If she slowed down she would be caught
She didn't want that, she never wanted that, She wanted to be free.
(Chisaki would surely tear her apart again even more than he would when she'd normally escape because he didn't even have the chance to do it since the last time she escaped)
She could hear the guards running behind her yelling at her
She couldn't let them catch her. She couldn't. SHE COULDN'T-
She kept running, RUNNING, RUNNING-
And then when Eri turned the next corner
She saw a gold ring and everything went white.
When Shadow woke up after stopping the eclipse cannon he expected 3 things
1. To not wake up
2. To wake up in a fire pit
3. To wake up and see Maria (that was the one he was hoping for the most)
But instead, he woke up in an unknown place unsure of how long it had been
"It seems I'm still alive." Shadow said looking up at the shattered moon "I better get out of here before G.U.N shows up."
he looked around and saw one of his inhibitor rings
he quickly put it on
"I better find the other one." Shadow said
He continued to walk around before eventually finding the second inhibitor buried in the ground
But there was something else
A white-quilled hedgehog wearing a raggy dress
He put on the other inhibitor ring before inspecting the body
She was thin, sleep-deprived, unconscious, covered in bandages, and had a horn on her head
She had no gloves and no shoes
He quickly checked for a heartbeat
There was one
"Good, she's still alive." Shadow said as he threw her over his shoulder "I can't Let G.U.N get to her. Who knows what they might do."
He continued on his trek through the area
After a few hours, the hedgehog girl began to stir
Shadow set her down
"Good, you're awake." Shadow said
The hedgehog girl backed up in fear
"P-Please don't hurt me!" The hedgehog girl st
"I'm not going to hurt you." Shadow said, "We're the same species or at least similar."
"Huh?" The hedgehog girl said before noticing her body "W-What happened to me?!"
"you probably fell through something that teleported you to this planet. As for your injuries, I don't know " Shadow asked
"N-No." the hedgehog girl said not believing it
(She knew how she got her injuries)
"What's your name?" Shadow asked deciding to not press her further about it
"E-Eri." Eri said
"Hello Eri. I'm Shadow the hedgehog." Shadow said, "Follow me before G.U.N shows up."
"W-Who's G.U.N?" Eri asked
"A government organization who wants to capture me." Shadow said, "We must steer clear of them."
"O-okay." Eri said
They continued to walk for a while but soon it was starting to get dark
"Let's camp here for the night." Shadow said as he gathered sticks
Remembering an old fire safety video he watched with Maria he set up the campfire properly before lighting it ablaze with his shoes
"There." Shadow said, "Now we won't freeze to death."
Eri curled in on herself before falling asleep
now that Eri was asleep shadow decided to better gauge his surroundings
he walked around the area looking for bears, wolves, humans...
But he found nothing except an old campsite with a guitar in good condition
He took the guitar in case he needed more firewood
When get back Eri was trembling like she was having a nightmare
So he decided to play the song that Maria had played to him many times
It took a few minutes but after a bit, he remembered the melody and began to play
its effects were almost instantaneous
Eri stopped trembling and started to cuddle up to shadow
Shadow sighed
Maybe things would be good while he was still alive
"Commander Rockwell." A G.U.N agent said
"What is it?" Commander Rockwell asked
"Project Shadow is still alive and it's not alone." The agent said before handing her a screen of where Shadow crashed alongside Eri's footprints from when Shadow picked her up
"Capture them both." Commander Rockwell said, "Is Project Metal ready?"
"Not yet. with project Mecha going rogue and escaping it set us back a good chunk of time." The agent said
"Fine. save Project Metal for the other aliens." Commander Rockwell said, "We'll deal with project shadow before he can meet up with them."
"Yes ma'am." The agent said "And the new one?"
"We can use them as leverage against project shadow assuming they have a connection." Commander Rockwell said
When Eri woke up she thought it was a bad dream
But then she saw shadow and realized it wasn't a dream
She...Wasn't human anymore
(Granted she never felt like she was human if she was human He would stop hurting her. STOP STOP STOP-)
"Are you okay?" Shadow asked
Eri didn't respond
"Come on Eri we need to keep moving." Shadow said
Eri nodded and followed shadow
They continued to walk until reaching a small town
Eri's stomach growled
"Let's get you something to eat." Shadow said
They passed by a sign saying "Now entering green hills"
they continued to walk before noticing a coffee shop labelled "The Mean Bean" with a sign under it that said "grand reopening"
they entered
Aban Stone was doing alright...
No that was a lie
He missed the doctor so much. And while he was glad the doctor cared it didn't matter because he was dead
It wasn't like the last time where he could save him or the time before that he was off-planet
He was truly gone this time.
He didn't blame any of the fluffy aliens this time he mostly hated the doctor's grandfather who had manipulated him
(He hoped the old man was burning in hell)
suddenly he heard the entrance bell ring
"Uh sorry we're not-" Stone began before seeing who was at the door
Shadow the mother fucking hedgehog
And an unknown hedgehog girl
"Stone was it? You wouldn't happen to have any more revenge guac, would you? Or normal guac?" Shadow asked
If it wasn't shadow stone would fucking laugh his ass off
"Y-You're alive?!" Stone asked
"Yes." Shadow said "And you didn't answer my question."
"Well, I have depressed guac." Stone said
"That will do." Shadow said, "Because she's hungry."
Stone decided to get a better look at the second hedgehog
White quills
(Seriously what's with all the different colour hedgehogs what's next pink?!) stone thought to himself
red irises
Ragged dress
And A horn?
"Uh yeah sure she can have some. I also have some pastries too." Stone said, "Do you want anything?"
"Coffee beans." Shadow said
"Do you mean coffee?" Stone asked
"No." Shadow said
