Mo Ran walks into their room. He's practically moved into the Red Lotus pavilion. Wanning didn't mind and auntie said they might as well. They are a family.
Him, Wanning and this baby. A family.
The thought makes him grin like a fool.
He's unbearably happy about this baby.
He's worried about uncle but that's still months away. For now he should enjoy the days. They will be extremely busy later on.
He find their room empty. Mo Ran frowns, Wanning should be in here. Mo Ran looks around the room as he fixes his robes. He's got to help around again but he promised Wanning he'd be around to check on him. Mo Ran looks around, searching for Wanning in places his wife would be. He grabs his coat, frowning, he can't find his baobei. He puts his coat on. When did Wanning leave? Without telling him?
If that's the case something must have happened.
He opens the door, exiting into the cold air. The sun shining, reflecting off the snow. Mo Ran then pauses. At the tree is Wanning. Mo Ran mouth opens, breathless at the sight. His lover is once again dressed like he was at Qing su town. The blue robes, the thick large scarf. The only different is his hair style. It's up in Wanning usual ponytail. Still equally beautiful.
Quickly Mo Ran closes the door and jogs to his lover. His pregnant lover. "Wanning." Mo Ran call out. Wanning turns his attention to his lover, he gives him a smile. Mo Ran returns it with his own. But the rest of his face gives away the fact he's worried. "Baobei, it's cold. You and the baby should be inside where it's warm." He places his hands around Wanning, pulling him in close.
Wanning glares at him, pouting cutely. He places his red tipped hands on top of Mo Ran chest. Keeping some distance between them. "I'm layered up. I'm not cold. I don't need you to fuss over us." Wanning tells him.
"But you get cold easily. It's best to be safe. You could develop a cold." Mo Ran answers. He swipes Wanning knees, lifting him up effortlessly in the bridal carry.
"Mo Weiyu!" Wanning shouts angrily, but he wraps his arms around Mo Ran shoulders to not fall. "Put me down." He commands, hissing like a cat.
"No." Mo Ran answers turning back towards the building.
"I'm going to meet madam Wang, now put me down." Wanning demands.
"No need." A new voice calls from behind. Mo Ran turns around to get a look. It's Chuqing standing behind them with a smile on her face. She had seen the whole thing. The scene had warmed her heart. It had even brought memories of her and her own husband. How long ago was that? She misses him. The feeling worse with the knowledge it hasn't been long and they are still months away from seeing him again. "I came so Yuheng wouldn't need to walk to me, I wasn't sure your morning sickness got better." She explains.
"Mo Ran put me down." Wanning demands desperately.
"But auntie knows." Mo Ran says.
"Doesn't mean we act shamelessly in front of her." Wanning hisses, cheek pink. Eyes going to him then Chuqing. She lets out a chuckle at Wanning. Finding the reaction cute. She walks closer to them.
"You both don't need to worry about me. It's sweet seeing you both show affection. Even more than a married couple." She slows as she watches Wanning and Mo Ran look at each other. Wanning looks away, face completely worried. Mo Ran turn his head to face his aunt. He clears his throat.
He lets out a chuckle. "Actually... we are married." Mo Ran grins. Chuqing stops. Eyes open wide as she look at them.
"Excuse me?" She asks, not truly able to believe she heard that right.
"We have been for six years almost." Mo Ran explains as he finally lets his wife down.
"I-it's been more than six years, six years and five months exactly." Wanning answers.
"How?" She wonders. They got married before Yuheng died. During the time Ran-er disliked Yuheng. How does that happen?
"During my first mission. In Butterfly town. We got married while going undercover for a ghost marriage ceremony." Mo Ran says holding Wanning close, not wanting his wife to get cold.
"It wasn't planned. It was an accident. But it's legal." Wanning adds, still unable to look at madam Wang.
"The marriage wasn't consummated until recently." Mo Ran answers, laughing at Wanning glaring at him.
"Oh my." Chuqing says rubbing her forehead. After a minute she looks up at them, seeing them looking worried. As if she'll retract her willingness to help. She gives them a smile. "I give you both my blessing. I would have loved to see it but I'm here now." She tells them. Mo Ran and Wanning look at each, smile growing.
"That's good to hear. I have to go. See you later." He says to Wanning who nods. "Bye auntie. Take care of Wanning for me." He says jogging past her. The two watch him.
They look curiously as he pauses. Swiftly he spins around, running back to them. He jogs back to Wanning. A smile on his face. Wanning watches curiously to what the man is doing. Before he can asks what's wrong Mo Ran cups both cheeks, bringing his face into a kiss. Soft and quick. Nothing like it usually is. Wanning face erupts, they can see steam coming out.
"I almost forgot my goodbye kiss." He tells them. With a smug grin he turns and runs away.
Chuqing looks at Wanning to find the man hiding his face in his hands. She does catch his ears burning bright red. She covers her mouth, trying to hide the chuckle that escapes and the smile growing on her face. She can see now how Mo Ran mostly leads their relationship. But from the way Yuheng ears are red the older one doesn't mind. How sweet.
It was a good choice to bless them.
"Shall we go inside." Chuqing suggest. Silently Wanning nods, still hiding behind his hands. Chuqing leads them inside. Hopefully Wanning gets over it so they can talk face to face. They still have much to discuss. And much to plan.
"I'm extremely sorry you had to witness that." Wanning mutters, embarrassed and mortified that Mo Ran did that in front of her.
"No need for that. It's sweet to see. It's also an honor considering I'm the only one to know about your relationship. Correct?"
"Correct." Wanning answers.
"I'm sure Ran-er just wants to show you off as his wife." Chuqing leads them to the dining table. "Now for the reason I'm here."
Wanning looks up from his hands, sitting down.
