Shadow smirked, seeing Halloween decorations being brought from the attic and Mei was curious making Tom and Maddie chuckle along with Sonic as the baby hedgehog female was being cute plus grabbed the owl stuffie making Sonic nervous as Claw was his confort stuffie and named after Longclaw which Tom got because he saw Sonic sleep with her when he checked on him to make sure he wasn't sneaking out again, like before Knuckles and Tails came along in their cub's life making Maria get it.
"Halloween sounds awesome, and so Shadow's holiday you know. Plus Mei doesn't really understand sibce she's a baby." Sonic told them. "You've gotta a point Sonic." Maria told them.
Tom saw Shadow getting excited seeing knives making Sonic facepalm. "They're for carving pumpjins Shadow not what you think." Sonic told him as Shadow was cuddling Mei seeing her curious rolling a pumpkin around which they found sweet. "Mi-Mei you wanna carve a pumpkin with mommy and daddy." Shadow said seeing her crawl over to him with the pumpkin.
"I think she's saying yes, Shadow." Sonic told him. Maria saw her crawling after Ozzie which Tails worried about that, even though the dog knew she was part of their family but felt his pager buzzibg majibg his eyes widen.
"Shadow you okay, where're you going, don't you wanna carve pumpkins." Sonic asked confused.
"I do, and just gotta take this." Shadow said leaving them, as he answered the pager hearing there was trouble hanging up using chaos control to teleport out of there, just as Tails entered wondering where Shadow had went to knowing he'd be back hoping Maria wasn't too worried, or Mei upset because her daddy was gone.
Shadow took a deep-breath returning to the house in Green Hills hoping his lil trip to Gotham hadn't taken too long or had missed by Mei knowing he'd promised Mei he'd help her carve a pumpkin seeing Maria up with Mei holding an uncarved pumpkin making Shadow relieved sitting on the floor showing his and Maria's cub cub to use her baby claws to carve making Maria smile recordibg this moment seeibg Mei happily on Shadow's lap with little pumpkin covered paws booping his nose getting it on him making him chuckle. "Daddy's not a pumpkin, remember but you're being adorable." Shadow said unaware Sonic was watching trying not to make a sound.
"He and Maria are helping Mei with her pumpkin which is sweet." Sonic tokd Tails but that next morning, they saw Shadow feeding Mei but in a calm moid which weirded them out, not knowing that he and Maria had been up all night with Mei playing and Shadow had taken them flying but Mei loved her daddy's wings snuggling them, giving them hope that maybe one day, she'd evolve and grow her own wings only surprised that Shadow was doing right by taking care of Mei making Shadow surprised.
