The Next Morning...
Kara slowly started to wake up and saw that Oliver was bringing up breakfast for her. She sighed knowing that she needed to be on bed rest, but Kara was tired of being stuck in bed.
Oliver sat her breakfast carefully on the bed and put her orange juice next to her on the dresser right beside her. He knows that Kara doesn't like this bed rest that her midwife suggested that she be doing before the baby arrives.
"I know that you're tired of being in this bed, but you're almost due," Oliver said.
"I know. It's just being stuck in this bedroom is boring. I know that I'm close to giving birth, but being glued to this bed is getting boring," Kara said, as Oliver sighed.
"You heard the midwife about staying in bed. Just a few more weeks and you can finally leave the bedroom," Oliver said and Kara groaned.
"Fine. Aren't you going to work?" Kara asked.
"Yeah, I'll be taking William to school and picking him up, too. Just don't move around too much," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"Alright, I'll be heading out. If you need anything, just call me, and I'll send over the midwife to help you out with anything," Oliver said before leaving for work and taking William to school.
After Oliver left, Kara had to herself busy; if she didn't, she'd lose her mind. She understood that she was under Oliver's care, but she got annoyed by him being too strict on her pregnancy.
In The Afternoon...
In the middle of the day, Kara kept feeling pain in her belly, but she ignored it because she thought it was just the baby kicking her. She read the book that she might be experiencing Braxton Hicks and relaxed a bit.
Oliver agreed to lunch with his company, and a friend of William picked him up, and they were at their place hanging out. Kara had been watching movies all day and was starving; she tried to get in contact with Oliver, but she was getting hungry.
Kara slowly got out of bed and made it down the stairs. She looks through the fridge for some food to eat and finds nothing good and decides to order some pizzas for her and the baby. She walked over to the phone and ordered some pizzas as she felt another sharp pain in her abdomen.
After she made her order, she relaxed on the couch and started whispering to her baby. She didn't want to feel the pain anymore and wanted to be able to hold her baby already.
"Just let me relax for a couple of minutes, Tommy. You've been kicking mommy too much and it hurts," Kara said, rubbing her stomach.
The minute she kept feeling the pain in her abdomen, she relaxed on the couch and called her midwife and heard that she was on her way to the Queen Household. Kara lay on the couch as she waited for at least someone to come home until she heard the sound of a car pulling up in the driveway.
Oliver walked into the house with William and saw that Kara was on the couch and quickly ran towards her. He lifted her face to see her in pain as he saw that she was holding her stomach.
"Is the baby coming?" Oliver asked immediately worried.
"No, I don't think so. My water hasn't even broken yet," Kara said as they heard someone knocking on the door.
"Who's that knocking on the door, Dad?" William asked.
"I don't know, buddy. I'll go check it out," Oliver said as he walked over to the front door.
"It either has to be the pizza guy or the midwife," Kara said and Oliver looked at her.
"You got out of the bed when the midwife told you that you were strictly to be on bed rest," Oliver said.
"Don't give me that look. You were the one who was gone and didn't answer my phone calls, so yes, I got out of bed to order some pizza for me and the baby. And I felt pain in my abdomen, and I called the midwife," Kara said before holding her stomach again.
Oliver answered the door and the midwife quickly walked in and went over to Kara. She checked to make sure there was nothing wrong with the baby. Oliver and William waited for the results, he was scared that Kara would lose the baby and it would be his fault because he didn't pick up his phone.
"Good thing, it was just Braxton Hicks. It happens to all women close to giving birth," The midwife told Kara and Oliver.
"I figured it would be that, once I have this baby, I'll be glad to get my figure back and not worry about another pregnancy," Kara said, and Oliver nodded.
"Well, everything seems okay and nothing is wrong with your baby. Make sure you are close to her 24/7 to make sure that nothing happens to her or the baby. Who knows that she could have given birth on her own without the proper treatment," The midwife said, and Oliver nodded his head.
"Thanks for coming, and hopefully next time it'll be when the baby arrives this time," Kara said as Oliver let the midwife out.
Oliver walked back into the living and sat next to her and Kara knew the look on his face. She's seen it too many times with her old team and family.
"It's not your fault, Oliver. You were busy at work and it was just some Braxton Hicks. Tommy and I are gonna be fine," Kara said before squeezing his hand.
"I know. If I just answered your phone call, maybe I would've helped you with this," Oliver said,d and Kara pouted.
"You're here now and you stayed by my side. I know it's been hard staying low because of our friends and old team. Soon, you gonna have to tell them that I'm alive and I'm changed," Kara said, and Oliver shook his head.
"Not yet. I don't trust your team and what they'll do when they find out that you didn't die that day and try to hurt you or Tommy," Oliver said, not taking the chance of telling their friends and teams.
"Okay, but I can't wait years just for them to find out that I'm alive and you were in hiding with me to just protect me," Kara said.
"I didn't just do this to protect you; I did it to protect William, too. If the F.B.I. finds out that I'm the Green Arrow, then I'm toast, and William is in a foster home, and I don't want that for him. He already lost one parent, and I can afford him to lose another one," Oliver explained, and Kara understood.
"I'm guessing you can say that you're also on the run with me," Kara answered for him.
"Yeah. And I promise to protect you and your baby with my life even if it means betraying our friends to do that," Oliver promised Kara.
"I wondered what our team is doing right now?" Kara questioned and Oliver shrugged his shoulders.
"Probably doing everything in their power to keep their city safe, mourning the loss of a friend, and dealing with me disappearing without a trace," Oliver said, listing off things their friends could be doing.
"Smartass," Kara playfully hit his shoulder.
"They're gonna be fine and their lease of our worries. We have to move on and not look back at our past," Oliver said.
"Even if it means not seeing your sister and your old team again," Kara said and looked at him.
"Yeah, I want her to come with us and be part of the runaway crew, but she could start the life she was meant to have," Oliver said, and Kara only nodded her head.
"We should head to bed; I'm pretty sure William passed out from hanging out at his friend's house all afternoon," Kara said; before she could get up, they heard the doorbell go off.
"Who would be ringing our doorbell this late at night now?" Oliver asked as he went over to the door.
"It's probably my pizza delivery that I ordered while William and you were out," Kara said, sitting up on the couch.
Oliver answered the door and came back with pizza boxes as he looked at her. He held about five boxes of pizza and gave her a know look as she blushed.
"It's for the baby, and no judging me; it's your doppelgänger's fault for knocking me up and having to deal with the cravings," Kara said, and Oliver raised his hands.
"I'll help you because the company's dinner was a disaster. Everyone wanted to get Chinese food, tacos, or burgers, and I didn't feel like denying their invitation," Oliver said, and Kara agreed.
"I don't have a problem with that, and I'm pretty sure that I can't eat all these pizzas by myself," Kara said before opening up a pizza box and Oliver turning on the TV.
Middle of The Night...
In the middle of the night, William woke up and saw Kara and Oliver snuggling on the table, before collecting the pizza boxes and setting them on the table. He grabbed the blanket off the couch and put it on them as they continued to sleep.
He turned off the TV and headed back upstairs to go back to sleep. Before he did, he smiled at the scene of his dad and his super friend sleeping close together, hoping to see that there would be feelings involved between the two of them. He liked Kara and his dad seemed happier around her.
Oliver woke up a few minutes after feeling a blanket being put on him and seeing him holding Kara close to him. He smiled as he looked down at Kara, he didn't want to admit to Kara that he had hidden feelings for her ever since the Dominator Invasion and he acted like a douchebag to her.
He fell back asleep holding her close to him, hoping that they could be like this the whole time. He wants to express his feelings to her but is afraid of her reaction and doesn't want the rejection, and he is humiliated about letting his feelings out for her.
Kara opened her eyes and saw that Oliver was sleeping, she didn't want to admit that he looked handsome as he slept. She wanted to tell him how she felt about him ever since she met his dopplegänger. The well Oliver made her feel made her think that Earth-1 Oliver could stand a chance and be a real family.
Kara wanted to tell her feelings to him, but she was afraid of rejection and if he was even over Felicity completely because they had been engaged before and been together multiple times and you can't just get over that love so easily. She admired his features and hoped one day maybe she could have a love life too while being a runaway from her old team and friends.
They both had a fear of rejection from each other, but they never knew about each other's feelings to know if they were being rejected. All they want is happiness and being around each other these past few months made them think that it was a sign for them to be together.
Kara had a lot of trauma in her mind and through growing up to be the hero she was before the betrayal of her team, and Oliver had trauma of his own with being stuck on the Island of Lian Yu for 5 years and dealing with the nightmares. They both had scars from Lian Yu and having to see their planet explode, having their pod get knocked off course into the phantom zone, and sleeping for 24 years.
All she wanted to do was have a normal life, and she had a feeling that she would be able to have it if she admitted her feelings to Oliver and him. They've been through so much and Oliver didn't have to worry about putting someone he liked in danger because Kara was indestructible and was an alien.
In their minds, all they wanted to do was admit their feelings towards each other, but fear was stopping them because the other person might not feel the same way about each other. They just need a little push for them to see that they like each other and William was willing to do that for his dad.
