Chapter 18:
Battling The Captain - Round Two
Meanwhile, Twilight and her friends continued their chase after the Captain and his two troublesome parrots. They found him flying between two ships of the pirate fleet, but just when they were about to go after him, The Mane 7 find themselves in the way of blasting cannonballs, firing and blocking their path.
They were barely able to dodge a few cannonballs before stopping, seeing there is no way for them to get to the Captain now.
"How are we going to get to the Captain with all these cannonballs firing at us?" Rainbow Dash asked, seeing they aren't going anywhere with these things blasting at them within range.
Suddenly, they hear a familiar whistle and turned around to see Pinkie Pie approaching them, riding in one of the rowboats which surprised her friends.
"Ahoy there, matey. Need a lift?" Pinkie asked in her pirate accent, arriving in time with the rowboat.
"Pinkie, how did you…," Twilight asked, being surprised that her friend was able to get ahold of the rowboat.
"Get this rowboat? Oh, let's just say I managed to get it by battling a few Skavengers of the fleet," Pinkie Pie explained, remembering back a few minutes ago…
A few minutes earlier…
Seeing that her friends will need something to get past the cannons, Pinkie flew towards one of the ship and handled a few Skavengers with her Electricity Magic and her aerial combat skills too.
She also managed to dodge a few bombs that were dropped by the Dreadwings and the Dark Armies while flying from one ship to another.
Pinkie rode a few rowboats from one ship to the next, where she encountered more Skavengers but managed to defeat them with ease and didn't even break a sweat. Even though Pinkie doesn't have Alicorn Time Magic like Twilight does, she was however quick enough to be able to dodge some Skavengers who tried to jump her, but ended up falling to their demise.
After flying from ship to ship, dealing with the Skavengers, and riding a few rowboats, Pinkie was able to hijack one rowboat and rows it to where her friends are…
After Pinkie has explained what happened, Twilight and the others were quite shocked and surprised that Pinkie managed to get a rowboat for them and managed to defeat a few Skavengers too. But, apart from that, they know there's no time for them to lose and must get back to the matter in hand.
"Alright, now come on, girls. We've got a Captain and some Birds to stop," Twilight said, getting on the rowboat and ready to finish what they started with the Captain and Parrots.
"Pinkie, set sail to where that nitwit Captain and his troublesome parrots are," Rainbow Dash ordered as she and the others followed Twilight's example and got on the rowboat themselves.
"Aye-Aye, Captain!" Pinkie replied, saluting and stirring the rowboat as they float across the pirate fleet.
It didn't take long until the Mane 7 and Spike rode their rowboat to a floating platform that looks like a small version of the Arena. Once they arrived, Twilight and her friends flew down and saw the Captain was there, shooting cannonballs at them. But the Mane 7 and Spike dodged them and kept flying down before landing.
Once they landed, the Captain turned to them.
"Suckers! You ponies just don't know when to quit," The Purple Parrot said, getting annoyed from the determination of the Mane 7.
"You just don't know us very well. I quit all the time," Spike said, crossing his arms.
"Really, Spike?" Rarity asked, chiding the dragon as she and the others turned to him with raised brow from what he just said now.
"Sorry, I thought it was going to sound cooler," Spike apologized, causing the Mane 7 to facehoof themselves, especially Rarity.
Getting back to the matter in hoof, Twilight and her friends continued their battle with the Captain. The Captain struck first by shooting cannonballs at them, but the Mane 7 were able to dodge them. However, they have another problem, a few more Skavengers appeared to protect their captain.
"Go after the captain, Twilight! We'll handle the runts," Sunset said as she and the others charged and handled the Skavengers and Twilight goes after the Captain.
While her friends handled the Skavengers, Twilight run right up to the Captain to finish the fight. But the Captain raised up his sword, and it soon got caught on purple fire. Knowing she and her friends have to be careful, Twilight managed to dodge the flaming sword and when she saw the Captain to plunge his sword…
"Everypony Jump!" Twilight ordered in a shout, jumping up into the air as her friends followed suite, dodging a series of shockwaves that threw the Skavengers off.
Once that was done, The Mane 7 and Spike came back down and saw the Captain is struggling to get his sword out. Seeing this, Twilight saw her chance and used her Alicorn Time Magic to slow the Captain down. Working together quickly, The Mane 7 each used their elemental magic powers on the Captain before Twilight's Time Magic ran out and things went back to normal speed.
The Captain managed to get his sword unstuck and to make things harder for the Mane 7, bombs began to come down and exploded. Twilight and her friends were able to dodge them and the Captain's cannonballs as more Skavengers appeared to protect the Captain.
Sensing her Alicorn Time Magic is full, Twilight was able to use it again, making things slower for her and her friends. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Applejack, Sunset, Fluttershy, and Pinkie charged and fought the Skavengers with ease, using their elemental magic and aerial combat skills on them. However, when Twilight sensed her Time Magic is running low, she stopped to let it recharge and things went back to normal speed.
But that didn't stop her friends from fighting and defeating the Skavengers.
Rainbow Dash was able to do some aerial magic and combat on one Skavenger.
Applejack pounded her hooves hard on the floor, causing some spiked rocks to pop out of nowhere and blocking the Skavengers while Fluttershy tangled them up with some strong vines, using her Nature magic.
Pinkie and Rarity managed to do a combo Fury Attack of Electricity and Water, washing and shocking the Skavengers they were fighting.
And Sunset Shimmer was using her Fire Magic to keep the Skavengers at bay.
While her friends were handling the Skavengers, Twilight saw her chance and charged at the Captain, only to see him flaming up his sword again. But, Twilight and her friends were able to dodge the sword as the Captain thrust it into the floor, creating another series of shockwaves. When the shockwaves were done, the Mane 7 came down and saw the Captain struggling to get his sword unstuck again.
"We almost got him. We just need to hold him off a little longer," Twilight said, seeing they are almost done defeating the Captain.
Using her Time Magic, Twilight and her friends worked together and manged to make their final moves on the Captain. Knowing what she needs to do, Twilight rose up into the air, concentrated on her Earth Magic, as the platform began to shake and rocks began to appear as they started to spin around, and…
BOOM!
Twilight has unleashed her Earth Magic Fury Attack, and the Captain finds himself being blasted by a shockwave and bombarded into the air by falling rocks.
Unable to fight any longer, the Captain stumbled backwards onto a plank while Skabb and the other Parrot flew off. By the time he reaches the edge of the plank, the Captain let out a defeated grunt and fell down to the ocean below.
"And the Captain sinks with the ship," Rainbow Dash commented as they watched the Captain falling down to his demise.
Sitting down, the Mane 7 and Spike turned to see the two Parrots come down and landed on a wooden beam not too far from them.
"That ain't nothin'! We don't need him to take out these weaklings! I pity the fools who mess with us! Welcome to the World Of Hurt!" The Purple Parrot announced, ready to take on the Mane 7 and Spike by himself.
"THAT'S IT!" Spike shouted, having about enough of the Purple Parrot's insult and threats as he then punched the creature right in the face.
After a punch like that, the Purple Parrot ends up spinning around, completely dazed and stunned, before falling down and landed on the ground, defeated.
"Whoo-ha! That felt good," Spike said, feeling relief after giving the Purple Parrot the what for while doing some shadow-boxing.
"Thank you, Spike. That was very brave of you," Rarity thanked, feeling happy for Spike putting the Purple Parrot down.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of wings flapping and they turned to see Skabb taking to the air and flying off somewhere.
"So, what are we going to do with that there feller?" Applejack asked, watching Skabb flying away like the coward he is.
"Leave him. He's no longer our concern right now. Come on, let's get out of here and find the White Isles," Twilight said as she and her friends make their exit and took to the air, finally making their escape from the ship.
After making their escape from the Pirate Fleet, the Mane 7 and Spike flew as far away as they can from the place. While they were flying, Spike gave Twilight the map they took from the ship so she can read it to see if they're going in the right direction.
"Did you guys see back there? I was like 'BAM'! And he was like 'Oomph'!" Spike said, feeling excited and confident after he punched the Purple Parrot into defeat with just one strong dragon punch.
"That was one impressive thing you did back there, Spike. But that reminds me, where are we going now, Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked, facing Twilight as they flew beside each other.
"It's a little hard to read what this map says, but if we keep flying north, we should be able to reach the White Isles by the time we see the island or something," Twilight said, which was good news for them all.
"Then we best make sure to keep an eye out for the island in case if we pass it or something," Applejack said, keeping a careful eye out for the White Isle as they flew high above the ocean.
"Who knows, maybe we might find a sign that said 'Spooky Moon Temple' or something," Spike sarcastically added while Twilight keeps reading the map to make sure they're going in the right direction.
But as Twilight continued reading the map, she suddenly saw something that made her eyes widened with fear and shock. For on the map there was a familiar insignia that Twilight has seen before on the Unicorn Bounty Hunter back at the temple.
Before she knew it, the insignia triggered more of her flashback…
In her flashback, Twilight saw her mother again, piling something over her field of vision, and her eyes were still glistened with unshed tears and her ears were flat with fear. But this time, Twilight didn't just see her mother, she also saw a figure, a familiar figure, appearing from what appears to be a village going up in flames and raising up his staff. Twilight could easily tell he was pursuing her and her mother.
Returning to reality, Twilight had a look of shock and disbelief on her face after having regained that memory of that night. Her friends took notice of this and became concerned after seeing her reaction.
"Twilight, are you okay?" Sunset asked with concern in her voice.
"He…He was there," Twilight whispered in fear from seeing the familiar figure in her memory.
"Who? Who was there, Twilight?" Rarity asked, wanting to know who Twilight was referring to that was there in her mind.
"It was…It was…," Twilight tried to say, but suddenly she felt the wave of tiredness washing over her and became drowsy again, and she had an idea what that means.
Although she tried to fight it, Twilight just couldn't resist it. Eventually, the Alicorn Warrior gave and finally passed out. But, it also means her wings would stop flapping and before Twilight knew it, she began falling down to the ocean down below, dropping the map as Fluttershy caught it quickly.
"Are you kidding me? Now of all times for the Pillars to call her into another slumber?" Rainbow Dash asked in annoyance from seeing her friend passing out in the middle of the flight.
"Oh, please tell me she is just pulling over for a bathroom break," Spike begged, seeing his sister falling directly into the ocean down below them.
"Hang on, Twilight! We're coming!" Fluttershy called out as she and the others flew down after Twilight…
Twilight continued falling down towards the ocean with her friends flying down after her to keep her from falling into the ocean, or she might drown. Unfortunately, Twilight has already made into the ocean and fell in with a big splash while her friends stopped at the surface, becoming worried for their friend. But since she's passed out, Twilight couldn't feel herself hitting the water.
On the verge of sinking to the bottom of the ocean, Twilight was fortunate enough to land on what appear to be perhaps the bottom of the ocean. But not much later, Twilight appeared to have emerged out of the ocean all soaked and wet. Because what she landed wasn't the bottom of the ocean at all, but the back of a majestic and wonderful Blue Whale.
The Blue Whale emerged from the water and swam to what looked like some kind of mountain in the distance with the passed out Twilight in tow and her friends following the animal…
