Once he and the other Power Rangers had made their way back to their respective homes, Tommy found himself reflecting with some surprise on the fact that Halloween seemed to have snuck up on him while he wasn't watching. He hadn't paid much attention to the turning of the months, and he'd usually had too much on his mind to pay attention to the decorations that had steadily been going up all around town.

For a long moment, Tommy found himself wondering what the rest of the Animorphs were doing, back in Century City without him, but then he forced his mind back to where he was and what he was doing; he and the rest of the Animorphs would probably have another mission together soon, and he could ask if he had the chance.

School with the Power Rangers went about as well as he could ask for, though there was still a part of Tommy's mind that was stuck on the thought of Rita's forces attacking the place. Rita wasn't nearly as concerned about secrecy as the Yeerks – witness her many, many attacks using giant monsters – so there was no real reason that Tommy could see for her not to attack them while he and the Power Rangers were in class.

The Yeerks would have done it in a heartbeat, if they'd had a way to invisibly spy on their enemies.
