Kieran vs Ogerpon
After Lincoln, Clyde, Kieran, Carmine, and Ogerpon got the last mask back, they all decide to head back to Mossui Town. As they travel through the cave they used to get to where Fezandipiti fled to, Lincoln sees the rocklike, jewel-embedded Pokemon he saw earlier.
"Let's see what Pokemon you are." said Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Carbink, the Jewel Pokemon. It has slept underground for hundreds of millions of years since its birth. It's occasionally found during the excavation of caves." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Oooh! Jewels! Catch that Pokemon for me, Lincoln!" said Lola.
"Okay." said Lincoln as he tosses a pokeball, letting out his Finizen. "Okay, Finizen; use Aqua Jet!" His Finizen rockets towards the Carbink while his body's coated in water and slams into it, dealing super effective damage; the Carbink reacts by summoning four rocks that had fossils in them and launches them at Finizen. A surge of energy rises from Carbink's body.
"That was definitely Ancient Power!" said Kieran.
"That won't stop us!" said Lincoln. "Finizen, use Water Gun!" His Finizen releases a spray of water from his mouth that hits the Carbink, dealing super effective damage, and sends it flying into a cave wall. Lincoln quickly grabs an empty pokeball from his backpack and throws it at the Carbink, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks.
"Way to go, cutie!" said Iono. As Carbink's pokeball is transported to storage, Lincoln looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says Carbink has no gender, it knows Tackle, Harden, Guard Split, Smack Down, Flail, Ancient Power, and Rock Polish; it has the Clear Body ability which makes it immune to stat-lowering effects." said Lincoln.
"Hurry and send that Pokemon over to me!" said Lola. Lincoln complies with his younger sister's demand and sends Carbink to the Loud house.
"Just sent it over." Lincoln tells his sister.
"Thanks, Linky!" said Lola as she runs upstairs to get her newest Pokemon. After the group exits the cave, Lincoln and Clyde let their Cyclizars out of their pokeballs; Lincoln and Carmine climb onto Lincoln's Cyclizar, much to Iono's dismay while Clyde, Kieran, and Ogerpon climb onto Clyde's. They rode for several minutes until they arrived in Mossui Town; they noticed several children wearing Ogerpon masks.
"Where did all the Ogerpon masks come from?" asked Carmine.
"While you were gone, the townspeople asked me to make some for the festival." said Kieran and Carmine's grandfather.
"How did you make so many so fast?" asked Clyde.
"Don't underestimate Grandpa." said Carmine.
"So, what now?" asked Clyde.
"Can we go to the festival tonight?" asked Kieran. "Now that everyone knows Ogerpon's good, she can enjoy the festival without having to disguise herself; although, if she still wants to wear one of her masks, then that's her decision." Ogerpon looks at Kieran with a smile on her face.
"Sure, Kiki." said Carmine.
"We'll make Ogerpon our guest of honor tonight." said the caretaker.
"Yeah; I want to buy Ogerpon masks for me and my family." said Lincoln.
"I'm gonna buy a couple for my dads." said Clyde. "We should buy some for our friends back home in Royal Woods and Paldea."
"Good idea." said Lincoln.
"Oh, but what about the festival area?" asked Kieran. "Didn't the Loser Three wreck everything?"
"While you four were getting Ogerpon's masks back, we cleaned everything up so it's ready for tonight." said the caretaker.
"That's great!" said Kieran.
"The festival will resume once night comes." said the caretaker. "So you have two hours to get ready."
"Thank you, sir." said Clyde.
"So what should we do in the meantime?" asked Lincoln.
"We can go for a walk together just the two of us, cutie." said Carmine as she grabs Lincoln's hand, making him blush, and Iono growl.
As Kieran watches his sister and friend interact, Ogerpon walks over to him and gets his attention.
"What's up, Ogerpon?" asked Kieran, getting his sister and friends' attentions. Ogerpon grabs Kieran's hand and starts leading him towards Oni Mountain.
"What's she doing with Kieran?" asked Clyde.
"Let's go find out." said Lincoln. The group head up Oni Mountain and soon arrive at the Dreaded Den.
"Why did Ogerpon want Kieran to come here?" asked Carmine. Ogerpon walks into the cave, and soon comes out with a dusty-looking pokeball.
"What's she doing with that?" asked Lincoln. They all watch as Ogerpon walks over to Kieran and hands him the pokeball.
"Is this for me?" asked Kieran. A look of determination appears on Ogerpon's face as she leaps back, and pulls out a metal club with spikes that had ivy wrapped around it.
"I think she wants Kieran to catch her." said Lincoln.
"Really?!" Kieran replied.
"And I think she wants you to battle her to do it." said Clyde.
"Why doesn't she just let Kieran catch her?" asked Carmine.
"Maybe she's testing him to see if he's worthy?" Lincoln guessed.
"This should be good!" said Lynn Jr.
"Everyone, it's Kieran vs Ogerpon! Don't go anywhere, because I'm sure this is going to be about as intense as the kiss I'm gonna give Linky when he returns to Paldea after his trip!" said Iono, making Lincoln blush.
Ogerpon takes out the Hearthflame Mask and puts it on; the cloak she was wearing turned red, yellow, and brownish red.
"That's so cool!" said Clyde. All of a sudden, crystal pillars formed around Ogerpon and shatter, showing that not only was Ogerpon's body and mask crystallized, the mask was a lot bigger than before.
"Whoa!" said Lincoln. "That looks just like Terastallization!"
"The crystals on her masks really must be parts of Tera Den ones." said Clyde.
"What type of Pokemon is Ogerpon now?" asked Carmine.
"Well, the second signboard say that the red mask gives her power over fire." said Lincoln.
"So I'm guessing you're a fire type right now?" asked Kieran with determination as he takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing a large, blue, rock Pokemon with a big red nose and head covering, a black mustache, and three small statues around its body.
"What's that?" asked Clyde as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.
"Probopass, the Compass Pokemon, and the evolved form of Nosepass. It controls three units called Mini-Noses using magnetic force. With them, it can attack a foe from three directions." said Clyde's Rotom Phone.
"Fascinating!" said Lisa. Ogerpon leaps at Probopass and kicks it in its side, dealing super effective damage; Probopass slumps a bit.
"That was Low Sweep." said Lincoln. "And it looks like it lowered Probopass's speed."
"That won't stop us!" said Kieran. "Probopass, use Rock Slide!" Probopass summons a bunch of rocks and drops them onto Ogerpon, dealing super effective damage; Ogerpon responds by hitting Probopass with another Low Sweep to its side, dealing more super effective damage.
"Better do something, Kieran!" said Lincoln.
"Probopass, use Rock Tomb!" said Kieran. Probopass drops a bunch of rocks onto Ogerpon, dealing super effective damage; Ogerpon's crystallized skin then shatters and her Hearthflame Mask falls off.
"You did it, Kiki!" said Carmine. Ogerpon slowly gets up and grabs her Wellspring Mask.
"Looks like she's gonna try another mask now." said Clyde. Ogerpon puts the mask on; her cloak turns light blue and white; and more crystal pillars form around her; they shatter, revealing her Terastallized once again, and with the Wellspring Mask being bigger.
"The blue one is supposed to give her power over water, so she must be a water type now." said Lincoln.
"That'll give Ogerpon an advantage against a rock type like Probopass." said Clyde.
Ogerpon raises up her cudgel, and a powerful vortex of water swirls around it; she swings it down hard onto Probopass, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Whoa!" said Carmine.
"That was a water attack?" asked Lincoln. "I figured with the ivy that it would be a grass attack."
"Looks can be deceiving." said Clyde. Kieran returns his Probopass to its pokeball.
"You did great, Probopass." said Kieran. He puts Probopass's pokeball back on his waist and pulls off another one; he tosses it, releasing a large, brown Pokemon whose head is covered in a thick layer of hair that reaches down to the back of its feet which kind of looked like sandals; on the ends of its branchlike arms were leaves that were arranged like a fan.
"What's that?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at Kieran's Pokemon.
"Shiftry, the Wickid Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Seedot. It is said that when Shiftry flaps its leafy fans atop ancient trees, chilly winds blow and the season rolls into winter." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Where is Kiki getting these Pokemon?" asked Carmine with shock.
Ogerpon runs at Shiftry and does anothe Low Sweep at it, dealing super effective damage, and lowers its speed.
"Shiftry, use Leaf Blade!" said Kieran. One of the leaves on one of Shiftry's hands glowed green and grew longer; it slashes at Ogerpon with it, dealing super effective damage. Ogerpon, once again, does another Low Sweep at Shiftry, dealing more super effective damage to it, and lowers its speed further.
"Better do something quick, Kieran!" said Lincoln.
"Shiftry, use Mega Drain!" said Kieran. Shiftry releases a stream of green energy at Ogerpon, hitting her, and drains her of stamina that Shiftry uses to heal itself a bit; Ogerpon's crystal skin shatters and her mask falls off.
"Careful, Kieran." said Lincoln. "She'll probably grab a different mask now." Just like Lincoln predicted, Ogerpon grabs the Cornerstone Mask and puts it on, making her cloak gray and black, plus more crystal pillars form around her that shatter, once again Terastillizing her, and making her mask bigger.
"The gray one allows her to break through tough rocks, so it could be a fighting type now." said Carmine.
"Yeah, but I'm not too sure about that." said Lincoln. "That mask looked like a stone one, so it could be a rock type."
"We'll just have to find out." said Kieran. Ogerpon raises up her cudgel, making rocks appear and swirl around it.
"I thought water swirled around her weapon." said Clyde. Ogerpon slams her weapon down hard onto Shiftry, knocking it out.
"What is with Ogerpon's weapon?" asked Carmine.
"When it wore the Wellspring Mask, water swirled around it; but with the Cornerstone Mask, rocks swirled around it." said Clyde.
"I'm guessing that the weapon changes depending on what mask Ogerpon's wearing." said Lincoln.
"That is so cool!" said Ronnie Anne.
"Not as cool as my Linky!" said Iono, making Ronnie Anne growl at her. Kieran returns his Shiftry to its pokeball.
"Thanks for trying your best, Shiftry." said Kieran. He puts Shiftry's pokeball away and pulls another one off his waist; he tosses it, releasing his Poliwrath.
"Good choice, Kieran." said Lincoln. "Poliwrath should have double advantages against rock types."
"Poliwrath, use Close Combat!" said Kieran. Poliwrath runs at Ogerpon and unleashes a barrage of punches and kicks on her, dealing super effective damage.
"Sweet!" said Lynn Jr. Poliwrath's body slumps a little bit.
"What's with Poliwrath?" asked Lana.
"Close Combat has a side effect of lowering the defenses of the Pokemon that used it." said Clyde.
"I figured that move would've taken down Ogerpon." said Carmine. Ogerpon swings her cudgel down onto Poliwrath, dealing damage to it.
"Poliwrath, use Liquidation!" said Kieran. Poliwrath's hands and feet become surrounded by water; it leaps at Ogerpon and punches and kicks her, dealing super effective damage, and shattering her crystal skin, along with making her mask fall off.
"Ogerpon has one mask remaining." said Lincoln.
"You're almost there, Kiki!" said Carmine. As Ogerpon picks up her Teal Mask, she looks at it with a fond look.
"That must be her favorite one." said Lincoln.
"She has been wearing it for years when she comes to the Festival of Masks." said Carmine. Ogerpon puts the Teal Mask on, making her cloak turn back to its original green color, and another batch of crystals rise around her; when they shatter, she was once more Terastallized with a bigger mask.
"You can do it, Kieran!" said Lincoln.
"Right!" Kieran says with determination. Ogerpon raises her cudgel, making leaves swirl fiercely around it.
"She must be a grass type now!" said Clyde.
"Not good for Poliwrath right now." said Lincoln. Ogerpon swings her cudgel down onto Poliwrath, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Ogerpon's so awesome!" said Lynn Jr.
"I, totes, love those masks!" said Leni.
"I love it when they're all sparkly!" said Lola. Kieran returns his Poliwrath to its pokeball.
"You were great, Poliwrath." said Kieran. He puts Poliwrath's pokeball away and pulls out another one; he tosses it, releasing his Yanmega.
"This is it." said Lincoln.
"Do it, Kiki!" said Carmine.
"Yanmega, use Bug Buzz!" said Kieran. His Yanmega releases a high-pitched soundwave that hits Ogerpon, dealing super effective damage; Ogerpon's body slumps a bit.
"What's wrong with Ogerpon?" asked Luan.
"Bug Buzz can lower its target's special defenses." said Clyde.
"That can give Kieran the edge he needed." said Lincoln. Ogerpon slams her cudgel hard onto Yanmega, damaging it.
"Yanmega, use Air Cutter!" said Kieran. Yanmega flaps its wings, releasing a strong blade of wind that hits Ogerpon, dealing enough super effective damage, and shatters her crystal skin; Ogerpon falls to the ground and her mask comes off.
"Kiki did it!" said Carmine. Kieran looked at Ogerpon as she slowly gets up; she looks at Kieran with a smile and closes her eyes with her cloak arms spread out.
"It's time, Kieran." said Lincoln. Kieran nods as he takes out the pokeball Ogerpon gave him and tosses it at her, hitting Ogerpon, and sucking her in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking. Kieran looked at the pokeball with stunned awe on his face.
"I did it." Kieran says before a smile grew on his face. "I DID IT! I CAUGHT OGERPON!"
"Way to go, Kieran!" said Lincoln as he, Clyde, and Carmine run over to congratulate him.
"We're so happy for you." said Rita.
"Definitely." said Lori.
Kieran then opens Ogerpon's pokeball and lets her out, making her look back at him with a smile.
"Now we can always be together." said Kieran with tears in his eyes. Ogerpon hugs Kieran who hugs her back while the others watch with smiles on their faces.
Kieran has defeated and caught Ogerpon. What else will happen as Lincoln and Clyde's class trip continues?
