The New World

Even deep in the second half of the Grand Line, the war was followed by some of the named pirates that ruled parts of the sea having a live feed on the current events.

In one particular archipelago, that was deep in the New World with dozens of islands surrounding the main one, it was the largest and most populated within the territory.

Big Mom's Territory - Yes, this was the home turf of the Big Mom Pirates, one of the four Emperors of the Sea, and here on Whole Cake Island, lived one of those big shots.

"Mama-hahaha!"

That laughter came from the giant obese woman who stood nearly thirty feet tall and was the same age as the person she was watching on the screen. Old age had also given her the reputation of being a vicious emperor, a powerful ruler, yet even the birth giver of many of her children. She was Charlotte Linlin, better known as Big Mom.

Sitting in her large seat, Big Mom grabbed a handful of sweets she propped into her mouth as she was in her garden where a large screen with a transponder snail was transmitting the live feed of the war in Marineford.

"Oh, what a sight to behold," Big Mom chuckled while enjoying her snack. "Whitebeard's entrance, Fire Fist's father being Gold Roger, oh the action is overwhelming…"

Now in the garden by herself, Big Mom was only with her guards who were just pawns in comparison to her children who were busy on the other islands, administrating their respective territories. Still, the moment she spotted a person of significance, she ordered the presence of one of her children.

One in particular.

"Mama?"

The giant woman's smile grew wider as she turned around. "It is nice to see you again, Katakuri, been way too long."

Walking in came one of the oldest children of Big Mom, also one of the strongest, a member of the Three Sweet Commanders and the governor of the Komugi Island, Minister of Flour but also a tall dangerous man with a bounty of over 1 billion berries.

16 feet, tall limbs, thick thighs, power rivaling the giants, but was not one himself, short spiky crimson hair, two symmetric scars on both sides of his face, an oversized scarf covering his lower face making his mouth invisible to all - he was Charlotte Katakuri.

"You called for me, Mama?" Katakuri asked his mother in a polite tone, with someone equally strong as him, he was also well-mannered and calm, "I was planning to watch the war with my siblings."

It wasn't a secret that all the Charlotte family members were watching the war in Marineford from their respective islands they were governing from, with good reasons. Given that whatever outcome was to come, Big Mom wanted security to be on high alert in case the chaos would erupt near her territory.

"Well, look for yourself," Linlin smiled and pointed her finger at the screen, "Isn't that your officer friend from the Foreign Legion?"

Katakuri was confused by what his mother mentioned before he turned to the screen - expecting nothing more than Whitebeard, his mom's rival and fellow Emperor, fighting against the Marines-

"... So he is still alive…"

"Mama-hahaha!" Linlin smiled at the screen with full attention with eagerness to see more as she grabbed a handful of sweets. "And I thought Bishop's boys were all dead and gone, I'd like to see what they are going to do to those marines…"

Katakuri just stood there, watching the screen being focused on the one person who was leading his men, whom he had encountered years ago, alongside others of his siblings who met the legendary officer before his clearly false demise.

"So, what do you see in his future, son?"

Crossing his arms, the Charlotte Sweet General could only make one comment.

"He is unpredictable."

Marineford

"RETREAT!"

On the rear of the fort, several marines found themselves running for their lives while under heavy gunfire. Tasked to hold the line, they however were pushed back.

"TANK!"

But it wasn't the pirates who had broken through, as the mechanical tracks were rolling over the ground, one of the smaller beasts of the Legion was taking the chase after the fleeing marines with the support of infantry behind this reliable tank - the FT-17.

This two-man tank with a machine gun and small cannon was enough to cause enough disruption among the low-ranking but still formidable marines and their officers who were not prepared to face such weapons.

"Force them back! Widen up the front." One of the infantrymen supporting the tank shouted out to the others while firing his rifle. "Give them no breathing room to link up with the main force!"

It wouldn't take long before one daring Marine officer came out with a unit with bazookas standing behind him.

"Ready!"

The Bazooka team kneeled into position.

"Aim!"

Followed by raising up the heavy guns, the marines aimed directly at the tank.

"FIRE!-"

Multiple bazookas were fired at the tank, with the projectiles aimed at the tank that was not quick enough to react.

*SLASH!*

The projectiles were sliced in half and exploded, nullifying the attempts of the now-shocked marines.

"What-"

*SLASH!*

The marine officer who ordered the unit was the only one to notice the quick flashy figure that went past him, noticing and gasping in shock who it was.

Donned in the traditional samurai armor with two large slash marks forming a cross on his chest plate and several faulds with a shoulder guard, the man happened to be recognized by the officer.

"Y-You!"

The sword that was just used was put back into the scabbard, and the wielder didn't waste much to turn around to face his enemies but spared a few words.

"You were unfortunate to get in our way."

*Click!*

The moment the sword was put into the scabbard, the marines who were victims of the blade fell down in pain with the wounds they'd been given, including the officer who commanded them, ending up in defeat.

"Move out!"

The man watched as the tank and its infantry backup drove past him, with some of the men noticing him.

"Tatewaki, let's move!"

The person named was a Legionnaire, was a man standing out in both his background and his dress that of a traditional Samurai warrior from the Shinobi Lands, yet he considered himself to be a rogue for his past actions and convictions he lost but was a formidable fighter who earned himself as one by the scar that ran through his left eye.

Tatewaki stood there and watched his comrades move forward to try and cause as much chaos before they would join again with the captain to whom he swore loyalty years ago.

"HE DEFEATED A GIANT!"

The shout of anguish was all that was needed to state the current state of affairs.

On the ground stood Naruto, on high alert as he noticed that alongside Ivankov's people and some of his own in the center. The captain found out they were in a position of getting fully encircled by the number of Marine and Marine officers who were of significantly lower rank.

Lower rank, sure, but still significant. These officers were not to be underestimated.

The dust was settling that was caused by the giant's fall, and there they could see they were indeed fully surrounded.

"Ah! I'm back to normal!" Luffy jumped from behind, next to Naruto. "What now?"

"You attracted their attention, Straw Hat, that's what."

Pissed off they were true, with the Okamas of Ivankov facing them off now with only a few feet of ice separating them, they wanted for the first to make their move.

"Charge!"

The order contained everything needed for the Marines to make the first move, with hundreds of them. In return, the Okama people returned the favor by counter-attacking.

Luffy was about to join in when he saw something landing from above, leaving a trail of fume revealing.

They landed in front of the marines that were in front of his path and caused confusion among the officers. Covering the area with smoke that was so thick that it even stopped the charging marines who were left in confusion.

"What the hell, smoke grenades?" One officer with a sword spoke.

It was that another officer happened to look around before something tapped his boot, and looking back down, the man's face turned pale to see what it was.

It was a grenade.

*BOOM!*

The explosion was met with cries of pain from the Marines who were caught by it, but it wasn't over.

"ON ME!"

*CRUNCH!*

One marine was unfortunate enough to have been hit across the face with the end of a steel club that was being held by one of the Damned Raiders, who wore armor and goggles that covered his face.

"Damned Raiders! Clear a path!" The club-wielding Legionnaire orders his men, "To the scaffold!"

With that ferocity, the Raiders went on the frontal assault with the intent of catching the Marines in close-quarter combat, showing their skills just there like how they would with their rifles.

One marine for example found himself getting hit in the arm by an axe, with the wielder proceeding to throw the marine away like used meat and slash his bloodied blade for the next opponent.

Or how one Raider managed to knock out another Marine officer unconscious with one vicious blow to the face with his metal knuckle dusters that undoubtedly broke his jaw. It even got as far as one angry Legionnaire using the butt of his rifle to start smacking one suit-wearing marine to the ground with nothing but brute strength to overpower him.

Luffy was moved again by the way these guys were fighting.

"Wow, your crew is really tough."

"That's why I trust them and so should you," Naruto told his straw-hatted friend and ran past him, "Let's go, on me."

"Right!" Luffy followed up right behind the blond, going through the chaos to try and reach the Plaza.

Fighting their way through the lines of marines who were not budging down, they were intent on holding the line if not able to break through.

One marine with a giant club tried to hit Luffy, only for him to take it into his stomach to bounce it off to then just punch him right across the face.

"Get Straw Hat!"

"No! Get Uzumaki! He's distracted!"

Luffy heard that and turned around to see a group of marines with blades going for the offensive, trying to attack Naruto from behind with him having his back turned while fighting another bladed Marine officer with his own.

"Naruto look out!"

Naruto kicked the obnoxious marine in the face before he turned around to face the three others who were coming for him, using his Tantō to counter them.

"Slice him to pieces!"

Simply dodging their measly attempted attacks on him, Naruto just grabbed the arm of the third Marine and headbutted him, hitting the man right in the nose for him to drop his own blade.

Naruto proceeded to focus on the second one who tried to attack him from the left, only to block his blade with his own and then force it down before he slashed his Tantō across the man's chest to neutralize him, just when the first and leading marine tried to attack him from the right.

"Bastard!" the marine shouted with anger, swinging his sword at him.

*CLING!*

The marine's blade clashed with that of Naruto, visibly struggling.

"H-How?"

"Come at me when you are smarter," Naruto advised the marine, not putting much effort, pushing him away before he slashed at him, destroying the sword in half with taking out the last of the group.

"I GOT YOU NOW-"

*BANG!*

The gunshot came from behind and Naruto turned back around to see the office he fought earlier had tried to attack him again.

Instead, he sank to his knees, saying nothing much but a whimper before he fell down to the ground defeated, with a clear gunshot present on his back that was of a giant hole.

The cause of that hole came from a double-barrel sawed-off shotgun that was being held by the same goggles-wearing Raider who was holding his club in the other hand.

"Captain, you alright?"

"I am. Thank you, Clubby,"

"FIRE!"

Multiple cannons were fired at the rescue party, aiming directly at the escaped inmates of Impel Down.

"Get down!"

Several cannonballs hit the area around the targeted group, and even a few were unlucky to have been hit in the bombardment.

"Allow me!" Luffy jumped up to counter it. "GUM-GUM-"

One cannonball was coming directly for him.

"BALLOON!"

Luffy inflated himself like a giant balloon, bouncing the cannonballs back to the cannons, and destroying them.

"DEATH WINK!"

A gap in their line was created by the simple attack by Ivankov himself who happened to join the group by jumping into the group. Seeing his people were fighting, he also saw that Straw Hat was fighting alongside the Damned who were just like him showing no signs of hesitation.

"YEEEEHAW!" Ivankov shouted out of excitement as he saw the current situation for himself, "I see Straw Boy is still going and with those tough boys as well."

Luffy turned around, spotting his backup. "Iva!"

"Ivankov, you and your people clear the rears," Naruto called to his men while pulling out his revolver that he was busy reloading. "Damned Raiders, support Straw Hat in his advance!"

"Yes sir!"

"Jimbei!" Naruto shouted for him, finished reloading his gun before putting it away, "You still with us?"

"Right behind you!" Jimbei responded, joining the group. "Let us continue with the push!"

Just then they were met with another group of assaulting Marines coming for them.

"Let's go!"

"FISHMAN KARATE…"

"DEATH…."

"GUM-GUM…"

Naruto began pulling out his Katana from the scabbard, with a bit of orange energy flowing into it.

"Demon…."

Dozens of Marines who were brave or stupid enough to jump above the four individuals were about to experience the combined strength of these powerful beings-

"5000 BRICK FIST!"

"WINK!"

"BAZOOKA!"

"SLASH!"

All these attacks at once caused a major effect that sprung all across the battlefield, taking out anything in its path of that strong surge of power, with the dozens of marines and the hundreds behind them to be taken out in one fell swoop, with them sent flying on all sides.

One was even unfortunate enough to be only in hand distance away from Ivankov, who grabbed him by the crutch.

"AHHH!" The marine yelled in pain.

"On we go!" Ivankov shouted. The Impel Down escapees went on the offensive again and picked up speed, with the full intent of breaking through further and causing more chaos across the battlefield. The Damned went on further to even provide covering fire from the flanks.

With the marines on the sides unable to stop them, they were being forced to deal with the armored units of the Damned who were giving them full hell with all the firepower they got.

"ACE!" Luffy shouted for his brother while he kept on running, "I'M COMING!"

High above the sky flew still the Bristol biplane that was being flown by the two aviators who had commandeered it from the ship they've escaped Impel Down with, with both the pilot and gunner watching the mayhem unfold.

Clyde Blackburn was the pilot's name, someone who wasn't a new face in the Foreign Legion - nor to trouble, especially to the last part. A veteran of the Elemental War, he was an experienced and perhaps one of the best pilots of the world, having served from Haran to the very end of Ame, one of the very few of the old timers who had survived for that long.

Funny, old timers, he wasn't even in his 30s and he had already gotten that reputation. That and also of him being a dishonest person when it came to playing cards.

"Blackburn!"

Turning around to his gunner and fellow veteran, Seamus Wilson. He was the more levelheaded and smarter one of the two, who despite being a good shot was not much of a wild card like his pilot counterpart.

"Look down!" Pointing down to the ground, Wilson warned, "Captain is facing some big trouble, can we do a flyover?"

Blackburn took a peak at what his gunner was pointing at, nodding in agreement, he began steering the ship for a dive towards the enemy position.

"Hold tight!"

…

Gecko Moriah stood there and watched, unable to even move. He saw Straw Hat alongside Uzumaki were making their way across the battlefield.

"Incoming!"

Moriah turned up and saw that one of those biplanes were diving, firing its machine guns into the crowds of marines who were dispersing quickly, trying to not get hit or were getting hit.

Some of those rounds hit the giant Moriah who only moved his head slightly as the biplane flew past him, with the gunner even continuing to fire down below, causing more chaos as some marines were firing back.

"Moriah!"

Turning back around, it was then where he was faced by the presence of several individuals, who were the last people he wanted to come across.

It was Jimbei, alongside two other members of Uzumaki's group, Shikamaru Nara and one Gin, who had his tonfas out while all three were a good distance away from the shadow collector.

Jimbei stood in his stance and gave a clear warning, "I will not allow you to hold us back, Moriah."

Gecko Moriah stood there and found himself suddenly flanked, watching as Uzumaki and Straw Hat kept on advancing without giving much of a moment to acknowledge his presence.

"I guess…this is for the best."

"Huh?" Jimbei was confused and turned to the others, "Why is he frozen up like that?"

Gin cracked a smirk, "I guess he hasn't forgotten what our captain did to him years ago…"

"He fought him?" More confused, Jimbei turned to the smart Nara. "Did he?"

"He spared him, that's what he did." Shikamaru stated, sighing, "It was a drag, really, the amount of blood that needed to be cleaned up. It was if it belonged to a giant."

Hearing that caused Jimbei to be even more surprised, turning to Moriah who had an horrified expression on his face, only confirming what was being said.

"Let us not focus on that right now, shall we?" Shikamaru stated as he went into position of using his technique, "Gin, keep those zombies back."

"On it," Gin prepared his tonfas for close combat, "Boss Jimbei, waiting for you."

Getting back on track, Jimbei prepared for full on combat against the warlord who once was his unfortunate colleague, having no qualm fighting this man, he nodded in confirmation.

"Right!"

*KICK!*

The sound of another marine getting kicked away, it was Ivankov who was up ahead with Naruto, clearing a path for Luffy who was trying to catch up with them.

Happening to turn around, Naruto saw that three marines tried to attack Luffy, with all three meeting similar fates of being knocked out without any second thoughts by the kid who just smashed them a distance away.

"That's Straw Hat!"

Then that familiar voice caught Naruto's attention, spotting it was the blue-haired swordswoman marine in her jacket.

"MOVE, TASHIGI!"

Bursting past the woman, a smoke-covered being dashed across the battlefield in such speed that made it impossible for anyone to recognize who it was.

And it was going for Luffy.

"Shit."

*CLINK!*

The sound of blades clashing caused Luffy to turn around and be shocked to see what just happened only mere meters away from him.

Two weapons clashed hard with the strength of their wielders, a Jitte and a Katana to be precise, and there he saw it was Naruto who was wielding the blade that had blocked the Jitte that belonged to…

"Smokey!"

Smoker himself was now confronting Naruto with his own blade. The two of them were now just an ear distance away from each other.

…

"Commodore Smoker is fighting Uzumaki!"

Multiple heads turned to the call of warning, watching as indeed the Commodore and the Captain, both known to have history, a reputation, and acknowledgment for being powerful fighters, were now facing each other off.

One of them was Tashigi, watching in a conflicted state as she saw two people who she knew were now on the verge of fighting against one another, silent as she could hear other voices.

"Damn, the Captain is fighting against Smoker?" One of the Damned was heard saying, "Too bad, I owe the prick a favor for saving my life."

"It's Smoker, I doubt the Captain will kill him. Given both served the longest in Konoha."

"Smoker fought alongside Uzumaki in Konoha?" One of Iva's half-naked friends asked in surprise, "I never knew that."

Even a few of the Warlords, like the very flashy man himself, Donquixote Doflamingo, who was surrounded by the corpses of his opponents, smiling at what he was watching with joy.

"Such a fascinating sight. Brother-in-arms fighting brothers-in-arms!" Doflamingo commented and laughed at the event, "Ah! Such precious moments to watch!"

"Get him!" Several pirates were charging for the Warlord, "take him out while he's distracted!"

Doflamingo's smile didn't change when he faced back to the pirates who thought they had a chance against him. Ruining their hope in his way to spare the time.

…

Still holding back, Naruto had just stopped the end of Smoker's Jitte being struck into the face of Straw Hat, remembering the weapon's material origins.

"I nearly forgot your weapon is made out of sea stone, Smoker. It's quite efficient for dealing with Devil Fruit users." Naruto began, speaking out of admiration for it, a smirk clear on his face. "I commend you for it, Smoker."

"I can say the same thing for your blade, Naruto. Your blade has been given some modifications."

"That it did, but I didn't do it myself, but you know that I'm more into talking about guns." Naruto replied back, still smiling, "So how about you step aside?"

"Naruto! Look out!" Luffy shouted at him from a distance, "Smokey's weapon is really strong!"

…

'Pffft Smokey.'

"If you even think saying that, I will be breaking your bones, kid." Smoker warned him, irritated as he kept pushing, "And you stand down, I will not be standing back."

Then two pairs of legs were rushing for the fight at high speed.

"Then sorry but I got to go-"

'LOOK OUT!'

"Huh-"

*PUNCH!*

Out of nowhere, the standoff fight between the two men got interrupted, with Smoker forced to watch in surprise at what had just happened right in front of him. Naruto just got straight-up punched across the face, by the last person he should've forgotten about who also was close to the blond commander, and was in a much less forgiving state than himself.

"What the hell?"

An angry but clearly more frustrated Tashigi held her sword yet used her other glove-wearing hand to lay a hook punch on Naruto at the least expected moment.

"Ensign Tashigi!"

Send back a few meters, Naruto landed a few meters back, ending up right next to Luffy who was just as surprised as everyone else.

Standing back up slowly, Naruto twitched his eyes after he got punched, and it wasn't a light one either.

"Naruto!" Luffy turned to him, "Are you alright?"

Naruto didn't respond directly, facing off a glance towards Smoker and a clearly enraged Tashigi who was holding her blade. Ready to go on.

"Yeah, I'm alright-"

"SCUM!"

*KICK!*

Not spared again, Naruto this time got hit right in the head without hesitation, this time by a leg with a black heel.

"Captain Uzumaki's hit!"

Send back another few meters, Naruto this time only got himself to blame for letting his guard down, landing just in front of several of his men who came to aid him.

"Shoot the culprit….ah shit…"

"Who was it…"

"Oh, not her."

"Crap."

Getting back up, a bit of blood was leaking from Naruto's temple, dizzy as he now was, his vision was clear to see who the person was who kicked him straight up with that power.

The leg belonged to the only female of the Seven Warlords, a pirate known for her beauty that turned men into stone, carried by her companion giant snake and standing tall in a purple dress, Her anger was clear to see at whom it was directed at.

Boa Hancock was pissed, and Naruto was her target.
