I don't own Star Wars or its characters, but Nadia Aomori and my other OCs I own only.

Fire of the Rebellion

Chapter 29: Legacy

In the Olins Apartment, Nadia laid down on the bed within the room of her and Ferus, fiddling with the Holocron of the Grand Jedi Master Satele Shan.

The raven haired woman wore a sleeveless dark green t-shirt and soft grey trousers. Her hair was styled in a braided ponytail.

Zachary and Gwendolyn were fast asleep in their bedroom with RG-G1 looking after them while Ferus and Nadia were still awake.

Nadia was lost in her thoughts since she was remembering the training session she gave to Lisa on Spintir.

She had seen that Lisa was a fast learner and wouldn't be long until the third Skywalker will be creating her own lightsaber.

Though that didn't mean Lisa would need to abandoned her duty on looking after home planet.

Lisa was the Queen of Naboo after all.

As she fiddled with the ancient Jedi Holocron, Nadia bit her lip as she thought about Ferus defeating the Fourth Sister.

Though the Empire lost another dark side Force-sensitive agent that didn't mark the end of the Imperial Inquisition.

There were still more Inquisitors out there to hunt down the remaining Jedi and her family.

Then the door to the room opened and Ferus came inside, making Nadia sit on the bed and place the Holocron on the small desk.

"Hey."Ferus greeted.

"Hey."Nadia replied.

Ferus gave Nadia a glass of twistler; a drink made with Corellian brandy and a tart fruit extract.

"Thirsty?"Ferus assumed.

"I am."Nadia answered as her husband handed her the beverage."Good thing Chandrila has some drinks from home."

Ferus gave Nadia a smirk.

"And if I remember clearly you were the one who said drinking alcohol is not a good thing."Ferus sneered.

Nadia rolled her eyes.

"Was never one to follow rules that much, remember?"Nadia informed and smiled smugly at Ferus."The same with you, hun."

Ferus let out a chuckle as Nadia took a sip of her twistler.

"So tell me about Lisa's training, Dia."Ferus suggested."How was it?"

"Lisa is a fast learner."Nadia complemented as she placed her glass away from her lips."Besides being taught palace education and politics, she seems eager to learn the ways of the Jedi."

Ferus nodded in approval.

"The Force is strong with her."Ferus said with a small smile."The same with Luke and Leia."

Nadia noticed a feeling of sadness within Ferus.

"What's wrong, Ferus?"Nadia asked.

"I spoke with Senator Organa the other day and he said it won't be long until Leia takes his place in the Imperial Senate."Ferus exclaimed with a bittersweet smile."But as Leia grows up, I…I can't help but realise how much she looks like Padmé. Her hair. Her eyes. It's the same as hers."

Nadia placed her beverage down to plant a gentle kiss on Ferus' lips.

"I realise that too, Ferus."Nadia assured."We all miss her."

Ferus nodded at his wife.

"Though there is something else."Ferus commented.

A forced yet bright smile appeared on Nadia's face.

"Leia inherited both her mother's stubbornness and her father's snark."Ferus exclaimed."She is a total tomboy. She once told me her aunts Tia, Rouge, and Celly, whom she described as 'three redoubtable dowagers' that made her girlhood an intermittent burden."

Nadia laughed lightly at Ferus' declaration.

"She is so Anakin's kid."Nadia chuckled."Everything down to her snark, recklessness and witty comebacks, it's all him. But…she definitely has a lot of Padmé's strength, stubbornness and wisdom in her too."

Ferus' smile shrunk a bit.

"Leia is acts more like Anakin than Padmé despite having her mother's features."Ferus complemented."As for Lisa, she is more Padmé's kid and acts a bit like father even when she doesn't wear the traditional royal Naboo make up."

"So it is safe to say Leia is 70% Anakin and 30% Padme while Lisa is 50% both her parents?"Nadia sneered.

A slight sigh escaped from Ferus' mouth.

"I guess so."Ferus said with a shrug and placed his hand onto Nadia's."Say, Nadia? May I tell you something?"

"Sure."Nadia insisted.

"A Jedi who loves is more powerful than a Jedi who represses his emotions."Ferus admitted."That's what you taught me, Nadia. And look at what we have now."

Nadia smiled softly at Ferus, feeling touched by his words.

Inside the Aldera Royal Palace, Maybelline was brushing Princess Leia's hair to prepare her for the mission on Lothal.

Princess Leia Organa was a 15 year old girl with dark chocolate brown hair that went down her back and deep brown eyes. She wore a white turtleneck sweater with a light blue shirt underneath, white trousers and short dark grey boots.

A pout escaped from Leia's face as Maybelline smiled while gently brushed the young teenage princess' hair with a brush while she began thinking up some new hairstyles for her to try.

"Let's see...something like a mature and sophisticated bob cut or maybe a wavy style that's bold and bouncy?"Maybelline suggested."Or how about long and straight for a classic and chic look? Sometimes changing your hairstyle is just what a girl needs to lift her spirits."

"Anything but the 'earmuffs', Aunt Meibe."Leia admitted.

Maybelline chuckled. "Okay."

The 22 year old woman then styled the Princess of Alderaan's hair with a braided ponytail.

"There, Leia."Maybelline remarked."You're ready."

Leia looked at her appearance in her dressing mirror causing her to smile lightly.

"Not bad."Leia responded and glanced at Maybelline."So we'll be heading off to Lothal after breakfast?"

"That's correct, moonstone."Maybelline agreed with a nod."We'll be going to Lothal to deliver supplies for the planet's civilians, but also give ships for the rebel fleet."

A smug look appeared on the young princess' face.

"Awesome."Leia chuckled in delight.

Maybelline raised up her hand.

"Leia, I know you're excited to go out of the palace again. Though I would advise you to be extra careful."Maybelline instructed with a frown."The Empire must not know that the Alderaan's royal family is not part of the rebel alliance. So proceed with caution."

Leia gave Maybelline a confident smirk.

"Relax, Aunt Meibe. I know what I'm doing and don't worry."Leia assured with a wink."I'll be in my best behaviour."

Maybelline stared at Leia silently.

As a child, Leia was not fond of her role as the Princess of Alderaan.

She was often seen by many, especially her family, as a tomboy and was sometimes mistaken for a domestic girl rather than a princess.

Looking after the young teenage princess had been a bit challenging, but Maybelline still loved Leia as she was a niece to her.

Wanting to expose her to as many experiences as possible, Bail Organa often took his daughter along to trips to other worlds such as Ithor, where he attended the Time of the Meeting as the representative of the Imperial Senate.

About six years old at the time, the Meeting was an unforgettable experience for Leia.

But this was to be Leia's first trip to another planet without Senator Organa this time and having only Maybelline accounting her.

"You love Alderaan, isn't Leia?"Maybelline asked.

A glimpse of confusion appeared on Leia's face.

"What do you mean, Aunt Meibe?"Leia questioned."Alderaan is my home. I have two parents who are very much in love with each other. I am raised in politics, but it never harms the family. Resisting the Empire never seems to conflict with story time, trips together as a family or wonderful sunlit afternoons spent riding my thranta."

Maybelline smiled lightly at Leia, making the teenage girl frown at her.

"What?"Leia questioned.

"Nothing."Maybelline complemented with a small smile."It's just you remind me of somebody I used to know. Fearless and stubborn."

"I am not stubborn."Leia retorted.

"Yes, you are, Leia."Maybelline sneered."You've been like that since you were a toddler."

Leia rolled her eyes.

"Ha, ha, ha, very funny."Leia retorted sarcastically."Just please don't mention anything embarrassing when we go to Lothal. First impressions are important."

"Whatever you say, moonstone."Maybelline sneered.

Leia's frown deepened.

"And no nicknames either, Aunt Meibe."Leia instructed with a stern look."I am not six years old anymore."

Maybelline smirked. "Whatever you say."

A bright grin suddenly appeared on Leia's face as she glanced at Maybelline.

"If the mission is successful, can you tell me a story from the Clone Wars?"Leia requested.

"Sure."Maybelline answered."Which one?"

"The one with Anakin Skywalker."Leia suggested kindly."The Hero of the Republic. The Hero with no Fear. The ones that include him are my favourites."

Maybelline felt butterflies at Leia mentioning the hero that she looked up to as a little girl, but hid her fear.

There was a time for everything.

And the time for Leia to know about her birth parents as well as their names were to come another time.

But not right now.

"As you wish."Maybelline responded with a small smile.

The young tomboyish princess then headed out of her bedroom with her lady-in-waiting following her from behind in silence.

(In this story, Leia is a teenage kid since I found it confused that her appearance in the Star Wars Rebels Episode 'A Princess on Lothal', she already looks like a young woman.)

See you all in the next chapter and have a wonderful day!
