okay." said Lincoln.

"And that's where you come in, Linky!" said Carmine. "Go on then; jump in! Don't be scared!"

"Me?!" Lincoln replied.

"Well, I can't swim!" said Carmine. "And even if I did, I didn't bring my swimsuit with me, which is a shame since you don't get to see me wearing it, cutie."

"Don't try anything with my Linky!" said Iono with a growl.

"If you can't swim; why do you even have a swimsuit?" asked Clyde.

"I can still work on my tan." said Carmine. "Now hop to it, Linky."

"Fine." said Lincoln as he starts to take off his jinbei top.

"What are you doing?!" asked Carmine with a blush.

"Relax." said Lincoln. "Ever since my splash fight with Finizen the morning I caught it, I started wearing swim trunks under my shorts in case I somehow get into another one with another Pokemon in the water."

"Oh." said Carmine with relief. When Lincoln takes off his jinbei, he hears a wolf whistle from his Rotom Phone, making him look to see Iono looking at him with her face red, and eyes wide open.

"Bro! What kind of workouts does that Ms. Dendra lady have you doing again?!" asked Lynn Jr. Lincoln looks at his body and was surprised at how well toned it was; he even had six pack abs starting to develop on his stomach.

"Bah... Bah... Bah..." Iono and Carmine stammered as they had blushes on their faces.

"Those workouts Ms. Dendra makes me do really are paying off." said Lincoln. Clyde lifts his jinbei top up to see he was getting well-toned as well.

"I'll say." said Clyde as he sees his body's physical condition. What Clyde didn't know was that Penny was watching the livestream, blushing when she sees Clyde's toned body.

"Maybe I'll hurry up and get the crystal clusters so I can get dried off and dressed." said Lincoln.

"T-T-Take your time with the second part!" said Iono, making Lincoln blush.

Just then, the area started to shake violently, startling Lincoln, Clyde, Carmine, and everyone who was watching on the Rotom Phones.

"What in the... An earthquake?!" asked Carmine.

"Is the volcano erupting?!" asked Lynn Sr.

"Lincoln! You, Clyde, and Carmine better get off that mountain!" said Rita. Suddenly, a serpentlike Pokemon with a cream-colored body, along with red and blue scales on its lower body with a fanlike tail tip, thin antenna sticking up from the top of its head, and hairlike fins going down the sides of its head.

"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Milotic, the Tender Pokemon, and the evolved form of Feebas. Its lovely scales are described as rainbow- colored. They change color depending on the viewing angle." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"It's... so... beautiful." Lola says as she looks at the Milotic with awe. The Milotic glares at the group.

"It doesn't look happy." said Carmine. Lincoln pulls out a pokeball.

"I think I have to battle it." said Lincoln. "Floragato, go!" He throws Floragato's pokeball, and releases him. "Floragato, use Hone Claws!" Floragato's claws glowed red, and an orange aura appears around him, increasing his attack strength and accuracy. Water surrounds the Milotic's tail, and it swings it at Floragato, hitting him, but not dealing much damage.

"Floragato, Seed Bomb!" said Lincoln. Floragato releases glowing seeds from his body, and they hit Milotic, dealing super effective damage. The Milotic wraps its body around Floragato and begins squeezing.

"Floragato, use Bite!" said Lincoln. Floragato bites Milotic's body, making it lose its grip on Floragato, and flinch. Floragto lands near Lincoln. "Now use Magical Leaf!" Floragato releases glowing green leaves from his body, and they hit Milotic, dealing super effective damage. Milotic leaps at Floragato and rams him, knocking him back.

"That Milotic's tough." said Clyde.

"My Linky's Floragato's even tougher; you'll see!" said Iono.

"Floragato, Seed Bomb!" said Lincoln. Floragato releases more glowing seeds from his body, and they hit Milotic, knocking it into the water, unconscious. "Great job, Floragato!" Carmine walks over to Lincoln.

"Sheesh; that Milotic surprised me." said Carmine. "Now that I think about it, Pokemon like that one do show up from time to time." She turned towards Lincoln. "Y'know, you're pretty handy to have around in a battle, aren't you?"

"And he's super cute, too!" said Iono.

"That he is." said Carmine. Something catches Lincoln's eye; he walks over to something sparkling on the ground and sees a crystal on the ground. "Hey; that's a Crystal Cluster; maybe it was stuck on that Milotic you fought."

"Guess I don't need to swim after all." said Lincoln as he picks up the Crystal Cluster.

"At least I got to see your well-toned torso, Linky." said Iono, making Lincoln blush. He puts his jinbei back on. They hear some footsteps approaching them; they look to see Ms. Briar walking over to them.

"The energy coming from those crystals at the bottom of the pool; I knew it." said Ms. Briar.

"Ms. Briar." said the group in unison.

"Hello, everyone." said Ms. Briar. "I thought you were all paired up with other students; did you decide to switch things up?"

"I'm sorry, Ms. Briar; but this place is actually pretty special." said Carmine. "I'm not a big fan of outsiders just wandering around up here."

"I'm aware this is sacred ground, yes." said Ms. Briar. "I did get permission from the caretaker, though; wasn't that sufficient?"

"Why did you come here?" asked Carmine.

"Oh, just doing a bit of field research; I was interested in the properties of the water here. And well, my hunch was right on the money!" said Ms. Briar.

"Hunch?" Lincoln replied.

"You see, the Crystal Pool's waters emit energy of the same wavelength as Terastral energy." said Ms. Briar. "Though I have no idea why that is... Once I figure that out, I might be able to stabilize the Terastral phenomenon in other regions other than Paldea!"

"Uh, I see..." Carmine replied.

"I'm going to return to the community center to figure out the mysteries of this place." said Ms. Briar before she walks off.

"Wasn't expecting her to show up." said Carmine. Just then, they hear something coming from the water, making them look to see bubbling coming up out of it.

"Is another Pokemon coming?" asked Clyde. They all watch as water shoots up, and someone comes up out of it and lands on the ground in front of the group; Lincoln and Clyde blush when they immediately recognize the person that came out.

"Professor Sada?!" Lincoln says as he and Clyde gawk at the Pokemon researcher who was currently wearing an orange, two-piece, swimsuit.

"Hello, boys." said Professor Sada. Lincoln and Clyde's faces turn bright red as they continue to stare at her; Rusty, Liam, and Zach were gawking at her as well.

"What are you doing here?" asked Carmine.

"I got permission from the caretaker to be here." said Professor Sada. "I was interested in the crystals at the bottom of the water here and how their energies were similar to Terastal ones."

"S-S-So was Ms. Briar." said Clyde as he continues to gawk at Professor Sada.

'Remember Iono. Remember Iono. Remember Iono.' Lincoln thinks to himself as he uses every ounce of willpower he had to not stare at the beautiful researcher in front of him.

"It was nice to see you boys again." said Professor Sada. "I will return to my lab at Area Zero to go over what I learned here." She walks away with Lincoln and Clyde staring at her as she passes by them with blushes covering their entire faces.

"Are you boys okay?" asked Carmine.

"Y-Y-Yeah, she has this kind of effect on us." said Lincoln as he blushes while Clyde goes his malfunctioning robot routine.

"Man, I REALLY wish I was there!" said Rusty.

"Can we just go already?!" asked Carmine as she looks away with a huff.

"Okay." said Lincoln.

"I think Carmine's jealous." said Lola with a grin.

"N-No I'm not!" said Carmine with a blush.

"Linky's MINE!" shouts Iono; Carmine sticks her tongue out at her in response, making Iono growl.

"We should hurry and get back to Mossui Town." said Lincoln. After Clyde regains consciousness, the group leave the Crystal Pool area.

As the three start to make their way down the steps to the Infernal Pass, Lincoln looks at the Crystal Cluster they found.

"What's up, Lincoln?" asked Clyde.

"Remember what Ms. Briar said about the waters having the same kind of energy as Terastal energy?" asked Lincoln.

"Yeah, why?" Clyde replied.

"Do you suppose these crystals are the same as the ones we find in Tera Dens?" asked Lincoln.

"That's an interesting theory." said Clyde.

"Maybe Ms. Briar or Professor Sada will find out something about them someday." said Lincoln.

"Professor Sada..." Clyde says with a goofy smile and blush on his face.

"Well, anyway; we got what we came for, so let's head back to Grandpa so he can fix Ogerpon's mask." said Carmine.

"Let's go!" said Lincoln. Carmine quickly grabs Lincoln's hand, making him blush, and starts pulling him down the path with Clyde following after them.

"KEEP... YOUR... HANDS... OFF... MY... LINKY!" screams Iono, making Carmine look at Iono on the screen and stick her tongue out at her, making her snarl.

Lincoln, Clyde, and Carmine have found the Crystal Clusters needed to fix Ogerpon's mask. What will they do when they try to return it? Find out as Lincoln and Clyde's Kitakami adventure continues.
