Izuku found himself unsurprised by the results of the Quirk assessment test.

Some doing well with their quirks like Uki and Jiji in addition to their very impressive physical scores from their years of training.

Other's did poorly from untested consequences or simple naivety about their quirk's limits, like Monoma since he didn't understand the specifics of the quirks he borrowed or when trying something they never had before.

But he was glad that this year's hero classes had a better baseline than the students of last year.

They still had a long way to go for sure but more of them had a decent baseline outside of his friend group.

Most of the recommended students did well, Honenuki doing the worst out of the four of them but even then, he was still in the top twenty of the students.

Shiozaki and Rin had done the best out of those that were outside the recommended students and his friend group, with Fukidashi as a close third if he had better aim with his sound effect shouts.

Izuku slapped his cheeks to bring himself out of his thoughts, he could analyze and help the students later, right now he was supposed to be waiting for the students to come give them an official tour of the dorms that they would be staying in for the year.

Knowing his friends he'd be expecting the students sooner rather than later.

So Izuku soothed himself, running his hands through his hair and then straightened out his clothes until his nerves were at least non-visible.

The text from Genji-San confirming he'd brought Mineta directly to Nezu's office and was helping to file his expulsion with a mark for sexual misconduct, gave Izuku some good news to hold onto as well.

Honestly, even with how Oswald-San spoke about his half-brother Izuku had hoped that he'd been exaggerating just a little.

But no, the miserable little pervert tried to sneak into the girl's locker room right after most of the class left under the excuse of needing the bathroom.

Something that wouldn't have been discovered if Izuku and Nezu hadn't updated the security systems over the last year with Maijima-San's help.

The video cameras could only be outside and pointed in the direction of the locker rooms doors but motion triggers inside were reluctantly approved given it took no visual or audio data.

And his conduct on the field, God.

Mineta acted like he and Aizawa-San were fucking blind, he never made to touch any of the girls but the damn intentions were there and Izuku was certain the only reason Mineta hadn't made an attempt was because of Jiji.

Jiji must have heard the creep whispering and made sure to isolate him from the rest of the girls given how his friend spent most of the test glaring at him.

Izuku would need to ask Aizawa-San to speak with Jiro in private about if she heard anything Mineta say since he was technically friends with Jiji and that could be seen as a bias.

The soft chatter of students alerted Izuku that his class was finally here, and Izuku made sure to hold himself properly.

Holding his hands behind his back and not squaring his shoulders, a soft smile painted on his face.

He'd already shown the class he would not be pushed around, and that he wouldn't tolerate harassment by expelling someone already so he could afford to show them he wasn't completely crass and was approachable if they had a problem.

His lips quirked upwards though when he saw that there was large group of moving boxes being used by the class as a floating train, kept together from what had to be tape from Sero of 1-B and kept floating by Uki.

Izuku was proud but the image alone was rather hilarious, especially with Uki riding on Jiji's shoulders to focus all of her energy on keeping everything afloat, while Jiji and Shishida guided the train.

Sadi-Chan herding any stray floating boxes that came loose back to the main pile or to a student's waiting arms.

When they all came to a stop on the yard in front Uki was all but grinning up at him, looking distinctly proud of herself Izuku allowed himself to chuckle.

"I see you're already getting creative with your problem solving," Izuku softly told them noticing how a few were got nervous once they saw he was waiting at the steps of the building.

Namely Kaminari, Hagakure and Tokage who seemed to be having the most fun with the 'box train of imagination~' as he heard them call it while making choo-choo noises.

"Such skills with training will be very useful in your future hero work, with more work I can see this as the groundwork for a way that you can move a massive group in need of medical aid." Izuku further added.

More than a few looking more excited at that comment as well as relieved or simply surprised by the idea, like Iida one of the few who hadn't been on the train.

"But we can talk about that later, right now I would like to focus on showing all of you where you'll be living until next year." Izuku said putting the topic aside for now.

"If you recall, in your acceptance papers detailing your move in, I as your home room teacher will be living with you as your adult guardian." Izuku reminded his class.

"I will be living on the ground floor in the teacher's quarters and will be available by phone if not in person if you need anything. Should you need anything, such as a shopping run, have to go to appointments, or plans outside of U.A. grounds you will need to inform me beforehand so we can properly log your coming and going." Izuku stated.

Upon seeing the disappointment and slight irritation in a few of them Izuku spoke up again.

"For some of you this will be a big adjustment and I do apologize for the awkwardness that may come with it, however given these dorms are a new program and our reasonability as your temporary guardians, U.A. has made certain ground rules for everyone's safety." Izuku explained.

"All of these rules you, and your parents agreed to months ago, if any of you need a refresher on those rules a copy has been left in your rooms, or you can speak with me about the finer details if you wish." Izuku told them, making sure the more forgetful knew where to find them if they needed them.

"Now, do all of you remember which rooms you'll be staying in or have your dorm papers with your room number?" Izuku inquired.

"Yes Deku-Sensei." The class replied together but not in unison.

"Perfect," Izuku said with a nod "Now, I'll show you the ground floor first as it has most of the common areas along with my quarters." Izuku added turning around and leading the class inside.

"Holy... " Denki muttered once they walked inside and saw the massive space in front of them.

"Dino nuggies." Tokage finished for him.

Not that Izuku could blame any of them, he'd made the plans and even he could agree it was a lot.

Most of the students gapping as they looked around the wide space, bar Yaoyorozu who looked a touch puzzled.

Hm, she would probably be used to larger spaces given the mansion of the Yaoyorozu estate and might be confused by the open concept of the ground floor.

"As I'm sure you can see, the ground floor is almost completely open to allow easy access and flow between the areas set up here." Izuku explained, pointing to the left of the doors with a hand.

"Over there is your private library, it is stocked with ten copies of each of the schoolbooks you'll use this year and has a group study area if you wish to use it, and on the other side is a more private seating area where you can gather or use for events, parties and holidays." Izuku informed them.

Iida and the more studious students looking over to the library with some curiosity while a few seemed happy to hear they'd be able to celebrate things at the dorms.

Then he pointed with his other hand to the right of the door.

"Over there as some of you can see is three seating areas for you to use as well, two with tvs for you to use and the third has a fireplace where you can quickly warm up when needed." Izuku further explained.

Denki and Mina both seemed to perk up even more upon hearing that, and Ojiro also seemed a touch excited when he heard about the free tvs.

"The large floor space leftover is not a mistake, and you can use it to do projects for classes or for hobbies and even group events if you like, though do be respectful and responsible with anything you do since this is a common area that you will be expected to clean up yourself." Izuku said motioning to the large open area in front of the steps to the basement, a large carpet marking the majority of it.

"Next I'll show the kitchen." Izuku told them making sure to have everyone's attention before walking back and over to the kitchen area.

The two walls marking the space had two large walkways instead of doors.

"There are three places to sit and eat, a private area nestled back there between the sinks and dishwashers, and the sitting booths." Izuku said pointing again to the left of the entrance they can in from.

"There is also the large mess table you can use here if you feel comfortable using it, directly across from us is the main space where the fridges and ovens where you'll be cooking." Izuku told them.

"Passed the dishwashers where those doors are, is the pantry where most of the dry food is kept along with a safe storage for any more dangerous ingredients that are part of your diets." Izuku explained and for the first time someone raised their hand.

Izuku wasn't surprised it was Iida though he seemed a touch more restrained since he hadn't just lobbed his question at Izuku, and was waiting for Izuku to call upon him.

"Yes Iida." Izuku called.

"Why would there need to be hazardous ingredients stored in our kitchen Deku-Sensei?" Iida asked, quite a bit more respectfully than Izuku assumed he would.

Izuku half expected him to be accusing them of negligence of them even allowing poisonous materials near their food.

"Quirks cause your bodies to have very different needs to work correctly, especially in active hero work, some of those things are more dangerous than others. Such as capsaicin or caffeine that must be placed separately. Including dead prey for those with carnivore traits from their quirk's." Izuku answered.

A few looked a little green when Izuku mentioned dead prey, Iida included.

"I... understand Deku-Sensei, and the trash cans with the orange tops?" Iida further queried.

Tokage paled when Iida unknowingly brought up the starfish bins and tried to hide herself behind everyone else and her shoulders hunched up as well.

"Those are not trashcans Iida, those are called starfish bins which are to be used by certain members of the class who will need them because of their quirk's needs. Can those of you that know starfish laws please raise your hands?" Izuku asked.

Uraraka, Shoji, Shishida, Bakugou, the Tokoyamis, Rin and Yanagi raised their hands, and Tokage hesitantly raised her hand after seeing half of the class raise their own.

Other's looked decidedly confused by the term.

"Okay, for those of you unaware of the starfish laws can speak with me privately about them if you wish to learn more, do not question any of your classmates if they do not want to talk to you about them." Izuku said making sure to be firm about not bugging their classmates.

Something that made Tokage look deeply relieved when the reply of 'yes sensei' the class replied with.

"Across from the kitchen on the other side of the hall over there is the teacher's quarters, where I'll be living." Izuku told them to move their attention from a topic that clearly troubled one of his students.

"Come into the hall please." Izuku asked leading the group over to the second entrance of the kitchen nearest to the primary stairs and elevator.

"That is the elevator and stairs for the upper floors where you'll find your rooms. Each floor will have the room numbers scrambled, meaning that room one could be placed next to room six and have eight on the other side of the hall." Izuku informed the students.

Rin was the one to raise his hand that time.

"Yes, is this about the room layout?" Izuku guessed, Rin nodding his head a touch sheepish for having his question predicted.

"I expected that question, the layout is non-traditional and made that way for a reason. No two floor will be alike in where the rooms are in case of a break in so that if there is a target they will not be found easily." Izuku explained.

Stunning most with his reply, and Izuku raised his hand.

"The likelihood of a break in is incredibly small, especially with the security the staff established. However in the world of quirks, including teleportation quirks, there is no guarantee a break in will not happen and we must acknowledge the possibility." Izuku said holding his hands behind his back.

"Again, an attack on U.A. is not likely given the high risk and low reward would completely dissuade most. Should it happen though, there will be many ways you can defend yourselves and call for help, including a safe room which I'll be showing you next on the tour down in the basement." Izuku informed them, doing his best to reassure them.

Most thankfully, did not look overly worried and Jiji and Uki merely nodded, understanding where he was coming from and how nothing was fully safe from their own experiences in the South Side.

"The stairs to the basement are over here." Izuku told them, walking over to the large staircase and descended down with all nineteen following him.

"The laundry machines are down here along with the cleaning closet, there is also a seating area down here if you don't want to leave your clothes down here unattended. There is a set of machines for those who need to use special chemicals to clean their clothes, they are marked for you to now which of the machines are which." Izuku said waving to the rows of machines and drying racks.

"This is the cleaning closest and do be careful when you enter since it has the water heaters and they should not be touched." Izuku stated before opening the door and moved into the room.

Turning the light on and moving to the shelves across from the door.

Then he grabbed one of the shelves and pulled it away from the wall revealing the security door behind it.

"This is the safe room door. You will need to enter a specific passkey to go inside and in the case of a true emergency we will bunker down there until an all clear is given. So, I will be taking inventory checks of this room twice a month and I would like all of you to stock this room with only necessities like food or toiletries that will last you for years if needed." Izuku elaborated then moved the shelf back.

Hagakure raised her hand "Yes Hagakure." Izuku asked.

"Would… would we ever really need the safe room?" she timidly asked.

"Ideally? Never in any of our lifetimes. Realistic? I cannot guarantee that natural disasters won't happen or predict whether a war will include our country, nor that a specific group could force us to go underground. Groups like the Meta liberation army and Humarise are well known across the globe for their attacks using quirks which can be deadly." Izuku answered glumly.

Most of the students tensed up when Izuku mentioned both the idea of war and the two terrorist groups he knew they'd be the most familiar with.

In schools both were talked about with a detached distance that let many forget such things were so recent in history or even still threats in the first place.

Izuku, though he couldn't say it, knew they couldn't afford such naivety.

"As heroes you will be forced to confront some of the worst things that our species can do to ourselves, some of you will see that horrid side of humanity daily if you plan to go into any of the underground branches of hero work." Izuku told them even though he knew that a few of them likely already understood that.

"And as a teacher it would be beyond remiss of me if I do not beat this fact into your heads. Heroics is not fun, it is no game, and not only the lives of hundreds of people rely on you in the field, but your own lives will hang in the balance." Izuku sternly warned them.

Then he looked Yaoyorozu in the eye.

"Yaoyorozu, do you know why if anyone else in this class had been ranked fortieth today, I would have expelled two people?" Izuku questioned, and the girl stood tense with the weight of the question left on her.

She clearly struggled with the question, Izuku understood why since when he announced that he'd be expelling Mineta at first, she looked utterly shocked and horrified.

Yaoyorozu probably thought it was a bluff, whether she'd admit that after being so thoroughly wrong and in a tense atmosphere like this though was the question.

"N-no Deku-Sensei." Yaoyorozu eventually said hanging her head.

"Thank you for being honest Yaoyorozu, I doubt many would actually know why I would have expelled two people but that is no failing on your end." Izuku softly told the girl before shame could truly hook itself in her.

Then he turned his attention back to the whole class.

"It's because as a teacher in the hero course it is not only my job to guide you into the field of professional heroics, but judge whether or not you have what it takes to actually be heroes." Izuku said, standing straighter and holding his hands behind his back.

Izuku made sure to continue before any protests were given.

"You may have passed a single test, but does that mean you'll take what you learn here seriously? Will you understand the weight of your actions in the future? Because I can teach you everything there is about heroics," Izuku informed them, lobbing questions at them.

"But all of the training and knowledge in the world won't stop you from going home in a body bag on the first day of the job if you won't take heroics seriously." Izuku coldly stated with a glare.

The image of the certainty affecting the others.

"Tell me, who here can name how many hero students die the year they graduate here in Japan?" Izuku asked.

Shock reflected back at him from multiple faces, as if such a thing was never heard of before he spoke it.

Five hands though went up.

"Tokage?" Izuku called.

"Roughly one hundred, maybe two hundred fifty depending on the year, Deku-Sensei." Tokage answered with a gulp.

"Correct. Can anyone tell me what that number used to be, say... Fifty years ago?" Izuku confirmed, looking back to the group.

When no new hands were raised by the seemly stupefied students, Izuku turned to one of his friends.

"Uraraka?"

"The average of hero students that died during the 2320's was in the thousands Deku-Sensei." Uki confidential answered to the horror of the others.

While it was taught the '20s weren't pleasant, it often slipped minds for it was the often overshadowed by All Might's rising in the coming decade.

Used more a framing narrative for their greatest hero and not remembered for the fact thousands of young men and women were sent to their deaths in the streets due to lackluster training.

There was a reason the commission was gutted and restaffed that decade.

"Yes, it was because the rules for what person could become a hero were not as strict due to the political and social break down of our country at the time, allowing unfit and poorly trained children to throw themselves to their deaths to boost numbers." Izuku said with a nod.

"And we at U.A. will not allow such a thing to ever happen again, hence why if I believe any one of you is not fit to be a hero for any reason, regardless of if it's your first day on campus or a day before your graduation three years from now, I will expel you." Izuku sharply told them.

"Because if I have any choice in this world, I will choose to send you home with a broken dream or a shattered ego over sending a body bag every time." Izuku further told them.

"If you are still serious about being heroes, if you understand being a professional hero means that there will be days no one wins, then I will help each of you reach for a day where the world doesn't need heroes." Izuku said finally finishing his little speech.

"Now... Who here wants to be heroes?" Izuku asked.

Bullet-Jacker: I traumatized the kids shortly after the sports festival

Kan: But why thou?

Izuku: Yeah, you can do it on the first day you know

Kan: NO
