At the Jade Chamber, a demon had entered Ninnguang office.
Her skin was a light violet, her hair was coloured in a light grey, her ears were large and pointy, her lips were black, and her eyes sported red sclera and slit yellow pupils. ù
She had a pointed tail, and had goat-like features such as horns and lavender-coloured hooves.
For clothing, she wore typical Liyuean secretary clothing.
« Miss Ningguang? You called? » the demon asked.
« Mrs. Mayberry, right? You must be one of the newest secretaries, if I'm not mistaken. » Ninnguang replied.
« Not much I could teach to Liyuean children…» Mayberry laughed nervously. « Anyway, what seems to be the problem? »
« To put it simply, we are just looking for the right person to help. We had a very long discussion about it, but to no avail. I have tasked my three most trusted secretaries with overseeing an important auction tomorrow. » Ninnguang replied. « This, however, leaves their regular duties unattended to, and the work cannot afford to go undone. The nature of their day-to-day work is highly sensitive and confidential, so whomever I ask to fill in needs to be someone I can trust, and who doesn't have a conflict of interest. »
« …And yet you're asking me. A total newbie…» Mayberry replied with a deadpan face.
« I know it may seem strange, but both Princess Charlie and Vaggie are busy with their work at the Hotel, Miss Carmilla and her daughters are busy with their weapon factory, and I'd rather become Alastor's new test subject than trusting either Angel Dust, Cherri, Nifty, Sir Pentious or Husk. As for Alastor himself…he's Alastor, enough said. To me, this work is highly sensitive and of utmost importance, though I'm sure you will find it to be mundane at best. It would not surprise me if it's perhaps too much for a newbie... » Ninnguang replied. « And yet, despite this, I thought it could do no harm to ask the question. As it happens, I was just having a discussion on backup plans with my secretaries before you arrived. »
« But... the outcome of that discussion was that we couldn't think of a suitable alternative... » Baixiao explained.
« This is a good reminder that we should always have a contingency plan for everything. » Baiwen commented.
« Now the question is, do you believe yourself up to the task? » Ninnguang asked.
« I mean, maybe I can handle it? What are we dealing with? » Mayberry asked.
« I wouldn't worry. It's all simple work— planning trips, gathering pertinent information, that sort of thing. » Ninnguang replied.
« All right, but please don't fire me if I can't handle it…» Mayberry requested.
« I was actually thinking of paying you for overtime. » Ninnguang replied.
« …But I'm not overtiming…» Mayberry replied.
« We'll….loosen up the definition for convenience…» Ninnguang shrugged.
« Deal. » Mayberry replied.
« If you have any questions about your work, I will answer them shortly. » Baishi explained. « The administrative work Lady Ningguang touched upon just now is only one aspect. You'll also be required to cater for Lady Ningguang's basic daily needs, such as clothing and meals, and be on call for any other requests she may have. »
« Isn't that basically babysitting? » Mayberry asked.
« Don't be mistaken, I won't put you in a difficult position. And I will fully respect your judgment. » Ninnguang replied. « Alright. Please proceed to the office. Baishi will go over the work with you in more detail. »
« Yes, Lady Ningguang. Okay, let's go. » Baishi showed Mayberry the way.
And so, Baishi begun to explain everything to Mayberry.
« Before I get into specifics, I want to start by giving you the big picture. As a member of the Liyue Qixing, Lady Ningguang's every move is in the spotlight. Maintaining her perfect image at all times is absolutely essential. » Baishi explained. « My usual job is to be her right hand, to maintain her image, and take care of all her worries. For example, arranging her daily schedule, picking out clothes for her... dressing her, applying her perfume... »
« Hello? Earth to Baishi? » Mayberry snapped her fingers in front of Baishi's face to get her back to reality.
« Ahem. You misunderstand me. I am simply trying to impress upon you the sheer importance of the work you will be undertaking! » Baishi exclaimed.
« Baishi has always been very passionate about her work. I can leave any task in her capable hands and rest assured that her performance will be nothing short of exemplary. » Ningguang explained. « I'm sure she was simply trying to share some of her enthusiasm, in the hopes that you may find it infectious. »
« Th—Thank you, Lady Ningguang! Back to the topic at hand. Let's get into the details. » Baishi explained. « Baixiao and Baiwen handle tasks that require enormous experience, while I'm mainly responsible for organizing her daily scheduled and making sure she is well-fed, dressed for any occasion, and that all her needs are met. I can go through the methods I use and give you some pointers based on my experience to ensure that you are fully equipped to perform your duties. »
« Sounds manageable, so far… » Mayberry noted.
« Great, then I'll skip that and just get to the handover of duties. » Baishi replied. « Currently, there are 133 items that have yet to be scheduled, 17 of which are high-importance and... »
« 133!? As in one followed by two fucking three!? » Mayberry exclaimed shocked.
« ….Yes. That's how numbers work. » Baishi commented with a deadpan expression.
« Oh, very fucking funny. I was a math teacher before that fucker cheated on me with that whore! » Mayberry shot back angrily.
« AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnyway, I'll go through the most important items with you in more detail. If there's anything you don't understand, feel free to stop me with questions at any point. First is the periodic meeting with the representatives of the Eight Trades, after that, fielding opinions on revisions to the current tax legislation. » Baishi explained. « Then, a discussion with Lady Keqing on issues relating to time restrictions on land conveyance deals. Following that, there's a Q session with all the major commerce guilds. Right after that, there's— »
« Hooooooooooold the fuck up! Do I REALLY need to know the boss's entire daily routine? » Mayberry asked.
« Yes, you do. To the uninitiated, scheduling may sound like a simple process of matching tasks to time slots, but there is actually far more to it than that. You need to take travel time into account, along with a whole spectrum of potential issues that can arise...» Baishi explained. « Ample knowledge of all outside factors that may weigh upon your plan A is essential to devise a workable contingency plan. I assume this is all making sense... unless you had any other questions at this point? »
« This is going to be a pain in the ass. But none the less, yes, continue…» Mayberry replied.
« Good, then let's press on — we're tight on time here, and there's a lot to get through. And we still need to leave enough time for you to prepare Lady Ningguang's schedule. » Baishi warned Mayberry.
« Actually, I do think I have a plan… » Mayberry noted.
« Already? Wow... you're a fast learner. Very good, this will be much more efficient. » Baishi complimented Mayberry.
« Wonderful. Then I'll be counting on you to provide my schedule for tomorrow. » Ninnguang replied.
« Here's hoping I won't fuck this up…» a nervous Mayberry replied.
« I'm grateful for your assistance. Now, I will leave you here in peace to proceed with your work. I still have a few items from today's schedule that need addressing. » Ninnguang then proceeded to leave the chamber. « If anything else is unclear, you can ask Baishi. »
« Take care, Lady Ningguang! » Baishi waved her boss.
« All right, may God have mercy on our souls… » Mayberry prayed.
Xxxxxxx
After a while, Mayberry seemed to have come up with a sufficiently good schedule.
1. Eat, wash up, change, get ready to go out.
2. Meet businesswoman Luo Qiao at Liuli Pavilion, eat lunch.
3. Meet three informants and exchange information.
4. Go to Yuehai Pavilion for a conference.
5. Light meal, negotiate any outstanding matters from the conference, return to Jade Chamber.
The specific times for the first three items are flexible and progress-dependent. The conference in Item 4 is scheduled for the evening. Arriving early is recommended.
« Here you go. Be merciful of my ass…» Mayberry pleaded.
« Good. You factored in both priority and efficiency, and produced a rigorous and well-structured schedule. You've clearly considered it from every angle. » Baishi replied. « Excellent work. You've got quite a knack for this. »
« Oh, thank god, I won't receive death by a thousand cuts… » Mayberry let out a sigh of relief.
« "Death by a thousand cuts"? What's that, some sort of torture device by Alastor? » Baishi asked.
« Forget I said anything…» the demon replied.
« ….Okayyyy… Please be here at the Jade Chamber tomorrow morning before Lady Ningguang wakes up, and start preparing based on the schedule. » Baishi replied. « With you helping out here, we will be able to focus fully on the auction — it will be quite a complicated affair. »
« Well as long as nothing demonic happens, everything SHOULD go according to plan…» Mayberry commented.
« I hope so, too. You must be exhausted. Make sure you get an early night tonight. » Baishi replied.
Xxxxxxx
The next day, Mayberry knocked at Ningguang's door.
« Yes, I'm already awake. » Ningguang replied. « I'll be out in a moment. I'm just changing. »
After a short while, she came out of her room. « Good morning. Did you sleep well? »
« Define…"sleep well"… » a nervous Mayberry asked.
« There's nothing to worry about. We just need to go through the schedule you made and tick the items off one by one. Now then. The schedule. Let's see what you have for me today. » Ningguang grabbed the schedule. « Item 1... Lunch at Liuli Pavilion with Ms. Luo Qiao. Ah yes, I remember the invitation. I need to make sure I'm well-prepared for this. »
« Friend of yours? » Mayberry asked.
« No. Someone I've never met before. Today's lunch will be our first time meeting each other. » Ningguang replied.
« As if you didn't have enough tits in your bed already… » Mayberry murmured.
« Hehe, she's paying a high price for my time, and I intend to make sure she gets her money's worth. » Ninnguang laughed. « Otherwise... tens of millions of Mora is rather a high price for lunch, even one at Liuli Pavilion — wouldn't you say? »
« ….Wot? » was all Mayberry could utter.
« That's right. Even at this price, there is no shortage of people willing to pay for a lunch opportunity with me. To be clear, I've never had any hand in setting the price. I, too, was rather surprised to see it become so expensive. » Ningguang explained. « Time is very valuable to me. So when I first came up with the idea, I made a rule that my time would go to the highest bidder. Gradually, it developed into a lucrative business. »
« Sounds like prostitution with extra steps…» Mayberry commented.
« Hey, mora is mora. » Ningguang smirked.
« ….What? » Mayberry asked shocked.
« I'm just joking. Most people looking to buy my time are businesspeople who believe that whatever they spend now, they will make back several times over in due course. Naturally, for anyone looking to make a profit in a complex market, the bottom line is having the requisite experience and expertise. » Ninnguang joked. « All I can do for them is share whatever insight I may have. As for how much my insight is worth in terms of Mora, everyone has their own idea. There is no standardized way to measure something like this. »
« You free this weekend? » Mayberry asked, clearly interested in a few ideas of her own.
« Not quite, but you get to sit in on this lunch for free. » Ningguang replied. « In the hands of a professional businessperson, the kind of information you will be exposed to would be worth... well, tens of millions of Mora. »
« Oh, you bet I will. » Mayberry smirked.
« Now, let's have some breakfast before we leave. » Ningguang replied, as they headed to the dining room, already prepared for breakfast. « Did you organize this entire breakfast? »
« I only wrote the schedule down. » Mayberry replied.
« Haha. I know what's going on, then. » Ningguang laughed. « Please, sit. Have a taste of the Jade Chamber chef's cooking. This kind of food tastes far less satisfying if left out for too long. »
« Huh. Perhaps I could get used to this…» Mayberry shrugged, as she and Ningguang enjoyed a fine breakfast.
« What do you think? Is the food to your liking? » Ningguang asked.
« Do you often eat breakfast with your secretaries? » Mayberry asked.
« On occasion. Usually, everyone is too busy for a leisurely sit-down meal. There is an awful lot to get done most of the time. » Ningguang replied. « Breakfast also isn't usually so lavish. Hence my surprise when we got here. »
« Honestly, I'm just as shocked as you are…» Mayberry shrugged.
« Baishi probably made arrangements yesterday to add a few extra dishes to the breakfast menu. » Ningguang replied. « You willingly took this work on, knowing that it would be tedious, especially for a newbie, and you have worked diligently. My secretaries and I are very grateful to you. »
« Well, hopefully this time I won't wind up in HELL if I die…» Mayberry grumbled.
« Breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day. You can't compromise on it. If you wake up to the same monotonous meal each day, you will start to feel fatigued even before you start working. » Ningguang explained. « Well, I'm done eating. We should get ready, then head off to Liuli Pavilion. I have some preparations to make first. Could you bring my clothes to my room, please? »
« Why? These look just fine…» Mayberry commented.
« I need a change of mood, and a change of clothes will facilitate that. » Ningguang explained.
« Oh, I guess that makes sense…» Mayberry noted.
« Who knows, perhaps you will have a completely different impression of me after I change outfits. » Ningguang shrugged. « I already instructed Lanyang to have my outfit ready. You can fetch it from her. »
« Got it boss! » Mayberry replied, as she headed off.
« Thank you. I'll be in my room. » Ningguang replied.
Xxxxxxx
After a while, Mayberry found Lanyang.
« Hello, how may I help? » Lanyang asked.
« Boss needs new clothes. » Mayberry replied.
« Why do you keep calling Lady Ningguang "boss"? » Lanyang asked confused.
« You stay for a while in Hell, you pick up a few habits… » Mayberry replied.
« I'm sorry for asking, ma'am. » Lanyang replied. « Anyway, please wait a moment, I'll go and get them. »
Xxxxxxx
After a long wait, Lanyang was back.
« Here you are. Please give this to Lady Ningguang. » Lanyang handed a box to Mayberry.
« Took you long enough…» Mayberry commented.
« This whole room is full of Lady Ningguang's personal items. Not just clothes, either — there are all kinds of jewelry and ornaments... » Lanyang explained. « Lady Ningguang asked us to rearrange this room recently. We're currently right in the middle of that, so everything's in a bit of a mess. That's why it took me a little time to find this for you. »
« She's a hoarder, isn't she? » Mayberry asked with a deadpan expression.
« You have no fucking clue. » Lanyang replied. « Anyway, you can take it now. Thanks for coming to pick it up. »
Xxxxxxx
And so, Mayberry returned to Ningguang room.
« Did you get it, Mayberry? » Ningguang asked.
« Here you go, boss. » Mayberry casually replied, as she handed her the box.
« Please wait a moment. » Ningguang replied.
Xxxxxxx
After a while, the door finally opened to reveal Ningguang in a different attire.
Half of her hair was tied up into a wide bun that resembled a fan. The rest fell into two divided parts. Her bun was accessorized with a dark blue hairpin, and she wore a dark blue tassel decoration atop her head which laid between her eyes.
She wore a gold-patterned dark blue dress one slit at the back and two slits at the front showed her legs and her white shorts. Her Vision rested at the top of the slit that showed her left leg. The dress was thigh-length at her sides and knee-length in the front and back. She had a narrow, dark blue fur ring on each of her upper arms, and her dress had multiple thin dark blue and pale blue straps at the top that connected to a dark blue collar with a golden gem in front. She additionally wore a pair of open-toe heels with butterflies pinned to the ankle straps.
« I had this specially tailored recently — and I must say, I am really rather fond of it. » Ningguang explained. « What do you think? Be honest. I just want to know your first impression. »
« …That's actually kinda hot…» Mayberry commented.
« Bitch, you know it. » Ningguang smirked. « All right. Let's head to Liuli Pavilion. »
Xxxxxxx
After a while, the duo reached Liuli Pavilion, and prepared for a banquet.
« Lady Ningguang! » Luo Qiao greeted the woman.
« Sorry to have kept you waiting. » Ningguang apologized.
« No, no, not at all! I know that you have a thousand different things to do each day. I'm very grateful for any amount of time you can spare for me. » Luo Qiao replied.
« Great. Well, let's leave the formalities aside from now on, and make this just a friendly chat. » Ningguang replied, before pointing at Mayberry. « This is Mayberry, a newbie demon secretary of mine. »
« A demon, huh? » Luo Qiao commented.
« You do everything right in life, play by all the rules and still get sent in Hell with all the Hitlers and Epsteins of the world. After one measly massacre propelled by blind rage. » Mayberry grumbled angrily.
« Well, would you like to join us? Perhaps it would improve your mood. » Luo Qiao proposed.
« Not gonna complain about that. » Mayberry shrugged.
« Oh, I'm sorry, where are my manners — I forgot to introduce myself. Look at me, getting all over-excited. I'm Luo Qiao, a businesswoman. I work mostly in the textile business, but recently I've been considering branching out into some other markets. » Luo Qiao excused herself. « That's what I wanted to ask Lady Ningguang for some advice about. Though I'm surprised that Lady Carmilla was not here to join us to confirm the rumours…»
« Rumours? About what, exactly? » Ningguang asked.
« You know, the rumors about the two of you, Lady Ningguang and Lady Carmilla, having a... closer-than-average relationship. » Luo Qiao explained. « ...You haven't heard? »
« I…don't pay too much attention to politics…» Mayberry laughed nervously.
« Come on... you must know that Lady Ningguang's every move is in the spotlight? That obviously includes her relationships. » Luo Qiao replied.
« Haha. Interesting. Yes, we have a special relationship, but I don't see anything unusual about it. » Ningguang shrugged. « Lady Carmilla is amongst the national heroes in Liyue whose actions have directly contributed toward the prosperity we enjoy today, and one of the few that is not draining our sanities... »
« I swear, if I ever see that Sir Pentious fuck, I'm going to S L A P him. » Luo Qiao hissed.
« Even putting aside my official status as one of the Liyue Qixing, I admire her on a personal level, too. » Ningguang replied.
« Oh, yes, there is nothing unusual about it at all. I was just observing that Lady Ningguang now seems to have a second interesting character in her innermost circle. The first one being the captain. » Luo Qiao commented.
« You're comparing Apples and Sunsettias there. Whenever Beidou returns to Liyue Harbor, all she brings me is a headache. » Ningguang replied. « I've missed out on a number of extremely promising investment opportunities thanks to her. In fact, the timing is always so suspiciously coincidental I can't help but wonder if she's doing it on purpose... »
« Investment opportunities... Oh, do you mean the Luminescent Spine business? I hear that's been all the rage recently. » Luo Qiao commented.
« No, something else. All the talk around Luminescent Spines is just empty hype. » Ningguang replied.
« Oh? But isn't there some new technology from Fontaine that needs lots of Luminescent Spines to make it work? » Luo Qiao asked.
« If it were really that profitable, those in the know would have kept it as quiet as possible. You have to wonder, if the news is spreading like wildfire, who's fanning the flames? » Ningguang asked rhetorically. « I had my secretary do some analysis. The current price of Luminescent Spines far exceeds the profits that could be made on the end product. »
« I see... Huh, I was planning to get your opinion on how to get started in that business. » Luo Qiao commented.
« In my opinion, there are many people around with ulterior motives, making this a very risky business to enter into in the short term. » Ningguang replied. « Long term, it's very difficult to say. But I believe there's too much uncertainty to make it worth your investment. You worked hard to earn every Mora you own, and you should be just as careful spending it as you were making it. »
« That, and when the Industrial Revolution will inevitably hit Liyue, coal will be more profitable. » Mayberry added.
« Okay, got it. If that's what both of you think, I'll take my time and not rush into anything. » Luo Qiao replied. « Maybe it'd be a better choice to invest this money into an industry that I'm genuinely interested in getting involved with. »
And so, this kind of discussion continued for the entirety of lunchtime.
« Lady Ningguang, thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me today. I didn't know how much we'd get through, but you've answered every question I wanted to ask. » Luo Qiao thanked Ningguang.
« Good, I'm glad I could be of some help. » Ningguang replied.
« Now I see why you were able to become the most successful businessperson in Liyue Harbor. » Luo Qiao commented. « You think clearly, you are very knowledgeable, and you keep yourself well-informed. It would take me a very long time to come anywhere close to your level. »
« "Keeping yourself very informed"….» Mayberry mumbled, as she scribbled in a notebook.
« You've been listening for a while. Are you getting bored? » Ningguang asked.
« Taking notes, actually. Who knew I would had become a students once more. » Mayberry shrugged.
« Ah, so you want to be my competitor. Well then, I suppose I'll have to start looking over my shoulder. » Ningguang smirked.
« Let's not get crazy, shall we? » a nervous Mayberry replied.
« I won't take up any more of your time. Thank you — this lunch was everything I was hoping for and more. I can't wait to try out everything I've learned. » Luo Qiao said, before she left.
« See you next time. I'll look forward to hearing good news from you soon. Right then, lunch is over. I assume you have something planned next? » Ningguang asked Mayberry. « Although... I'm a little concerned about the auction. I wonder how my secretarial trio is getting along. »
« I mean, we can check them out. Schedule is free enough…» Mayberry replied.
« Good, then let's do that. There are some slippery characters among the bidders, you see. » Ningguang explained.
« Wouldn't be surprised if some demons were involved too…» Mayberry commented.
« So even though my secretaries are very capable and experienced, I still can't help worrying for them a little. » Ningguang continued. « Come on. The auction is being held at Yujing Terrace. »
Xxxxxxx
After a while, the duo reached Yujing Terrace.
« Lady Ningguang, what brings you here? » Baixiao asked.
« I couldn't help but feel a little concerned, so I just came to see how everything is going. » Ningguang explained.
« We're about ready, and people are starting to arrive. I think we should be able to start on time. » Baiwen explained.
« Very good. I think I'll host the auction myself. » Ningguang replied.
« Huh? You want to do it yourself? » Baixiao asked.
« Yes, just in case anything untoward happens. I can take care of it myself. » Ningguang replied.
« Then we'll leave the auction itself to you, but we'll be sure to lend our full support behind the scenes. » Baixiao replied.
« Have you attended an auction before? » Ningguang asked Mayberry.
« Not really… » Mayberry shrugged.
« Well, would you like to participate this time? You don't have to bid, of course. Just experience the atmosphere. » Ningguang proposed.
« Well, I don't see an issue with that. » Mayberry shrugged.
« Alright then. Feel free to take a look around the venue before it kicks off. » Ningguang proposed. « Check out the items up for bidding and see if there's anything you might be interested in. »
Xxxxxxx
A few hours later, and the auction was over, and all the items were sold for a high price, something that confused Mayberry.
« Hey boss….» Mayberry asked.
« Yes Mayberry? » Ningguang replied.
« …Were those items you sold worth a damn, or were they valuable just because you "used" them? » Mayberry asked with a deadpan expression.
« That's certainly part of it. But every bidder will have noticed that none of these items have a particularly high going rate on the market in and of themselves. » Ningguang explained. « Despite this, they were all willing to pay very dearly for them. I wonder... is faith in me really the only factor in their appraisal of the items' value? »
« Hell if I know… » Mayberry shrugged.
« You'll see shortly. The one who spent the most money will surely be the quickest to realize. » Ningguang explained. « If all I wanted to do was make some quick Mora by exploiting their blind faith in me, I have a million more effective ways of achieving that than hosting an auction. »
« Go on…» Mayberry replied.
« Every participant in this auction was hand-picked by me, based on certain intelligence. » Ningguang continued.
And so, one man arrived, not particularly happy.
« Lady Ningguang, uh... something doesn't seem quite right with the items from today's auction. » the man explained. « As unlikely as this sounds — and please forgive me for even bringing it up, but I had to ask... uhh... Y—You weren't selling counterfeits today, were you...? »
« Counterfeits? Absolutely not. What motive would anyone have for making copies of things like these? » Ningguang asked. « They are simply ordinary items. And there was no coercion or enticement during the auction — every bid was voluntary. »
« Because we trusted you! » the man protested. « Everyone knows you love Mora, but we also know that you made your fortune through honest means... as opposed to, ahem, scamming people. »
« You seem to have entered into dangerous linguistic territory there. You should know that unless you have evidence to support your outlandish claims, I am legally entitled to sue you for slander. » Ningguang replied. « Of course, if you have any genuine grievances about the auction, the lots, or the process, please enlighten me as to where exactly I went wrong. »
« Well, you truly bring out a good point. » the man noted.
« Glad you understand. » Ninnguang replied.
« Unfortunately, there's a small detail you didn't account for. » the man smirked.
« What do you mean? » Ningguang raised an eyebrow.
In response to this, the man opened a zipper on his head, only to reveal he was actually Sir Pentious, an angry look on his face.
« …Oh shit…» a terrified Mayberry uttered.
« Don't worry. I got this. » Ningguang replied.
« You have a LOOOOT to explain to me as to why you would scam the people of Liyue for your ill affairs! Scammers like you make capitalism look bad! » Sir Pentious demanded.
« These people were tax evaders, as a matter of fact. In a way, they have repaid what they owned to Liyue. » Ningguang explained.
« Well in that case, you're justified. » Pentious shrugged.
« Why did you dress up as a human? » Mayberry asked confused.
« The guy died of a heart attack, and I thought I could sneak up as him unnoticed. And I did! » Pentious declared.
« Did you? » Ningguang asked sarcastically.
« Of course I did! You had no idea who I was! » Pentious declared.
« But did you really? » Ningguang inquired.
« Well, whatever. Since I paid my taxes like a good little industrial, I would like to have my money back. » Pentious declared.
« I'm afraid that won't be possible. » Ningguang replied.
« Bitch what? » Pentious asked angrily.
« You see, all those mora you gave me are enough to give me something you and your little psychotic friends owe me. » Ningguang explained.
« Which is? » an annoyed Pentious asked.
« A therapy session. » Ningguang grinned evilly, as she stared at the demon with crazed eyes.
« …Okayjustdontkillme…» a terrified Pentious declared as he slithered away.
« Pleasure doing business with you~ » Ningguang replied with the same crazed expression, before turning towards Mayberry.
« …Do you need a hug? » a concerned Mayberry asked.
« No, but thanks for the concern. » Ningguang replied.
