Reflection Cave and the Mega Stone Thief
After leaving Geosenge Town, Lincoln and his friends find themselves on Route 11 as they continue on their way to Shalour City where Lincoln plans to win his third badge.
Lincoln trained his Pokemon to prepare for his upcoming gym battle. His Sheglon learned Dragon Breath, his Braixen learned Light Screen, his Panpour learned Acrobatics, his Lucario and Floette got stronger, and his Farfetch'd learned Agility.
As he and his friends trained their Pokemon, Tierno hears some rustling coming from tall grass; he looks to see a bulky, humanoid Pokemon with rocky, red skin and looked like it was wearing karate garb. Tierno takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Throh, the Judo Pokemon. When it tightens its belt, it becomes stronger. Wild Throh use vines to weave their own belts" said Tierno's pokedex.
Lincoln looks at the Pokemon with a look of sorrow on his face, due to the fact that the Throh's red skin, and karate gi reminded him of his sister, Lynn Jr.
"This Pokemon looks strong; I'm catching it." said Tierno, pulling out a pokeball. "Let's go, Oddish!" He throws Oddish's pokeball and releases her. "Okay, Oddish, use Acid!" Oddish fires a ball of purple liquid from her mouth and it hits Throh, damaging it; Throh begins to slump. The Throh glares at Oddish and its eyes glowed red; Oddish slumps.
"That looked like Leer." said Lincoln.
"Oddish, use Absorb!" said Tierno. Oddish releases a red beam of energy from her leaves on her head and it hits Throh, draining some of its energy. One of the Throh's arms glowed yellow; it grabs Oddish and throws her to the ground, damaging her.
"Oddish, Stun Spore!" said Tierno. Oddish releases an orange powder from her leaves onto Throh; it begins to twitch.
"Throh's paralyzed now." said Serena. Throh is suddenly surrounded by a red aura.
"What's with Throh?" asked Shauna. The Throh tries to attack Oddish, but paralysis stops it.
"Absorb, once more!" said Tierno. Oddish releases a red beam of energy from her leaves on her head and it hits Throh, draining some of its energy, and healing Oddish's wounds. Tierno takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Throh, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicked. "I caught a Throh!"
"Way to go, Tierno." said Trevor. Oddish suddenly freezes up and begins to glow.
"Hey; Oddish's evolving." said Lincoln. Everyone watches as Oddish begins to change shape; when she finished glowing, she was bigger, she had arms, and had a flower on top of her head. Tierno points his pokedex at his newly-evolved Oddish.
"Gloom, the Weed Pokemon and the evolved form of Oddish. Smells incredibly foul! However, around one out of a thousand people enjoy sniffing its nose-bending stink." said Tierno's pokedex.
"Congratulations, Tierno." said Serena. Tierno then uses his pokedex to look up his new Throh's information.
"This says Throh's a guy, he knows Bind, Leer, Bind, Focus Energy, Seismic Toss, Vital Throh, and Revenge; he has the Guts ability which increases his attack strength when he has a status condition." said Tierno.
Lincoln looks around and soon sees two quadrupedal Pokemon; one was purple with a big horn on its head, while the other one had light blue skin and had no horn.
"What are those?" asked Serena; she points her pokedex at the light blue one.
"Nidorina, the Poison Pin Pokemon, and the evolved form of a female Nidoran. When feeding its young, it first chews the food into a paste, then spits it out for the offspring." said Serena's pokedex.
"I'll see what the other one is." said Trevor as he points his pokedex at the purple Pokemon.
"Nidorino, the Poison Pin Pokemon, and the evolved form of a male Nidoran. An aggressive Pokémon that is quick to attack. The horn on its head secretes a powerful venom." said Trevor's pokedex.
Lincoln watches as Nidorino and Nidorina were nuzzling each other affectionately; their colors and behavior towards each other, reminding him of his sister, Luna, and her girlfriend, Sam Sharp, putting a frown on his face.
"Let's catch them." said Trevor as he throws a pokeball, releasing his Cubone; the Nidorino sees this and gets in front of Nidorina.
"That is so cute how he's protecting Nidorina." said Shauna.
"Cubone, use Bone Club!" said Trevor. His Cubone swings his bone at the Nidorino, dealing super effective damage; it reacts by landing two strong kicks to Cubone's torso. "Cubone, use Headbutt!" His Cubone charges at the Nidorino and rams it in the side with his head, making it tumble to the ground.
The Nidorina, seeing her friend in danger, runs at Cubone, and swipes it repeatedly with her front claws.
"I got your back, Trevor." said Serena as she tosses a pokeball, releasing her Lunatone. "Lunatone, use Psywave!" Her Lunatone releases waves of psychic energy that hit the Nidorina, doing super effective damage to her; the Nidorina turns her attention towards Lunatone and lands two of her own kicks to it. "Lunatone, use Confusion!" Her Lunatone's eyes glowed as Nidorina is lifted up and thrown against a nearby tree, stunning it.
"Catch them, you two!" said Shauna.
"You got it!" Serena and Trevor say in unison. They both take a pokeball out of their bags and throw them at their respective opponents, hitting them, and sucking them in; the pokeballs wiggle a few times before they both clicked.
"You two did it!" cheered Shauna. While Serena and Trevor's new captures are sent to storage, they look them up on thier pokedexes.
"My Nidorina's a girl, she knows Growl, Scratch, Tail Whip, Double Kick, Poison Sting, and Fury Swipes; she has the Poison Point ability which could poison a Pokemon that tries to hit her with a physical move." said Serena.
"My Nidorino's a boy, he knows Leer, Peck, Focus Energy, Double Kick, Poison Sting, and Fury Swipes; he has the Poison Point ability also." said Trevor.
"I feel bad about splitting those two up." said Serena. "They liked each other."
"I guess the next time we're at a Pokemon Center, we can swap them for a Pokemon on each of our teams." suggested Trevor.
"That's a good idea." said Serena.
As Shauna trained her Pokemon, her Marill began to glow.
"Marill's evolving, everyone." said Shauna. Marill began to grow and change shape; when he stopped glowing, he had an ovoid body, his ears were now rabbitlike, and the lower part of his body was white with a white bubble pattern above it. Shauna points her pokedex at her newly-evolved Marill.
"Azumarill, the Aqua Rabbit Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Azurill. Its long ears are superb sensors. It can distinguish the movements of living things on riverbeds." said Shauna's pokedex.
"Congratulations, Shauna." said Lincoln; Shauna smiles in response.
The group returns their Pokemon to their pokeballs and look towards a cave entrance.
"That must be Reflection Cave." said Lincoln. "On the other side of that cave, my next gym battle waits."
"Excuse me." the group hears a voice call out to them. They look to see a police officer walking over to them.
"Can we help you, officer?" asked Shauna. The police officer holds out a wanted poster of a man with black hair, wearing a gray flat cap, and a black turtleneck shirt.
"Have you seen this man?" asked the police officer.
"No; who is he?" asked Trevor.
"His name is Chase; he goes around stealing other people's Mega Stones." replied the police officer. Shauna holds her purse tightly close to her.
"No, we haven't seen him, officer." said Lincoln.
"Well, he's been said to be seen outside Geosenge Town." said the police officer. "If you see him, be sure to let the authorities know."
"Yes, sir." said Lincoln. The police officer walks away; the group begin walking to Reflection Cave. Unbeknownst to them, Chase, the thief from the wanted poster watches the group go into the cave from behind a rock, also wearing black pants and shoes, while carrying a black duffel bag..
(Flashback)
Chase is hiding behind bushes in Route 10, watching Lincoln, Shauna, Tierno, and Trevor showing Astrid their Mega Stones.
'I should make quite a bundle selling those.' Chase thinks to himself. He watches Lincoln and his friends walking up Route 10 on their way to Geosenge Town.
(End Flashback)
Chase walks out from behind the rock and goes into Reflection Cave.
Inside Reflection Cave, Lincoln and his friends were walking through it; Shauna looks at a reflective wall.
"I can see how this place got its name." said Shauna. She stops to fix her hair; Lincoln smiles at her. Something suddenly falls from the ceiling of the cave and lands in front of them; it was a Pokemon that resembled a large metal seed with green thorns on its body. Lincoln points his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Ferroseed, the Thorn Seed Pokemon. When threatened, it attacks by shooting a barrage of spikes, which gives it a chance to escape by rolling away." said Lincoln's pokedex. Lincoln takes out a pokeball.
"Braixen, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Braixen's pokeball and releasing her. "Braixen, use Flame Charge!" Braixen charges at Ferroseed while fire surrounded her body and she rams it, dealing super effective damage; Braixen flinches in pain.
"What's wrong with Braixen?" asked Serena. Ferroseed releases glowing white needles from its thorns and they hit Braixen, dealing damage.
"Braixen, Fire Spin!" said Lincoln. Braixen releases a stream of fire that circles around Ferroseed, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage; it falls to the ground. Lincoln throws an empty pokeball at it, hitting it, and sucking it in. It wiggled a couple times until it clicked. "Yes! Ferroseed is mine."
"Good work, Lincoln." said Shauna. Ferroseed's pokeball vanishes and gets transported to storage. Lincoln looks up Ferroseed's information on his pokedex.
"My Ferroseed's a boy, he knows Tackle, Harden, Rollout, Curse, Metal Claw, Pin Missile, and Gyro Ball; he has the Iron Barbs ability which hurts Pokemon that attacks him, physicially." said Lincoln.
"That must be why Braixen looked hurt when she rammed him." said Tierno. Lincoln returns Braixen to its pokeball.
"Let's get going." said Lincoln.
"Stunky, use Smokescreen!" the group hears a man's voice yell. A cloud of thick black smoke filled the area.
"Hey, who did that?!" asked Lincoln.
"I can't see!" said Trevor.
"Hey; someone took my purse!" shouts Shauna.
"What?!" yelled Lincoln. He takes out a pokeball and throws it, releasing Farfetch'd. "Farfetch'd, use Air Cutter to blow this smoke away!" Farfetch'd flaps her wings and releases a strong gust of wind with energy blades in it and blows away the smoke. The group sees Chase, going through Shauna's purse.
"That's my purse!" shouts Shauna. Near Chase was a skunklike Pokemon. Serena points her pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Stunky, the Skunk Pokemon. It sprays a foul fluid from its rear. Its stench spreads over a mile radius, driving Pokémon away." said Serena's pokedex.
"Hey; it's that Chase guy from the poster that police officer showed us." said Tierno. Chase takes Shauna's Venusaurite out of her purse.
"That's mine!" yelled Shauna.
"Not anymore." said Chase before throwing Shauna's purse to her and runs away, followed by his Stunky.
"Trevor, you try to find that police officer and bring him here." said Lincoln.
"Right." said Trevor before running to the cave entrance.
"The rest of us, split up and find that thief." said Lincoln; Shauna, Serena, and Tierno nods in response and run in different directions.
In one part of Reflection Cave, Shauna was looking around.
"I hope we get my Venusaurite back from that crook." said Shauna.
In another part of Reflection Cave, Tierno was looking behind a large stalagmite.
"He's not here; hope he didn't get too far." said Tierno.
At another part of Reflection Cave, Chase and his Stunky were at a dead end, looking at Shauna's Venusaurite.
"We should get a pretty pokedollar for this." said Chase.
"Hey, you!" Chase hears Lincoln yell; he looks to see him standing several yards from him.
"What do you want, kid?" asked Chase.
"My friend's Venusaurite; give it back!" said Lincoln.
"Sorry, runt; but this precious Mega Stone is mine now." replied Chase.
"Give it back or I'll take it back." said Lincoln, pulling out a pokeball.
"Since I have no intention of giving it back, you'll have to take it, which I won't make easy for you." said Chase. He looks towards his Stunky. "Maybe I'll take your Mega Stone while I'm at it."
"I'd like to see you try!" said Lincoln. Chase looked at his Stunky.
"Ready, Stunky?" asked Chase. Stunky jumps in front of Chase and glares at Lincoln.
"Shelgon, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Shelgon's pokeball and releasing him. "Shelgon, use Headbutt!" Shelgon leaps at Stunky and rams it, knocking it back.
"Stunky, use Poison Gas!" said Chase. Stunky releases a thick purple gas from its mouth and it hits Shelgon; it turned purple under Shelgon's eyes.
"Oh man, Shelgon's poisoned." said Lincoln; Shelgon coughs from his poisoning. "Shelgon, Ember!" Shelgon releases embers from the hole on its shell and they hit Stunky, dealing damage; fire covers Stunky's body.
"Oh no, Stunky's burned!" said Chase. "Stunky, Fury Swipes!" Stunky leaps at Shelgon and claws him, repeatedly; Shelgon flinches. "My Stunky has the Stench ability which has the chance of making any Pokemon he hits physically flinch." Shelgon coughs from his poisoning while Stunky flinches from his burn. "Now, Stunky, use Slash!" Stunky leaps at Shelgon while its claws glowed white and he claws Shelgon, damaging him; both Pokemon receive damage from their status conditions.
"Shelgon, use Dragon Breath!" said Lincoln. Shelgon releases a beam of green energy at Stunky and hits him, dealing damage.
"Stunky, use Screech!" said Chase. Stunky lets out a loud yell and releases soundwaves onto Shelgon, weakening his defense. Both Pokemon loses more energy from their status conditons.
"Shelgon, use Focus Energy!" said Lincoln. Shelgon becomes surrounded by a red aura.
"Stunky, use Acid Spray!" said Chase. Stunky spits up a purple glob out of his mouth and it hits Shelgon, damaging him. Shelgon loses energy from his poisoning while Stunky loses energy from his burn.
"Shelgon, Headbutt!" said Lincoln. Shelgon leaps at Stunky and rams him, landing a critical hit and sending him flying into Chase, unconscious, knocking him to the ground and making him drop Shauna's Venusaurite; it rolls to Lincoln's foot, and he picks it up.
"I'll be taking this back." said Lincoln.
"Lincoln!" Lincoln hears Shauna call out. He looks to see his friends and the police officer running over to him. The police officer sees Chase on the ground.
"That's Chase all right." said the police officer. Lincoln walks to Shauna and holds out her Venusaurite.
"Here's your Venusaurite back, Shauna." said Lincoln.
"Thank you." said Shauna, taking her Venusaurite.
Moments later, the police officer was putting Chase in handcuffs.
"Thank you, kids; me and the rest of the police force will try to return all the stolen Mega Stones to their rightful owners." said the police officer. He then takes a pokeball he had in his pocket. "And I'll release this Stunky back to the wild; hope the next person who captures it will be a good person." He pushes Chase away.
"Let's get going, everyone." said Lincoln. As they walked through the cave, Shauna kisses Lincoln on the cheek, making him blush.
"Thank you for getting my Venusaurite back, Lincoln." said Shauna.
"No problem." replied Lincoln. He and the others continue walking down Reflection Cave.
Lincoln and his friends have put a thief's reign to an end. Now Lincoln and his friends continue on towards Shalour City where Lincoln's next gym battle awaits.
