what if Emily and Aaron got together after those seven months in hiding from Ian Doyle? The team finds out that Emily was alive and that JJ and Aaron were the only ones that knew about it. Derek was pissed that Hotch kept it from him and that Emily never got in contact with anyone that she was alive, trust starts to break after finding out that Emily was alive this entire time.

What if Emily never joined the F.B.I. and started working at Interpol again as the new Unit Chief in D.C. as she starts a new life again?

Emily does her orginal running jogs as her therapist says it'll be good for her mind to relax and she can take time away from work to clear her head. She runs into a old family worker that used to work for her mother and finding out Aaron Hotchner was the B.A.U. new Unit Chief. Aaron finds out that Emily was suppose to join the B.A.U. under Strauss approval only to figure out that she declined the offer of working with Aaron's team.

Emily and Aaron keeping running into each other in the park mostly every day until he introduces himself to Emily one day to figure out that she was the one assigned to the Ian Doyle case and faked the death of his son; Declan Doyle in order to protect him from his father. She thanked Aaron for protecting Declan and how she couldn't go out of hiding until Doyle was officially gone after he killed her team that was apart of the undercover investigation against Ian Doyle.

Dave knows about Aaron seeing someone every day at the park because of the way he comes into the office smiling and tells him a random name, not wanting to give the actual person that makes him smile away. Aaron invited Emily to his triathlon for the F.B.I. after he asked her out on Valentine's Day, but cancels on him because she wasn't ready to meet his team just yet.

Emily joins Aaron and his team on the biggest case that involves JJ boyfriend and the father of her child after he gets shot by one of the robbers and Emily introduces herself as Aaron's acquaintance and close friend when he worked for her mother. After nearly getting blown up twice, they celebrate JJ and Will's engagement announcement and how they give JJ a wedding at Rossi's mansion. Aaron brings along Emily as his date to JJ and Will's wedding and it confuses the team because they thought he was seeing Beth, and tells the team about his relationship with Emily.

Aaron tries to convince Emily to join the B.A.U. and instead of working in Interpol again, Emily agreed to work alongside with him only to have a work relationship and be professional without letting Strauss know about them. The team welcomed her and agreed to keep their relationship from Strauss until they can figure how to tell her without putting them in different departments due to their relationship. After a year of dating Aaron asked Emily to move in with him as a official couple after Emily and Jack got use of each other and loved having Emily around more.
