"The sushi's really good here, and hope Sonic doesn't find out I used a ring portal to get us here as he'd flip out along with the others but it's worth it." Shadow told Maria. Right now he and Maria were at a sushi bar in Tokyo which involved him using a ring portal along with him dusguising himself, so humans wouldn't freak out or alert GUN which he didn't want to happen or for history to repeat itself but enjoying it here unaware a chao from the Chao Garden had snuck into Maria's bag while they were having fun
"You could tell them why you did it, for me but it's sweet you did it. You're gonna be okay while I'm at school right as I'm kind of feeling nervous about it." Maria admitted feeling him squeeze her hand gently knowing everytime Maddie or Sonic talked to her about school, it made her nervous until he told them to drop it but if humans didn't realise he was here in plain sight, a bunch of human cubs would be easy to fool and he could help Maria feel Kay with school smirking as his eyes glowed.
"Shadow what're you up to, nothing crazy that'll get you in trouble." Maria asked.
"No, nothing bad Maria, I promise." Shadow said relieving her.
"I knew it, you did use a ring portal, wait until Tom and Maddie find out. They'll ground you for infinity if they find out, wait what's that sound." Shadow heard Sonic saying. He and Maria had just returned and Sonic was there making Shadow scowl not listening. "I did. It for Maria blue boy. Nothing happened but of course you don't believe me and still think I'm the bad guy from somebody who hid in a cave letting everybody think he was the Blue Devil." Shadow said going upstairs to his and Maria's room.
"Geez Maria your boy can hold a grudge. What kind of thing is that and how did it get in your bag." Maria heard Sonic say as Tails was scanning the creature revealing it was a Chao making Sonic realise it was from that Chao. Garden place in Tokyo so should return it making Maria agree seeing him using a ring going through with the Chao hoping Shadow was Kay as he looked handsome in that outfut he'd been wearing.
"Is something bothering you Maria, is it about the Chao." Tails asked Maria.
"It's just I know Shadow's made mistakes and everybody sees him as the bad guy but I can see the goodness in him even if others don't." Maria told him unaware Shadow was listening feeling tears in his eyes along with feeling a warm feeling in him knowing it was love going upstairs to his and Maria's room seeing Sonic return wondering what was going on.
"It's nothing Sonic." Maria told him.
