Hey guys Kurama here with another chapter of DXD: Like A Shadow and I hope you will enjoy this as much as I will.

"Talk," someone says

"Dragon, Game Talk/thought/spells, Quest/Rewards! Someone says.

"Thoughts," Someone says

Disclaimer: I do not own this story if I did, I would be sleeping in a bed full of money.

Let's begin!

"Alright new record, 15 hours of sleep. Some people will think that I'm insane but joke's on them, I probably am crazy! That's not any better now that I think about it." I say, ending on a depressing note as I take a look at my surroundings once more.

The room is kinda awesome since I have my own bathroom inside of it and I have a gaming station set up but that's not what truly matters as of this moment.

I need to start preparing for when canon starts so that means leveling up as fast as possible so I'm not sitting duck waiting for dear old dad to clean up my mistakes.

I pull my [Skill] list to see what I've got so far.

Sub-Species (?)

Okay I think I can work with this.

This is litrerally early game abilities so I can't expect anything too crazy but one thing I can make sure is that they are at least up to snuff.

Selecting the zombie dungeon, I find myself in a post apocalyptic version of Kuoh Academy.

Quest gained!

First Dungeon

Objective: Kill 100 undead (0/100)

Bonus Objective 1: Kill the Dungeon Boss (0/1)

Bonus Objective 2: Clear Dungeon without being below 50% of your Health Point.

Rewards: 500 EXP, 1 Gacha Token and 500$.

Bonus Rewards 1: 1000 EXP, 2 Gacha Tokens and 1000$.

Good, now then let's have some fun, shall we?

I see a zombie so instinctively I form a longsword made out of pure light energy and cut his head clean off in an instant.

Zombie killed x1

Gained 200 EXP

Gained 20 Stat Points

You have levelled up twice!

Welp, one down and plenty more to go.

I activate my Sacred Gear in my left hand and sprout my Fallen Angel wings as I then fly up in the air in search of more zombies to kill.

-Timeskip-

"This is getting really boring." I deadpan, sniping another zombie with a light blue tendril to its back as I end it with a Light Spear to the head.

You have levelled up twice.

Thanks to the massacre I just committed I'm now level 20, which isn't too bad for a start.

My [Light Manipulation] and [Shadow Magic] are both level 30 and my [Evil Dragon Gear] is level 15.

It's a pretty good start for someone who entered the dungeon life half an hour ago.

I fly in a random direction and then descent just a little as a [Notification] pops up.

*WARNING*

[Mini-Boss Zombie Legion will now spawn]

In front of me, a massive pile of zombies fused into one horrifying entity that should be killed on fucking sight!

It's just so stupidly gross that it deserves to die but calming myself down, I use [Observe] on the zombie legion.

Name: Zombie Legion

LVL: 20

HP: 2000/2000

The only thing I can note about it is that it's very tanky as it then starts charging at me, causing me to fly up.in the air to evade its attacks.

As it keeps on going forward, I use the chance to bombard it with [Shadow Blasts].

"See ya later!"

It dies after one minute of non-stop attacks on its back causing me to sigh in relief. If it had hit me at full force then I could've died.

You have levelled up 3 times!

I need to learn summoning magic. I might be able to easily overpower anything with pure offensive capabilities after a few levels but... one hit from these things and I'm pretty much in danger.

Or at least that's what I think.

A chest then appears where the mini-boss died, as I quickly jog over to it and open the chest.

Items added

10 Stat Crystals

5000$

Robe of the dying Sage

Boots of the fleeting Hermit

Equipping the two accessories, I realize that I can now deal with the boss since it should be an easy fight with how strong currently I am.

I arrive at the ruined version of the Kuoh Academy's gym and then wait for a while but nothing shows up to fight me.

Am I not at the correct spot or did I not kill enough zombies?

*SPAWNING DUNGEON BOSS*

[Boss Zombie Death Knight has appeared]

As I read this, the undead looks at me with nothing but hatred in its eyes, but I know that this undead has an unhealthy amount of hatred for the living.

It wields a large broadsword that's around triple my size, has a large shield that it could use to block most attacks, and probably bash my head in dark plate armour.

I use [Observe] on it to see its stats!

Name: Death Knight

LVL: 25

HP: 10000/10000

MP: 0/0

STR: 125

END: 100

DEX: 15

INT: 50

WIS: 50

CHA: 1

LCK: 5

[Death Knights Broadsword]

Description: This is the weapon wielded by a Strong Death Knight to slaughter its enemies to great effect, it has a special curse that makes it so that any who are of a holy race cannot wield it.

Deals STR plus 100 Physical Damage

[Death Knights Shield]

Description: This is a large shield wielded by a Strong Death Knight to defend it from harm and attacks. It cannot be pierced by weak attacks.

This shield blocks 50% of all the damage from Physical Attacks

This shield cannot block magical attacks

10000 HP! That Death Knight has the highest amount of HP I've ever seen on any boss in my two and its physical stats are all high except for DEX.

That sword can kill me with two swings if he hits me, but fortunately, I can fly and his shield can't block magical attacks.

The Death Knight starts running towards me with surprising speed and I cast [Shadow Bind] to paralyze him and it works to perfection.

I then start spamming a combination of Light Spears and [Shadow Blasts] as the Death Knight howls in pain at my attack for a few seconds before rushing me with renewed vigour.

The Death Knight approaches and slashes its broadsword at me as I attempt to dodge it and succeed, after I dodge the blade I cast [Shado Blasts].

The blasts hit its shoulder before exploding and knocking the Death Knight to the ground.

Seeing my chance to end this guy once and for all I rapidly spam [Shadow Blast] three times on the visible chest of the Death Knight and watch in maybe a bit too much delight as it kicks and screams in pain, but I avoid it and continue its suffering.

The Death Knight immediately gets blasted by a large number of tendrils that originate from his sword while spears of light pierce its body, with it realizing that this may very well be the last moments of its undead life.

The shadows have already covered his entire body and he's now dying for good.

The Death Knight falls to the ground, now nothing but a corpse.

Huh, I did it.

"I won!"

Killed [Death Knight LVL 25] x1

You have levelled up 5 times!

I got a stupid amount of EXP for that kill, and I also got a strange item dropped

Items Added!

10,000$

3 Gacha Tokens

Skill Book: Necromancy

Dagger of Set

Now the money is normal, I defeated a really difficult boss of course I should get some money but that dagger is strange to me for some reason.

Dagger of Set

Rank: D

Description: The Dagger of Set was a dagger used by the late princess Ahmanet in her attempt to find a mortal man for Set, the Egyptian god of death, storms, and chaos, to inhabit.

Effects: Increases Necromancy damage by 5% and decreases Necromancy spells by 2.5%.

Gives out Paralysis and Drain statuses on enemies.

What an useful item this will be for my new ability.

I mean, it's not everyday where you see a Fallen Angel use Necromancy to fight 'cause most of us prefer to ourbown innate power, which isn't too bad but it makes us complacent which is why we lost the Great War.

Or at least that's what I think.

With that done, I had finally completed the quest in the dungeon.

Quest completed!

First Dungeon

Objective: Kill 100 undead (100/100)

Bonus Objective 1: Kill the Dungeon Boss (1/1)

Bonus Objective 2: Clear Dungeon without being below 50% of your Health Point.

Rewards: 500 EXP, 1 Gacha Token and 500$.

Bonus Rewards 1: 2000 EXP, 2 Gacha Tokens and 1000$.

Bonus Rewards 2: 5000 EXP, 3 Gacha Tokens and 2000$.

New Dungeon Available: Goblin

You have levelled up 4 times!

I have had enough for today so I exit out of the dungeon as I then lay on my bed with a content smile.

"Hey kid, that power's coming from you? H-holy shit you really are my son. Looks Shemhazai owes me a few drinks~" Dad says, stepping into the room as I stand to look at him.

"Wait, you can sense that? Also, did you just admit to betting on my potential as a fighter?" I ask him.

"Who the hell can't? Your mana is so high that you're basically acting as a beacon for all to see. I suspect that you keep this new training of yours, you should be able to get another pair of wings within the week. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go see Shemhazai for that bet." He says before exiting the room, making me question how to supress my mana so I don't metaphorically flash everyone.

But more importantly, he said that I would be able to get my second pair of wings should I keep grinding.

How does that work anyway?

By leveling up.

The level required for you to become a four winged Fallen Angel is 50, then 75 for six wings and so on.

That's great 'cause I'm halfway there so learning about this definitely provided me with some motivation but alas, I need to rest.

Well I could do that or...

I pull out 5 [Gacha Tokens] out of my [Inventory] and use [Observe] on one of them.

[Gacha Token]

Description: Allows one pull of the Gacha, granting you a random skill/item/perk/companion

I wonder which skill, item, perk, or companion I will get.

Rolling...

Item gained

The True Dragon Ball Collection (Real World)

Rarity: E

Description: A box holding every single Manga volume and CD of the entire Dragon Ball franchise (GT included). The CDs will work on any device as long as they fit.

Well, I suppose it would be nostalgic to watch this series again, seeing as this world has a cheap version of it.

And who knows, I might be able to make a franchise out of this when I need a source of income that doesn't come from the [Dungeons].

Now, next pull.

Item gained

Healing Potion

Rarity: E

Description: A Potion that can restore Health.

Restores some Health upon consumption.

That could be useful for when I'm in a tricky situation.

Next pull.

Item gained

Mana Potion

Rarity: E

Description: A Potion that can restore Mana.

Restores 500 MP upon consumption.

Next pull.

Item gained

Bottle of Water

Rank: E

Description: It's a bottle of water. What did you expect?

Huh uh... rolling again 'cause I'm not stopping at a fucking bottle of water.

Item gained

Cerberus Fang (Solo Leveling)

Rarity: None

Description: A Fang that can be obtained by slaying Cerberus.

This can be sold for a great price.

I think I'm gonna stop for now 'cause if I keep going I'm gonna lose it.

With that, I lie back on my bed and fall asleep.

END!

Okay the 2nd chapter is here and hot dayum do you guys like this 'cause in less a day of this being published it got beyond the 100 favourite and follower mark so thank you and here's hoping that you'll like this as it goes on.

Response to reviews.

c1Lamont: I already did the whole Vrirtra Sacred Gear thing in the old version of this fic but I agree it would've been a bit better than the Twice Critical as I forgot that it wasn't like the Boosted Gear in terms of abilities.

FinalKingdomHearts: I didn't see that it read that but I fixed it so it should be fine now.

SvenTheDecoy: Read the response below you as it should explain my reasoning as to why I didn't want Jin to become a Dragon early.

portal9999: I wanted to try something with the Fallen Angel and didn't think much about the Dragons since they're weak to Ascalon and whatnot. Plus, a dragon with a dragon based Sacred Gear sounded way too OP in my head and it wouldn't have been a pleasing story to me.

shypunk: I forgot about that.

Sh0ckWav3: Most of its abilities are locked as a way for Jin to not become too OP early.
