Irene was sitting at the kitchen table drinking her cup of coffee when her young son, Natsu, walked in.
"Mom? Can you teach me your giant space rock magic move ?" asked Natsu as he stared at Irene.
Irene couldn't help but choke on her coffee from such an intense and sudden request.
She cleared her throat.
"Erm. Can I ask why?"
"Because Erza won't let me play with Happy until I do my dumb homework!"
So you want to crush your sister?!
"But homework is fun," said Irene with a smile, choosing not to speak her mind. "Don't you want to grow up to be a smart young man?"
Natsu shook his head and stuck his tongue in defiance.
"No! Homework is boring!"
The young boy raised his right fist and confidently smiled.
"I want to be the strongest fighter when I grow up!"
Irene smirked and rested her cheek on her hand.
"Really?"
"Yep!"
"Or do you want to become strong so you can protect that cute blonde girl you became friends with?"
"Wha!?" sputtered Natsu as his face turned red with embarrassment.
"Lucy is her name right? She's such a well behaved kid. Cute, intelligent, and keen to learn. No wonder you like her." teased Irene as she finished sipping the last of the coffee.
"N-no! I want to be strong so I can protect my family!"
Irene feigned a gasp.
"Goodness! You plan to marry her?Oh my little boy is growing up!"
"Wah! No! I-! I'm gonna go do my homework!"
The young boy bolted from the kitchen as Irene giggled.
Ah it was good to laugh.
