There are barely two weeks left before Brooke and Lucas' wedding, and Brooke is currently in a wedding dress store. Accompanied by Lily and Debie, she is indeed trying on several models, under the admiring gaze of her friends. Happy, she tries to enjoy this day, without thinking about the problems related to Lucas' parents. The Scott couple having apparently been furious when Haley and Clay actually gave them their resignation. Lucas, Clay, Haley and Brooke are therefore waiting for possible reprisals and preparing for the worst. However, the wedding is far too important to let these problems spoil this day of happiness to come.
Lily : You're so beautiful, Mom! You look like a princess!
Brooke : Thanks, sweetie.
Debie : Lily's right, Brooke. You look gorgeous.
Brooke : Thanks, Debie. I can't wait for the wedding, you know.
Debie : I can imagine. And Lucas must be really excited too.
Brooke : Yeah, although he's been really busy with work for the past few days. Haley and Clay are coming to work with him, so there's a lot of paperwork to do. The good news is that it'll give us more time together afterwards.
Debie : Yeah, I understand that this isn't happening at the best of times, Brooke. Have you heard from his parents?
Brooke : No, not since Clay and Haley quit their jobs.
Debie : I see. Okay, let's try to take our minds off them and get back to your wedding.
Brooke : You're right, Debie. Besides, there's still a lot to do. And the most important thing is picking out a dress. I think I'll get this one, what do you think?
Lily : That's the one I want too, Mom. It's so beautiful.
Debie : I vote for this one too, Brooke.
Brooke : Great! So, it's decided!
Brooke tells the saleswoman her choice, who takes her measurements, then she goes to the cash register to pay for her dress. Then, she, Debie and Lily leave the store in a good mood, in order to continue their shopping for the wedding.
When Brooke comes home with her daughter at the end of the day, her good mood is quickly forgotten. Because when she enters the living room with Lily to find Lucas, she has the unpleasant surprise of seeing that her parents are there. Holding her daughter by the hand, she immediately addresses her while the Scott couple stares at them with disdain.
Brooke : Sweetie, could you go up to your room, please?
Lily : Why?
Brooke : Because we need to talk like grown-ups, okay?
Lily : Yeah, but I wanted to tell Lucas everything we did today.
Seeing the little girl's disappointment, Lucas approaches and kneels in front of her.
Lucas : You'll tell me everything later, sweetie. I promise.
Lucas tickles her chin, Lily can't help but giggle, before nodding willingly.
Lily : Okay. And can we watch a cartoon after?
Lucas : Of course, and we'll even make some popcorn, okay?
Lily : Okay!
Smiling again, Lily kisses Lucas on the cheek, then turns to head towards the door, skipping. Once the little girl has left, Lucas immediately tangles his fingers with Brooke's, dragging her to the couch. Then taking a seat on it, both of them face the contemptuous gaze of Victoria and Dan Scott.
Victoria : I'd rather we were alone to talk, Lucas.
Lucas : Brooke is at home here, Mom. Besides, we have no secrets from each other, so there's no way she's leaving, is that clear?
Victoria : Very clear!
Lucas : Okay, now that everyone's here, tell me what you want.
Dan : First of all, we want to tell you that Clay and Haley leaving really upset us, Lucas.
Lucas : That's what I thought I understood, yes. But what do you want me to do about it?
Dan : Nothing, but we know that you're the one who suggested it to them and it really disappointed us. You already refused to take my place at the head of the company, now you're turning your sister against us.
Lucas : You turned her against yourselves, Dad. Haley certainly didn't need me to realize what horrible parents you were. And as for disappointing you, I'm used to it and I don't care, to tell you the truth.
Dan : Please moderate your language, my boy! We're still your parents, so you owe us respect!
Lucas : You're not my parents anymore! Like I said, you're dead to me, got it? Besides, how can you talk about respect after what you did to Brooke?
Victoria : We did that to protect you from that girl, Lucas!
Lucas : I don't need to be protected from Brooke, Mom! If you had bothered to get to know her, you would know! But you are far too elitist and selfish to hang out with the little people, aren't you? You prefer to stay in your ivory tower, partying, without worrying about other people's problems! You make me want to puke!
Dan : Okay, that's enough! We've heard enough! If you refuse to listen to reason, that's fine, but know that we have made a decision!
Lucas : Oh really? And what decision?
Dan : The one to hire Julian to replace Clay as CEO!
Lucas : Julian? How can you hire this bastard, when he slept with my wife!
Victoria : That's in the past, Lucas! We really needed someone and Julian has all the qualifications to run the company.
Lucas : He's got all the qualities to stab people in the back! But anyway, I don't care! Do as you please!
Victoria : That's exactly what we intended to do, Lucas! And then, hiring Julian has another advantage!
Lucas : Really? And which one?
Victoria : The one to be able to obtain valuable information about your company!
Lucas : Are you planning to hire Julian so you can torpedo my company?
Victoria : Maybe, yes!
Lucas : That's impossible, because Julian signed a confidentiality agreement! He doesn't have the right to divulge company secrets, under penalty of being accused of espionage, and he knows it!
Victoria : Yes, but we would still have to prove that there was espionage, Lucas!
Lucas : If you do that, I won't hesitate for a single second to sue you!
Victoria : That's good, because we have very good lawyers!
Lucas : Perfect! Get out of our house and go to court then!
With the conversation over, Victoria and Dan get up from the couch, looking at Lucas and Brooke with a mocking look. Then, the couple turns on their heels and quickly heads towards the door, before opening it and leaving the room. Finally alone, Lucas and Brooke do not exchange a word, however, as the visit of Lucas' parents has shaken and upset them. However, a sharp pain in Brooke's lower abdomen breaks the silence. Lucas immediately looks at her in panic while she is now doubled over.
Brooke : Ouch!
Lucas : What's going on, my love?
Brooke : My stomach hurts a lot!
Lucas : I'm taking you to the hospital right away!
Carefully lifting Brooke, Lucas carries her to the car and, after installing her, drives off at full speed.
Finally arriving in front of the hospital, Lucas parks very quickly, before running around the car. Still doubled over, Lucas takes Brooke in his arms again to carry her to the emergency room. A doctor immediately takes care of them and leads them to an examination room.
Doctor : You're pregnant, right?
Brooke : Yes, about a month.
Doctor : Okay. I'm going to do an ultrasound to figure out where this pain is coming from.
Worried to death, Lucas and Brooke then look at the screen while the doctor examines Brooke's uterus.
Doctor : I see. You had a small placental abruption, Miss Davis.
Brooke : Is it serious? Am I at risk of losing our babies?
Doctor : No, don't worry. The abruption already seems to have healed and your babies are perfectly fine. I will even make you hear their hearts.
With the doctor turning on the sound, Brooke and Lucas hear their babies' heartbeats. Reassured and moved, they breathe a sigh of relief, before Lucas kisses Brooke tenderly.
Lucas : They're fine, my love. You see?
Brooke : Yes, but what happened, doctor?
Doctor : Early pregnancy can be a little tricky, especially when you're having twins. I guess your gynecologist told you all that?
Brooke : Yes, and he advised me to get as much rest as possible.
Doctor : And you didn't do that, did you?
Brooke : No, it's true that between my daughter, work, and planning the wedding, I couldn't. But I promise you that from now on, I will.
Doctor : Very well. And above all, try to avoid stress, okay?
Brooke : Okay, doctor.
Doctor : Good. Now that we're reassured, you can go home. I'm just going to give you a shot before I leave to calm the pain.
Brooke nods, the doctor then gives her the injection, relieving her very quickly. Freed from her pain and allowed to leave, Brooke and Lucas greet the doctor, then leave the hospital hand in hand.
Later in the evening, Lucas joins Brooke in the room, after spending, as planned, time with Lily. He undresses, then comes to bed taking Brooke in his arms.
Brooke : So? Did everything go well with Lily?
Lucas : Yes, very well. She told me about your day and then, after watching a movie, I put her to bed. She's fast asleep now. Are you feeling better, my love?
Brooke : Yes, don't worry. I don't hurt at all anymore.
Lucas : That's good, it reassures me. But I was really afraid that we were going to lose our babies, you know.
Brooke : Me too.
Lucas : This is all my fault. I haven't been there enough these last few days. And besides, I should never have let my parents come here.
Brooke : Don't say that. It's not your fault.
Lucas : Yes, but I promise you that from now on, I'll spend more time here to help you with Lily and with the wedding preparations. Haley and Clay will finally be able to take their jobs, so I'll be able to free up a lot more, okay?
Brooke : Okay, my love. I love you.
Lucas : I love you too. So, I heard you picked out your wedding dress? Lily told me you looked like a princess in it.
Brooke : Yes, but I won't tell you more, because it's a surprise.
Lucas : Can you at least tell me if it's easy to take off?
Brooke : I think that with some skill, you should be able to do it.
Lucas : Well, that's good, because I'm very skillful, my pretty.
Wanting to immediately prove his point, Lucas then makes love to her. His mouth gently takes Brooke to orgasm, before she does the same for him.
