Hey guys.
While calling out some things I'm debating on making some slight changes including my random NCIS one shots on putting them all in one place. Either here or a different story.
Regardless onwards.
Kill Screen 8x16 – Director's office
Vance chewing on a toothpick behind the desk is standing up looking at Gibbs who is meeting his level gaze with the usual unflinching gaze.
"Do you even understand why you are here?" Vance inquiries.
"Maybe because you are going to finally give Agent McGee back to me after his three weeks missing off the record" Gibbs demands.
"No, I'm not even though McGee is finishing up at the Pentagon after the massive virus got inside since you decided to shoot at the machines instead of listening to Agent McGee's instructions. I know you have a habit of hating computers or even the people who use them, after all, everybody knows how you have let DiNozzo get away with mocking McGee for years because of it. Only there's no avoiding consequences this time" Vance says.
"Why? Because I didn't care to take time listening to nonsense? Everybody knows I hate wasting my time with useless crap" Gibbs snarls.
"Agent Gibbs stuff your drenched puppy marine act, it doesn't work on me. Next, you seem to be under the impression this is still somewhere between the 1940's or 60's, possibly even somewhat later. Like computers are just some passing fad, they are not. You're in the twenty-first century regardless of whether we like it or not tech is advancing. Honestly, I'm done having my agency or my agents suffer under an obsolete dinosaur who throws childish fits 'cause he hates computers" Vance says.
"You're firing me I didn't waste time listening to a tech guy whose best use is behind those things? I always take the direct approach" Gibbs says furiously.
"I'm removing you from this agency for a whole host of reasons. One just so happens to be your dislike of an individual who contrary to your short-term memory has helped solve countless cases. Never mind believing McGee should be forced to a desk or Miss Sciuto's lab assistant and your cowboy attitude with dislike of modern technology putting our country's national security at precarious risk. This comes from the top as SecNav wants you gone as I do" Vance replies in a furious yet ice tone "Your badge, and gun, now."
Glaring Gibbs removes both items setting them on the desk when security guards enter as the MCRT leader exits quietly.
A nearly twenty-year career at NCIS ended all cause of Gibbs's dislike for computers.
Singled Out 4x03 - Bullpen
Watching DiNozzo angrily leave Timothy looks up when Gibbs walks over.
"McGee, how long have I been an NCIS special agent?" Gibbs asks.
"Sixteen years" Timothy replies.
"Wanna take a wild guess what my first partner still calls me?" Gibbs asks rhetorically before heading for his desk.
"It's not the same," Timothy says after a moment of finding courage.
Looking over "What?" Gibbs asks.
"Mike Franks, right? His name came up during the whole, well you know. The difference is Franks I bet calls you that out of respect, DiNozzo more often than not calls me that because of dislike. You know I still have a hard time trusting the guy who left me alone at a crime scene when we first met just so he could go score some date, and spread word that I was gay just to eliminate competition" Timothy replies "But that's all just being a part of probie, right?"
Gibbs merely remains glaring at the younger man.
"Sometimes feels like DiNozzo is using it with respect but those are far and in between. I'd like to know why you only step in when I'm upsetting Tony, but I think I already know" Timothy replies.
Rising to his feet McGee walks out for fresh air while leaving Gibbs standing there alone.
Inside a car
Sitting in the passenger seat Timothy keeps his gaze looking across the street while Tony checks some texts on his cell phone or playing a video game. Both just waiting for a suspect to emerge from the illegal operation of using cars to smuggle drugs confirming being a member of the said gang. Currently Gibbs and Ziva in a different vehicle are across in a parking lot watching the building's back.
"Well, probie how are you liking my little test I gave you? Willing to call it quits yet?" Tony asks smugly.
"Quits on what? The bet on doing all your senior agent work on top of my own?" Timothy asks rhetorically.
"Yeah, need me to ask again McHard of Hearing?" Tony inquiries grinning.
"No. I already got our paperwork done" Timothy says.
"But that's impossible, it takes me a full two days with no cases to get mine done. Your lying" Tony sputters.
"Really? Ask the boss" Timothy replies.
"Fine… " Tony says grabbing the radio "Did McNofun really get all my reports and his done?"
"Yes, he did" Gibbs replies gruffly "Maybe you should learn something there DiNozzo."
"Ah I'm hurt boss," Tony says.
"You know it's amazing what one can accomplish when not acting like a rat boy constantly needing validation, yes?" Ziva replies.
"It's frat boy and I do not," Tony says.
"Yeah, you kind of do, like a cross between a pretend Hawkeye from MASH, not the Marvel character and James Bond" Timothy says.
"Don't make bets you can't take losing, and working sounds good right now for all of you given our suspect is exiting the building" Gibbs barks.
"Right boss," all three of them say at once.
DiNozzo slams his foot down on the gas just as Gibbs does the same for the vehicles moving into action for taking down the perpetrator alongside everybody else. Including getting enough evidence to put away the main financier of the operation of a senator, and his son.
Hope you all enjoyed this.
I've dealt with people like Gibbs who instantly balk at anything tech-related acting like it's beneath them, and honestly gets on my nerves a bit. Gibbs's character got made so hating of tech it got beyond dumb. No different than Walt Longmire on the show refusing to get a cell phone except in his very last scene.
Never mind the dumb stuff of just shooting a computer or unplugging it does not shut down a virus.
Well not that I don't enjoy just blowing the computer to shreds polt, but what irritates me using Gibbs to mock McGee for his computer ways.
One thing I actually do like about Alden Parker is feels a bit more like somebody should be like. Not completely love technology which is fine, yet able to actually understand what it is besides more "hulk smash object" deal.
Having McGee call out Gibbs in the season 4 episode on his probie comment was quite fun.
The final one is me calling out something I've seen show up in Tony Stark, opps DiNozzo stan fics on how McGee is apparently this ungrateful, disrespectful person with thinking Tony DiNozzo shouldn't be SFA.
Either having Gibbs's full support or sometimes during Mexico months, Tony gives McGee all his SFA work including McGee still having to his own work but fails so admits how Tony is better. Decided to do a different version.
Until next time
