No, your eyes are not decieving you. i am indeed FINALLY posting another oneshot after the...over a year since the last one.
It's been...way, way, way longer than I intended since I've posted anything other than EWW's. But now, finally, I'm back, much later than intended, with a new brand new (pretty late) Christmas oneshot!
And why exactly has it taken me so long to finish this? Well, there were a few reasons.
1. Lack of focus due to me not having access to ADHD meds, due to an ongoing national shortage. Just my luck...
2. Lack of motivation due to some... unsavory comments I received on the last fic I posted. Normally I don't really care about stuff like that, but those comments just...got to me for some reason and really put me off writing for a while.
3. Lack of will, as the longer I went without working on the fic the less inclined I became to return to doing so.
4. Multiple rough patches where I was in a bad headspace and thus even less enthralled at the idea of working on anything.
All these factors caused things to get pretty bad, to the point where I've pretty much not worked on this fic, or any for that matter, properly since the end of 2023. I'd open up the page, write one or two sentences at most before losing motivation again and doing something else.
Thankfully I'm doing a little better now, and am ready to hopefullyand slowly get back into the swing of things.
Hopefully.
Anyway, enough excuses, onto the thing you're here for. This story.
It was originally going to be a much simpler Sibling Oneshot but, like with most of my stuff, the idea grew, more characters were added, and the sibling focus lessened to the extent where I couldn't really call it just a Sibling Oneshot anymore. Nevertheless, I'm still really happy with it...
There are a whole bunch of moments in this that I absolutely adore, especially with young Gumball and baby Anais being the loveable innocent goofs they are, and even a little musical montage scene which is so fun to read and imagine. I was very close to picking All I Want For Christmas as the music for it, but I couldn't bring myself to reuse an already incredibly overused song or put you lot through it again, so I went with another Christmas classic instead that I think most of you will probably know and love.
Also, I have to give credit to ImaginationStudios8 for helping out with beta reading, cleanup and overall just giving me the motivation and encouragement to finally finish this. I'm not sure I ever would have finished this otherwise.
So, grab a mug of hot chocolate, sit by a warm fireplace and snuggle up with a nice, cozy TAWOG extremely late Christmas oneshot!
