Sonic was feeling mystified in the cafetaria feeling a weird thing on the tip of his nose but happily eating the chilli-dogs Maddie had packed for lunch which was easing his mood after what Knuckles and Tails had did but knew Shadow had nothing to do with it and Tails pulliijg the fire-alarm had made things worse with his classmates more impressed by him, when he was trying to fit in drinkijg chocolate-milk as he couldn't have soda or coffee noticing some of his peers drinking soda or coffee shrugging his shoulders more curious about the thing on his nose unaware of how big a deal this was deciding to ask Maddie when they got home because she was picking him up after school hoping she wasn't mad at his friends as they'd made a mistake which Maddie had probably explained to the principal.
"It's a zit, and your first one which is a big deal, especially for your folks." a girl nearby observed surprising him, more mystifing him even more going back to class focusing and taking notes to do homework later impressing the teacher even though he'd never been to school before plus Sonic had put a band-aid on the area with the zit to conceal it until he got home as the other kids in his grade respected him even though he wasn't that good with social stuff hearing the final bell signalling the end of the day joining the kids who stampeded outside scanning the area grinning seeing Maddie's car running over getting into the backseat buckling in his seatbelt before they left pulling out of the parking-lot.
"The first day went good after what happened earlier, there's something I might have to show you when we get home." Sonic replied pointing to the top of his nose that had the band-aid which made her curious as they pulled out of the parking lot listening to music on the car radio.
When he got home, Sonic was doing homework forgetting about the zit for now until he was done and Shadow came in as Knuckles was helping Maddie in the kitchen and Tails doing inventing stuff in his room pointing to the band-aid looking worried making Sonic sigh, he could trust Shadow.
"I'll show you, just don't make a big deal out of it, like Tom and Maddie might, when they see as they'll make a big deal out of it like a kid said at lunch." Sonic told him pulling off the band-aid seeing Shadow in awe, wanting to touch it hearing Tom calling him, Shadow and Tails downstairs for dinner making him and Maddie excited seeing the zit confusing him asking why, guessing that girl at lunch had been right, Tom and Maddie were making a big deal of it.
"The first pimple is a sign you're growing up, well the first sign of puberty which we have to talk about later." Maddie said to him making Sonic more confused.
Knuckles, Shadow and Tails were exchanging a look while eating but after dinner, Sonic was taking an nap because school kind of made him sleepy which surprised them even Shadow while they were having a movie night, one of his favourite things and making snacks saving some in case Sonic woke up and was hungry relieving Tails but thought Sonic was sick which made Tom and Maddie exchange a look as they'd explain when they found the right way to explain it so would look it up later, because they had to get it just right seeing Tom agreeing knowing their eldest son was curious about what was happening to him guessing Lomgclaw would've told him if she was around.
"We should tell him in a gentle way, you know." Maddie said seeing him agreeing.
Around midnight, Sonic woje up hungry as he'd been sleeping going downstairs without waking the entire house up entering the kitchen finding the leftover snacks from movie-night feeling bad he hadn't joined them sitting at the table after makijg himself hot cocoa to calm himself as the zit thing and what Maddie had told him earlier humming softly to himself unaware Tom was hearing him thinkijg it was an intruder relieved it was just Sonic making him relieved guessijg he'd woken up and was hungry guessing what was happening to him also was bothering him making Tom surprised thinkijg it was an intruder, relieved it was only Sonic.
"Yeah, I was hungry, after just waking up." Sonic said to him.
He also saw Shadow up, making himself warm milk to help himself get sleepy seeing Maddie's tablet was charged thinking they could look it up, hearing Tom saying that he should just wait for Maddie to tell him in the morning relieving Sonic goijg back upstairs to his room, getting ijto bed since he had school in the morning hoping it would go better than today.
