When Max woke up, she felt that something was lying on top of her and when she looked, a very beautiful snow-white cat was snuggled up on her chest. After looking around, her eyes landed on Mr. Jefferson as he was sitting in one of the chairs reading a book.

Sensing that someone was looking at him, he looked over and saw that Max was awake. Puttin the book away he walked over and removed his cat so that Max could sit up.

"You must be a cat person as well." Mr. Jefferson said. "I have never seen my cat interact with anyone when I've had guests over." He continued. "But for some reason she seems to like you." He said as he sat down next to Max on the sofa while his cat went back to lay down in Max's lap. "How are you feeling?" he asked as Max petted his cat.

"Better now that I've had some sleep." Max said as she made eye contact with Mr. Jefferson before looking down at the cat in her lap again.

"Look Max." Mr. Jefferson said. "I know it may be unconventional, and it may be hard for you at times, but I'll try and be there for you as much as possible." He continued as he took hold of one of Max's hands with one of his. "For now, I think it's best if you stay in the dorm, but once you have graduated." He continued. "I just hope that you'll think about maybe moving in here after school is over. You don't have to decide as of right now, but I was hoping that you could think about it." He finished as he looked Max in her eyes.

"I haven't thought about what I'll do after I graduate." Max said. "I thought that I would move back home, get a job before I go to college or university." She continued. "But that was before I found out about the baby." She sighed. "My parents don't approve, at least not my dad." Max said. "Don't worry, I never mentioned anything about you." She quickly added when she saw the look on Mr. Jeffersons face.

Before Mr. Jefferson could say anything, two things happened. One, the automated cat feeder went off causing his cat to jump off Max's lap and sprint to the food. And two, Max's stomach rumbled loudly making him chuckle. Getting up he walked into his kitchen, and he came back with some menus from different restaurants.

"I figured I could order something in, unless you prefer a homecooked meal instead?" Mr. Jefferson said as he handed the menus to Max.

Turning the menus over, Max saw that some of them were very expensive so she put those to the side and focused on the cheaper options. Seeing this, Mr. Jefferson assured Max that it was ok to have a look at the more expensive ones. After looking through them all a few times, Max decided to go for a classic burger. Once Mr. Jefferson had ordered he showed Max the room he had prepared for her stay.

The rest of the weekend went by way too fast for Max's liking. And before she knew it, Monday morning had arrived. Having to spend the first few minutes of being awake over the toilet seat throwing up was not something Max recommended. Once she was done, she opened the door only to see Victoria standing there.

"Took you long enough." Victoria said as she looked Max over. "You look like shit." She continued before entering the stall Max had just vacated. "At least you didn't make a complete mess in here." Max could hear Victoria say as she left the toilet to head for the showers.

Like most of the school days, Max went to her classes and tried to stay away from any ongoing drama. When Warren walked up to her as she prepared to go for lunch was not something she had expected that day.

"Hey, Max." Warren said as Max just stared at him. "Listen, I just wanted to, um." Warren said but was interrupted by Max.

"Save it Warren." Max said feeling fed up suddenly. "Probably hormones." Max thought as she started to walk away. She made it all the way to the foyer before Warren grabbed her arm.

"Come on Max, don't be like that." Warren said. "I'm just trying to talk to you." He continued.

"I don't really feel like talking right now." Max said as she got the feeling that if she didn't get to a toilet soon, she would sure be making a mess where she currently stood.

"Max, why do you have to make things so hard. Can't you just…" Warrens was saying when he got interrupted by Max.

"No Warren." Max shouted. "I rejected your advances, not because of who you are or your looks. I didn't want to jeopardise a good friendship." She continued not realising that a small crowd had started to form around them. "And what happens? You ignore me for months and whenever I tried to start a conversation, you guilted me for breaking your heart before storming away. Well guess what! I'm tired of always being the one to patch things up. I'm tired of always being the one to be there no matter what." Max continued to shout as tears fell down her cheeks. "I'm tired of all the…" Max started but didn't finish as she suddenly got the need to vomit. And vomit she did, right in front of Warren making him step back in both disgust and worry. A resounding EW was heard as Max vomited right onto the floor of the foyer making Warren to look around. When he noticed the crowd, he quickly slipped away not wanting to be the centre of attention. Max wiped her mouth as good as she could while one of her hands went to her stomach. And that's when she felt it as her eyes got big in slight chock, she could feel what felt like a small baby bump under her jumper.

Further down the corridor, outside the photography lab, Mr. Jefferson and the principal was discussing the upcoming graduation ceremony.

"I don't know about you, but I'm thinking about hiring another photographer to take all the class photographs for the graduation." The principal said as he raised his hand to stop Mr. Jefferson from speaking. "I just want you to enjoy the ceremony this year instead of being busy running around with your camera like you did last year, and the year before that." He continued. "You are of course welcome to still do that, but please, make sure that you also celebrate with your class." He finished as he gave Mr. Jefferson a knowing look.

"I'm grateful of you thinking that I…" Mr. Jefferson started but was interrupted by a commotion in the foyer.

"What in the name of." The principal said as he and Mr. Jefferson hurried to see what the commotion was about. They arrived just in time to see Max vomit onto the floor and heard the resounding EW from all the onlookers.

"Everyone, please return to your classes." The principal said as he addressed everyone present at the scene as Mr. Jefferson went up to Max to check on her, while also making sure not to step in any of the vomit.

"Are you alright Max?" Mr. Jefferson said with obvious worry in his voice.

"N-no." Max choked out after a few heavy beaths. "I think I'm about to throw up again." She continued and moments later, she did just that. Luckily Mr. Jefferson got her to the nearest trashcan in time.

"I'll take her to the nurses office." Mr. Jefferson said to the principal before taking Max with him.

"I can feel the bump." Max said quietly for only Mr. Jefferson to hear as they neared the nurses office. "Is it visible?" Max asked fearing that others would soon see the reason as to why she had suddenly thrown up.

"No, it's not visible under you jumper." Mr. Jefferson said after checking her over. "Do you want me to contact your cousin?" He asked as the nurse walked in.

"No that won't be necessary." Max said as she looked up at him. Still remembering the offer that Mr. Jefferson made her during the weekend, even if it may be a hasted decision, Max decided to take him up on his offer. Having made her mind up, Max let Mr. Jefferson know that she would like to arrange for her belongings to ne moved into his house once she graduated.

After having been checked by the nurse, where she asked her to take her jumper off. The nurse took a quick look at Max but didn't say anything, just gave her a knowing look and told her to take the rest of the day off from school and to get plenty of rest. And if she needed anything she was free to come and see her.
