Just like in other chapters I try to follow the canon as much as possible but I did a few different things. I hope you all like it.

Chapter 14

Evan Hudson's house was a modest rambler with a front porch light and a well manicured lawn. Dean, as usual, took the lead while Christina and Sam followed. They were all in a quiet determination to make a difference for one of the four people who would sell their soul.

"Evan Hudson," Dean called pounding on the door when they all arrived. "Open up. We need to talk."

For the first few seconds there wasn't any noise making Christina fear that Evan had up and rabbited just like Sarah but soon the door opened up to reveal a tall balding man wearing a tan sweater and looking rather pale from fear.

"Who...Who are you three?" Evan asked his voice quivering from fear.

"Look we can discuss who we are once we get answers." Dean said trying to get inside the front door but Evan refused to move. "Evan we don't have time for this."

"Leave me alone!" Evan screamed managing to slam the door and lock it leaving the Winchesters to panic over what they just witnessed.

Dean tried the door handle only to find it locked and the door barely moved. The three all looked at each other before Dean and Sam without much thinking lifted their foot and sent it flying into the front door breaking the lock and making it swing open.

Dean and Sam rushed in first while Christina took up the rear and closed the door back, just so the neighbors wouldn't call the police when they notice the broken door.

"Evan we are not Demons. We just want to help." Dean said finding a lone door in the hallway. He and Sam stood, ready to kick it down when Sam reached over and gently pushed open the door. Dean took a step inside and quickly jumped back as Evan swung a fire poker at his head. Dean quickly managed to remove the poker from his hands and tossed it to the side.

When Christina walked in seconds after her brothers she saw Evan cowering on the floor. She looked at both of her brothers, glaring softly at them before kneeling down in front of Evan who began to whimper softly. "Mr. Hudson," she said in a soothing tone that both of her brothers have heard in the past. "We just want to help. Two of the people who made deals at Lloyd's are dead while the third one is ready to give up. My brothers and I just want to help. So first and foremost, what did you trade for your soul? Money? Career? Fame?"

"My wife." Evan said his voice cracking slightly as he almost seemed to burst into tears.

"You traded your soul to make someone fall in love with you?" Dean asked almost disgusted with what he just found out.

"I was already married to her. She was dying from breast cancer and was moving to hospice to die. I couldn't let that happen. I wanted to have kids, stay with her until we were old and it was our time." Evan had tears falling at that point as he stared at the three siblings. "When I made that deal, that demon said I'd have ten years to be with my wife. They said her cancer will be gone and she wouldn't get struck down with anything. So we kissed and the next thing was they were gone. The next morning we went to the doctors for an appointment and they said her cancer was gone. They ran the test four times and they called my wife a miracle."

"So you're going to make your wife mourn your death now?" Sam asked trying to keep his anger from boiling. "Leave her to be alone?"

"She has our daughter to take care of." Evan said his quivering voice barely heard. "Our daughter is turning six next week. I told them to go visit my wife's sister and celebrate there. That I had work I needed to do and would fly out to be there. They left earlier this evening. I think they'll just assume I had a massive break in. It may hurt but I don't know what else to do."

"We will try and make it so you can be with your family." Christina said not wanting to loose yet another victim.

"What do you think we could do?" Sam asked logically.

"I might have an idea." Dean said rushing to the door. "Sam, Christy, use that Gopher dust and see if you can keep those demonic Pitbulls at bay, until I come back."

"What are you going to do?" Sam asked right before Dean had rushed out of the door. Sam looked at Christina who shrugged before he grabbed the leather pouch Dean had placed on the counter as he had placed in his jacket earlier. "If this works we might need to get more of this stuff." Sam said carefully lining the doors before lining the windows and large French doors that lead out to the backyard.

"If?" Evan said panicking. "You're saying that this won't work?"

"Mr. Hudson I believe it will work." Christina said giving the back of Sam's head a glare as she couldn't believe Sam could be so pessimistic. "My brother is just being an idiot."

"How would we know if it will work?" Evan asked after Sam placed the leather pouch back on the desk.

"We won't until midnight." Christina said looking at the back window, and back at Evan who did the same. "That's when you made that deal, right?"

"Well, yeah." Evan admitted.

"Which means we should try and make this house as safe as possible." Sam said catching onto what his sister was suggesting and thought it be good to place something to allow them to know where an attack may happen.

"This is going to be the longest five hours ever." Christina said helping Sam go through out the house setting up any kind of distractions they had at the house.

Evan had made himself something to drink around eleven that night while Christina and Sam, after asking permission, made themselves some coffee to keep themselves more alert. At around ten to midnight, Evan dropped his cup and quickly began to panic alerting Sam and Christina that something was going on. "I'm hearing them!" Evan cried out backing away from the back door as fast as possible. "Oh god is this it?"

"Okay get on the desk, both of you." Sam said grabbing the leather pouch and began to circle the desk with the gopher dust as soon as Christina and Evan both had climbed up. Before Sam had finished with the circle he carefully climbed in and finished the circle before climbing onto the desk.

"How much of that stuff do you have left?" Evan asked seeing as Sam was carefully folding it and putting it into his jacket pocket.

"Enough." Sam answered which Christina knew by experience that they didn't have anymore left. "Okay neither me or my sister can hear anything, so Evan you're going to have to let us know when they get closer."

"Yeah...alright." Evan trembled as the three struggled to stay on the desk before he grabbed hold of Sam's shoulder. "They're here."

It was tense for the few minutes that the three stood extremely close together when all three heard a loud crash coming from the kitchen. Sam remembered putting up an elaborate makeshift trap of thin twine and pots and pans.

"Evan is there any dogs in front of that door?" Sam asked making Christina understand what he was already planning.

As if on cue, loud desperate bangs seemed to splinter the door causing Evan to let out little nervous whimpers which he was happy neither Sam or Christina were going to make fun of. They knew they would be in the same situation if they had something after them.

A loud crash behind them made them all turn as they saw the window from the glass doors were shattered and Evan nearly was in tears as he gripped Sam's shoulder afraid to put his back towards his office door or to the French doors behind them.

Deep snarls and barks echoed in the room making all three shake and tremble. Sam was surprised that he could hear the snarls and growls but still could not see anything.

"How many dogs are there?" Sam asked hearing several sets of growls.

"Three." Evan said his voice getting softer. He was going to say something else when he jumped back knocking Christina off the desk, who landed hard on the floor just a few feet away from the desk.

"Christy!" Sam yelled suddenly looking frantic at their invisible enemy. "Evan where are they? Are they after her?"

"They're slowly approaching her." Evan said his voice mixed with worry and fear. "I'm sorry." He said knowing it would be his fault if something were to happen to her.

"It was an accident." Sam said seeing his sister slowly into a sitting position but staring blankly at the wall of the office. Her face pale but wet from sweat as she tried to keep herself from panicking. He could hear her breathing was shaky as she slowly curled into a smaller ball hoping that would keep her from getting pulled apart from an invisible attacker. But Sam knew his sister's life was now in his hands and he looked around the desk to find a large metal orb, as his hands gripped the object he turned to look at Evan. "Where are they?" He asked ready to throw hoping he wouldn't hit his sister by accident.

"One's just to the left of her." Evan said understanding the situation.

Sam raised his hand to toss the orb when Evan gasped. "What?" Sam asked afraid that the creatures where about to attack his sister.

"They're leaving." Evan said his breathing was slowing down he moved to leave the desk when Sam grabbed hold of Evan just a few minutes until Evan confirmed that they were completely gone, did Sam jump off the desk and rushed to his sister's side who was still remaining still and staring at the wall just in front of her.

"Christy?" Sam called gently touching her shoulder making her jump but as soon as she saw it was her brother in front of her, she threw her arms around his neck and started to shake. "It's okay, they're gone. We're safe."

"So am I going to be safe?" Evan asked looking scared and looking over his shoulder and looking paranoid.

"I'm not sure just yet. We'll just have to wait until our brother comes back. While we do that, just let us know if you hear them."

"Y-Yeah I can do that." Evan said sighing and then collapsing into his desk chair with a deep sigh.

Dean came back to the house just a little after twelve thirty and told Evan he was good to spend the rest of his life with his wife and daughter. Evan almost begged to pay them for what they had done but all three rejected the money and drove off shortly after. Dean did start to notice that his sister was quiet as she was usually one to say how happy she was that a case was now done but instead she instantly curled up on the back seat her back towards her brothers.

"How did you managed to get the demon to back off?" Sam asked softly not wanting to disturb their sister as he guessed she was coming off the shock and had fallen quickly to sleep.

"My charm." Dean said with a hint of a geeky smile in his voice.

"Come on, tell me the truth." Sam said clearly not falling for his brother's lie. "Please don't tell me that you sold your soul to save Evan." Dean remained quiet as they drove and Sam must have smacked the dashboard as there was a loud smack coming from up front. "Dean what were you thinking? You know you're going to end up just like Sean, Sarah and George."

"I didn't sell my soul Sam." Dean snapped back his voice loud enough he was scared that he may have woken up his sister but she hadn't even jumped when Sam hit the dashboard. "Like I said I did make a deal but it wasn't to sell my soul."

"Then what did you bargained with?" Sam asked his voice worried about something.

"I had to accept what the Demon told me. I'll tell you when I can wrap my head around it." Dean said but before Sam could ask him to clarify what he meant, Dean leaned over and turned up the radio where Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer soothing outro filled the cab.

Christina lay awake listening to what her brothers had been talking about just a few minutes before. But she wasn't awake due to what they were talking about, it was because of what she witnessed throughout this entire case. But she was still trying to come to terms to this and hearing that both of her brothers were stressed over something else, she figured what she going through wasn't all that important and decided to close her eyes. But as the beginning of the pounding of Enter Sandman's intro came on the radio all she could see was the ghostly figures of the Hellhounds surrounding her, teeth barred, drool dripping on her feet as they stared at her. She tried to fall asleep despite what was now playing on the radio.
