Lola, her voice hushed with dramatic intensity, grabbed Lana's hand.

"Time to talk to our big, spooky sister," she declared, pulling Lana towards Lucy's dark corner of the house.

They found Lucy reading a creepy-looking book in a candlelit corner of the dining room.

"Lucy," Lola whispered, "we have a problem. A ghost problem."

Lucy, still reading her creepy book, looked up. "Is it Aunt Mildred's ghost? Is she still mad about the fruitcake?"

"No," Lola said, rolling her eyes. "It's about Clyde's mommy. We think she's a ghost."

The twins could almost see Lucy's eyes get a little bigger underneath her bangs. "A ghost mommy? Whoa!"

"Yeah," Lana said, "We saw his two dads, but no mommy. Lola thinks she's invisible, like a ghost."

Lucy, now interested, closed her book.

"Hmm," she said, tapping her chin with a long, pale fingernail. "Maybe she's stuck between worlds."

Lola, thinking Lucy knew what she was talking about, asked, "So, how do we catch her?"

Lucy, happy to be an expert, explained. "First, a ghost net. Made of spiderwebs and moon stuff. Then, a magic-eight ball to find ghosts. And then…"

Scared and excited, Lana interrupted: "What if she's a mean ghost? What if she tries to get us?"

Lucy just shrugged. "We'll give her some warm ghost goop. Ghosts like that."

Lola, ready to go, clapped her hands. "Okay, Lucy, let's do it! We have a ghost mommy to catch!"

Lucy nodded. "Yeah! This will be fun, like when I tried to find Grandma's burnt dinner smell!"

Suddenly creeped out and disgusted, the twins took a couple of steps back from their big sister.
