AUTHOR'S NOTE:

This idea has been stuck in my head for a while so here we are

Some key things going in:
- I'm using the movies timelines, meaning when Bella comes to Forks it will be 2008. However, I might also pull from the books for certain things later on.
- This story starts in 2007, so before Bella's arrival BUT after the Cullens.
- This is being written for fun
- I changed the wolf ages, everyone is AGED UP!
- This is a Paul/OC story but slow burn (like SUPER slow, especially on the OC's end) as the first few chapters are building up to everything.
- Finally, I hope you all enjoy!

**I do not own the Twilight series or anything affiliated with the franchise. I only own my OC, Isolde, and any other characters* created by me.**

~Isolde, at the time going by Inez, was just going wherever her feet could take her~

POLYONYMOUS

ISOLDE WENT BY MANY NAMES that were discarded in the wind after each use. Never leaving behind tracks that could allow her to be followed.

Her parents taught her that from an early age and she always took the teaching to heart.

There were very few she ever trusted, but Maia Littlesea was one of them. The gentle woman had wiggled her way into her heart before she knew it.

The pair met while in St. Louis, Missouri, both looking for a change.

Maia was adventurous and free spirited, having left the only home she's ever known to work as a travel nurse, saying it was a chance to explore all that life had to offer.

Isolde, at the time going by Inez, was just going wherever her feet could take her. She was adapting to life as a nurse, coincidentally at the same hospital Maia was placed in.

The two became quick friends after bonding over their shared love of travel and horror movies. Soon the duo were unable to be separated after. It was rare for Isolde to get close to anyone for a long period of time and it was even rarer that she stuck around for more than a few years.

But Maia pulled her in. She was warm and kind, accepting of everyone for who they were.

So, for the first time in a long time, Isolde trusted some of her secrets to the woman whose life she saved from a fatal car accident. Revealing her supernatural disposition in order to keep her best friend alive.

Maia took the news extremely well—surprising Isolde with the legends of her tribe from back home. Isolde explained that she could eat human food, but it wasn't the most nourishing so she often swiped a few blood bags from the hospital. At the time, she wasn't going out of her way to hunt down mortals to take directly from the source, so she chose to omit any more details.

Maia told her that she didn't care what she was, she saved her life and she was forever grateful.

The two were as close as sisters after that and for a little over the next two decades, continued to travel together. Isolde's name changed with every city they embarked upon and they fell into a nice routine. Sometimes Isolde would pretend to be a nurse fresh out of school and other times she would be Maia's adopted daughter.

Eventually, Maia knew it was time to return home. After being gone for over twenty years the dreaded call came—her mother had passed away. Maia needed to return for the funeral and decided she would finally settle down there.

She begged Isolde to come with her, but the redhead was skeptical. Maia's home had legends that did hold some truth, so what if Isolde was jumping headfirst into danger? Maia reassured her that she would be safe and worse case they could leave.

Isolde agreed to go, knowing she'd have to start as a high school student if she planned to stick around for at least the next ten years—which she most likely would, seeing as Maia was planning on finally putting down roots.

That was how the two women found themselves in front of a rather rundown home in La Push.
