~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 19: The Biosyn Garden Laboratory ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

/The air is thick with the plumes of rain, and white-patched outcroppings that dot across the horizon and eastern terrace. This is the area where they had transported the most recent specimens, and of course the air here was dark and tense as though a thousand different projects kept on whirring to life in the background. On the top of the door before the large, rectangular misty green room were the words: "Warning: Decompression only Zone Past this Point. Travel Lightly, Wear Protective Gloves." Along the outcropping to these underground hall of sorts, were also ominous looking barrels and boxes. The crates had on the top of them the unmistakable writing: "Biosyn: Region 4 Shipping Locking Codes." A large, thunderous shape bellowed nearby across the Ice-covered basin which doubled as a station.*

*The camera and window pans out to reveal a large hallway, slinking around in a circular motion which loops back in on itself. This was the experimental isotopes center for Isla Muerta. It felt like an abandoned underground labyrinth, that had been worn down yet well lived in. The curious part about the story of this area is it doubled over many ancient walls, which lead over to the Winter Woodlands part of the Island some 90 kilometers away where our group of hunters…including Owen and Muldoon, had discovered the secret coordinates for the Megalodon. The long, sloping corridor of this area goes straight up two sets of badly worn stairs…with water tanks on both sides….and up to a giant viewing platform window which looks straight out across the field of experiments. This was the chamber everyone who visited the Island never forgot, because they had no idea how integral it was to the entire experience. It was full of green silhouettes across what appeared to be a field of testing stations, at least a hundred or more that filled out the entire structure. What was most astounding about this area is every green shape was an experimental site, a smaller lab where Dinosaurs and other specimens were tested for their reflexes and resolve. It was the garden Laboratory for Isla Muerta, a giant icy lab that was covered in green containment units with almost a green-house effect from one end to the other. There in the center of the station was a giant control panel switch, which had the ancient writings of the tribes who run this Island written on the inside and outside of the hinge. It was obvious and more than clear, this was the precise testing station for the newest Embryos and experiments which couldn't be easily catalogued or controlled….since this was Biosyn's larger than life garden view Laboratory near the peak of the swirling trail which heads straight up the mountain. It is in this same lab that hundreds of green, glowing test tubes could be seen….and it was from this corridor one could imagine the danger you'd be in if you traveled outside into the winding passage that led to the Volcano. Isla Muerta had at least 2 different, large volcanoes each positioned at separate sections of the Ice shelf. Down here in this forbidden laboratory of ancient science, they called this Sector Z.*

*Fade in briefly to Icy tundra Woodland region of Isla Muerta, at 4PM right as dusk was coming in. A large outcropping of tall Maplewood trees can be encountered all across the exterior, lined up perfectly in a long row each perfectly fitting next to the other. The 4 hunters cautiously exited the Cabin, making their way along a narrow long Icy ridge. This ridge extended many kilometers directly next to a monorail which seemed to still be partly active, running in and out of the nearly secluded summit station.*

Owen Grady: "That's it girl, get out of the way…..Quickly get out here Diego, and open the main gate. Let's let the Tyrannosaurus have the breathing room he needs in this all new land…"

Diego: "You better know what you're doing, compadre…it'll tear us apart in a new York minute.."

Claire: "Oh yeah, this will be no problem at all. Up and out, let's go. We'll leave it as bait.."

*The giant padlock door that holds the younger Tyrannosaurus Rex inside its enclosure is opened as the lock pops off. For the first time, the huge Tyrannosaurus roars with ferocious tenacity and begins coming outside in the Icy woodland. It glares at the 4 hunters, almost noticing Owen by instinct and snapping its jaws around Diego's arm nearly ripping it off.*

Sedated Younger Tyrannosaurus: "ROOOOOOARR! GRAAAAAAAAWRR!" ((It snaps a tree to pieces, stepping on it and thrashing another to the ground.))

Muldoon: "Told you bloody people, it was a terrible idea to bring this beast here…Alright, now to Plan B. *he shoots four tranquilizers into the massive Dinosaur*

Owen: "What now? It should be asleep, right…so just let it do its thing…and lets make our way up the mountain to see what's over there."

Muldoon: "Yes….Let it walk off and bloody leave us alone, and let's continue up the ridge."

Diego: "That sounds like a good solution to me right now….But watch out amigo, don't look back…Leave the Tyrannosaurus here…..If he wants to be of assistance somewhere, he can do what he does best.."

Owen: "Meaning if he wants to kill other Dinosaurs? Heck, it might work out in our favor…just watch."

Claire: "Meaning…anything. Think about it, like Muldoon said the first time. This is Site C, out here."

*Transitions to aerial view of Isla Muerta at night, facing the large selection of swamps which lead into the Icy tundra and underwater passage. This second sector of the Island was far more dangerous, as it is where Dodgson spent a lot of his time perfecting his craft. Different Dinosaurs and reptiles from various regions of the world were found here, with strange carvings on the wall denoting their place. Each one was terrifying in its own right, since often they were the result of 2 or more Dinosaurs and Lizards being merged into a new animal….with other older primate blood mixed in…often with disastrous results. Worse still, it was obvious this part of the experimental research camp was where ancient humans or cave-men were also housed….specifically their DNA and hair fragments. They had been trying for years, to combine ancient cave-men, primates and Dinosaurs together into a new species….and each time it was done, it was evident and clear Biosyn was having terrible results. Now, Dodgson had taken over this part of the process and was trying to clone a new creature….nothing too out of the ordinary, just a Spinosaurus which had large primate arms and the wings of a Dimorphodon. Unfortunately though, because of several large breakouts within Sector Z the facility had to be temporarily abandoned….and now this was where something absolutely terrifying stalked in the cool darkness. It was inevitable, just like it was with John Hammond's dream being further violated and sliced up. Someone had stolen InGen's original technology, and rather than learn anything about the process it takes….simply had taken over and started taking the next steps towards clone creation. That someone was the company Biosyn Genetics, and they had gotten very far in the process of creating working prototypes for their drugs. The problem of course had been, the results so far proved inconclusive. There would be something here from the Velociraptor family, or Brontosaurus family, yet they wouldn't resemble anything worthwhile or testable.*

*And by the time the DNA was slapped together, it barely resembled the original model of animal or species at all. During the process, the most well known supporter of their future growth….Dr. Henry Wu, had taken a keen interest in Isla Muerta. This is how the entire Island was covered in large cranes, abandoned worker sites and most importantly…underground mines. Dozens and dozens of mines, from one end of the swampland in Isla Muerta to the other. There were creatures who could fly in the water, or even inside liquified magma that were loose across the outcropping. In the process, there were other experiments which should not have been made such as the Zylo-Pterosaur disappearing/reappearing within deep silent corridors. Even in spite of this, it was clear that progress had been made on re-constructing the CRAY computer. Steingarten was afraid the problem had nearly outgrew something they could control, as there was a Dinosaur reptile loose which is capable of climbing in and out of liquified sand….and even climbing straight up cliffs with its forearms in spite of it having T-Rex DNA. The number one thing Biosyn Genetics wanted, it seems was finally within grasp while creating side effects. Yet there was another large problem to deal with now…..the access codes for this massive Laboratory had switched places during a routine security update. And much like other disasters before it, such as Chernobyl, there was now something absolutely disastrous stalking the halls. A half worm, half Dinosaur type creature had taken up residence deep within the facility….and clearly it wasn't interested in new visitors. Many of the personnel who control the garden Observatory floor, had fled the complex as soon as they learned of the breakout. This included Nelle Sorkin, the official cousin of Laura Sorkin. She had joined the Laboratory staff soon after she learned how Joe Rossiter quietly took over Sector Z. Yet now in spite of that, the small veneer of civilization that was created on Muerta a few years ago….was about to be ruthlessly, unapologetically disturbed once again. Life found a way in…*

/The Sun fades into the backdrop, as the setting grows dark and cold. It begins to look much more like a blizzard than anything resembling normal scenarios, or a normal landscape. Everything in the area starts to glow in an eerie ambience, on the outside of Isla Muerta….Site C, the forgotten Island.*

Muldoon: "Alright, here's the deal…We have to make our way up the ridge as fast as we can through-out the next 2 hours. See that corner of the ridge, that leads upward into the central columns of this upcoming walkway that travels across the Eastern transport bridge…That likely goes around in a swirl 'till you come on the inside of the volcanoes a few kilometers out."

Diego: "And what you mean to say is…We got to travel all the way through it, then right?"

Muldoon: "That's what I'm saying yes, and we have to be extra careful here to top it off."

Owen: "What in the…What is that huge cavern over there then?"

Claire: "It looks like some kind of strange science experiment….forgive me yet I don't think we should be here at all right now."

*What Owen is referring to, is a large eerie walkway above the Icy Wooded Tundra. And at the West side of this walkway is a giant sign that says "WARNING: COMPOUND X ISOTOPE IS FOUND THIS WAY. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY BEYOND THIS POINT, INSIDE THE ISOLATED ZONE" , and then on the other end of that same walkway is a second sign…this one which says "WARNING: COMPOUND Z IS FOUND BEYOND THIS POINT. AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY MAY ENTER THE VIEWING AREA." Both of these strange, though puzzling signs are directly hanging over a walkway covered in green silhouettes. And as Owen and Diego begin to realize this, their eyes go wide with the mystery of it all. There is a giant corridor at the top of this ridge, and it leads out to an exclusive RESTRICTED AREA in which hundreds….perhaps even a thousand green silhouettes are found buzzing alongside machines. The foreboding feeling only begins here, as it unfolds out to a massive viewing window at the top which is well over 500 feet in length and 50 meters in height at its base. This eerie, dark hallway with the window looks directly outside over a field of hundreds of test-tubes….which appear to have this green mist surrounding them making it explicitly clear this is an experimental Garden zone. And most intriguingly of all, the Embryo type constructs that litter this place are isolated by different sounds. The compounds within these rooms were being combined together, from one Dinosaur or lizard type specimen to the other. And from here presumably, their Blood cells were merged together to create some of the terrifying denizens of this ancient land. One chime from one side of the corridor actually opens some of the doors where these Laboratory pods are being experimented with, and presumably re-designed by some variation or other of mad scientist and automated drone. As you listen to the sounds closely, you begin to hear it….a pulsing, almost growling sound that begins to get more menacing as you listen for longer periods of time. It was obvious this area was part of the Site C restricted section….also known as Sector Z. And Diego, Muldoon and their hunting partners were about to walk straight into it.*

Claire: "Hey guys, I think something massive is following us….. (Claire says a she screams in terror, and runs along the Icy walkway across the bridge to begin entering the green misty corridor.) Look out!"

Owen: "What the…..What the hell!?"

*Suddenly, out of nowhere a Konis Tarbosaurus crashes through the Icy wall on the other side of Diego. It then teleports…..from one end of the corridor to the other in a flash. The grizzly hunter Diego thinks for one moment that he sees it on the right side of the corridor, only to notice that quickly changes as it instantly teleports...into thin air, and pops up behind him on the far left of the corridor.*

Konis Tarbosaurus: "GRAAAAAAAAAWWRRR! RAWWRR! ROOOOARR!" ((The hideous creature's massive head, which looks like a giant venomous praying mantis combined with a younger tyrannosaur, suddenly flies out from the right hand wall….slashing Diego's left hand entirely off. Out of nowhere, the massive creature had avoided all of Muldoon's bullets and anything Owen threw at it, simply by way of teleportation. This was the first Dinosaur the four of them had ever encountered, who could actually teleport throughout the whole area…..and this put it at a distinct advantage in terms of lethality. One second you might think it was forty feet up, yet because it has some of the DNA from a rare type of Snake and other hideous Dinosaur such as the Oviraptor….it can also teleport 500 feet out of nowhere, to the other side…even directly behind you, without a care in the world. So that the second you blink, this creature has disappeared….and reappeared behind you in certain cases. The worst part being, this type of Tarbosaurus couldn't be tracked by hunters….due to its odd and quite horrifying ability of teleportation….which although not turning it invisible, gave it the ability to pop in and out…so that the second you walk down the wrong walkway….It will already be there, staring you in the face.))

Muldoon: "Bloody hell…this thing can teleport…RUN!" ((Muldoon shouts, as he shoots off more than 400 buck shots into its back as it emerges from the right hand corridor. As soon as he runs, Diego is limping his way across the walkway and applying dozens of excess gauze to his nearly destroyed hand….trying to make it up the stairs, for the only way to survive.))

Claire: "Teleport!? That can't be possible…"

Owen: "Oh forget it…The boundaries of what we thought would be possible went out the window, the second we landed on Site C….these things aren't Dinosaurs, Claire….they're like wizardry monsters!"

Diego: "Oh for god's sake Owen, what the heck are you talking about esse…Help me get out of here, wizardry…we aren't at Wizards of the Coast you fool!"

Owen: "What? Haven't you guys ever played Magic the Gathering? It was, just an inside joke…"

Muldoon: "I think right now, if you'd listen to me….this is the last time to wax all philosophical on anyone. We need to get the hell out of here, race up the stair case and hope that thing can't teleport through the dam walls because I bet you Dr. Malcolm is somewhere in here….and the only way to go is up to where that window is…"

Diego: "Up, andale andale….Up the stairs! HURRY! ((Diego shoots off twenty five incendiary rounds into the massive Tarbosaurus Hybrid's jaws, knocking it through the wall. Yet because it also has Gorilla DNA….it barely feels a thing, tears off the west wall locking onto Diego's foot nearly sawing it off.))

Diego: "AGGHHHHHhhhh!" ((He fires off both machine guns into the Dinosaur's massive jaws.))

Konis Tarbosaurus: "RAAAAAAAAWRR! GRAAAAAAAWRR! ARROOOARR! ((The massive Dinosaur knocks the staircase sideways, sending Muldoon tumbling into the darkness who suddenly rolls 3 screens to the right. They were being chased through a dark tunnel, which ricochets from the left and right side. The massive Dinosaur's jaws came this close to Muldoon's neck, as Owen, Claire and Diego ran through diagonally down the long dark corridor. They could hear it breathing loudly, with giant claws scraping across the outside yet saw nothing.))

*Suddenly, Diego begins moving at breakneck speed up the tunnel and runs to west side of the darkened chamber. He hears the claws and sees the silhouette following closely behind, as it teleports to the other side directly in front. Muldoon yells something and shoots off fifteen Iron alloy piercing darts, finally taking the beast by surprise. The Konis Tarbosaurus hadn't expected the ambush, and thus while he is teleporting up the tunnel the Dinosaur runs head-long into the corridor's locked observatory door. It shoots open, as Claire and Owen fire off four rockets into the Dinosaur's head just as they barely fit through the entrance. They emerge on the other side of the chilly corridor, with nothing but black darkness in their wake. The Hybrid Tarbosaurus opens its jaws like a praying mantis, in disgusting fashion it teleports into a large cylindrical glass test tube inside the main foyer. The structure shatters everywhere upon impact, as Diego lobs 4 heat sensitive incendiary grenades into the grating around the outside. It instantly blows apart, destroying 8 monitors nearby as Owen gets an idea and runs for it.*

Owen: "O.k. guys, hold on, I have a great idea here… (He runs to the huge containment unit, which is locked from both sides. The outside of the pressure lock says "Use of deadly force has been authorized…You may only use COMPOUND X in Emergencies, Rotate the Valve Clockwise to Begin De-Pressurization." He quickly starts turning the valve to the right as the door swings open, and the massive Konis Tarbosaurus teleports inside after taking a huge chunk out of his shoulder. It was outraged now, and deploying those praying mantis looking tendrils trying to feel over the ground….to loop its hideous looking arm appendage around Muldoon or Owen and bring them indoors. Unfortunately for the Dinosaur, it was now caught in-between a Zero Pressure chamber lock…..and like something out of that horror film Resident Evil, it suddenly had no way to teleport outside of a De-pressure room. Diego was caught inside, realizing the room was beginning to drop to below freezing he made a beeline for the vents ten feet up. The Hybrid Dinosaur flipped around, attempting to cut his body in half but Diego dropped forty C4 explosives from the main shaft and lit the fuse….just then, the Door sealed shut and the Dinosaur started to lose its mind as the explosions went off like an earthquake. Right then finally, some ancient writing appeared above the door which said "Look to the Eastern star to know your escape" and the team realized it meant to look outside the ventilation shaft. They helped Diego to stumble and hobble out of the massive Ice-cube like prison, as Owen turned the knobs to set the pressure to maximum. Right then, one of its tendrils broke through a small vent on the East wall, and Muldoon stuffed an entire cache full of grenades into the hole as it tried pulling Claire inside.*

*Just then, the ground inside the De-pressure room got super freezing, to nearly eclipse below 100 degrees Celsius. And as they were all outside the chamber, aside from the Dinosaur…they felt safer at last. As the temperature dropped below freezing, the giant Tarbosaurus hybrid blew open to reveal at least nine tentacles which started to freeze one after the other. The ceiling collapsed, and then a massive explosion went off destroying all the machines in the room along with the Dinosaur. They had finally killed it, and Diego wrapped the rest of his bandages around his weakened partial hand in relief.*

Muldoon: "Remind me again why they say this is the most exciting place on Earth…..Sure beats Seaworld, right Diego? Are you still in one piece?"

Diego: "I'm alive aren't I, hombre….Roberto, this is the last time I visit these places I swear it…..This is what they call Site C though right, so we should expect it? Look at that….the whole tunnel's destroyed."

Owen: "But you're alive at least!"

Muldoon: "Yes, mate he is and for that…we're more than forever grateful. After all, this is no picnic…."

Claire: "Wow…..Guys, that at the top of the stairs…What is….that?"

Diego: "Holy mother of God and Mary, what in the hell is that amigos….That window…..when you stare out it looks like hundreds of them…"

Muldoon: "Hundreds of what, though….is the key thing to ask…"

Owen: "Hundreds of test tubes, Robert. They're all green…..All of them…The entire field and chamber is filled with those things. Wow, I see 2 aquatic tanks near the stairs that lead up to the window…"

Owen: "And whatever this place is…..I mean, it's got to be a major underground lab of some kind. Hey what's this…"

Muldoon: "Owen, what are you doing….Don't touch that!"

*A.I. AUDIO RECORDING PLAYBACK: "Today's passcode to enter the Underground Complex is 0536…..I thought I left it for Jacob out back….Soyona won't mind if I borrow this since they got plenty of Troodons…Well now they are all dead, so this is my lab now!" Owen stares at it with curiosity and begins to enter a code into the large sealed door. He realizes for the first time how dangerous this is./

Diego: "What are you doing, that could trip the alarms essee!"

Muldoon: "Bloody….What are you talking about now, Diego? It's better than freezing to death."

Diego: "No, Muldoon you don't understand Amigo….This is the main transitions lab…This is Biosyn's Garden Side Laboratory….That's why it is more than 8000 square feet across, has a huge green room and some kind of Zombie Tarbosaurus guarding the place to top it off…."

Diego: "This is it, folks…This is where the real terrible tapes get made. It's the reason we didn't see anything on the map when climbing the stairs. "

Owen: "This place…..is Biosyn's Garden Side Laboratory!? Holy shiiiiiiiiiiiiiitz…..This place is enormous!"

Muldoon: "Of course it's huge, but I thought such things would have existed on Site B, Isla Sorna…."

Diego: "No, no compadre...Such things don't exist anywhere, but they do on Site C….Welcome to Site C.."

Claire: "That's their medical science center?! Boy do I hate being right all the time…."

*Fade out to other side of Isla Muerta, exactly 90 kilometers away from this location. Ian Malcolm is slowly making his way into a fading radio transmission tower, that's inside Biosyn's Cliffside Lab. He comes up to a chilling door which says "FREEZE ALL SPECIMENS BEYOND THIS POINT….CAPTAIN TARGUS ORDERS." And knowing how studious and punctual Malcolm is, he breaks the door open. Inside is a single terminal, discussing a cloned, Zombie like Pteranadon they were working on inside this lab. Also inside is the gears to release the Biosyn Jetski boat. He quietly motions to Kelly and Arby, that he's going to open the tunnels East of here and pilot the Jetski and needs the kids to hop on. They know things are about to get awfully dangerous, yet it's the only way to actually reach the Helipad…especially on this hellhole of an Island known as Isla Muerta….the Island you don't return from.*

Malcolm: "Kids, get on the Jetski with me now! Do you want to rescue Sara, and get Grant and the others out of here? Well, this is our only way according to this map…"

Kelly: "Ok, I'm getting on. But…what are you going to do? What are we supposed to do, we're 10 miles still from the Helipad to be able to figure out how to escape and destroy the DX variant?"

Arby: "Kelly is scared, Ian….We went through a lot earlier with the Ruins….but this is way more dangerous…don't you see the water…I just…I think there's something in the water…"

Malcolm: "Kids, there's nothing in the Deep Blue Sea here except the fishes and our extra scuba gear….Now you'll have to trust me on this. There is no other way up the turnpike to the helipad, except through this water channel….And the only way to get there is by Jetski, so hop aboard…we can do it.."

Kelly: "Sure dad, of course…Just give me a minute… (Kelly suddenly starts pacing back and forth near the Jetski with a worried look. She sees ripples in the water…something is moving.) Alright let's go. (she hops aboard the Jetski). I hope there's only one route.."

Arby: "Uhh…so Kelly….you don't think anything can follow us…"

Malcolm: "Kids, hurry! (He fires off a flare into the air.) I promise nothing follows us…just make a move and lets get going."

*As the three passengers hop aboard and start running down the tunnel on the Jetski, all of a sudden a loud crash is heard. Something massive made its way inside from the reservoir….something horrifying. And as if on cue, the Megalodon slowly raises its head…launching the Jetski clear into the air around 35 feet, as Malcolm begins to speed as fast as he's ever gone down the water corridor./

Megalodon: "RAAAAAAAAAAAAWERRR! GRAAAAAAAAAAWRR! ROOAR!" ((The giant shark gnaws off part of Malcolm's left leg, nearly amputating him in the process. It truly is a more horrifying ordeal to experience, after all the shark stories he's heard. The Jetski begins to zoom down the channel, this time for the sake of survival….as the massive Shark's head lobs the thing 20 feet in the air. Each time it comes crashing down, Malcolm and Kelly both scream…but then suddenly they reach the first intersection.))

Malcolm: "Hang on Kelly, we can make this jump! We have to…"

Kelly: "No dad, wait….no we can't!"

Arby: "…Just…do something! Or we'll be eaten alive!"

Malcolm: "Ah, I'm moving as fast as this contraption can move…No big deal, promise!"

Megalodon: "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWRR! ROAAARR!" ((The Megalodon twists and nearly snaps the second half of the Jetski in two. It thunders from nowhere, smashing through the large underpass of the tunnel and sinking the whole thing as the trio screams. The Jetski fights its way to travel back up the East passage to the main tunnel, as the giant Shark's head is nearly eating the engine along the turbine.))
