Shadow saw that his Sonic was sluggishly walking ijto the kitchen the next morning unaware his boy couldn't sleep which he got guessing Tom and Maddie didn't realise he was not a good sleeper making him decaff coffee for him hearing him yawning worrying Tails as Sonic was normally full of energy seeing Shadow sigh but were heading to the living-room so they could watch TV to keep Sonic awake just as Tom and Maddie were up noticing little dark rings under his Sonic's eyes asking him if he was alright or wanted to rest seeing the blue-furred male resting his head on Shadow's shoulder making him happy wanting to squee only it might wake Sonic who was exhausted so let him be.

"Is Sonic alright, as he looks tired and guess he finds it hard to sleep, but he looks happy resting his head on Shadow's shoulder." Maddie said to Tom while in the kitchen, seeing Knuckles and Tails joining them in the kitchen wondering what was goijg on with Sonic and Shadow this morning.

"I think somebody we fare about has sleeping problems which he kept from us." Maddie said to them which Knuckles realised she was talking about Sonic makijg Tails frown at that because Sonic was his best friend seeing Shadow coming back downstairs with Sonic's Lomgclaw stuffie knowing cuddling that besides him, seeing Sonic relaxing.

"Lomgclaw was his mom before he found us, it's a touchy subject, did you tell him about joining the police-force, Shadow." Tom told Shadow making him feel bad for his boy as he sometimes asked him about this so now knowing, he could be more sensitive.

"I was getting around to it, besides he'd be surprised seeing me in my uniform plus I wanna bring my blaster with me, when we go on patrol." Shadow replied making Tom get it thinking Shadow's idea very sweet seeing Shadow drinkijg his morning-coffee knowing coffee messed Sonic up, then goijg ijto the living-room in his Green Hills Police Force uniform impressing Sonic, seeing Shadow's mini-blaster in his holster hoping Tom might keep him calm, on this knowing how good Shadow was with it.

"I needed a job with my talents and the police force fit so I signed up, did the training now I'm a cop and my first day on the job." he revealed seeing Sonic grin yawning making Shadow smile, it was very cute.

"Just rest up, okay bub and I'll be back." he said kissing his head seeing him out like a light wrapping the blanket around him on the couch hearing Tom calling joinijg him outside hopping ijto the squad-car.

"Just look out for Sonic intil I get back." Shadow told Maddie as he and Tom left for the day knowing Sonic would worry about Shadow so would distract him when he fully woke up making Shadow grin.

"I will, I know how much you care about him." she replied winking as they left for the day seeing Knuckles outside training making Shadow sigh getting into the squad car with Tom excitable about his first day.

"So, how was your first day, Officer Shadow." Sonic asked Shadow.

"Good plus I used my blaster a little, to stun a thief but you okay, I was worrying about you all day." Shadow replied to him while lying on Sonic's bed relieved he didn't have his first stake-out because his Sonic wouldn't sleep that night, pushing those thoughts aside feeling Sonic hug him making him grin, he was a little tired after police work seeing Maddie entering with mugs of warm-milk.

Shadow was stunned seeing Sonic drinking up, knowing it helped him relax besides his snuggles leaving Sonic's room but would be back later, knowing Sonic would need him
