{Flashback; Freshman Year}

Kara and Oliver were beginning to date in their freshman year of college and it was going well. She didn't believe that their relationship would last because of how his family is, and she probably would think she was trying to use Oliver. Oliver was in love with Kara and didn't believe she didn't want to be with me because of his last name, she truly loved him for himself and his charm.

Kara and Oliver were chilling in her parent's house as they were out with Alex, helping her get situated in her college dorm room as she was finishing her last year in college before she headed off into the real world.

Alex and her are close, but now that her sister is in her last year of college, it means that they won't be as close as they used to be. She always wonders if she and Oliver will still be together until the end of college.

"This is fun, being able to hide away from my parents and your parents," Oliver said, hugging her from behind.

"Meaning, sleeping behind closed doors while my parents and sister still think I haven't had sex in the same house as them," Kara said and turned around to face him.

Oliver smiled at her as Kara giggled at his face until he brought her closer to him and pulled her in a passionate kiss.

"We're just lucky that we're not at my parent's house instead of yours. At least your mother respects your privacy," Oliver said and Kara chuckled.

"Yeah, your family is way different from mine. They respect my privacy and don't barge in," Kara said and Oliver wrapped his arms around her waist.

"Just in a couple of years, maybe we'll be married and starting a family," Oliver said and Kara looked shocked.

"Marriage and a family. Who knew Oliver Queen would settle down?" Kara asked and squealed when Oliver tickled her.

"I mean it, in the future, whether we're together or not, I want to take you as my wife and the mother of our children," Oliver said, and Kara nodded her head.

"Starting a family with you would be a dream come true, and being your wife would be my life goal that I achieved back in high school," Kara said, and Oliver smiled at her.

"I trust that in the end, everything is going to work out between us. Oliver and Kara are forever," Oliver said and Kara kissed his cheek.

"Forever. No matter what, I'll never break up with you. Me and you are stuck together until the end," Kara said and Oliver looked down at her and smiled.

He looked at her as if it was the last time he'd ever get to hold her and kissed her. As she responded to the kiss, he threw the blankets over their heads as they made love again.

{Five Years Later}

Now, older Kara Danvers was looking through case files as she thought back to her old college days and couldn't help but think about her ex-boyfriend and still miss her after breaking her heart all those years ago.

Detective Joe West made his way through and saw Kara lost in a trance. He called her over, and she smiled at him before she made her way over to him.

Joe knew about Kara's past in Starling City because when she applied to become a police officer in Central City, all she said was that it was best to get away from her past and focus on her future without looking back.

"How's everything going so far? You seem lost in a trance," Joe asked Kara.

"Just some memories coming through my mind. Sorry for not focusing on my work, just my mind keeps flooding back into Starling City," Kara said and patted her back in comfort.

"Don't worry about it; if your mind is still on about Starling City, maybe it's a sign to visit your family and friends," Joe suggested, and Kara shook her head.

"No, my family and friends are now in Central City. Starling City is way behind me, and have you heard the news about Iris," Kara said, and Joe nodded his head.

"Why don't you take an early night off? I'll handle everything with Singh," Joe said, and Kara nodded her head.

Kara grabbed all her things and walked towards the elevator, waiting for it to open up, and stepped in. She headed back to the apartment that she got with the help of her parents and sister after graduating from college.

She walked into her apartment and locked the door after dropping her keys into the bowl, took off her shoes by the door, and sat down on her couch. Kara felt hands massage her shoulders and relaxed knowing who's hands were massaging her.

"Did Joe let you get off early?" He asked her.

"Yeah, he let me take the rest of the night off to spend time with my lovely boyfriend," Kara said and Barry smiled at her.

"Are you still missing your sister and parents?" Barry asked her.

"I miss them, but I'll visit one of these days when they aren't criminals running around anymore," Kara said, and Barry kissed her head.

"I was gonna wait until you were off of work, but my friend wants to have a get-together to reminiscence the old times, and he agreed that I could bring my plus one," Barry said, and Kara smiled at him.

"For the holidays?" Kara asked him.

"Yeah, I told them that we would have dinner with Joe before making our way to Starling City," Barry said, and Kara froze when he mentioned Starling City.

"Sounds fun. I would love to meet your friend that you have made," Kara said, and Barry kissed her on the lips.

"Thanks; I met them through Cisco because he's friends with Felicity Smoak," Barry said, and Kara nodded her head.

"Let's head to bed; I'm so tired from doing the last case Captain Singh handed to me," Kara said, and Barry helped her off the couch.

"Of course, let's go to bed. Tomorrow, we're supposed to meet up with Iris," Barry said, and Kara smiled.

"Let's take a shower before going to bed; I feel disgusting after the work and bad guys I had to chase down," Kara said, and Barry nodded his head.

They headed off to the bathroom and got ready for their shower. After their activities and taking a shower, they went to their bedroom and did their usual night routine before lying down in their bed. Kara was the first one to be knocked out from the day she had, and Barry turned off the lights before falling asleep a couple of minutes after her.

Starling City: Queen Mansion

Oliver was in his bedroom looking through old pictures of his high school and college memories. He stumbled on a picture of him and Kara, he badly missed her and wondered if she ever thought about him still. Thea doesn't acknowledge him and their mother after the way she treated Kara.

His biggest mistake was letting her go, and now he's with Laurel. His mother was happy about his relationship with a lawyer, and his father was not all pleased about what his mother put his past relationships through. Sara and Kara's sister were seeing each other, but it didn't help the fact they hated him for breaking Kara's heart.

The Danvers and Lance's family had this grudge against Oliver and Quentin didn't like him with his daughter. The only thing that Oliver doesn't know about his ex-girlfriend is that she's gonna be visiting for Thanksgiving with her new boyfriend. Everyone didn't know how dinner was gonna go when Oliver laid eyes on his best friend, who was like a brother to him and was dating his ex-girlfriend.

Sara wasn't a big fan of Laurel dating Oliver months after Kara and him broke up, but she never listened and fell in love with him. Moira accepted Laurel as Oliver's girlfriend, but the only one who couldn't stand her was Thea who let out smart remarks about taking Kara's leftovers.

"Mom wants you downstairs, she has plans for Thanksgiving," Thea said, opening Oliver's bedroom door.

"Tell her I'll be down in a minute," Oliver said, hiding the pictures of Kara and him.

"Tell her yourself, I'm not your messenger. I rather be anywhere else than in the same house as you and Mom. I wish I could've gone with Kara when she left," Thea said before walking out of his bedroom.

Oliver looked at his little sister hurt because all she'd ever been doing the past year was hating him and their mother. The only person she's ever nice to is their father and their friends. It felt useless to try and connect with his sister who started hating him after he let Kara go and let their mother win.

"I'm guessing that Thea is still hating you after Kara left," Tommy said, walking into his bedroom.

"Pretty much, and I know letting Kara go was my biggest mistake, but my mother was never gonna let Kara be with me," Oliver said, and Tommy nodded his head.

"As your best friend, you did make the biggest mistake of letting Kara go. Thea is right about letting your mom win; now Kara could be starting a new life that you two wished for yourself," Tommy pointed out the fact Kara could be married and start a family.

"I know. Sometimes I wish that my mother could have accepted her years ago and now she could be having a family and getting married. The life that I wanted to give her, and now I'm dating Laurel, and no one likes me anymore," Oliver said, and Tommy patted his back.

"Why don't you plan your own Thanksgiving party and bring everyone together? Send an invite to Kara even if she does not show up," Tommy asked Oliver and he nodded his head.

"I already planned a party to bring everyone together; I'm just hoping that they show up even if it's planned by Oliver Queen, the main guy they hate after breaking up with Kara," Oliver said, and Tommy chuckled.

"I'll be there right by your side, and I do love helping throw parties," Tommy said, and Oliver chuckled.

"Barry said that he's bringing his new girlfriend with him to the party. Laurel didn't like the idea when I was planning on having a party," Oliver said and Tommy scoffed.

"Laurel's trying to control you, and I, for one, know that Kara wouldn't have controlled you," Tommy said, and Oliver nodded his head.

"I should head downstairs before my mother comes up and gets me herself," Oliver said and Tommy laughed as they walked out of his bedroom.

They both head downstairs to see his mother waiting patiently for him. He knew that look on her face and ignored it. His mother went on about their Thanksgiving plans and Oliver mentioned after their dinner that he'll be out celebrating with his friends.

Moira noticed the look on her son and daughter's faces since Kara left Starling City, it was like she took their happiness with her. She felt guilty for wishing that Oliver had broken up with her, and now Thea couldn't even stand looking at her mother and brother's faces.

National City: Danvers Household

Jeremiah and Eliza were making dinner for Alex and her girlfriend Sara. They could get used to the company while their other daughter is settling down in Central City with her new life and new boyfriend.

Alex and Sara haven't exactly told their friends about Kara's new relationship with Barry. They knew Oliver moving on made them a little mad, but Kara deserved to have a new life and a new boyfriend after Oliver broke up with her.

Sara hasn't been around her normal family dinners with Laurel because she couldn't stand her older sister just dating Oliver months after his past relationship ended because of his mother. Laurel ignored her family's wishes to break things off with Oliver and date someone like Tommy but she didn't accept the fact that her family never cared for her happiness.

"So, how are things going in Starling City with your family Sara?" Eliza asked her.

"It's good. Just my sister doesn't like my father's input about her relationship with Oliver," Sara said, and Jeremiah nodded.

"Your father is making a good decision; I shouldn't have let him in my daughter's life if I knew he was gonna break her heart," Jeremiah said, and Eliza calmed her husband down.

"Well, I talked to Kara and she's doing good over in Central City. Joe is taking good care of her and not letting her do any dangerous cases," Alex said and Eliza nodded her head.

"That's good that someone is watching her back, how about her and her new boyfriend?" Eliza asked her.

"Barry and her are good. They've been together for almost 2 or 3 years. We always ask if Barry is gonna pop the question sooner or later," Sara said and Alex nodded her head.

"We heard that Oliver is throwing a party and invited Barry and his new girlfriend to join him," Jeremiah said and Alex froze at that topic.

"Barry hasn't told Oliver that his new girlfriend is his ex-girlfriend. One of the things that's gonna be awkward at the party," Sara said.

"Let's hope not because I think the only reason Oliver's throwing a party is to get everyone to like him again," Alex said and Sara nodded her head.

"Well, let's eat and plan out what we are going to do tomorrow," Jeremiah said and Alex smiled.

"Tomorrow, we should visit Kara in Central City," Eliza suggested for them to do tomorrow.

"That sounds like a good idea, and you all can meet Barry personally," Alex said, and Sara nodded her head.

They all agreed tomorrow that they will see Kara tomorrow. Eliza and Jeremiah haven't seen their other daughter since graduation a few years ago. They knew she wouldn't visit Starling City without having to bump into Oliver, Kara wanted to avoid Oliver at all costs after everything he did to her.

Oliver was on Kara's mind from time to time and she wished that sometimes she didn't have to think about him. Those years together with Oliver made her happy and now they are dead, and she's happy with Barry now.

Reconnecting with Oliver will only create complications in her new relationship.
