Hiccup's day started like usual. Wake up, go to work in the forge. Try his best to avoid Snotlout and the gang. Get yelled at by his father and his favorite part; spend the night with Toothless.
It's not like his father ever even noticed him anymore. He was basically the village screw up, a dunce if you will. His status as the heir of Berk meant nothing to his people. Nobody cared and he would be better off in the woods with his Dragon. So that's exactly where he was headed. The day had been long, hard and tiring. He couldn't wait to see Toothless. His one and only sanctuary in this crappy world. He was tired, so tired of all the horrible treatment he had been receiving. The insults, the pushing, the punching, the screaming. It was too much and had begun to take a toll on him. When he reached the cove, Toothless greeted him with a warble, lick and a warm smile.
"Hey, bud. Another long day." He sighed. "I wish I could just get out of here you know?"
Toothless only warbled in response.
"You know, they treat me like trash, like I shouldn't even exist."
Standing up, Hiccup began pacing.
"I can't take this anymore!"
Gripping his hair he sighed in frustration.
"I just want a place to belong."
Toothless sensing his distress, wrapped his wings around him, crooning in distress.
Hiccup placed his hands on Toothless face touching foreheads.
"I know bud, just you and me. Forever."
