Winds of Change
At Ninjago City during the night time, the Ninja Museum that held exhibits of the Ninja's greatest victories of their battles and adventures together was closed as a single security guard. He passed by the animatronic version of Garmadon in his Lord form.
"Hmm." He stopped before he brought out a wooden sword. "Hands up, Lord Garmadon! All four of them!" He called as he lifted the animatronic Garmadon's arms up. "Oh, that's right. Ninjago won't be seeing the likes of you anymore. Good riddance. Hyah!" He called as he tapped the animatronic as it fell to the ground not seeing an ominous shadow flying over him and landing on the second.
"I say we join forces, take that hunky night watchman out." The watchman intimated Chen while holding an animatronic version of Chen in front of Garmadon's. "Chen! No surprise you'd betrayed me." He said before he heard a sound, which made him gasp. "Who's there?" He asked as he took out his flashlight and looked around, sensing he wasn't alone. "The museum's closed! I know Spinjitzu!" He warned.
He moved his light around, facing the animatronic versions of Lloyd and Melissa facing the Overlord, then his flashlight went off. "Huh? That is odd." He said before he got his flashlight back on, but then he heard the sound as he turned and saw the Grundle which caused him to give a startled scream before he sighs in relief that it was just a display of the Grundle. "Phew. I'm legally required to share that I've unlocked my full potential!" He called out whoever was out there.
He then heard a faint laugh, which made the watchman turn and saw the animatronic version of Lloyd move towards it while it twitched and its right arm fell. "We are the Ultimate Spinjitzu Masters. We are the Ultimate Spinjitzu Masters." It repeated while breaking down, creeping the guard out.
"That's it, I'm calling it in." The watchman said as he brought out his phone. "Let's see who's laughing…" He started before a shadow figure appeared behind him as it laughed, causing him to gasp and turn before he screamed in terror that echoed out from the museum as a green flash was seen.
The next morning, out at Sea, Lloyd and Melissa were riding on their Elemental Dragons over the ocean with the boys not far behind on their dragons. Kai then flew ahead as he gave a laugh, which made Lloyd laugh next.
"Getting ahead of yourself, Kai?" Lloyd called out.
"Don't forget, Lloyd and I are leading this charge, Hothead!" Melissa added as she and her boyfriend flew ahead to Kai as the three circled around before the Ninjas of Yin and Yang splash some water on Kai, causing him to scream and cover his head in surprise.
Jay laughed in amusement. "That's one way to cool off a hot head." He joked.
"Hey, no one messes up my hair!" Kai retorted as he flew his dragon close to the water and caused a huge splash that hit the others, but hit Zane the most as he coughed and spit the water off.
Cole laughed, "You okay there Zane?"
"Affirmative," Zane answered with a smile. "It'll take more than a little water to take me out."
"Oh, what about a big fish?! Incoming!" Jay called out with concern as some sort of giant fish was swimming towards them before it leaped out of the water.
"Oh no," Zane said in fear as the fish nearly got him by the tail if he hadn't pulled up. The giant fish then started chasing them as Jay and Cole looked back.
"Whoa! People are supposed to catch fish, not the other way around!" Jay quipped.
"There he blows!" Cole called out as Zane looked back at the fish and scanned it.
"Based on its weight and size, this is the mutant fangfish, terrorizing the Coastal Village and depleting their food source," Pixal informed Zane.
"Pixal says this is the one!" Zane told the others.
"And now that he's taken the bait, let's reel him in and get him to the aquarium." Lloyd declared.
"Now, like we plan, guys!" Melissa called as they flew ahead as the Ninja flew after her as the fish followed.
"Let me guess, Kai. You caught one that big once?" Jay asked Kai in amusement.
"Heck no." Kai shook his head before he smirked. "He was twice the size." He added as the giant fish lunged at him, "Whoa!" He narrowly avoided a few chomps as the Fang Fish kept jumping at them.
"He's almost as hungry as you, Cole." Jay joked to the Earth Ninja.
"And twice as ugly as you, Jay!" Cole joked back as they laughed.
Melissa reached for her comm, "Nya, are you in position?" She asked.
"Oh yeah, time for the catch of the day!" Nya quipped as Melissa saw the fishing boat up ahead.
"Okay team, in line formation!" Melissa ordered as their dragons flew in a straight line with the Fang Fish catching up.
"It's right behind us!" Cole called as the Fang Fish jumped and gapped its mouth wide.
"Now!" Melissa and Lloyd called as the six dragons broke away and the fish belly flopped right onto the deck of the boat, knocking the captain and Nya off balance.
As she helped the captain up, Nya looked down at the Fang Fish, "Great Job, Ninja!" Nya called to her friends as the Ninja all cheered while circling over the boat.
"Now that's what I call hook, line, and stinker." Jay quipped with a laugh as their dragons roared.
Back on the Docks, the Fang Fish was delivered and loaded into a tank. Lloyd, Melissa, and the Smith Siblings watched as a father and his two kids took some fishing gear and headed out,
"Looks like we made this place safe to fish again," Kai told the two and his sister.
"That giant Fang Fish was eating all the fish and was terrorizing long enough." Melissa said with a smile.
"If your father was still here, Lloyd, he would tell you he's proud." Nya added to him as she placed a hand on Lloyd. "You've become a great leader alongside Melissa."
"Nya's right, Lloyd." Melissa agreed, giving her boyfriend a smile. "We both had grown up a lot, and Garmadon would definitely be proud of the man you became, you and I are a great team."
"No. We're a great team." Lloyd said to them with a smile before he frowned. "Can't say I don't miss him." He added as they turned to see Cole, Jay and Zane watching the Fang Fish being loaded.
"It's working!" Cole cheered before the Fang Fish was dropped down causing the water to spill out over the three as they yelped and shook themselves while their four friends watched them.
"With my dad gone, sometimes I question where I'm going." Lloyd continued uncertainty as he stepped forward. "Sometimes I worry about who I might become."
"I'd be lying if I didn't agree with you, Lloyd." Melissa said with a small nod. "Because without you in my life, I don't know where I would be, or who I would become. But as long as the two of us are together, nothing can take us down." She said with a smile.
"We know how you feel," Kai spoke on behalf of him and Nya, "After our parents disappeared, we almost lost our way,"
"But we were lucky to have each other to watch one another," Nya said with a smile.
"Heh, well you two are basically like siblings to the two of us." Melissa told them with a chuckle. "Even if you are stubborn pinheads, I'm looking at you, Nya."
"Yeah, I saw that coming." Nya said with a smirk as the two girls giggled while Kai ruffled Lloyd's head.
"Don't worry, big shot, we'll watch over you from now on." Kai promised with a playful smirk before Lloyd shoved him off.
"Hey, no one messes up my hair." Lloyd teased with a smirk, repeating Kai's words before Jay walked up to them.
"Hey, you four gonna get in the picture?" Jay asked with a smile as they rushed back to the others. "No one's gonna believe this. Get in the picture. This is awesome!"
"Back. Back just a little further," Zane said to the man holding the camera as he stepped back a bit. "Just a little further."
The man backed up, but he tripped over the edge of the docks once he snapped the picture as he yelped and fell into the water before he turned into his and gave a laugh. "You guys!" He called out through his laughter while the Ninja looked in surprise.
The Ninja all laughed in amusement at what just happened. "Oh, great! Who's gonna believe us now?" Jay asked with an amusing smile. The giant fish decided to have a little fun as it brought up its tail before splashing it down to get all seven of them wet.
Meanwhile, Wu was at a well as he scooped some water in a bucket. "Mmm, 'Steep Wisdom'." He muttered as he turned to his newly built tea shot. "Not a bad name for a tea shop." He said.
After Garmadon's sacrifice, Wu decided to retire from being Sensei, and with the help of Misako, Rachel, and Luci as they built a tea shop close to Garmadon's Monastery. The three women were inside the new tea shop as they were stacking shelves or setting up the table.
"No surprise that Wu's retirement plan is to open up a tea shop." Luci joked with a chuckle.
"We know that he's a man who loves tea." Rachel added. "But to be honest, I thought the Ninja saving Ninjago were difficult, but as it turns out, starting a small business can be a bit harder." She commented while putting something on the shelf while Misako worked the cash register.
"Wu can't be a Sensei forever." Misako reminded them with a smile, "It's about time we all help out with his retirement." She trailed off when she glanced to her left and saw the photo of her, Garmadon and their son together. She frowned sadly while looking at Garmadon specifically as she closed her eyes with a hand to her face, trying to keep herself together.
"We all miss him, Misako." Luci said as she put a hand on Misako's shoulder, seeing what was going through her mind. "Garmadon may be gone, but his memory and legacy will live on, well the good side I mean."
"But what matters is, he saved us all in the end." Rachel added with a smile. "Remember to honor his memories is to keep moving in life."
Misako smiled at her two friends' words. "You're right. He would want me and all of us to keep moving on. Thank you." She said as the three women hugged each other before they saw Wu coming in with a bucket. "Speaking of which… Luci?"
"I got it." Luci nodded as she walked up to Wu. "Here, Wu, let me give you a hand with that." She offered as she tried to grab the bucket, but Wu skillfully moved past her.
"I am old, not weak." Wu commented while placing a bucket on the counter.
"Duly noted." Luci said with a shrug.
"You look after the Ninja. I look after you." Misako said to Wu with a smile.
"Well, I'll say this." Rachel said with a smile while looking around. "Steep Wisdom is starting to look like a real tea house, but one key element is missing, customers." She stated.
"Yeah, we need to spread the word out." Luci agreed before going behind the counter and picking up a box. "Luckily I managed to make multiple flyers advertising the shop."
"Good things come to those who wait." Wu said wisely before they heard roars and they looked out and saw the Ninja and Nya landing.
"I'm just saying, it was big." Kai spoke up. "But I've seen bigger."
"As big as your ego?" Jay joked.
"Right." Zane said in agreement.
"More of an ego to your head, Jay." Melissa joked as Nya giggled.
The adults turned to Wu as he sighed, "Oh who am I kidding?" He asked, holding his head, "I'm tired of waiting. I'll put the Ninja to work." He decided, walking out with a box. "Ninja, you need to find customers." He instructed.
"No 'hello, how's it going, glad to hear you saved the day… again'?" Jay questioned as they all got off their Elemental Dragons as they walked up to Wu.
"Yeah, Sensei, we're all a bit tired," Cole said to him. "You mind if we handle this tomorrow?"
"In Sensei's words Cole, never put off till tomorrow what can be done today." Melissa quoted with a smirk.
"That is correct, Melissa." Wu said with a nod. "We all have a share if this business succeeds. How else do you expect me to be able to afford all your new uniforms?" He asked with a smile while holding up the box. "Which reminds me, your new ones have just arrived."
"What do they look like now?" Kai asked excitedly.
"New suits?" Zane asked.
"Sweet!" Jay cheered.
"I bet they're off the hook!" Cole added as Wu opened up the box and revealed a new suit.
"Huh?" They all asked as Wu showed them a shirt with the Steep Wisdom logo on it.
"Uh, those do not appear to be ninja uniforms." Zane spoke up as he inspected the shirt. "They resembled work attire."
"Very observant, Zane," Wu nodded as he pulled out some fliers, "We must focus on furthering brand awareness. And here are the flyers I want each of you to pass out in the city." He said as he gave each of them a stack of flyers.
"Ugh! If I have to pass all these out, I may be the one passed out." Jay complained.
The phone then rang and Misako gasped, "That could be our first order," She said hopefully before shushing the others and answering the phone, "Steep Wisdom, how may we serve you?"
Soon, the Ninja came in with their new suits on. "Aren't we going to look kind of stupid flying up on our elemental dragons with these things on?" Melissa questioned, adjusting her teapot hat.
"You won't be flying on anything." Wu said to them. "We're selling tea, not magic. Besides you all have been relying a little too heavily on your powers lately. Real power comes from the inside." He said, gesturing to his heart.
Lloyd then placed a hand on his uncle's shoulder. "It would be our honor, Sensei." He said with a smile.
"Thank you." Misako said with a smile. "I'll let him know right away." She said as she ended the call.
"Is it a big order?" Nya asked in excitement.
"It's the police." Misako said to them seriously. "They've asked for Lloyd. There's been a break-in at the museum."
This made the others gasp in shock. "Just Lloyd?" Melissa asked in confusion. "Why not both of us?"
"They asked Lloyd specifically, but they didn't say why." Misako explained with an uncertain shrug.
"Well, if they only ask for me, then it might be good to send only one of us. If there's something wrong, I'll let you guys know." Lloyd explained.
"I'll handle your flyers, Lloydl." Melissa told him.
"Thanks Melissa, I owe you one," Lloyd said with a smile.
"Mister Chen's and a movie." Melissa told him with a finger up.
"Done!" Lloyd said as he gave her a quick kiss and was about to head to the museum.
"Aren't you going to kiss your mother goodbye too?" Misako asked with a teasing smile as Lloyd stopped as the others looked at him in amusement while Lloyd placed a hand to his face.
"Mom, we've talked about this." Lloyd said in embarrassment. "I'll catch you on the way back." He said as the others all laughed in amusement as Lloyd rushed off.
"I'll catch up with you guys in a bit." Melissa said before turning her attention to Nya. "Cause I need to have a word with a certain Samurai girl."
Nya groaned, "Really? Now?" She asked.
"Yes, now." Melissa said as she grabbed Nya's arm and dragged her away from the others.
"Oooh, I bet Melissa is gonna give Nya one of those treatments." Kai teased as they all laughed in amusement.
"Remember, no powers." Wu reminded them of their jobs as the four Ninjas groaned.
Melissa took Nya behind the tea shop and looked her dead in the eye. "Alright Nya, it's been about a month since that last mission involving the Obsidian Armor, so I need you to tell me, did you tell Jay?" She asked in a firm tone.
"You mean before or after helping Wu set up a Tea Shop?" Nya asked while gesturing to Steep Wisdom.
"Anywhere, anytime." Melissa clarified before crossing her arms. "Now tell me, did you tell Jay about your stupidity? Because if not then I'm dragging you to him and forcing you to tell him right there, right now."
"Well, I have been thinking about it, I mean, after the whole Chen and his Anacondrai and Garmadon's sacrifice, and what happened with the Obsidian armor and memory wipe, I was planning on telling him." Nya said while rubbing her arm.
"And?" Melissa asked with a raised brow.
Nya then gave a sigh. "And then…. I told him everything." She said, which made Melissa look surprised a bit before she smiled.
"Well good on you Nya, was that so hard?" Melissa said with a proud smile. "And how did Jay take it?"
"Well, uh, he was a bit shocked, a bit hurt and well, he understands." Nya said with a sheepish smile.
"See, I told you that if you'd tell him yourself it wouldn't turn bad to worse." Melissa said with a smile. "And if I have to guess, you two are still gonna be on a break and wait till you both decide to get back together?"
"Well, something like that." Nya said while rubbing her arm while giving an uneasy look.
"Well if I know you and Jay, you'll work things out." Melissa said before giving Nya a side hug. "I'm proud of you Nya, it never hurts to take things the easy way and not the stubborn way." She before giving a stern look. "But don't do anything like that ever again, got it?"
Nya gave an uneasy chuckle. "Got it." She said with a nervous smile.
"Okay, now I need to go help the others with the flyers. Catch ya later, Nya." Melissa said as she then rushed off as Nya waved to her.
Once Melissa was out of sight, Nya let out a sigh of relief. "Phew, that was a close one." She said relief before looking down in guilt and sadness. "I'm sorry Melissa, but Jay can never know what I did."
In Ninjago CIty, Lloyd, who was in his Ninja suit, rushed up to the museum where he found two officers inside with police tape as they saw him at the entrance.
"Well, looky here, the Green Ninja. Feel safer already," The elder officer said with a smile.
Lloyd jumped over the police tape and walked over to them. "I got your call that there was a break-in?"
"The night watchman over there had quite the scare," The young officer said while pointing from the watchman sitting on a bench with a blank and drinking some tea. "Doesn't remember a thing."
"Hasn't been too helpful," The elder officer added as Lloyd took off his mask. "Maybe you'll have better luck."
"Thanks," Lloyd said as he walked up to the watchman.
"Did you make the call for him?" The younger officer asked the other with confusion.
"No, I didn't," The elder officer replied. "Did you?"
"Heck, no," His partner replied. "I wonder who did?"
Lloyd then walked up to the watchman as he was letting out heavy breathing with the blanket covering his body.
"So, you were on guard when it happened?" Lloyd asked him as he was still panting. "Can you show me what was stolen?" He got no response as Lloyd walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I'm here to help you." The watchman looked at him before a glare appeared on his face and he grabbed Lloyd by the hand. He then pulled Lloyd out of the main lobby and down a hallway.
"Hey, the bathroom's the other way!" The younger officer called as Lloyd and the watchman rushed down the hallway.
They soon came to a storage room where the watchman quickly closed the door behind them. "I was knocked out," He told Lloyd, but sounded different than he did last night. "When I came to, I found the only thing stolen was something that wasn't even on display." He gestured to a busted open crate with sand on the floor. "Just a worthless old armor brass plate they call the 'Allied Armor of Azure.'"
"Why would a thief leave these priceless relics and take just that?" Lloyd questioned as he inspected the crate.
"Oh, I don't know," The watchman replied as he walked over to pick something up. "Maybe it's because when you're in trouble, they say it's got the power to summon allies, whether they be friends, foes, even Spirits from the Curse Realm." As he explained, he picked up a sledgehammer and walked slowly towards Lloyd.
"The Cursed Realm?" Lloyd asked in surprise. "My father is there…" He soon turned around only to see the watchman about to him with the hammer as he gasped and quickly jumped away as the watchman slammed onto the sand while Lloyd got up and quickly dodged again before the watchman took off the blanket to reveal a blue armor shape like a blue fire with a white swirling symbol on it. "The Allied Armor. You stole it?"
"So, destiny chose you to be the beloved Green Ninja of Yang?" The watchman questioned with a look. "Those silly old man. Sensei Wu should have known better!"
"How do you know Sensei?" Lloyd asked in surprise. "And if you've got a bone to pick with me, maybe we can discuss things without weapons?" He suggested. The watchman ignored that as he gave a yell and swung the hammer, which caused some boxes stacked together to tilt. "Hey…"
The watchman looked up and gasped as he and Lloyd braced each other as the pile landed on the watchman as Lloyd quickly moved the boxes away to see the watchman on the floor.
"I don't want to hurt you," Lloyd said to him as the watchman grunted before he gave a yell and passed out as a shadowy figure came out of him and entered a picture of Chen. Lloyd was shocked as he saw the picture start moving and looked back down to the watchman.
"What's going on?" The watchman asked in his normal voice again. "Someone was in my head."
The painting gave out a sinister laugh before Lloyd quickly grabbed the painting and threw it at a golden Serpentine statue, breaking it in half. But then he saw the same shadow rising out from the painting and went into the statue as it began to move.
"Your powers are useless! You think you can hurt a ghost?!" The same voice came out of the statue as the tail moved and trapped Lloyd. "I can possess anything!"
Lloyd screamed as the tail squeezed him tight before he saw the shadow leave the statue and went over to the sand near the crate. The sand started to squirrel around before taking the form of a boy with glowing green eyes as he had a sinister smirk on his face.
"Wh-When he was in my head, I saw his thoughts, the world," The watchman spoke up as he was frightened of what he saw in the ghost's mind. "The world will be cursed!"
"You're a ghost from the Cursed Realm, but how did you escape?!" Lloyd questioned the ghost.
"When your father opened the door, he should have been more careful of what came out!" The ghost replied as he floated in the air before he started to swirl around Lloyd.
"Hurry!" Lloyd called out to the watchman. "The Allied Armor, give it to me! I need to call my friends!"
The watchman took off the armor and quickly rushed to Lloyd as he quickly grabbed it, but then the ghost gave a yell as he tossed Lloyd out of the sand swirl as the Green Ninja landed on his back before the watchman looked up.
"Behind you!" The watchman yelled.
Lloyd stood up and glared at the ghost. "You can't have the armor!" He called as the ghost resumed its form while wearing the armor.
"The armor's nice, but it's not the only thing I want to possess," The ghost said with a sinister smirk.
"What else do you want?!" Lloyd questioned.
"YOU!" The ghost quickly replied before he dived right at Lloyd.
Outside, the police were taping the hallway. "So, if you could choose to be any Ninja, who would you be?" The elder police officer asked his partner.
"Oh, that's easy. Kai," The younger officer answered. "He's the main one, right?"
"No, that's Lloyd and Melissa," The elder officer told him. "Kai 's the-" They both suddenly heard Lloyd screaming from down the hall before a rush of wind blew in as the two police officers gasped and felt a cold shiver run through them before they pushed down and the door to the hallway suddenly closed on his own. "Th-That Wind didn't come from outside. It came from inside!" That was enough to scare the two officers out of the museum as they ran out.
Somewhere a bit far from the museum, the five Ninja are in the Ninjago City intersection as they tried to pass some fliers down. "Uh, Steep Wisdom. Enlightenment in a cup." Kai said to a woman while handing her a flyer.
"Steep Wisdom? Never heard of it." The woman said while tossing the fliers away as Kai frowned.
"Best little tea shop in Ninjago." Cole said while holding up his flyers.
"First cup is free, with a flier." Zane said to anyone interested.
"A nice refresher to cool you off in the heat." Melissa said, holding up a flyer.
"Take…" Jay stammered while trying to give a flier to a girl. "Why won't you take the flier? Just take the flier!" He snapped as he sighed as the five Ninja regrouped.
"Oh! I see no one else is having any luck." Kai said hopelessly.
"Nope. Not even a single person wants a piece of ad." Melissa shook her head.
"Oh! It's as if they think I'm passing out a communicable disease." Jay complained with a look before he shrugged. "I mean sure, I have a cold sore, but it's hardly contagious." He said, which made the others flinch and back away from Jay when he said that. "What? What?" He questioned with a brow.
"Look, guys, we can do this, we just keep advertising the shop, someone will eventually want to come." Melissa said optimistically before noticing the boy's looks and groaned, "Oh who am I fooling? We've been at this all afternoon we're never gonna get people to come to the shop."
"Yeah, I don't want to be here any longer than necessary." Cole said in agreement. "Maybe if we use our powers, we can get this over with?" He suggested.
"But Sensei gave us strict instructions not to use our Elemental Powers." Zane reminded them.
"Well, Sensei's not here, and what he doesn't know won't hurt him." Kai said with a smirk. "I'm in, is everyone else?" He asked as he looked at the others.
Melissa looked a little hesitant about this before sighing defeat. "I know my words won't do much considering that I'm outvoted here, but let's do it." She said to them as they all cheered and spread out to do their jobs.
Cole rushed towards a road as a car came to him, skidding to a stop to the side.
"Hey, Young man! Watch it!" the man inside yelled before Cole went under and started lifting the car. "Oh! Oh, no. Oh, no. Put me down! Put me down I say!" Once Cole had lifted the car up, he began spinning it over his head.
"Feeling tired? Out of strength?" Cole questioned as the crowd gathered around him and started cheering. "Yeah! Then get a pick-me-up at Steep Wisdom."
A magician man was performing a fire trick involving a torch as Kai walked up to him. "Care to pass the torch?" Kai asked.
"Sure. Let's see what you've got there, Mr. Teapot," The magician said as he gave Kai the torch.
"If this isn't your cup of tea, how about this?" Kai quipped with a smirk as he blew on the torch, using his powers to control the flames as he made a teapot on the ground as the crowd looked in awed as they crowded around Kai. "Steep Wisdom. The hot new place."
"You call that a crowd?!" Jay questioned as he pulled out a couple of electrical wires. "Check this!" He then sent a surge through the wires and made each electronic billboard change to Steep Wisdom's logo, causing a larger crowd to gasp and chatter amongst themselves. Jay then tossed a bunch of fliers to the crowd before he crowd-surfed on them. "I know. It's shocking, right?"
"If we are going to use our powers, you may as well do it right," Zane told the others before he summon his Elemental Dragon and flew up as it gave a roar and he dived down as the Titanium Dragon fired an ice breath and created an Ice Teapot, which the crowd cheered as Zane tossed some fliers down to them.
Melissa rolled her eyes, "Boys, always using a hammer on a screw, when a screwdriver is much better," She said before she used her powers and blasted the sky creating a purple light show of Steppe Wisdom's teapot as the people were impressed.
Melissa was about to say something when all of the sudden she felt a cold chill going up her spine when a wind blew, which caused some fliers to be blown away, putting out Kai's fiery teapot as the Ninja looked around as the billboards went back to the way they was, much to the crowd's disappointment as Jay tried to use his powers to bring them back while holding the two cables, but nothing.
Kai blew on the torch, trying to make another teapot, but nothing, not even a flame. "Heh, amateur." The magician laughed.
"My powers! They're not working!" Kai called in panic, seeing that his powers weren't responding.
"Mine either!" Jay called while not feeling a spark.
"What do you mean your powers are…" Cole tried to say, but then he felt his strength leaving him as his eyes widened. "Uh oh." He muttered before the car he was carrying fell on him, causing him to groan in pain while the crowd laughed in amusement from that. "Ouch. Somebody give me a hand." He moaned as the others rushed up and helped Cole up.
"If our powers are gone, that means…" Kai said as their eyes widened.
"Oh no. Zane!" Melissa called as they looked up.
They saw Zane still in his Power Dragon, flying up before suddenly, his dragon vanished as Zane panicked as he fell out of the sky as he screamed in panic as his friends and everyone else watched him fall.
"He's kind of fast." Kai commented, seeing that Zane was falling faster than expected as Zane then fell down, but he fell through the ground while leaving a hole with his imprint. "Whoa! I think he just broke the sound barrier." He said in amazement.
"Zane, are you okay?" Melissa called in concern.
Zane weakly raised his arm and started climbing out with a sigh. "Titanium is very resistant." He moaned as he looked up at the others. "I told you we shouldn't use our powers." He said as Melissa helped him up.
"What powers?! Where did they go?! Melissa, what about you?!" Jay questioned while turning to the Purple Ninja.
Melissa then looked at her hands and concentrated before purple flames appeared out of her hands. "That's weird, my powers are still active." She said in confusion as the flames disappeared. "Why is it that my powers still work but yours don't?"
"We don't know! We gotta go see Wu!" Jay exclaimed, seeing that they need to see Wu in this situation.
Meanwhile, at Steep Wisdom, Misako poured some tea leaves into a bag before giving it to a woman and her daughter.
"I added a little something extra," Misako told Mother and daughter as she gave the bag to them before the Ninja rushed into the shop.
"Sensei!" Zane called out.
"We have a problem!" Melissa said.
"It's an emergency!" Jay added.
"We need you!" Cole called.
"It's important!" Kai added.
"Woah! Where's the fire?" Rachel asked as she and Luci came in from the back.
"Please, not so loud." Misako added. "Can't you see we have our first customers?" She added while gesturing to the mother and daughter.
"Wow, the real Ninja!" The little girl said in wonder walking up to Jay, "Can't you shock me?" she requested.
"Uh…. not now, kid. Maybe later. Okay?" Jay suggested, seeing that he doesn't want to disappoint her when his powers are gone as he walked up to the three women. "Where's Wu?" He whispered as Wu came in from the back with a bag as well.
"Senise!" Kai called out.
"Yes?" Wu asked.
"We were getting the word out…" Melissa started.
"And then there was this wind…" Cole continued.
"And our powers disappeared." Zane finished.
"You were using your powers?" Wu questioned with a disapproving look.
"Yeah, I know, we're terrible students." Jay said as he approached Wu. "But what happened to our powers?!"
"And how come my powers aren't affected?" Melissa asked before clouds formed and a strong wind came in as the windmill started spinning.
"If your powers are gone, then something must have happened to…" Wu started in dread before the wind increased and they turned to see Lloyd approaching the Monastery, wearing a dark green and black gi and hood.
"It's Lloyd!" The little girl called.
Wu held his hat as he looked at the wind. "I know that wind." He said grimly as Melissa and the others rushed off. "That's not Lloyd."
"Step aside," Lloyd told his girlfriend and the others, with his voice completely different.
"Lloyd?" Melissa asked, confused by how different her boyfriend's voice is.
"What's wrong with you?" Jay asked, as the others heard his voice as well.
"I want a word with your master." Lloyd said with a glare.
"Woah! Lloyd's gone through puberty." Jay noted.
"What's up with his voice?" Kai questioned.
"That's not his voice." Melissa said in concern.
"What's gotten into him?" Cole wondered.
"I sense some kind of foreign entity has taken over his body." Zane spoke up. "So the question isn't what, but who's gotten into him?"
"Whoever you are, whatever beef you have with Sensei, you have with us!" Kai shouted to 'Lloyd'. "Give us back our friend!"
"You heard him, get out of my boyfriend's body!" Melissa shouted with a look.
Lloyd' just cracked his neck and let out a haunting chuckle which made the boys nervous, "Uh, Melissa, how are we supposed to fight Lloyd?" Cole asked the Purple Ninja.
Melissa went stiff as she gave an uncertain look. "Uh, yeah, I haven't thought that far ahead." She muttered sheepishly.
"Let me show you!" 'Lloyd' shouted as his skin turned pale and his hair became black as he ran at the group and blew wind at them, causing the five Ninja to scream as they were pushed back and fell to the ground as 'Lloyd' laughed evilly as they stood up.
"Great, we don't have powers, but he and Melissa do?!" Jay questioned in shock as they charged at him again but he knocked them away effortlessly and looked to the shop.
"We may not have powers, but we still know a little thing called Spinjitzu!" Cole said as he stood back up, "NINJA-GO!" He then did Spinjitzu but then 'Lloyd' caught him in the wind and threw him against a wall, knocking him out of his Earth tornado.
"Wind?" Melissa muttered.
"So not only does he have powers, but he controls the wind too?!" Jay exclaimed in shock.
"Could he be the Elemental Master of Wind?" Melissa theorized.
"Take the truck!" Wu called to Misako as she, Rachel, and Luci rushed in and guided the mother and daughter to the truck. "Get them out of here now!" He called while 'Lloyd' laughed as he summoned the wind around him as Wu then rushed inside while the wind continued to swirl.
"Nya, we need to leave too!" Wu said to the other three as he was packing a bag.
"But this is our place!" Nya protested. "Tell me, Sensei, what's happened to Lloyd?" She asked.
"There's no time." Wu said to her.
"NINJA-GO!" Jay called as he did Spinjitzu but got whipped around by the wind just as Cole did and landed on the ground.
"Our Spinjitzu is worthless against the wind!" Kai stated as Zane rushed in with a shuriken ready.
"Shurikens? Cute." 'Lloyd' taunted with a smirk. "Try this on for size." He then used his wind powers on the windmill, causing it to spin faster and got it out of the foundation as he grunted and lifted it up, causing the Ninja to gasp as the windmill came down on them, causing them to scatter while Melissa avoided it with a flip as the boys were tossed away as she faced 'Lloyd'.
"So, facing me one on one Ninja of Yin?" 'Lloyd' asked with a smirk.
"How do you know that you're actually fighting her?" Melissa asked, taking a stance.
"Hahaha! You think I'm a fool?" 'Lloyd' taunted with a smirk. "I know that those four idiots aren't the Ninja of Yin, I'm literally inside the Green Ninja's head. I can see that it's you who is the Yin,"
"Whoever you are, you are gonna regret taking over Lloyd's body!" Melissa said with a growl.
"Ahh, so that is his name, 'Lloyd'." 'Lloyd' said with a taunting tone before letting out a laugh. "Well once I succeed in my mission then he will be a worthy opponent, our battle will be legendary!"
Melissa let out a yell before going in for an attack, but 'Lloyd' kept dodging and outmaneuvered her moves, the two were equally matched as Melissa manage to flip 'Lloyd' over, causing the Green Ninja to crash down and the two clashed again as they exchange heavy blows to one another.
"I don't know how you took over my boyfriend's body, but you forgot one thing, I've known him since we were kids so I know all of his weaknesses!" Melissa said before she then reached underneath Lloyd's underarms. "Tickle, tickle, tickle." She said with a smirk as she tickled 'Lloyd's' undermarm.
'Lloyd' then started laughing from the tickling before Melissa kicked him in the guts, causing him to skid back and hold his stomach as he groaned. "Not fair!" He groaned in anger.
"Life ain't fair!" Melissa said before grabbing 'Lloyd' by his throat and started powering up her powers. "Now, get out of my boyfriend's body before I get you out of him myself!"
"You are a very clever girly, I'll give you that, it's no wonder you are the Ninja of Yin." 'Lloyd' said before smirking evilly. "But how can you get a ghost out of someone's body?"
Melissa stiffed up when she heard that and her powers dampered. "Wait, did you just say, g-g-ghost?" She asked nervously.
"That's right, you are face to face with a ghost." 'Lloyd' said with a smirk seeing the fear in her eyes. "Boo!"
Melissa yelped and shrieked a bit as she stumbled back before 'Lloyd' used his powers and blew her away, which she crashed onto the floor in front of the women and the girl as she groaned.
"Get up. Please." The girl urged as Melissa groaned and slowly got up. "Ninja never quit." She encouraged as Melissa got up and held her arm as the women got into the truck and they drove off away from the tea form at high speed.
'Lloyd' then summoned more of the wind as he pulled Cole in and knocked him away, and then created a hurricane that caught all the Ninjas in it as they screamed and were scattered as they landed on the ground as the doors opened to reveal Nya was on the counter as 'Lloyd' walked in.
"Get out!" Nya called with a glare.
"Go stock some shelves before you get hurt." 'Lloyd' retorted with a look.
"I'll take you on anytime!" Nya stubbornly said while slamming a fist on the counter.
"No Nya, It's me that he wants." Wu said with a glare.
"Not you, just your father's staff." 'Lloyd' said with a look.
"I see you've found the Allied Armor, Morro." Wu said as he ready his staff while also recognizing the armor he has. "Yet you haven't summoned your friends.
"The cowardly Ninja of Yin and her weak little sidekicks haven't given me a reason to," Morro said tauntingly, gesturing to the Ninja lying in defeat outside.
"Hey, hey, hey! No one calls me a sidekick!" Jay called out with a look as Morro smirked and shut the door, which created a strong wind that knocked them back again while inside some of the stuff on the shelves fell.
"You want the staff? Try to take it." Wu challenged as he got into a stance on the desk as Morro yelled and jumped at Wu as the two wrestled for the staff as the three watched before Morro pushed Wu next to a shelf of teapots.
"You've gotten old." Morro retorted. "You used to be a great sensei. Now you're just a petty shopkeeper."
"With age, comes wisdom," Wu retorted with a firm look. He then did a flip that pushed Morro back as the two fell to the floor, but Wu's staff went flying as it landed on some dust, which Wu and Morro looked at as Wu gasped at what he saw. "A secret message engraved on the staff." He said in shock when he saw three symbols on the staff and on the dust.
"The staff of the First Spinjitzu Master." Morro said as he used his powers to pick up the staff and started swinging it around as wind started blowing around.
Nya then quickly got behind Morro as she knocked the shelf behind him down, causing him to get stuck as Morro grunted and lost grip of the staff.
"I do more than stock shelves." Nya said as Wu caught his staff.
"Yes. Now we leave." Wu said as he and Nya rushed out while Morro struggled to break free.
"To the barn!" Nya called out.
"I-I am not leaving Lloyd behind!" Melissa called out, while she's afraid of ghosts, she can't just leave her boyfriend.
"We will not win this fight today." Wu said to her as the Ninja rushed to the back of the tea shop while Melissa stood where she was as she fearfully turned to the tea shop where Morro was as said person struggling to get up.
"Give. Me. The Staff!" Morro yelled as he used his powers to get the shelf off him and seeing this made Melissa jump in fear while the wind blew back on her as the doors burst down.
Behind the tea shop, the Destiny's Bounty started taking flight as Melissa looked up at the ship as the four core Ninjas looked down at her.
"Oh! Is she crazy?!" Jay exclaimed as Melissa felt another burst of wind as Morro rushed in and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"Foolish, Ninja, why did you try to take me on all by yourself?!" Morro quested her with a glare.
"B-Because, N-Ninja don't leave f-friends behind!" Melissa stuttered in fear trying to sound brave, but failing.
The Ninja all saw this as Nya came on deck. "Where's Melissa?" Nya asked them.
"She's fighting the Green Ninja." Kai said to his sister as they looked down.
"Alone." They all said in unison as Nya looked down and saw the scene.
"Uhh, is it just me or does Melissa look…. Scared?" Nya asked, which they noticed.
"I know you're in there, Lloyd. Fight this g-ghost!" Melissa urged as she quickly held Morro by the throat as he struggled to break free. "Why does it have to be ghosts?!"
"Yes, I sense her blood levels are increasing." Zane nodded, having scanned Melissa. "And she is afraid while sweating a bit."
"Well, we have to do something!" Nya urged.
"The staff is getting away! Let go of me!" Morro yelled as he struggled to break free while seeing the Bounty get further away.
"Not until you let go of Lloyd!" Melissa countered while struggling to keep Morro back while her hands began to tremble in fear as she gave an anxious look.
Morro groaned before he softened up. "Melissa…" Lloyd's voice spoke through as Melissa stopped in shock.
"Lloyd?" Melissa asked.
"I know you're afraid but…. Help me!" Lloyd urged with a pleading tone.
"Lloyd, snap out of it!" Melissa urged while shaking Morro with a pleading look as Morro groaned as he struggled to keep Lloyd in control. Then the anchor from the Bounty came down and quickly scooped up Melissa and started bringing her up. "Wait! Let me go!" She yelled out to the others.
"A perfect wedgie!" Cole called with a smirk.
"Payback." Nya muttered with a smirk.
"I saw Lloyd!" Melissa called out as Morro stood up and looked at Melissa being pulled to the Bounty. "Put me down! Let me go!"
"You won't get away that easy!" Morro called as he focused his powers as Melissa was brought aboard the Bounty before they were being pushed back as they saw Morro using his powers to pull the Bounty back.
"We have to go back!" Melissa urged as she rushed to the bridge while going to Nya.
"I'm sorry, Melissa. But that's what I'm trying to avoid." Nya apologized as Morro pulled harder, causing the Bounty to tilt. "Oh, no!" She called as she and Melissa were being pulled to the otherside as Morro gave a mighty yell.
"Give me your hand!" Melissa called as Morro pushed harder before she tossed Nya up to the wheel as she managed to pull a switch.
"I've got it!" Nya called as she activated the Bounty's main engine and blasted off at high speed.
"NOOOOOOOOO!" Morro yelled out as he looked at the Bounty and the staff getting farther away from him.
On the bounty, Nya saw on the monitor, Morro's signal was getting further away as she sighed in relief. "Whew! That was close. The coast is clear." She informed the others.
The Ninja, while Melissa stood silent while giving a frown, were gathered as they turned to Wu. "Spill it, Sensei. What just happened back there, and what have they done to our friend?" Jay demanded.
"Yeah, Sensei, who was that?" Cole questioned.
Wu gave a sigh, as he saw there was no hiding it any longer. "You four were not my first pupils." He confessed, looking at the four core Ninja. "There was one before you."
"Huh?" Kai asked.
"What?" Cole asked as they looked at him in shock.
"Morro, the Elemental Master of Wind." Wu revealed.
"And he's a… a… g-ghost." Melissa said fearfully.
"Melissa, are you okay?" Kai asked in concern.
"No, I'm not, because I'm…. I'm…. I'm scared of ghosts!" Melissa exclaimed in fear.
"What?!" The four Ninja exclaimed in shock before Nya got concerned about something.
"Okay, now those lights scare me." Nya said in worry as she pointed to the monitor as they crowded around her. "We got something on our six. Looks like your Master of Wind just caught his second wind." She said as she pointed to Morro's signal that was heading close to the Bounty.
Outside, Morro was riding on a ghost version of Lloyd's dragon as it gave a roar and fired a green fire as he flew towards the Bounty, determined to get the staff from them.
A/N: And that is the first chapter of the Possession season, and it looks like Lloyd got possessed by a new enemy named Morro and he is Master Wu's first student, and not only that but it looks like Melissa is gonna have a little problem when facing him.
