"Happy Birthday." Tom and Maddie along with Tails said to Sonic. It was now June and Tom and Maddie knew this was Sonic's birthday month so were havibg a BBQ plus had gotten a birthday cake from the bakery and there were gifts galore making Sonic excited. "Thanks guys and happy just celebrating with you-" he said sensibg Shadow's aura seeing him there but Tom and Maddie saw a scowk on his face which was weird, those two wereclose making Sonic facepalm remembering it was also Shadow's birthday month too whispering to Tails making Tom and Maddie on guard. "If you're here to wreck his birthdat then think again. Don't make us get GUN involved." Tom warned him making the brown and red furred hedgehig male freak oht at the mention of GUN looking at Sonic. "Chaos Control." he yelled vanishing making Tom and Maddie relieved but Sonic quiet decidibg to let Shadow calm down then talk to him knowing he probabky fekt like everybody forgot aboht hin
"Wait, it's also Shadow's birthday." Tails asked seeing Sonic nodding getting why Shadow had looked upset includihg when Tom had mentioned GUN not understandibg that part but they could talk about that later seeing Knuckles and Wade show up on their motorcycle relieving them making Knuckles wonder what was wrong as Sonic explained seeing the male echidna frowning. "It's not yoyr concern. Just enjoy yoyr day and worry about him tomorrow." he told him makihg Sonic guess that was true guessing Maria probably cekebrated Shadow's birthday when she'd been aroubd understanding how spending yohr birthday alone would feel.
"You've gotta a piubt but what do you wanna do." Tails asked him.
"I don't know but we'll figure something oht. He's probably just chilling oht or stuff." Sonic relied to hin feeling better especially the chilli dogs being ready knowing Shadow liked his extra spicy with halopenos but Sonic wasn't into spicy stuff remembering Shadow had tricked him into trying a spicy chilli dog seeing grapes in the salad guessing that was Knuckles's way of getting his beloved grapes making Tom sigh seeing Wade eating a burger plus had been bowling as he and Knuckles were on their own bowling team, The Warriors which had impressed Tom that Knuckles now had an outlet for his energy so he wouldn't be scaribg construction crews off seeing Maddie agreeing plus he lived with Wade now.
Shadow was surprised, finding a gift wrapped box and cake in his attic bedroom guessing Sonic had felt bad that everybody had forgotten his birthday opening seeing a locket opening it making his eyes widen in surprise seeing a photo of hin with Maria putting it on smiling a lil wishing she could be here eating messily which Sonic could hear making him smile. "I think he liked it, Sonic but you look tired so should sleep." he heard Tails saying.
"Yeah he did, Yes I'm tired after all the fun we had today but hope Shadow's okay as I can hear him taljung to sonebody and sniffling." Sonic told hin heading to bed unaware that somebody had visited Shadow that was important to him realising who it was deciding to just leave Shadow alone as it was still their birthday but getting into bed beside his owl stuffie which reminded him of Longclaw whom he missed remembering seeing her when the map had revealed itsekf knowing Maria was probably visiting Shadow. The next morning, he found a mellow Shadow eating a bowk of coffee beans knowing he ate them like cereal knowing there was still some for Tom and Maddie to make coffee seeing him smile hearing him ask what was on his mind.
"Maria visited me last night, after you went to bed. She said she's proud of ne but thanks for the gift and cake." he told him.
"You're welcone as everybody deserves to celebrate their birthday, even the ultimate life form himself." Sonic said making Shadow blush knowibg Knuckles had slept over last night so they'd had fun in the bedroom like launching off the ture swing into pillows among other things which Shadow had heard but surprised the ultimate lifeform wasn't wearing his nouse-cancelling headphones like he did in the mornings because shenigans happened. "They needed charged Sonic because after Maria, I didn't feel like sleeping." he told hin. "Taylor Swift and the Tortured Souls Department album right." Sonic asked seeing him noddibg.
