Sasuke

Sasuke lit a match and tried to minimize the creak sound the gate made as best as he could.
The Uchiha dungeons were not lit, thus minimizing the chance at escaping for any of the prisoners. As for the Uchihas themselves, all those allowed inside had the Sharingan, making them more than capable of seeing in the dark. Sasuke, unfortunately, didn't have the Sharingan, and therefore had to rely on a matchstick to light up his path. Nevertheless, he dragged his hand along the brick walls. Whichever one wrote out 'Tashin', would be where he was kept. The texture of the walls was so rough, and the smell was that of a gutter. He couldn't believe his was actually pitying the prisoners. The cells were similar. They were walls with heavily sealed gates leading inside. The walls themselves had the presence of a certain type of chakra which, when infused into a substance, allowed none but Sharingan eyes to see through, both ways. How he wished he had them.

When he arrived at the cell at the very end, he felt a different chakra presence. No, more like multiple chakras infused into the wall. He hastily scanned the wall with his hand, and found it.
Tashin. This was the cell he had been looking for. He mentally commended his stealth skills, and would have smiled, had he not heard a voice. No, hearing a voice wasn't that uncommon in the Uchiha prison cell. However, hearing her voice was. Actually, he didn't know that for sure either. But he sure as hell knew he despised hearing it with every fiber of his being.

"Itachi-kun, are you sure about this?" He heard her say. He clenched his jaw in an attempt to not yell at her, because if that brown-haired bimbo was there, then his beloved older brother was too, and he didn't want him to know just how may cuss words Sasuke had learnt.

"Yes, Izumi, I'm sure, but if you're afraid, you may sit it out. I do not wish to force you." His brother's calm voice would have been inaudible, had Sasuke not trained his ears to identify it.

"No, it's okay. After all, I'm the only one who can identify his movements through the wall."

"Thanks, Izumi-san." A third voice said. Sasuke knew this voice too, and although he didn't loathe it as much, he still wasn't fond of it. Shisui was here too. Of course he was.
As far as he was concerned, Shisui and Izumi Uchiha were his enemies. They were both trying to wriggle their ways into his brother's heart, their parents heart, and his heart. He was the only one who hadn't fallen prey to their tactics, and his brother seemed to be relatively aware of his thoughts on his 'friends'. In an attempt to reassure him, Itachi had told Sasuke that Shisui was like a brother too him, just as much as Sasuke was. But that, in turn, infuriated him. How dare someone replace his birthright of being Itachi's brother? His favorite brother, the one he loved the most?! And Izumi, he couldn't, with all the words in all the dictionaries and languages of the world describe how much he hated her. That little gremlin had Itachi wrapped around her finger. She was the one he was always staring at, sneaking out at night with, being shy around and spending most of his time with. It didn't help that whenever Sasuke would ask his mother about it, she'd giggle and say 'you'll understand later', and when he asked Shisui about it, he'd give Sasuke a smirk that was objectively worse.

Bottom line was, once Sasuke heard Itachi would be gone for three days with those two, he had to know where. And that's what led him here.
He was snapped out of his thoughts by a strange, rumbling sound.

"Do you...think that's enough, Itachi-kun?"

"Yes, Izumi. Thank you." Sasuke could feel her blush. He was sure a vein popped on his forehead.

"Can we get him to speak to us, then?" Shisui said.

"I suppose so." His brother replied. "You two, stay back." Sasuke held his breath. The Sharingan would allow them to see him if he tried to peek inside, so he couldn't, although he wished he could. What was it that Izumi did that caused that rumbling? What's his brother trying to do? And most importantly, why were they trying to communicate with Tobirama Senju, the highest guarded prisoner in all of the Uchiha prison cell?

"Uhm - sir?" Itachi said.

"What is it, Uchiha?" The voice Sasuke heard was gruff, deep, and demanding.

"Well, I'm Itachi, and I-"

"What, is - it, Uchiha?!" Sasuke thought that guy snapped way too quickly, but then again, the Uchiha did have incredibly painful means of extracting information out of others, and that had a lasting effect on people.

"Well, how would you feel if we freed you?" Sasuke's whole body froze when Itachi said that. Free him? Itachi couldn't be serious, right? No way he had father's permission to free such a powerful enemy.

"Stop with the mind fuckery, Uchiha. You've already done that enough as is!" The man, no, Tobirama spat.

"Please listen sir-" Izumi started, but was cut off

"Oh, so the Uchiha brought his friends! What a good little show, isn't it, watching the prisoner go crazy? Bring some popcorn while you're at it!"
Geez.

"Sir, if you can please be quiet, we'll tell you why we want to free you." Izumi finished. Itachi cleared his throat.

"Your brother, Hashirama-"

"Don't you dare bring my brother into-"

"- is dead." Sasuke finally understood what his father meant when he said that silence could be louder than noise.

"Didn't I just tell you to stop toying with me, Uchiha?!" His voice croaked, and Sasuke flinched at the sound.

"Please, sir. I would never tell you that your brother died just to toy with you, I promise. As a brother myself, that is a very sick act, and it's because I am a brother and am acting through putting myself in your shoes that I want to free you. I want you to be able to say goodbye and pay your respects to him." Sasuke's jaw slackened.

Itachi...

"...are you, sure?"

"Yes, sir." Shisui spoke. "He and his wife, Queen Mito were impaled with multiple shurikens in their sleep, which were rumored to be poisonous.

"... the girl can free me." Sasuke heard shuffling, and a blast of something which was surely a Jutsu. He then heard a loud thud.

"Sir! Are you alright?" Itachi worriedly asked.

"Perfectly fine."

Sasuke decided that this was the time to run. He rushed out, and sprang into some bushes. Distantly, he heard sounds, which were probably them talking.
When they finally reached outside, Sasuke could hear that gruff voice, Itachi's calm one, Shisui's deep one, and Izumi's chirpy one.

"Well, my condolence to you sir. I'd suggest you rest and-" Itachi was cut off by a thump sound, and a metallic one.

"I am grateful to you, boy, but this better not be a ploy set up by your 'respectable' Lord Madara, you hear me?" Sasuke felt a jolt of fear. He then heard him drop Itachi slowly.

"I'll ask for the last time. Are you being truthful?"

"I'll answer again sir. I'd never lie to you about such a serious matter."

"Alright. I'll see you three later." It wasn't till he heard the collective shuffle of the trio's feet that Sasuke peeked out of the bushes, and was instantly met with a face. This is what he looks like.
Tobirama's Senju's face was nothing, if not hostile. He had a defined jaw, multiple scars across his face, and unruly white hair. His sharp eyes glared at Sasuke, and he bolted.

He was held back by a hand on his shirt collar.

"You were listening, weren't you, Uchiha?" His low voice made Sasuke turn pale.

"I won't tell anyone, I sw-" he felt a cool blade press against his neck.
How does he have a weapon? Don't the Uchiha confiscate all the weapons of their prisoners?

"Silence." Once Sasuke shut up, Tobirama spoke again "I'll leave you, because you don't have the air of a spy, and you're not nearly stealthy enough. Also, I can tell you're the brother of the kid that kept calling me sir. I trust you won't tell anyone, but if you do, I'll come after you and skin you alive. I don't have any shame doing that to kids, as I've done before."

Sasuke felt scared. So this was the Senjus were like.

Sasuke furiously nodded his head, and Tobirama, removing the blade from his neck, turned him around to face him. Contrary to the previously grave expression he had, Tobirama's eyes were gentle.

"To be honest with you, you remind me of my younger self. I used to be jealous of those spending time with my brother, so I'd spy on him, which is actually the reason behind my great stealth skills. I know that sounds stupid, but... I loved him, and I just wanted to know if he loved them more than me." Tobirama shook his head, as if laughing at himself.

Sasuke, despite the fact that he was much more stoic, older and from an enemy kingdom, felt an odd sort of kinship with him.

"I won't, sir."

"I hope one day, people like you and your brother will be able to stop the war. Sasuke could see his eyes glistening, as if he was trying to hold back tears. What a tough guy. He found out his brother and sister in law died and didn't even flinch.

Sasuke knew the war did that to people, his own father a prime example.

Tobirama Senju then sped off, and Sasuke was shocked at how fast he still was.

He then felt this intense, intense feeling and tears gushed out of his face, dropping on the fresh grass beneath him. He wanted to stop the war, he wanted to so, so badly, so that maybe he could talk to this man without being hunted.
And he was going to. He and Itachi would.

Looking back, that was the biggest lie he ever told himself. It was probably his shitty luck that words and Senjus could do that to him.
