Hello everyone!
I would've posted before, but I wasn't too sure if anyone was reading, but I think people are!
So, let's get things moving forward with the relationship between Tsu and Satoru...I've been re-watching some edits and it's getting me in the mood write.
"Hey, you're later than usual." Suguru said after I walked into the classroom. Suguru, Shoko, and Satoru were all sitting in their seats already. I made it before Sensei Yaga came to the class for our history lesson. The seat next to Satoru was the only one that was left, when I looked to Shoko, I saw the look on her face and knew that she orchestrated this move.
"Yea, I got up late. I was struggling to sleep." I said after I sat down in my chair.
"Why? Were you too busy dreaming of me?" Satoru joked from his seat next to me.
"I think that would be more of a nightmare." My voice came out icy and I wasn't expecting it, so I know that no one else was.
"Woah, trouble in paradise?" Suguru teased.
"I don't know. Satoru? Is there trouble in your paradise?" I turned to look him dead in the eye. He held my gaze as he said,
"No, just misunderstanding in mine." He answered.
"Okay, you four-" With that, Sensei Yaga came into the classroom and we looked away from each other. The entire lesson had an awkward air around the four of us and it seemed like our teacher didn't even notice. In reality, he probably did notice, but didn't want to deal with issues that teenagers brought to his classroom.
After class, Shoko and I made our way out of the room, but I was stopped when Satoru reached us and stood in front of me.
"Can I speak to you?" He asked.
"About what?"
"You know what about." He said.
"I'm going to leave." Shoko tried to walk away, but she stopped when I said,
"You don't have to go anywhere."
"I think that'd be really nice of you, thanks Shoko." Satoru tried to encourage her to leave, but she stopped again when I said,
"Listen, if you want to go on a date with Mei Mei, I'm totally fine with that. Honestly, knock yourself out."
"A date with Mei Mei?" Shoko look at Satoru with a surprised look because neither of us thought that was ever going to happen.
"It wasn't a date. It was a meeting." He clarified to me.
"A meeting?" I asked.
"Yea, it was about missions and-"
"Look, either way, you don't need to explain anything to me. It's not like we're dating." I quickly said, but I felt that green monster that had been in my head all night begin to calm down.
"I know I don't need to explain anything to you, but I wanted to make sure you knew. It's important to me." We stood there staring at each other in silence until Shoko said,
"I think I'm going to go." My brown-haired friend quickly retreated from the situation, leaving Satoru and I standing alone in the hallway of this very large school. I always wondered why it was such a big school when the classes were miniscule.
"Why is it important to you?" I asked him. He knew I meant his explanation. We both were aware that he didn't need to clarify anything with me.
"Because I knew what you were probably thinking last night and that's the last thing I wanted."
"You could've sent me a text or something." I crossed my arms over my chest and glared at him. Then, he did that thing that I despised because it made my heart race every time he did it. Satoru looked at me over the rim of his glasses.
"You don't want to stop being mad at me, huh?" His trademark smirk played on his lips.
"Not really." I mumbled. With a groan, I threw my head back, with the heels of my palms against my eyes. After bringing my hands down my face scrunched up. "I hate feeling like this."
"Like what?" He asked. I looked at him and I knew what he was asking me to say and I didn't want to.
"You know what! My life is already complicated enough with my mother and the last thing I need is this to complicate my school life. Everything is finally calming do-"
Ring Ring
With a groan, I fished my phone out of my pocket and answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Tsu? This is the Principal Tanaka of Yura's school."
"Oh, hello. How can I help you?"
"I'm calling to talk about Yura. Would you be able to come to the school today?" She asked me. My eyebrows knitted together at her question.
"Sure, can I ask why?"
"She's been in a fight today." She answered.
"Alright, I'll make my way there now." I told her and hung up the phone. Satoru had his hands in his pockets and waited for me to speak.
"Yu's been in a fight at school, so I have to head there now."
"I've already texted Kenzo and he'll be here in 5 minutes."
"Thank you, I'll see you later." I said to him.
"Later? I'm coming with you." He looked at me like it was obvious that he would be coming with me.
"Why?" I asked him.
"Who supports you, Tsu?"
"I don't think I'll win this argument." He smiled at me,
"Nope."
By the time we got to Yu's school, it was pick-up time. All the students, teachers, parents, and older siblings were at the school. We quickly walked through the crowd, but I noticed how so many of the women all stopped to look at Satoru as we made our way past them. I couldn't really blame them because he stuck out like a sore thumb anyways with his height and hair, but even with his sunglasses on – he was very handsome to look at. When we got to the door, he opened it for me and ushered me through with his hand on my lower back. Satoru kept it there as we made our way through the school to the principal's office, and I enjoyed having him doing that.
When we got to the office, I saw Yu sitting in a seat in front of the door of the principal's office.
"Yu?" She looked up from her seat and came over to me to hug me. I hugged her back and patted the top of her head.
"I'm happy you're here! I only did it because she was making fun of mom." I held her by her shoulders and squatted in front of her, so I could look at her properly.
"So, you did get into a fight?" I asked her.
"Yes, but it was because this girl has been bullying me for a little while now because of mom. She keeps telling me that our mother is a 'dead-beat' and that our dad left to have another family because we're so terrible. Then she always tells people that mom is only sick because she takes drugs, but I know she doesn't!" Yu quickly rushed out her words, so I could get all the information before I spoke to the principal. Then she looked up at Satoru and was even more confused. "Why is your boyfriend here?"
"He's not my boyfriend." I told her.
"If he's picking you up from our house, then he's pretty much your boyfriend, Tsu." She said to me like this was common knowledge.
"She makes good sense." Satoru laughed next to me.
"Don't encourage her delusions." I shot up at him from my spot on the floor.
"They don't have to be delusions." He smirked at me.
"Is this really the most appropriate place to have this conversation?" I asked.
"Tsu?" I looked up and saw a lady in short heels, a pencil skirt, and a white button up shirt tucked in looking at me. Her black hair was pulled back into a bun, and I realized that this was probably Yu's principal. I stood up straight and straightened out my own school uniform.
"Yes, Principal Tanaka?"
"Would you like to come in?" I nodded my head and looked at Yu,
"You stay here, I'll be right back." She nodded her head and took her seat by the door. Satoru followed me into the room and we both sat in the chairs in front of the principal's desk.
"I'm sorry, but who are you?" She asked Satoru and a part of me was wondering why he was sitting in here as well.
"Satoru Gojo." He reached his hand out for her to shake, and she did.
"This is a matter for members of the family-"
"I'd like him to stay." I interjected. She looked at me for a second before agreeing to him staying.
"Now, on to the matter of Yura. She was in a fight today at school with another student. We don't tolerate violence in this school. I know that there is a lot going on at home, but there is no excuse and the school's policy means that she would need to be expelled immediately." Principal Tanaka stated.
"Do you know the policy for bullying?" I asked.
"Pardon me?"
"Are you aware of the school's policy on bullying?" I asked again.
"Yes, we have a zero-tolerance policy, and the student would be expelled." She answered my question.
"So, can I assume that the other student is also being expelled?" I asked.
"No because Yura is the one who started the fight." She answered.
"Did she start the fight or was she forced because she felt like she wasn't getting support from the school to protect her in her time of need?" I asked. The principal looked at me with an intense gaze and I knew that she was also wondering what I was getting at. "Yura has been bullied by one student who is also spreading lies about our parents. You are aware of the complicated family life in our home, but this should also mean you are aware that the chances of her being picked on by other students is higher due to this."
"Yes, but-"
"Which is why, it's not about the fact that Yura got into a fight today, but you should be asking why she got into a fight instead. Where has this school failed her to the point that she needed to take matters into her own hands? I'm sure the teachers have noticed that this student has been bullying her because they are aware of the gossip that is spread around." She stayed silent as her eyes narrowed. "So, I'm sure we can come to an agreement that doesn't mean Yura will be expelled from school."
"Alright Yu, we can go home now." I said after I walked out of the principal's office. I turned around shook the principal's hand before we left. "Thank you for being so understanding."
"I can see where she gets her personality from. I can tell you will be very successful." Principal Tanaka said to me before we left.
"What's happening?" She asked me as we walked through the school. There were only a few children left and some teachers mingling in the hallways. They all looked at us as we walked through, but none of us took any notice of them. Satoru opened the door for both Yu and I to walk through and he placed he hand on my lower back again. As we walked out the school he leaned down to whisper in my ear,
"Now that was hot." I smirked to myself as we walked towards the parking lot. Kenzo was standing by the door and opened it for us. After the three of us got into the car, Kenzo began to drive us to my house.
"This is a nice car! And you have a driver? Are you like super rich? Wow Tsu, you found yourself a good one here! Do you think you'll get married?" Yu started shooting questions at both of us before we even left the parking lot.
"Yu, calm down. I just had to save you from being expelled from school." I scolded her.
"Kenzo, can you pass me my emergency stash please?" Satoru asked the black-haired man driving us. He passed him a plastic bag full of sweet treats.
"Sweets?" I looked at him with a confused look.
"What? I like them. Do you want some?" He offered the bag to Yu and she immediately took a few. I shook my head and pushed the bag out of her hands.
"Anyways, Yu, don't go getting yourself into any more fights. The principal is going to speak to the girl who has been bullying you and she's also going to check in with the teachers because she should've stopped her as soon as they heard whatever lies she's spreading."
"Yes, Tsu. Sorry." She apologized as she put another sweet in her mouth. I sighed as I leaned my head back on the headrest behind me, I was beginning to get used to this car.
"The most important question is: did you win?" Satoru asked her.
"Obviously, do you know who my sister is?" She shot back. I smiled as I gave her my fist to fist bump.
"That's my girl."
"Oh, what a nice boy!" My grandmother praised Satoru for taking our dishes to the sink.
"Don't encourage him." I muttered.
"Hey, don't be so rude! You're lucky he is putting up with your negative attitude." She reached over and hit the top of my head with her wooden spoon that she always has hiding somewhere nearby.
"You don't know what he's really like." I defended myself as I rubbed the top of my head.
"The Gojo clan is one of the three strongest clans in the Jujutsu community, so of course he would be so well-mannered." My grandmother was fawning over the boy I saw every day in school. "Don't roll your eyes!" She scolded me and hit me again with her wooden spoon. This made Satoru and Yu both laugh at the table. Those were two laughs I enjoyed hearing, so I didn't mind getting hit.
"I'll wash up. Yu, why don't you take Satoru out into the yard and show him around?" I suggested to Yu, and she happily agreed. Satoru didn't stand a chance against Yu, so I happily began to wash up the dishes.
"Tsu?" I looked over my shoulder as I stood at the sink and saw my mother standing by the door frame.
"Yes?" I turned away from her and continued scrubbing away – with my hands in the warm soapy water.
"Why did you bring Yu home from school? Did something happen?" She asked me.
"It's nothing. I had to get her from school." I told her.
"Why?"
"It's nothing – I told you. Why don't you go rest?" I suggested to her.
"You should tell me if something's happened. I'm her mother." She said to me. My hands stopped in the sink and the words came flying out my mouth before I could think,
"Then act like it." I knew I shouldn't have said it when I heard my own words, but so much of the frustration I felt on a daily basis always made these interactions difficult. I stopped washing the dishes and grabbed hold of the sink in front of me. "You know mom, she would love it if you went to her school. Hell, I would love it if you were just interested in what I've been doing, but you're not. I know you're having a hard time, but so am I. So is grandma and so is Yu. I run around after all of you, but who looks after me?"
"I'll get better."
"You've been saying that for years now, mom. You're not getting better because you're not helping yourself. You won't go to therapy, you won't leave the house, you won't listen to the doctor." I turned around and looked at my mother dead in the eye. Her black hair was tied back in a bun, she looked like she had lost more weight, the bags under her eyes were now permanent. "You don't even look like the mom I had when I was small. Please, if you really love us, then please start helping yourself." I begged her. The tears began to well up in my eyes as I looked at her. She looked how I felt – defeated.
"Thank you for going to the school." She said before turning around and walking away. My body wouldn't move, it just wanted to collapse. The words I said hurt my mom and I knew that, but I was hurting too. I had been hurting for years and nothing I did could get through to her. She didn't notice that we were watching her die a slow death and that was difficult to bare. No one noticed that I sent most of my money from missions here, in a bank account that my grandmother could access to help keep us afloat. I went out every day and tried my best to salvage the name my father tainted even though I always felt like I was the slowest person in class. I just wanted her to understand the pain I was being put through.
"Hey, Tsu! Come look at – Tsu? What's wrong?" I looked up from the floor and saw Satoru standing at the doorframe. He slowly walked towards me and when he reached me, I walked forward, put my arms around him and buried my face into his chest – finally allowing the tears to fall. He wrapped his arms delicately around me and gave me a squeeze.
"I'm here. It's okay. I'm here." He whispered to me. Then, I felt his lips on the top of my head, placing a kiss there. This act of affection melted my heart, and I hugged him just a little tighter.
...he kissed her head...they're getting closer! Ugh the burn is getting to me, I can feel it in my bones.
Let me know what you're thinking!
