Ruffnut and Tuffnut hit the back of their cell with a thud.
Their gags were removed from their mouths and hands unbound.
Ruffnut shouted at the guard as he locked the cell door.
"I said it wasn't us!"
Tuffnut chimed in.
"You have to let us go! Please!"
The guard only glared and turned on his heels, walking away.
Ruffnut stared at her brother with teary eyes.
Luckily they were put together.
"I guess the guards thought we weren't worth the trouble to separate. I'm glad though…that I'm here with you."
Tuffnut sighed.
"Me too sis, me too."
They both shuddered from the cold wind that was blowing through a hole in the ceiling.
Sniffling, they stared at the stars.
After some time had passed Tuffnut turned to face his sister.
"Y'know…I don't want to die…"
Ruffnut remained silent, turning away from her brother's gaze.
"Let's escape…okay?"
The statement hung in the air more as a question.
The uncertainty in his voice was evident.
"Sis?"
Quiet sniffling was heard as Ruffnut curled into herself, pressing her knees against her chest.
Tuffnut only scooted closer to her, placing his hand on her shoulder.
"Look at me Ruff. Please."
Ruffnut looked at Tuffnut, eyes widening with surprise.
Instead of sorrow and anguish, there was a look of fierce determination.
"We're going to escape and when we do, we'll find whoever did this to us and kill them. Thorston style."
A small smile formed on his face as he pulled his sister into a warm embrace.
Pulling away, Ruffnut began to wipe away her tears, her lips forming a smirk.
"Thorston way."
Clasping hands, they began to form a plan on their escape.
