The Lurking Steel Titan
Lincoln, along with his sisters and friends, finally arrived at Levincia as they all continue to make their way to the site of the next Titan Pokemon and Herba Mystica.
"Levincia is so cool!" said Nemona.
"This is where you first met Iono, isn't it, Lincoln." said Lynn with a grin, making Lincoln blush, and Nemona frown.
"Speaking of Iono; I'm gonna return her sweater to her." said Lincoln.
"Where does she live?" asked Leni.
"I have no idea." said Lincoln. "I'll call her to let her know we're here." Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and dials Iono's number; a few seconds later, she answers via video chat.
"Hello, 'ello, hola!" said Iono.
"Ciao, and bonjour, Iono." Lincoln replied.
"Linky!" Iono squeals. "How are you?!"
"I'm doing awesome, Iono." said Lincoln. "Anyway, I'm here in Levincia to return your sweater and I..." The call suddenly ends, surprising everyone.
"What happened?" asked Penny.
"Did we lose connection?" asked Lincoln. A few seconds later, he was tackle-hugged from behind and he feels something nuzzling his back, along with hearing Nemona growling; Lincoln looks behind him and blushes when he sees Iono.
"Linky! You're here!" said Iono.
"H-hi, Iono." said Lincoln.
"Would you mind letting him go?!" asked Nemona through clenched teeth and with one of her eyebrows twitching. Iono frowns as she releases Lincoln and walks around to the front of him.
"Here's your sweater back." said Lincoln as he pulls a garment bag out of his backpack and hands it to Iono.
"Thanks, cutie." said Iono as she takes her sweater out of the bag and puts it back on; she then kisses Lincoln on the cheek, making him blush some more, his sisters giggle, and Nemona clench her fists.
"Now that that's done, can we get going?" asked Nemona.
"What's the hurry?" asked Iono as she hooks one of her arms around one of Lincoln's while glaring at Nemona.
"We're heading for the Lurking Steel Titan." said Arven.
"What's that?" asked Iono. Arven then explains to Iono about how they were travelling around Paldea to find the Herba Mystica in order to heal his Mabosstiff.
"So we really want Mabosstiff to get better." said Leni.
"That is so cool." said Iono.
"Even if it's dangerous, I'll do anything to help a friend." said Lincoln. Iono trembles with emotion before she leaps at Lincoln and tackles him to the ground before she peppers his face with kisses.
"You are the cutest, nicest boy ever!" said Iono as she nuzzles Lincoln's cheek.
"T-Thanks, Iono." Lincoln stuttered. Nemona grabs the back of Iono's sweater and pulls her off.
"Anyway, we have to get going." said Nemona as she grabs Lincoln's hand and pulls him up off the ground while continuing to hold it.
"Is there a Delibird Presents store here in Levincia?" asked Clyde.
"Yeah, there is." said Iono as she glares at Nemona.
"Maybe we can check it out and see if there's any items we can use that can give us an advantage against the Titan." suggested Clyde.
"I can show you where it is." said Iono as she hooks one of her arms around one of Lincoln's.
"Thanks, Iono." said Lincoln.
"Lead the way then." said Nemona as she hooks one of her arms around the arm of Lincoln's that Iono wasn't holding; the two girls glare at each other.
The group head through Levincia, with Iono's fans watching them and supporting the Ionocoln pairing.
"You two belong together!" said an Iono fan.
"Don't let that Coral girl take him from you!" said another Iono fan.
"Or that Carmine girl!" said another Iono fan.
"I won't!" said Iono.
The group soon arrives at Levincia's Delibird Presents store; the group went inside and looked at the items the store was selling. Leni was looking at spoons that looked twisted.
"Hey, these spoons look bent up." Leni says to a clerk; the clerk looks at the spoons.
"Those are Twisted Spoons; they power up psychic type attacks of the Pokemon holding one." said the clerk.
"Oh; then I should, totes, buy one for Kirlia." said Leni.
"I'll buy one for my Kirlia also." said Clyde.
"I'll buy one for Meditite." said Lynn Jr.
"Excuse me." said Lucy from behind the clerk, scaring him; he takes a few deep breaths before turning towards Lucy who has holding a pair of black sunglasses. "What may this be?"
"Black Glasses; they power up a Pokemon's dark type moves." said the clerk.
"I guess I could use this to power up Greavard's Bite attack as well as other dark types moves she might learn." said Lucy.
"And I'll get one for Pawniard." said Lynn Jr.
"Hey, what's this stuff?" asked Lana, holding up a handful of sludge.
"EWW!" yelled Leni.
"That's Black Sludge; any poison type Pokemon holding it will have some of its health restored, but drains the health of non-poison types holding it." said the clerk.
"Cool; I'll buy one for Ekans." said Lana.
Lincoln was looking at a shelf full of evolution stones, with Nemona and Iono both at his side, and sees a yellow stone that looked like it had a flame in it.
"Hey, Leni." said Lincoln.
"Yes, Linky?" Leni replied.
"It's a Fire Stone." said Lincoln. "You can use it to evolve your Vulpix to a Ninetales."
"But you should wait until your Vulpix learns more of the moves she can only learn as she is now." suggested Arven.
"Okay, Arven." Leni replied with a smile, making Arven blush.
The group makes their purchases and equip the items they bought to the Pokemon they were for; after that, they leave the store and get ready to continue on their way.
"Can I come along with you to that Steel Titan?" asked Iono.
"How come?" Lynn replied.
"I wanna record you all battling it for my livestream channel." said Iono.
"You also want to spend more time with Lincoln, don't you." said Lucy from behind Iono, startling her.
"That too." said Iono with a blush.
"Sure, we don't mind the extra company." said Leni.
"Thank you." said Iono as she wraps her arms around Lincoln, making Nemona growl and do the same thing; Lincoln's face turns red at the fact that two girls are holding him at the same time.
"Let's go!" said Lana.
"Can I do my intro first?" asked Iono.
"Totes!" said Leni.
"Thanks, Leni." said Iono as she takes out her Rotom Phone and has it point at her. "Ladies and gentlemen; are you ready? Caught in my Electroweb your eyes are mine! Whosawhatsit? It's me; Iono! Hello, hola, bonjour! And now... it's time for... the Iono Zone!"
"Cool! I get to be in one of Iono's videos!" said Lana.
"My cutie and his sisters and friends are ready to search for something called the Lurking Steel Titan in the hopes it'll lead them to something to cure a sick and injured Mabosstiff that is the best Pokemon friend of Arven over there!"
"Which is why I want to get going right away." said Arven.
"So let's get going!" said Iono.
The group leaves the city and head north until they reach a part of Paldea known as East Province Area Three; everyone sees that it looked like a big mining facility.
"Cool!" said Lana.
They also look around at all the new kinds of Pokemon that were in the area, such as ones that looked like black rocks with one orange eye, and a rock wheel under each of them.
"What are those?" asked Lana as she points her Rotom Phone at one of the Pokemon.
"Rolycoly, the Coal Pokemon. On sunny days, Rolycoly will come out onto grassy plains and roll around. Then it will eat the grass that gets tangled in its wheel-like leg." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"I'll catch one later after we take care of business here." said Lynn. "I could use a rock type."
"So where's the Steel Titan located exactly?" asked Clyde.
"It should be to the west of where we are right now." said Arven.
"What kind of Pokemon do you think it is?" asked Penny.
"Well it's called a Steel Titan." said Clyde. "Meaning that it's most likely a steel type one."
"That sounds logical." said Penny.
"Types of Pokemon with advantages over steel types would be fire, fighting, and ground." said Nemona.
"I got plenty of fighting types." said Lynn with a smirk.
"My Greavard knows Dig." said Lucy.
"I got Vulpix on my side." said Leni.
"I got Barboach and Salandit; and my Rabsca knows some ground type moves." said Lana.
"I got my Pyroar and Torterra." said Clyde.
"And I have Pawmot, Okidogi, and Charcadet." said Lincoln.
"We should train them up a bit before we take the Steel Titan on." suggested Arven. "I want to be sure that we can beat it."
"Good idea, Arven." said Leni.
"Let's get started." said Lincoln. Everyone goes off to train up their Pokemon.
Lincoln's Pawmot learned Entrainment, and his Okidogi and Charcadet got stronger.
Clyde's Pyroar learned Crunch and his Torterra learned Synthesis.
Lynn's Crabrawler learned Brick Break and Slam, her Heracross learned Brick Break, and her Meditite learned High Jump Kick.
Lana trained her Salandit, Rabsca, and Barboach until Barboach learned Muddy Water. During the training, Salandit and Barboach both began to glow.
"Hey, guys; Salandit and Barboach are evolving!" said Lana. Everyone watched as Salandit began to glow; when she stopped, Salandit was taller and had a purple underside with dark pink markings.
Barboach now looked like a big blue catfish with cream-colored whiskers and underbelly, and a yellow w-shaped mark on his forehead. Lana points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Salandit.
"Salazzle, the Toxic Lizard Pokemon and the evolved form of Salandit. Salazzle makes its opponents light-headed with poisonous gas, then captivates them with alluring movements to turn them into loyal servants." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"Says here Salazzle learned Fire Lash when she evolved." said Lana.
"What's Barboach now?" asked Lynn.
"Let me check." said Lana as she points her Rotom Phone at her newly evolved Barboach.
"Whiscash, the Whiskers Pokemon, and the evolved form of Barboach. It is extremely protective of its territory. If any foe approaches, it attacks using vicious tremors." said Lana's Rotom Phone.
"And this says he learned Thrash, Tickle, Belch, and Zen Headbutt after she evolved." said Lana.
"Congratulations, Lana." said Lincoln.
Leni trained her Vulpix until she learned Extrasensory.
Lucy trained her Greavard until she learned Crunch.
Lana trained her Pokemon as well and they got stronger.
"You guys ready to take on a Titan Pokemon?" Lincoln asked the others.
"Yeah!" replied everyone else.
"Let's go!" said Lincoln.
The group look at the location of the next Titan to get their bearings; they then head toward the direction it was in.
Everyone soon reaches a small pit that had a ramp leading down into it; as they scope out the area, they see something large sticking out of the ground that looked like a smooth red head with a light orange lower jaw and blue eyes.
"What's that?" asked Lucy.
"Is that a really big worm?!" asked Lana as she drooled.
"Let me see." said Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at what they were looking at.
"Orthworm, the Earthworm Pokemon. When attacked, this Pokémon will wield the tendrils on its body like fists and pelt the opponent with a storm of punches." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Is that the Titan Pokemon?" asked Leni.
"Well, it looks plenty big." said Lynn.
"Oh yeah." said Lana as she licks her lips.
"If it is a steel type, I doubt you'd be able to bite into it." Lincoln tells his younger sister.
"And it would take you forever to eat something that big." said Lynn.
"Aww, man." said Lana with disappointment.
"Let's see if we can sneak up on it." suggested Penny.
"Yeah, I don't think it knows we're here." said Arven.
Everyone tries to quietly tiptoe over to the large Orthworm, but the instant they took a step, it looks over in their direction and starts tunneling underground and away from them.
"After it!" said Arven as everyone started chasing after their target.
"That thing is fast!" said Lynn as the group continues their pursuit.
"We should get our Cyclizars out." said Lana.
"I'll swap my Finizen for mine." said Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and makes the exchange while Clyde, Lynn, and Lana bring theirs out while Arven brings out Koraidon.
"I'll ride with Clyde." said Penny as she climbs onto Clyde's Cyclizar and sits behind him while wrapping her arms around him, making both of them blush.
"I'll ride with Arven." said Leni as she hops onto Koraidon and sits behind Arven while wrapping her arms around her chest, making the two blush.
"Lucy's with me." said Lynn as she grabs her goth sister's hand and pulls her up onto her Cyclizar.
"I'll ride with Linky!" said Iono as she hops onto Lincoln's Cyclizar and sits behind him while wrapping her arms around him and smirks at Nemona.
"I'll ride with him, too." said Nemona as she glares at Iono.
"And where are you going to sit?" asked Iono.
"I have an idea." said Nemona with a smirk as she hops up and sits on Lincoln's lap while wrapping her arms around his neck, making Lincoln's face turn red.
'Why didn't I think of that?!' Iono asked herself.
"Let's get it!" said Lynn as everyone rode off after the giant Orthworm; they chased it through multiple tunnels until Arven's Koraidon speeds ahead and block its path.
"Surround it!" said Lincoln. Everyone's Cyclizars help Arven's Koraidon fence in the Titan Pokemon.
"Ha; there's no escape now!" said Lynn Jr. The Titan Orthworm lets out a loud yell as it rises from the ground, revealing it's long segmented body; the second part was made of steel and had three blue tendrils coming out of each side of its body.
"Man, I wish I could eat that worm." said Lana. Orthworm slams its body onto the ground, sending a shockwave through it that shakes up everyone and knocks them to the ground.
"I think it wants to battle." said Lana as she and the others get up.
"Well, let's give it what it wants." said Lynn Jr as she and the others pull out pokeballs.
"Charcadet, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Charcadet's pokeball and releasing him.
"Go, Pyroar!" said Clyde, throwingj Pyroar's pokeball and releasing him.
"Vulpix, like, go!" said Leni, throwing Vulpix's pokeball and releasing her.
"Heracross, you're up!" said Lynn Jr, throwing Heracross' pokeball and releasing him.
"Go, Greavard." said Lucy, tossing Greavard's pokeball and releasing her.
"Whiscash, let's go!" said Lana as she throws Barboach's pokeball and lets him out of it.
"Toedscool, go!" said Arven, throwing a pokeball and releasing a pink, mushroom-like Pokemon with a pair of long, thin white legs. Leni points her Rotom Phone at Arven's Pokemon.
"Toedscool, the Woodear Pokemon. Toedscool lives in muggy forests. The flaps that fall from its body are chewy and very delicious." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"Flareon, let's go!" said Penny as she tosses a pokeball, releasing a small, quadrapedal reddish orange Pokemon with a cream-colored mane of fur on its head, and a big collar of it around its neck.
"So cute!" said Leni as she points her Rotom Phone at it.
"Flareon, the Flame Pokemon, and the evolved form of Eevee. Inhaled air is carried to its flame sac, heated, and exhaled as fire that reaches over 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit." said Leni's Rotom Phone.
"Pawmot, let's go!" said Nemona as she tosses a pokeball, letting out a Pawmot.
"Wow; you have a Pawmot also?" asked Lincoln.
"Yep." said Nemona. "So you and I have something in common, Lincoln." She then gives Lincoln a wink.
"Don't try anything!" said Iono as she tosses a pokeball, letting out her Mismagius.
"Wicked." said Lucy.
"I'll start!" said Lana. "Whiscash, use Mud-Slap!" Her Whiscash releases a stream of mud that hits the Orthworm; but to everyone's surprise, the attack gets absorbed into its body.
"What happened?" asked Lynn.
"I think Orthworm has the Earth Eater ability." said Penny.
"What's that?" asked Clyde.
"A Pokmeon with that ability that gets hit with a ground type attack receives no damage from them but gets healed instead." replied Penny.
"So, we have to avoid using ground type moves." said Lincoln. Lana returns Whiscash to his pokeball.
"Sorry, Whiscash." said Lana before putting Barboach's pokeball away and pulling another pokeball out from her waist. "Salazzle, go!" She throws Salazzle's pokeball and releases her.
"Charcadet, use Incinerate!" said Lincoln. Charcadet releases a beam of fire from his arms and it hits Orthworm, dealing super effective damage; the Orthworm charges at Charcadet and rams him with incredible force, knocking him back; Orthworm flinches in pain.
"Judging by how that Orthworm looked hurt after using that move, it must've used Take Down; causes recoil damage." said Penny.
"Greavard, use Crunch." said Lucy. Greavard leaps at the Orthworm and chomps down onto its body, dealing damage, and chipping off parts of its body.
"Looks like Crunch weakened its defense." said Penny. Orthworm's tail turns more metallic and it strikes Greavard, knocking her to the ground.
"Heracross, use Brick Break!" said Lynn; Heracross flies above the Orthworm and brings its hand down onto its head with a chop, dealing super effecite damage; it reacts by ramming Heracross with its head, sending it flying into a cliffside.
"That was either Tackle or Headbutt!" said Nemona.
"Vulpix, use Incinerate!" said Leni. Vulpix releases a beam of fire from her mouth and it hits Orthworm, dealing super effective damage; the Titan Pokemon wraps its body around Vulpix and begins squeezing her.
"That looks like Wrap!" said Lana.
"You let Leni's Vulpix go!" yelled Arven. "Toedscool, use Tackle!" Toedscool leaps at the Titan Pokemon and rams it, not dealing much damage, but making the giant Orthworm release its grip on Vulpix.
"Thanks, Arven!" said Leni. The Orthworm rams Toedscool with incredible force, knocking it back; the Orthworm flinches in pain.
"Flareon, use Ember!" said Penny. Flareon releases embers from its mouth and they hit the Titan Pokemon, dealing super effective damage. The Orthworm rams its head against Flareon, knocking it to the ground.
"Pawmot, Arm Thrust!" said Nemona. Her Pawmot leaps at the giant Orthworm and strikes it repeatedly with its paws, dealing super effective damage. The Orthworm rams its head against Pawmot, dealing damage, and knocking it back.
"Mismagius, Mystical Fire!" said Iono. Mismagius releases a stream of fire surrounded by fiery rings and it hits Orthworm, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it to the ground. It looks around at the group and suddenly burrows into the ground and tunnels away from them.
"It's getting away!" said Arven.
"Let's follow it; it may lead us to an Herba Mystica." said Lincoln as he and the others return their Pokemon to their pokeballs. Arven and Leni climb onto Korridon while the others climbed onto Cyclizars and they chased after the Titan Pokemon.
They chase it through some more mining tunnels while Iono records everything with her Rotom Phone.
"My cutie's group are now chasing the Lurking Steel Titan through East Province Area Three!" said Iono. "Will it lead us to the Herba Mystica needed to help Arven's Mabosstiff?!"
"I hope so!" Leni shouts from Arven's Koraidon.
The group chase the Titan Pokemon into a big pit and follow it all over; it soon stops at a large rock wall.
"Ha!" says Lynn as she and the others climb down from their Ride Pokemon and surround the giant Orthworm; it looks around at everyone before it punches the wall behind it and breaks it, revealing a cave opening.
"What's it doing?" asked Nemona.
"Maybe it's taking out its frustrations of losing?" suggested Clyde.
To everyone's surprise, the Orthworm reaches into the cave opening and pulls out a glowing white herb.
"The Herba Mystica!" shouts Arven.
"Get it!" said Lynn.
But the Titan Orthworm already eats it before flaring with a massive surge of energy.
"Looks like we're going into overtime!" said Lynn.
"Let's hit it with everything we got!" said Arven.
"You got it!" said Leni as everyone lets out the Pokemon they used before.
The Orthworm roars, and a sandstorm appears out of nowhere.
"Ugh, where did this come from?!" asked Iono.
"Orthworm must've used Sandstorm!" said Lincoln. "It'll damage any Pokemon bit by bit over time except rock, ground, and steel types."
"Then we should make this quick!" said Nemona.
"Charcadet, get under its belly and use Lava Plume!" said Lincoln. Charcadet nods as he runs over to Orthworm's belly and lets out a powerful explosion from his body and does super effective damage.
"Why let him get that close?" asked Clyde.
"Lava Plume could damage any other Pokemon around the one using it; I didn't want to risk any of your Pokemon get hurt." said Lincoln.
Nemona and Iono look at Lincoln with admiration at his consideration for the safety of their Pokemon before they each kiss him on the cheek, making his face turn red.
The Orthworm's head turns into a gray metal as it rams Charcadet, sending him flying, but not doing much damage.
"That was Iron Head!" said Nemona.
"At least Charcadet's a fire type; that makes him resistant to steel type moves." said Lincoln.
"Salazzle, use Fire Lash!" said Lana. Salazzle sticks her tounge out as fire covers it; she lashes out with it at Orthworm, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage, and weakening its defense. Orthworm then releases a stream of mud from its mouth that hits Salazzle in her face, dealing super effective damage, and lowering her accuracy.
"It must know Mud-Slap also!" said Arven.
"Heracross, use Arm Thrust!" said Lynn. Heracross flies at the Orthworm and strikes it with multiple palm thrusts, dealing damage to it, bit by bit; the Orthworm reacts by tackling him, sending him flying.
"Greavard, use Crunch again." said Lucy. Her Greavard chomps down on Orthworm again, dealing more damage and breaking off more parts of its body.
"Pyroar, Fire Fang!" said Clyde. Pyroar lunges at Orthworm while fire covered his fangs and he bites Orthworm, dealing super effective damage; fire covered the Titan Pokemon's body.
"It's burned." said Lincoln. Orthworm releases a stream of mud at Pyroar and hits him, dealing super effective damage, and lowering his accuracy.
"Flareon, use Fire Fang!" said Penny. Flareon leaps at Orthworm with fiery fangs and bites it, dealing super effective damage; Orthworm wraps its body around Flareon and squeezes it.
"Toedscool, use Screech!" said Arven. Toedscool lets out a loud shriek and releases soundwaves at the Titan Pokemon, weakening its defense, and loosening its grip on Flareon, allowing it to get free.
"Vulpix, Ember!" said Leni. Vulpix releases embers from her mouth and they hit Orthworm, dealing super effective damage.
"Pawmot, Arm Thrust!" said Nemona. Pawmot leaps at Orthworm and strikes it repeatedly with its paws, dealing super effective damage; The Titan Pokemon rams its head against it, but not dealing much damage due to burn weakening its attack strength.
"Misagius, use Hex!" said Iono. Mismagius forms a black ball of energy with a red eye above it; the red eye releases energy rings from it and they hit Orthworm, dealing damage.
"Hex does more damage to Pokemon with status conditions." said Lucy. The Orthworm leaps at Mismagius while its tail turned to metal and it hits Mismagius with it, damaging it. Orthworm flinches in pain from its burn; sand from the sandstorm hits the group's Pokemon, doing damage to them.
"Time to end this; Charcadet, Flame Charge!" said Lincoln. Charcadet runs at Orthworm while fire surrounds his body and he leaps up at Orthworm; Charcadet rams the Titan Pokemon up its lower jaw, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it on its back, unconscious.
"We did it!" said Clyde.
"We took that Pokemon down!" said Lynn Jr.
"My cutie's group has beaten the Lurking Steel Titan!" said Iono.
"Let's go check out where that Orthworm got the Herba Mystica and see if there's any more." said Arven as he and the others return their Pokemon to their pokeballs before they all run into the cave.
They all enter a cavern and they all begin their search.
"Over here!" shouts Clyde. Everyone else looks towards him and sees the Herba Mystica.
"That's it!" said Arven as he runs over to the herb and carefully picks it.
"Wow!" said Iono as she points her Rotom Phone at the Herba Mystica for her viewers to see. Arven pulls his book out of his backpack and opens it.
"This is the Salty Herba Mystica." said Arven. "It helps with aching hands and feet; good for neuropathy and numbness. When you get muscle weakness, it supposedly builds up strength again."
"Wouldn't mind having some of that after extreme workouts." said Lynn.
"Me, too." said Lincoln.
"Same here." said Clyde.
"This'll definitely help Mabosstiff feel even better." said Arven.
"Time to get cooking!" said Clyde.
Everyone pitches in to help Arven make sandwiches while he prepares the Herba Mystica; soon, a lot of sandwiches were made. Lincoln's group let out all their Pokemon, including Arven's Mabosstiff.
"Got something for you, buddy." said Arven as he breaks a sandwich into small pieces and feeds them to Mabosstiff.
"How are you feeling now, Mabosstiff?" asked Lana. Mabosstiff lets out a loud woof.
"He woofed!" said Arven.
"So?" asked Lynn Jr.
"It's...it's been so long since I heard that woof." said Arven while wiping tears from his eyes. "Mabosstiff is definitely getting better." He reaches into his backpack and pulls out several badges with an image of a chunk of metal on it. "Here, everyone; Titan Badges for each of you.
"Whoa, thanks." said Lana, looking at her badge.
"It's funny how a gym leader is being given a badge." said Iono.
"Thanks, Arven." said Lincoln.
"I, totes, love it." said Leni, making Arven blush.
Moments later, everyone was eating sandwiches. Iono and Nemona each sat next to Lincoln, Clyde and Penny were sitting next to each other, and Leni and Arven were next to each other.
