"You excited about going back to school, since summer was intresting including somebody getting his girl back." Maddie asked Sonic and Tails. It was a few days later and the start of the school year for both Sonic and Tails but Tom had left for work but Maddie was wanting to take them to school hoping Knuckles along with Shadow would be okay in the house until they got back making Sonic nod.
"Yeah excited plus baseball practice after but Knuckles is probably gonna do training in the forest or be with Wade and Shadow's still sleeping and cuddling with his girlfriend." Sonic reassured her as they lect the house.
After a while, Shadow was up but making breakfast for him and Maria and for the first time not eating coffee beans like normal surprising Knuckles as he was heading out to do training in the forest sensing Sonic and Tails had left with Maddie leaving the house making Shadow relieved because he still felt awkward around the male echidna because of almost breaking his hand when they'd all first met despiteSonic saying they were all cool. "Mmmmmm something smells good, Shadow. What're you cooking." Maria asked entering the kitchen as Shadow turned around surprised.
"P-Pancakes Maria." Shadow replied blushing making her chuckle. She'd woken up with messy bedfur and quills wondering where Shadow had went until the smells from the kitchen had told her where he'd went but impressed seeing him flipping pancakes using his moves being careful not to make a mess which Maria got helping him which he appreciated going to the fridge getting the stuff that they used for pancakes amusing Maria who was making him impressed seeing Maddie's phobe was on the table getting an idea to take it to Maddie via Chaos Control which Maria thought a seeing him do this deciding to wait for him to return before eating seeing Knuckles entering eating making Maria astounded as she stopped him.
"Knuckles, I was saving those for Shadow. He went to give Maddie her phone back." she told him seeing Shadow appearing as Maria explained making him glare at the echidna male only looking at Maria was keeping him calm saying he could just heat up a waffle going to the fridge putting a waffle on a late putting it in the microwave hearing it ping after a bit putting syrup all over it eating and enjoying it. "That's good and sorry Knuckles ate the pancakes." Maria told him.
"I see everybody had a good day, huh." Maddie said seeibg them nodding. It was dinnertime and Sonic and Tails had returned from school and Sonic had returned from baseball practice but had did homework, even though he'd gotten a lot which had surprised Tom and Maddie impressed he'd did it.
"Yeah, it was a good day mom. despite better like hitting a home run at practice." Sonic said seeing Maria smirk at this noticing Shadow was quiet sensing he was shy guessing he needed help with his social skills seeing Sonic nodding feeling his phone buzz as it was TikTok which Tom and Maddie had no clue about it as they'd no idea he had an account making Tom curious despite Sonic saying it was just a friend making Maddie get that.
"You put the home run on TikTok, didn't you." Tails whispered majibg Sonic nod
