Hey, how is everyone doing? It's been a little bit. Either way, here is a new chapter I did want to say Between the Christmas 2023 and Christmas 2024 I managed to pass a great milestone in writing. (At least for me) I wrote just a bit over 415k words in a year. Which is great! But I hope you all enjoy this chapter, let me know your thoughts. -EG

P.S. The reason there have been no updates in the last two months, was that I was stuck on both of my stories for the sections I was working on. Just wanted to share in case anyone was curious. -EG

Chapter 20

Bell looked around, hand in hand with Ryu. It was late, and he was exhausted both physically and mentally from the day's events. 'Between telling everyone the truth and the pile of dishes we did for Mama Mia...' He sighed and really just wanted to crawl into bed. But he couldn't... not yet.

Ryu shifted slightly and he could tell she was tired as well. "Do you think they'll show up if we wait here?" Her voice was low, as it echoed slightly in the small courtyard they stood in.

"I'm not sure... I hope so, because if they did... it would make it so much easier." Bell paused, he was focusing mostly on his senses to see if he was being watched or not. He glanced up to the sky, the moon hung brightly. "I think... we should probably head back soon, it's already... what three?"

Ryu glanced up, her surprise was evident. "Oh... I didn't..."

They waited another half hour before Bell noticed he was being watched. He shifted slightly, drawing Ryu's attention. "We're being watched," Bell whispered before Ryu could ask the obvious question.

Bell's eyes flicked in the direction, but nothing could be seen. "You know..." a voice broke out of the thin night air. Neither Bell nor Ryu jumped having fully expected it. "Standing around here is a dangerous prospect." The voice was dry and almost raspy.

Bell nodded, "We know. Just didn't have any other way to contact you."

The sound of Fels sighing could be heard, which Bell didn't even know how that was possible considering his skeletal form. "Well? Is there something you need?"

Bell nodded, "I... needed to ask about... Them." Bell closed his eyes for a second, "Tomorrow... or I guess later today, my Familia is re-entering the dungeon as a full group. I was wanting to know... to meet them."

The sound of something shifting caught Bell's attention, and then the explosion of fog happened. Bell wanted to sigh, he really didn't have the energy for such secrecy right now. But when Fels grabbed his arm he followed all the same, his hand tugging Ryu.

The sound of moving stone, then the pure blackness of a tunnel. "They started to head deeper into the dungeon, and there have been some unrelated developments we needed to let you know about."

Bell paused as he walked down the familiar tunnel, Ryu's hand gripped his a little tighter, "What sort of developments?" Ryu asked, the lack of energy was obvious to Bell.

Fels was silent for a minute as they walked, "How far and for how long were you planning on going into the dungeon?"

Bell took a moment to think, "At least to the water capital. I... want to thank Marie again for everything she had done."

Fels nodded in understanding. "I see." But he didn't elaborate, "When we get to Lord Ouranos' chamber, I will depart and retrieve an Occulus for you. So you don't have to stand around waiting if you really need us."

The end of the tunnel came into view, "We understand." Bell whispered, truthfully Fels was showing a significant amount of trust leaving two adventurers with Ouranos undefended.

"Besides, Lord Ouranos has several questions for the pair of you. But for you especially Bell... after what Goddess Hestia told us." Fels whispered, tapping his gloved hand on the wall with a pulse of magic.

The wall slid away to reveal the chamber of the sky god with the tiered platform and Ouranos eyeing them as they entered.

"Children of Hestia, what is the cause for being here this late?" Ouranos ordered.

Bell felt Ryu tighten at the phrasing, 'It's appropriate, even if it's a tad too early to remind Ryu of Astraea...' Bell cleared the thoughts away, "Originally we came to inquire about the state of the Xenos, but... as we walked here Fels told us you have some questions for us."

Ouranos shifted his pale eyes to follow them as they crossed the room to stand directly in front of the platform. "Excuse me. I'll be right back." Fels' voice came from farther in the chamber before Bell heard the slight rustling of fabric moving further away.

Ouranos watched them for a solid minute before eventually speaking. "Fels was right, I have a few questions for the two of you. Hestia told me that her connection... changed the last time she was in here, do you know why?"

Bell paused, "I haven't been told of any change... although... considering the change in my nature, I wouldn't be surprised if... that's to blame."

Ouranos didn't speak immediately, instead, he narrowed his eyes slightly. "I thought you... felt different. I see, I think I understand."

"What do you mean? I... I'm trying to figure out everything myself... but I can't. Goddess told me a little bit... but not much." Bell spoke, his voice clear but he noticed his hand tightening around Ryu's.

Ouranos shook his head, "I can explain the feeling. But not much else. When I look at you... there is almost a sense of familiarity. Like an urge to remember something tickling the back if my mind."

Ryu shifted, and Bell nodded. "I... understand."

Ouranos' eyes flicked towards Ryu, "Lion. I am glad you have accepted Hestia's blessing. I know it wasn't easy, and you have my condolences."

Ryu shivered slightly, "I... appreciate them..."

"You said you wanted to inquire about the Xenos. What about specifically?" Ouranos spoke, his tone holding authority that no mortal could match.

Bell bowed slightly, "Tomorrow... or rather I guess today, Hestia Familia is going to head back into the dungeon. We want to meet with them, and I want to introduce everyone to Marie."

"I understand." Ouranos tapped a finger on his throne again. "Last reports have them in the same safe house as you last met them at, although they're moving deeper as we speak."

Bell could tell Ouranos had something else to say, "Are you planning on introducing them to Tulle?"

It took a moment for Bell to remember that was Eina's last name. "I was. It'll be risky, as she is still new to adventuring. But... I have confidence we can keep her safe."

Ouranos tapped his index finger a few times, "I see. While I'm not sure it's a great idea to introduce her to them, I believe that if nothing else she will keep them a secret. We're not ready to have their existence be public knowledge yet. So much more needs to be done, more ground work..."

Bell watched as Ouranos seemed to debate something, then nodded as if a decision had been made. "After you return from your dive, return here. I have a couple of matters to discuss."

Bell and Ryu gave a small bow, "I... have one thing I need to ask. I... obtained a Familia Emblem with the express instructions to transfer everything they own to Hestia Familia. Considering... who it is, I didn't want to burden the main guild with it. As without Eina there... they seem to be struggling a little."

Ouranos watched him, "Who's Emblem?"

Bell took a breath and reached into a pocket of his brown jacket, and simply held out the Zeus Familia Emblem. Ouranos' eyes widened fractionally, "That's..."

Bell shifted slightly, "I... also learned a fair bit while I was away. This was left for me. Is there any way you can help without the entire city finding out a symbol of God Zeus has made its way into the city?" Bell bowed, his body at a forty-five-degree angle.

Ouranos seemed to think for a long period of time. "I'll see what I can do. I know of a few members of the guild that can do this done without spreading word."

.

.

.

Bell sat on a bench, Ryu to his right, his hand in hers. They stared up at the clear night sky, the stars shining brilliantly. Ever since the Ishtar Familia was destroyed, and the red light district inactive, the stars seemed to shine all the more beautifully.

Bell had the Occulus in the pouch in his hip and he had given the Zeus Familia Emblem to Fels. Bell felt exhausted, but he was at peace simply starring at the night sky with Ryu.

"Bell..." Ryu whispered, her head resting against his.

"Yes?" Bell responded, squeezing Ryu's hand slightly. He could see the slight blush on Ryu's cheeks as he waited.

Minutes passed as nothing was said, but Bell didn't mind. "When... is your birthday?" Ryu eventually whispered, he could tell that wasn't what Ryu had wanted to ask or say.

Bell paused and thought for a moment, "I believe it's... about 2 weeks give or take"

Ryu stiffened in surprise, "So soon?" Bell nodded but remained silent. "T...two weeks... I... can work... with that." Ryu whispered, her voice was so quiet Bell could only barely hear it.

Bell looked around again, it was starting to grow cold. He guessed there might be a chance of snow in a week or two.

"B...Bell... I... must confess... something." Ryu fidgeted slightly, Bell only squeezed her hand reassuringly as she took a couple of breaths. "Bet...ween... Ast...raea and G...Goddess Hestia..." He could see the light blush she had erupt into a full crimson, even her ears were crimson.

"Th...ey both... talked about... c...c...child...ren..." Her voice was halting, the embarrassment was evident and the moment Bell realized what she said heat exploded on his face.

Bell froze as those words rang through his mind. "I..." Ryu whispered, her voice tinged with the embarrassment that showed on her cheeks and ears. "M...may...be..."

Bell took a deep breath in and then slowly released it, he could feel the heat radiating off his partner. "R...Ryu... w...when the ti...me comes... I... would w...welcome the poss...ibility to... have a child..."

Ryu leaned heavily on him after he spoke. The idea of potentially having children in the future was something he never truly considered. A part of that he knew was because he was still young, despite everything that had happened. Another part was, that he never felt he would really... have the opportunity to.

He felt Ryu shiver next to him, and in an embarrassing move he shifted further towards the edge of the bench. "Here... why... don't... you lie down... for a... moment?"

He glanced to see Ryu's already crimson face turn even darker. "B...B...B...Bell th...at..."

A small smirk showed, "Y...you didn't seem to mind... before... besides... I'm... fairly co...nfident we are alone."

Ryu hesitated momentarily, then shyly lowered her head, and laid down.

X

Ryu shivered her eyes closed, the public display of her receiving a lap pillow from Bell was almost too much. But she trusted Bell when he said they were alone, so she decided to indulge in the moderately lewd action.

Her mind couldn't help but flash back to their conversation about children. She tried her best to clear her mind, but the firm pillow on the back of her head fought against her attempts.

She wanted to open her eyes, to see those ruby eyes sparkling with the stars above but the thought was almost unbearable. So she took a deep breath and tried to let some of the tension ebb away from her body. After five deep breaths, she felt some of the tension leave her body.

"We... really... should be... heading back... it's already... so late." Ryu whispered, each rapid pulse of her heart caused the heat in her cheeks to renew. She couldn't explain why, but despite the embarrassment from the action she was committing and the previous conversation they had, she found herself relaxing.

All the exhaustion of the day caught up to her and she nearly fell asleep, but she fought the urge knowing it wasn't yet time.

"True... especially if we want to leave earlier tomorrow," Bell spoke, but he didn't move to get up. Instead, Ryu felt his hand rubbing the top of her head. "Ryu... do you think... I made the right choice... to push for Eina... to join us to the middle floors and deeper?"

Ryu didn't respond immediately, simply enjoying the sensation of having her scalp rubbed. After a handful of seconds, she spoke. "It... might be a bit reckless. But between your skill, and everyone else, I think... she'll be safe. Plus... this is a great opportunity for her to gain some valuable excilia."

Ryu felt the hand still being held shift, and lower onto her chest just above her heart. Still, she refused to open her eyes, "I... know logically... but I can't help but think it's a terrible idea. Maybe..." she heard Bell sigh, "Maybe it's... because of my own first dive to floor 18... and how that went."

Ryu opened her eyes and looked at Bell. "Things... are different now. There will be two level fives, three level twos, not to mention the numerous other advantages the party will have." Ryu shifted slightly, "Trust in yourself a little more. We'll just keep her and Haruhime in the center of the formation."

Bell paused then glanced up again. "You know... Haruhime can level at any moment. We've just been holding off until her other stats grew a little more. But... maybe she should get an update and we decide from there..."

Ryu paused, she knew how fast others could grow when under Bell. She'd continued to gain excilia as they traveled back from her practicing magic and sparring. "With... your ability to help others grow... it might be best to wait."

She was silently thankful they were off the embarrassing subject she had brought up. But, even then she couldn't help but replay the teasing memories.

.

.

.

An hour passed, and with each minute that passed grew harder and harder to resist the urge to sleep. Especially with the soothing ruffling of her hair and the warmth that seeped into her from the physical contact. When she thought she couldn't resist the urge to sleep anymore she forced herself to sit up. Much to her disappointment.

"I do suppose we have been out here for far too long," Bell whispered, his eyes were closed as he rested his head against the back of the bench.

Ryu sighed, then forced herself to stand. "Right..."

Her hand still intertwined with his, and she pulled Bell to his feet. "Alright... alright." Bell murmured as stood, "You know... it might be nice... to cuddle under the stars."

Ryu felt heat enter her cheeks, Bell started chuckling there shortly after. This only caused the heat to amplify.

.

.

.

Ryu glanced over at Bell, his face looked so peaceful as he had just fallen asleep. She couldn't help the smile showing on her face as she nudged a tiny bit closer, breathing out a quiet breath she closed her eyes to sleep.

Sleep didn't come immediately, despite her nearly falling asleep on Bell's lap. Several thoughts passed through her mind. How they broke nearly every rule for an elf's romance, how happy she was despite the recent events, how despite everything she tried to do. How he didn't let her make that mistake, the regret of that played through her mind just as much as Astraea's fate and a part of her felt terrible about that.

"Why..." She whispered, "Why... are those two things... equal in my mind... shouldn't..." She stopped speaking as Bell shifted slightly, pulling her closer. The half-inch that separated them vanished as she welcomed the tightening embrace.

She sat there in silence, the self-loathing that started building began crumbling away. The warmth and kindness Bell radiated even while he slept, overwhelmed her self-pity. She breathed a soft sigh and closed her eyes again letting her head rest again Bell.

The soft rhythmic beats of his heart helped form a polyrhythm with her own, as she began to fall asleep. She didn't try to fight it, like had so many times in the past.

Instead, she welcomed it. The world of nothing and everything.

.

.

.

Ryu woke with a start, the repeated knocking on the door forced her mind to consciousness. Bell's eyes were already open, "I know the two of you were out late, but breakfast will be ready in a few minutes." Hestia's voice once again passed through the door.

Bell opened his mouth to speak, coughed slightly then spoke. "Alright!"

After a moment, Ryu could hear the sound of footsteps retreating from the door. "I was hoping they would wait a bit longer. You looked so peaceful." Bell whispered.

Ryu blushed slightly but still nodded. "I... it was before I... fell asleep."

"Oh? Did you have some trouble falling asleep? W...was my lap that comfortable... that you couldn't sleep?" Bell had a small blush, but his teasing caused her blush to expand slightly.

"I... was just thinking. About... what happened... after I learned of Astraea... and what happened to Astraea..." She took a deep breath, and Bell squeezed her slightly pulling her however slightly closer.

"Ryu..." Bell whispered.

"It's fine. I'm... just trying to accept everything. Not to mention... how we've broken every tradition for elves..." Ryu tried to change the subject.

Bell blushed lightly at that, but shook his head, "Do...don't try to change the subject."

Ryu sighed and shifted her head enough to look directly into Bell's eyes. "Bell... I... while not great with everything that happened, I'm doing better than I expected. I expect to dwell on my mistake and Astraea for... a while."

Bell let a small smile show, she felt him lean down slightly and rest his chin against the top of her head. "Alright. I believe you." Again he squeezed ever so slightly tighter.

"B...Bell. We... need to head down for breakfast. If you... I might not be able to... leave this comfort." Ryu whispered, her voice was stumbling but level. She fully wanted to give into his embrace and fall back to sleep.

Bell sighed, "No. You're right."

Ryu could see the reluctance as he loosened his grip. Ryu almost started squirming closer but forced herself to pull away slightly. Her eyes widened as Bell leaned forward, a slight blush, and kissed her.

X

Hestia watched the entire Familia leave. She had finished a round of last-second updates for everyone, there were a good number of increases especially with the aid of Bell being nearby. (1)

Her finger twitched as she put a piece of cotton over her finger to help stop the bleeding. She glanced at the clock that stood tall in the sitting room near the front door. "They should be…" The sound of a bell caught her attention, she couldn't help but smile slightly.

She opened the door and saw two figures standing at the main entrance. 'Hephaestus…'

X

The Hestia Familia stood outside Babel, Ryu stood next to Bell while he double-checked everything they would need. "Sharpened weapons, Rations, Supplies for camping on floor 18..." He glanced around at everyone, "Right. This is a simple dive, we are going to go only down to the Water Capital. This will take a couple of days, so is everyone ready?"

Everyone nodded, and Ryu once again found herself looking at the armor Bell was wearing. It was subtly different, fortunately, Welf either didn't bother or didn't have enough time to paint it with the accents of green and blue.

Instead, it was still the silver-gray colors, veins of red wrapped around the chestplate. His shoulders were protected by overlapping bronze platings as were the grieves. He wore his standard black battle undercloth, his Undine Battle torn and shredded beyond use during the expedition. His daggers were placed on his hips, one white one black.

Ryu glanced down at her own gear, it was a duplicate of the gear she had worn before. It was the last undamaged set she had, 'I really... need to get some more gear soon.'

She placed a hand on the hilt of the sword Welf had made for her, it was only temporary but it was close in dimensions to Alf's Lumina. Instead, it was made of metal, half Mythril half steel. It wouldn't work as effectively at transferring her magic. But having an actual sword felt good to Ryu.

"Right. So the plan." Bell started, looking at all the members. "Eina, Lili and Haruhime. I want the three of you to cover the descent down to floor 10. This will be an opportunity to gain some more experience. Afterward, Welf and Mikoto will take over the main combat roles. Eina, use your magic to support and attack from range. Ryu and I will act as guards making sure nothing happens."

'Smart. He knows about his skill now, so he can more effectively plan potential growth opportunities for members.' Ryu thought.

"Eina. Did you get your status updated last night?" Bell asked, Ryu could tell it was mostly just to make sure she could be as safe as possible.

"Y...Yes. My numbers went up a decent amount, but nothing else new." Eina responded, seemingly taken aback by Bell taking charge of the situation.

"Good. Good." Bell took a deep breath, "Right. If you all are ready."

.

.

.

Ryu watched as Eina charged the closest ant, Lili aimed with her crossbow and fired and the shot landed between the plates of armor temporarily stunning it.

Eina thrust down, her new rapier piercing its head killing it instantly. She noticed Welf flinch at the flexing of the blade.

Haruhime approached a quiver of arrows attached to the sash around her hip and a bow held in her hand.

Ryu couldn't help but feel slightly bad for the Renard, she had no talent with any weapons apparently. According to Bell, the only weapon she could use without harming herself or others was the bow.

Haruhime turned to see Ryu staring at her, she gave a small smile and then turned to Eina. "I can hear three more coming." Ryu saw the long fox-like ears wiggling, and Ryu heard them as well.

Haruhime took a deep breath and pulled an arrow, nearly causing all the arrows to fall out of the quiver. She ignored it, let the breath out, and took another in, then drew the bow as far back as it would go. The moment an ant rounded the corner, she let the breath out and the arrow flew at the same time. But she missed, Haruhime's ears drooped slightly.

.

.

.

This happened over and over again, every time Haruhime would notice an enemy due to her keen hearing, but when she released an arrow she would miss more often than she would hit. Every time, Haruhime would sag slightly but she would ready another arrow all the same.

X

Eina gasped as they entered the 18th floor. It was peaceful, almost too peaceful. But she was so absorbed with a sight she never thought she would see. Her mind struggled for a moment to accept she was so far underground, yet the crystals in the ceiling shone like it was mid-day. The way the forest was spread out before her was nearly picturesque.

After a second she heard some chuckling, a light blush tented her shorter ears and she turned to see every member of Hestia Familia watching her. "That's the reason we wanted you to go first. So you can see the floor in all its beauty." Bell spoke, he had a smile on his face as he took several steps closer to stand next to her.

Bell glanced over the forest, "I had a similar reaction when I was stable enough to walk and truly see the floor."

"I've... seen illustrations and read descriptions... but actually seeing it in person, with my own two eyes... it's breathtaking. Hard to believe we're so deep underground..." Eina rambled for a few moments, she was tired and her mind burned from using her magic exclusively on the middle floors, but in that singular moment, she didn't care.

"Well. Are you all coming? We've got to set up camp." Lili complained as she started marching towards a deeper section of floor 18.

"Ah... Miss Lili..." Haruhime muttered as she followed Lili.

.

.

.

Eina slowly lowered herself into the cold stream of water, she couldn't help but let an involuntary shiver out. She glanced over and saw Haruhime, Lili, and Mikoto already in the deep stream.

They had already set up camp, and after a long hike down they had agreed to take a bath. Eina noticed Lili constantly looking around and observing the trees.

"Is... everything alright, Lili?" Eina asked quietly.

"Lili's just keeping an eye for that peeping rabbit," Lili responded, her eyes shifting from one branch to another.

Eina flushed, "Surely... you don't mean..."

Mikoto twitched slightly and closed her eyes. "They aren't anywhere near here..."

Haruhime ears flicked from side to side. "Wh...what do you... mean, 'Peeping... Rabbit.'..."

"The first time we all came down to floor 18, we were bathing with Loki Familia... and Master Bell fell into the stream from a high branch," Lili muttered.

"That's a bit harsh Lili-dono. You know Lord Hermes took him there without Bell-dono realizing..." Mikoto explained in an attempt to save some of Bell's honor.

Eina's light flush grew, imagining the scene. She glanced at Haruhime who was completely crimson and was tottering back and forth slightly. After a few seconds, she fell to one side, submerging completely in the stream.

"H...Haruhime-dono!" Mikoto half shouted in surprise. She reached over and pulled Haruhime out of the water. Then sighed, "She... passed out."

X

Bell paced back and forth, he was glad that the descent went smoothly. Truth be told he had expected his Savior skill to activate, but he was truly relieved that it hadn't been needed.

It felt strange to be willingly in the dungeon again. His time on the deep floors had forced his mind to change slightly on how he viewed the dungeon. He always knew it was dangerous, but now... he really believed that to be the case. Even if that situation was a bit extreme, it had caused the notion 'to never let your guard down', to be burned into his nerves while in the dungeon.

He glanced up at the ceiling and he remembered for a second the Black Goliath breaking through the beautiful crystals hanging above them. He couldn't help but release a small breath.

"Bell." A voice broke his meandering thoughts.

He glanced over and found it was Ryu, "Sorry... just thinking. What's on your mind?"

She reached out slightly but stopped herself after a few inches. "I... was wondering if you'd accompany me? I want to check on the grave."

Bell understood, "Of course." He had immediately agreed, he glanced over to Welf who was looking at Eina's rapier. "We'll be back soon."

Welf simply waved his hand, "Don't have too much fun... really did she have to strain the flexibility..."

Bell chuckled but blushed slightly at his comment. They walked from the clearing they set up camp in, and started into the forest proper. After several steps, he held out his hand and Ryu accepted.

.

.

.

They walked in peaceful silence for nearly twenty minutes, they picked flowers along the way not needing to communicate.

The clearing came into view, and what they saw caused Ryu to freeze. The mound that represented the Astraea Familia's grave was pelted with heavy crystals from the ceiling. Five massive clusters of crystal surrounded the mound. The weapons were disheveled but still standing proudly.

"How... hadn't the crystals vanished yet? Everything else from that battle has been..." Ryu whispered, squeezing Bell's hand tightly.

"I'm... not sure. It's strange but I'm glad they're still here." Bell's voice was a low whisper. He felt Ryu nod and followed as she moved towards the mound.

They each placed a flower on the makeshift grave, "I... hope you are all well. I hope... A...Ast...raea is there with you all. Please continue to watch over me. I... miss you all." Ryu spoke softly, her voice cracking slightly.

Bell remained silent but hoped they all were resting peacefully. After several minutes of showing respect to the fallen, Ryu raised her head with a fresh handful of tears clinging to her eyelids.

She rubbed at them and reached out for Bell's hand again. "Come-on... I'm sure they are all done by now..." Ryu whispered, and Bell was sure even that was a struggle at the moment.

Bell nodded, "Alright..." He gave one more respectful bow to the grave.

.

.

.

Bell sat at the small fire Welf had set up, despite it having been an easier time descending the floors Bell still felt tired. Ryu leaned against his side, her head resting against his shoulder. 'She seemed to have dozed off.' Bell thought.

Every other member of Hestia Familia was already in bed, except for Welf, who seemed to be looking through the supplies for something. Nearly twenty minutes passed and Welf was still looking for something.

"Everything alright?" Bell whispered.

Welf shifted slightly, "I was doing checks on our equipment... and I can't find the bow or the arrows Haruhime was using."

Welf glanced over at Bell, and he started chuckling. Bell blushed slightly because he knew why. Ryu had shifted slightly, now wrapping Bell in a small hug.

Bell heard it, barely. The sound of a thump, like something striking wood. After a second he heard it again. Then again, this repeated twenty times before the rhythm stopped. 'Surely that's not...'

After a minute, the sound continued. Bell sighed lightly and gently shook Ryu.

Ryu's eyes snapped open, her sky-blue eyes meeting his. He saw a slight blush show, "S...sorry I didn't..."

"It's no problem. I... have a small favor to ask you. Can you check the tent the others are sharing? See if Haruhime is in there?" Bell whispered, "I haven't seen her, and her equipment isn't here."

Welf eyed him slightly, "You don't think..." Welf muttered before standing tall and hefting his sword.

Ryu nodded, sitting up straight. "I can."

"Oh. If they are asleep, don't worry about waking the others. If she's not in there... I have an idea of where she went." Bell whispered, and Ryu nodded.

After a few seconds, Ryu returned shaking her head in the negative. At that Bell stood, and glanced at the dark crystalline sky above. "I'll... be right back. Go ahead and get some rest, the both of you."

Before either could respond, Bell started moving quickly. He knew it was unreasonable to ask them to get some rest, if they didn't and chose to simply wait there he wouldn't blame them.

.

.

.

The sound of thumping grew closer with each passing step, he knew Ryu could probably hear the sound as well but Bell was just barely able to when he heard it.

He passed by a trio of trees, and what he saw made him want to sigh. Haruhime stood tall, her back straight. Even her ears stood straight as she drew back the bow she was holding.

In the distance, Bell could see the crudely drawn shape of an imp on a large tree about 150 feet away from where she stood. Haruhime released a breath, and the arrow soared through the sky... impaling the tree... a foot above the imp.

He saw Haruhime's ears shift downward, after a moment she shook her head, drew another arrow, and readied herself.

Bell was about to step out and stop her but he remembered the argument they had and how that ended. So Bell sighed silently and waited.

He saw Haruhime wince slightly, as she drew an arrow back again but her emerald eyes stayed open watching the target she had lined up. After a second of holding, she released the arrow, this time the arrow hit the target. But due to the natural curve of the tree, it bounced off flying deeper into the woods.

Haruhime's tail sank slowly, and seeing this caused Bell to want nothing more than to comfort her. But again, he held himself back. That was until he noticed a detail, as she lowered her draw hand he saw the tips of her fingers were starting to leak a little blood.

'From... nonstop practice...' Bell realized Haruhime didn't have the time to build up her endurance. So the higher quality bow string was actually damaging her slightly as she used it.

"Haruhime!" Bell half shouted, unable to watch any longer.

Haruhime jumped in shock as the arrow she was holding slipped out of her grip. "M...Master Bell."

Bell walked quickly over to her, reaching into his leg pouch and pulled out a vial. The thick ruby liquid splashed in a reinforced glass vial.

Haruhime noticed and tucked her hand behind her back. She lowered her head slightly as if waiting to be reprimanded.

"Let me see your hand. If you're going to practice... having your hand damaged isn't going to help. If anything... it will probably harm any progress you would make." Bell half ordered, holding out his hand after uncorking the vial.

"Mas...ter Bell. This is..." Haruhime tried to come up with some excuse. "It doesn't hurt."

Bell didn't even have to use the innate feeling he had to tell she was lying. "Haruhime... listen... I saw how you winced when you drew that last arrow. I saw... the damage to your fingers."

Bell took a deep breath, "Listen. I don't blame you for wanting to get stronger. Wanting to help protect everyone. But... I also can't sit back and watch as you harm yourself, so let me do this much. I... can't help you with the bow but I... with my skill... maybe that..."

Haruhime still hesitated, but after a moment she held out her hand and Bell noticed it was trembling slightly. "Master Bell... I... I'm sorry for worrying you. It's just... on the way down... I truly understood just how... inadequate I am."

X

Haruhime flinched as Bell gently tapped her forehead, "Never. Say. That." After a moment, she felt his hand gently grab her wrist as a thick drop landed on her index, middle, and ring fingers.

The sensation of the skin moving to reconnect caused her to want to squirm but she resisted the urge.

"Ma..ster Be...ll." She whispered, her head lowering slightly. But she was ignored as Bell looked over the fingers before letting another drop fall onto them.

After a few seconds, her hand no longer hurt. "That should do it," Bell whispered before letting her wrist go, recorking the potion.

Bell sighed before turning to face Haruhime directly. Having Bell so close caused her a muted discomfort. But still, she was so glad at how his nature hadn't changed.

"M..." She was about to speak but was cut off by Bell.

"Haruhime... I want to say I understand how you feel. It's... probably similar to how I felt when I first started. Getting saved, then..." Bell sighed but after a moment he continued. "Listen, much like how you feel... I don't have much talent."

"Don't. Don't say I'm wrong." Haruhime was just about to say just that. Bell continued, "I've worked so... so hard to be even competent. I've been knocked out... innumerous times. But it's never really enough."

Haruhime shifted her tail slightly, she wanted to hug Bell but forced herself to refrain. "I won't stop you from practicing. If anything I encourage it. I... don't want any member of my family to feel... inadequate."

Haruhime's tail wagged slightly like she had just been given justification for how hard she pushed herself. "But..." the tail stopped mid motion at that word.

Bell took a deep breath, "But... I don't want them to harm themselves in the process. Especially while in the dungeon."

Haruhime lowered her head, "I... understand... Master Bell."

She noticed Bell started to raise his arm, but hesitated. After a brief moment, he simply smiled. "Good. Now, you can go ahead and practice a bit more. But I'm gonna watch."

Haruhime's tail flicked in surprise, and then a very light blush showed. "M...Master Bell... that..."

Bell shook his head, "Either you can return to camp with me now, or you can practice some more and return with me later."

Haruhime shifted uncomfortably, but after a moment nodded. "I... understand."

Bell nodded and took a handful of steps backward, giving her all the space she needed.

Haruhime shifted, and readied her bow, 'Right. Remember what Lady Mikoto said.'

With a practiced hand, she drew an arrow out of the quiver she held. She noticed Bell watching her, a calm reassurance. 'With... Master Bell watching. I have to... I... can do this.'

She inhaled deeply, as she pulled back on the string of the bow. The arrow swam in her vision as she lined up the target with the target etched into a tree far away.

There were two marks on the target she wanted to hit at least once. One was the head of the imp, the other was where the magic stone was located.

'Imagine where you want the arrow to fly, and release it with a single breath.' Haruhime rehearsed again in her mind. She held the arrow at full draw for a second, 'I can...'

With a release of breath, the arrow was sent flying towards the goblin. She had aimed for the magic stone. The arrow punctured the bark, embedding a couple of inches into the dungeon tree.

A finger width off the stone.

Her tail wagged happily for a moment, "Good work, now try again." Bell's voice snapped her out of her temporarily enraptured state. She nodded and drew another arrow. "You can do this. I believe in you." Bell spoke just loud enough for her sharp fox ears to pick up.

'He... believes in me...' Haruhime shifted, drawing another arrow. She drew the bow to full length again and aimed for the center of the imp's forehead, and she released the deep breath she took.

.

.

.

Haruhime walked beside Bell, her hand was aching, her arms shook slightly, and her back burned, but she knew the pain was temporary. It was proof of her practice.

"Seven out of ten arrows landed close to where you were aiming, that's amazing," Bell spoke softly as they moved.

The praise caused her tail to shift happily, "It's an improvement. I... can't truly rely on my aim when someone is near the enemy... but it's a... great feeling."

Her ears twitched slightly, "Mas...ter Bell if I… one thing... One thing I really wanted... it would be some form... of offensive magic. It might render this practice invalid... but I... would like to have some... use for my mind besides my sorcery."

Bell shifted slightly, "If I remember correctly... Renards have a strong connection to magic. Often getting unique or rare abilities..." Bell placed a hand on his chin, as if in thought.

Haruhime didn't respond, instead, she let Bell think as they walked slowly towards the camp.

"I'm sure if..." She heard Bell whisper, and after a moment he sighed. "I can't think of an easy solution, I mean... I only have one magic myself so... I really can't say much... and I only got that through a Grimoire."

Haruhime's tail stiffened slightly, "A... Grimoire. I know Lady Aisha... took one of Hermes' and... that's how I got my second spell."

Bell flinched slightly but nodded. "Listen, if you truly wish to get some form of offensive magic… truly deep down wish for it, I know you can. It... might be slightly against your kind nature... but I know you can."

Haruhime's tail shifted without her conscious control, only noticing it when it hit a cluster of tree leaves. She forced her tail to stop, and after a second she took a deep breath. "Thank you... for believing in me."

Welf shifted, he hadn't gone to bed yet despite his desperate urge of wanting to. Ryu sat staring at the small fire they had used to make dinner earlier.

"So, I have an idea for your sword..." Welf tried to start a conversation, although it felt a bit awkward. He knew she didn't really care about his lineage, but the idea of casually speaking to an elf made him uncomfortable.

"Oh? I'm curious now." Ryu whispered, her eyes flicking towards him. It had been nearly an hour since Bell took off to find Haruhime.

"Well, if we can manage to get a few materials. Some... more expensive than others, I might be able to make it from a Sacred Tree mixed with Mythril." Welf looked around quickly, finding Lili's bag.

After a moment, he stood and opened it searching for an item, it took a second but he pulled a single slip of paper from the small stockpile she always kept.

Returning to his seat, Ryu eyed him suspiciously. "Don't tell Lil' Lili. She gets... temperamental when someone touches her bag."

Ryu remained silent, Welf ignored the silence pulling out a small branch from the fire. Putting the small branch out, he cooled it by waving it around. Using the burnt piece like a sketching charcoal he had used so many times in the past he began to draw on the page.

"You see, with the wooden fragments you gave me, I figured I could use that as a base." It was an extremely rough sketch of the idea, can't expect perfection from an unwilling branch.

"And if we make this part and this out of mythril, I believe we can fuse the natural wood and metal. All that is required is a strong enough binding agent, as well as more material from a sacred tree..." Welf shifted the page so Ryu could see it more properly.

Ryu looked to glance at the proportion of the blade over, "I see..." She paused for a moment, "You said... you might need my help with the forging process... will you tell me what you had in mind yet?"

Welf flinched slightly, "I don't... mind. I have no idea if it's going to work... but I want to try... let me take a step backward for a moment."

X

Ryu listened to Welf rambling, but she remembered what he had said what felt like a year ago now. She was worried about Bell and Haruhime, but she knew they would be alright on this floor. So she tried her best to focus on the smith in front of her.

His hesitation to explain caused her to worry slightly, "Let me take a step backward for a moment." He exclaimed.

After he took a deep breath, he continued. "My... Magic weapons, they require two things to create them. Normally... if a smith wanted to make a magic sword, they would need the Enigma Developmental Ability. Which is rare, especially in Orario. I've heard it's slightly more common in countries like Altena..."

Welf shook his head, "Getting off topic. That allows a smith to imbue the 'magic weapon' with their essence, making it have powerful capabilities... but extremely fragile."

Ryu nodded along, this was all simple enough to understand. "I found... during our last expedition... how I can create the unbreakable swords, but it requires my essence." Again Ryu nodded along, not understanding what this would have to do with her weapon.

Welf fidgeted slightly, "I want... to try to... channel another's essence into the crafting process... to see if that's even possible. The main reason I wouldn't be able to practice it beforehand... the materials are ridiculously expensive to make a magic sword. Requiring heaps of Mythril, and other precious resources."

Ryu understood, "The reason why you are willing to test with this new weapon... is because you think the materials can handle both essences if something goes wrong?"

Welf nodded and breathed out a breath of relief. "Yes. The process... for when I forge the blade it will use my Blacksmith Developmental Ability and my bloodline skill. Not to mention portions of my own blood. There is a chance... the... spirit blood in my veins... might react violently to an elf's blood."

Ryu leaned back and stared at the dark crystalline sky above, and she sighed, "This... this sounds idiotic... like it has an extreme risk to reward potential." She glanced over at the smith, his eyes twinkling with determination. Like his pride as a smith felt it was possible.

"Before I agree, what do you think the outcome would be?" Ryu's mind was willing to accept the risk, but before she decided she needed to know.

Welf hesitated, but spoke after a handful of seconds, "I... it's hard to say for sure... I think... this is the process for how Bell's knife was made. Using parts of Goddess Hestia, I've asked her in the past... but she always evades the question. Now I'm nowhere near the abilities of Goddess Hephaestus... but I... think it's possible."

Welf shook his head, "But that doesn't answer your question... I think it might be possible to bind a weapon to a single wielder. So only that person... and I guess the smith that made it, to be able to use it."

"I understand." Ryu spoke quickly, "I... would be willing to risk this."

Welf's eyes glimmered slightly, and he lowered his head in a half bow. "Thank you for putting your trust in me that this is possible."

X

Bell emerged from the forest lining, to see Welf half bowing to Ryu. "What... is going on?" He asked hesitantly.

Haruhime took a step to his left, "You think he's begging her to take care of you?" Haruhime's tail flicked to the side, "Could be like something out of a storybook. A fallen noble... begging a powerful fairy to protect their brother..."

Bell first glanced at Haruhime then at Ryu and Welf. "I..."

"Or maybe..." Haruhime continued. Her tail swished faster, "Maybe he's asking for Ryu to take care of you like in a... marriage... con..text..."

Ryu flushed at that comment, Welf immediately jumped at the sound of the conversation they were having. "N...No it's nothing like... that!" Ryu half shouted.

Welf stood and took a step away, "She's right. Besides, I already gave my blessings when you two returned."

Ryu's head snapped towards Welf then to Bell, "Wait... what?"

Haruhime giggled, her tail continuing to swish rapidly. "Please... try not to be too loud.. they are sleeping." She half whispered.

Ryu covered her mouth, her crimson ears only stood out more in the small flickering fire. Bell chuckled, "Alright. Alright. Everyone get to bed already. It's late." It felt strange that he had to be the voice of reason.

Haruhime giggled lightly, "Alright Master Bell. It is getting extremely late. What... only four hours until morning?"

Welf jumped on the change of topic, "Something like that." He then glanced at Bell, and then at Ryu. "Hmm... are the two of you going to sleep in the appropriate tents... or are you both going to sleep outside cuddling under the crystals? I wouldn't mind having a tent for myself."

.

.

.

Bell cuddled up against Ryu. His mind was tired, but his body was fine. After all, it had been everyone else doing all the work while he and Ryu worked as risk protection.

The crystals overhead twinkled like the night sky. It was strange how this worked to Bell, 'How does the dungeon know?'

He sighed and ignored the idle thought. "Still... funny that he guessed exactly what we were planning..." Bell whispered a hint of amusement in his voice.

Ryu nodded, her head resting against his shoulder. But she didn't say anything.

His eyes were growing heavy, and the warmth to his side was more comfortable than almost any blanket possible. The warmth helped to push his body to sleep.

.

.

.

Bell's eyes snapped open to giggling, in particular, it was a Haruhime's voice. His face flushed, as he looked around. Haruhime was looking in their direction, as the crystals started changing color illuminating the dungeon floor.

The sudden change in light caused Ryu to flinch in his arms, he felt Ryu bury her face farther so she could block out the sudden light. "R...Ryu it's time to wake up." He frantically whispered as Haruhime turned away, her tail flicking back and forth.

Ryu ignored his words and fell asleep with a face of absolute contentment. He could see several people moving around the camp, 'They all know... but it's... embarrassing...' Bell thought he could only imagine how embarrassed Ryu would be when she woke up and found out that she had been seen nuzzling closer.

"Ryu," Bell whispered again, shaking her slightly. Still, she didn't wake, Bell spied the red hair of Welf glance in their direction, and an evil smirk grew on his face before he returned to whatever he was doing.

Bell sighed, and he gave up. If only Haruhime saw, they might escape teasing. But if Welf saw there was no doubt in his mind, the teasing would continue.

.

.

.

It took five more minutes of soft whispering and small shaking to wake Ryu up properly. She had a slight blush on her face when she heard the movements from the camp.

"Oh... no..." Ryu whispered.

X

Ryu's ear twitched as she heard the movement around the camp, she couldn't believe she had slept in so much. Not to mention, probably having been seen cuddling up to her love. She felt her ears starting to burn.

"Take a deep breath. Only Haruhime saw you nuzzling closer." Bell whispered.

Ryu took a deep breath before she realized what was said. Her blush exploded, causing Bell to half chuckle. After a split second, he covered his mouth to lessen the noise.

But the damage was done, "Are the two of you coming? It's almost time for breakfast."

Ryu flicked her eyes over to see Welf looking at them with a smirk on his face. For the first time, she wished she would've fainted from the embarrassment of being seen cuddling up to Bell. She hadn't loosened her grip on him, to the contrary she tightened slightly.

.

.

.

Ryu followed closely behind Mikoto and Welf, she knew this was a valuable chance for them to earn even more excilia, especially with Bell around this time. She remembered the party talking about the change to the dungeon layout, so they had to be extra cautious.

Every minute, Mikoto used her skill to scan the area. "This floor feels empty. I can pick up a handful of monsters, but they are spread out over a wider area." Mikoto reported.

Ryu nodded, as did Welf, Ryu held her sword out and glanced around the area. She recognized old familiar paths, but there were several other paths. The wooden walls and foliage felt off like the plants had two too many leaves.

But she held ready for anything.

"Several Battle Boars approaching and several Mad Beetles!" Mikoto shouted, darting to the side Welf followed suit both readying their weapons, each obscured by a series of foliage.

Ryu readied her temporary blade, the sword was a bit longer than her former weapon and it held a small curve. The weapon reminded her of the weapons Kaguya preferred, her eyes flicking towards Mikoto. She held a similar style, but the curve was more prominent.

She heard chanting from behind her, Eina was chanting.

"May the Glacial Freeze, by my word and blood..."

The first boar was visible, its small red beady eyes drilled into Ryu. But she ignored it, and got into a proper stance, her blade readied.

The moment the first boar got closer, Mikoto swung from the foliage and landed a deep gash in the front left leg. A moment later Welf chopped down heavily, scoring a heavy strike down on its neck. But was just shy of killing it.

"Eina aim for the path they're coming from." Lili's voice broke through the air, her Command Call skill forcing her voice to reach. "Ryu get ready to stop any that slip past them."

Ryu nodded, she knew from Bell that Lili had a sharp tactical mindset. That reminded her of Lyra, she forced the thought to the side. The boar collapsed tumbling towards her, its leg snapped from the damage Mikoto did.

With a single thrust, she pierced the skull easily.

"Destroy my enemies. Thus bringing peace to the..." Eina continued, and Ryu could feel the gathering mind for the spell.

With a swift motion, she kicked the dead boar to the side, there were four more boars visible. Again Mikoto and Welf severely injured the frontmost one causing the others to trample the injured.

Ryu inhaled deeply and slashed.

"Ancestral forest once more. Fror Gruidae!" Eina shouted, in a streak of light a frozen crane flew through the air.

The floor between the boars froze as spikes of ice shot upward damaging several legs and stomachs.

"Firebolt!" Ryu heard a shout, her eyes flicked towards Bell, and she could see a Mad Beetle blasted back with flames trailing from the center of its torso.

Welf slashed downward again, killing the second boar. She heard Haruhime take a deep breath, as a whizzing arrow flew through the air, puncturing a boar's side.

A third died when Mikoto used the extra curvature of her blade like an executioner's blade, decapitating another boar.

"Eina, start casting again," Lili ordered her voice once again piercing the chaotic sound of battle.

Again Bell shouted his magic, Ryu could feel the heat from his magic despite a few dozen paces separating them. Ryu readied herself, ignoring that warmth, she knew Bell could handle the rear guard.

Her job was to make sure nothing got past her, to get to the level 1's and Lili but also to make sure no serious harm fell upon the level 2's.

Her level 5 senses took in all the information, she wasn't completely used to the change in sensations, but she knew she could still complete her task.

.

.

.

Ryu heard Eina gasp, the 25th floor just came into view. The water capital felt very different from the last time she was on the floor.

The beauty was still prevalent, but seeing the roots of the great tree reaching down towards the stone of the walls was off. 'The roof should've been where all the roots were... did so much damage happen that the dungeon was forced to adapt?'

She shook her head as Eina took a step closer. "Wait. Don't get close to the water." Ryu spoke, she had caught some movements in the distance and she knew all too well how fast the monsters could move in the water here.

Eina stopped and retracted her forward movement. "Right... sorry it's just so..."

Ryu could see smirks from the rest of the Familia, so she let out a deep breath. Lili took the opportunity to speak, "Miss Mikoto, anything near?"

Mikoto blinked and shook her head. "Not within the range of my skill."

Bell took a step forward, "Alright. Why don't we take a ten-minute break? Everyone has been working hard, they are normally on floor 27."

It took a few moments as Bell and Ryu stood watch. Ryu's ear twitched as she heard a set of footsteps approach from behind. "Miss Ryu..." Haruhime's voice was quiet as if not wanting to disturb the deceptively peaceful environment.

"Yes?" Ryu responded, her eyes keeping track of a harpy flying in the far distance, it looked like a small grain of sand slowly floating through the air.

"Here. It's some water. I noticed you haven't drunk much since we left floor 18." Ryu glanced over towards the Renard, and she couldn't hold back a small smile.

"I... you're very observant. I appreciate it." Taking the opportunity she grabbed the flask, careful to avoid physical contact, and took a small sip.

The water was cool despite how long it had been sitting in the flask. She noticed Bell watching her for a second, when she raised an eyebrow in confusion he only gave her a small smile before looking towards the great waterfall that ran down the entire height of floors 25 to 27.

Bell raised a gauntleted hand to be level with his mouth, "We're almost to floor 27. Taking a break on 25, can you let them know?" After waiting for a second, Bell nodded, "Alright sounds good. Any chance it'll spawn today?"

After a moment, Bell grimaced. Ryu moved towards Bell, his eyes flicked towards her. "Just letting Fels know our situation and to let them know." He glanced over towards Eina, Ryu followed and saw her gaze transfixed on the beautiful and massive waterfall.

"I understand. Were you asking about the Amphisbaena?" Ryu placed a hand on her temporary weapon, rubbing the smooth pommel almost felt reassuring.

Bell nodded and Ryu noticed him rubbing his chest. "I was. He's not sure. According to the records, it's nearly time for the Amphisbaena to spawn again. But I can't be sure due to them..." He nodded over towards the rest of the Familia. "Having defeated one the dungeon spawned early. So we don't know which to judge." Bell glanced over to the Familia, "Lili, can you come over here for a second?"

Lili's head jumped at her name being called. "Of course, Master Bell." She stood, leaving her pack on the ground as she approached. "How can Lili help you?"

It took a minute to explain the predicament. Lili slumped at hearing the news, "What's your thoughts?" Bell asked quietly.

Lili was silent for a minute, "It'll be a risk. Especially with Miss Eina here." She flicked her eyes between the two level fives. "Master Welf has an ice dagger tucked away in Lili's bag, as well as the fire one he made the first time. If Lili's not mistaken, you should still have that lightning dagger as well right?"

Bell nodded as he touched the pouch at his hip. "That's correct."

Lili nodded, "It might be smart to let Miss Haruhime hold onto it. As she can focus on that after using her magic if needed. As much as she is making progress with her bow if an Amphisbaena does show up. It'll do nothing to it."

Bell nodded, "Sounds reasonable. Would you tell Haruhime to come over here and make sure Mikoto is checking things regularly?"

Lili bowed, "Of course Master Bell."

Ryu watched the exchange in silence. 'I wonder. Would these few people be enough to defeat it? Even if myself or Bell were boosted a level...'

"What's on your mind, Ryu?" Bell asked quietly as Lili started making her way back to the main party.

Ryu tilted her head, "I'm... just debating on even with a boost from Miss Haruhime... if it would be enough."

Bell smiled understandingly, "Ah. You don't know, right? She can boost multiple people now, it just takes a massive portion of her mind."

Ryu couldn't believe that, but she knew Bell wasn't lying. 'The ability to boost someone's level is such a powerful effect... if she can boost multiple people at the same time...'

"You wanted something, Master Bell?" Haruhime's voice was low. Her tail shifted slightly from side to side.

"Yes. How many people can you boost without causing a mind down?" Bell asked as he reached into his pouch.

Haruhime thought for a second, "Four. But that will nearly bottom out my mind pool. I do have a couple of mind potions." She gently patted a spot under the Goliath Cloak she wore.

"Alright, good." Bell pulled out the lightning dagger. "Take this then, and use it as needed. It's Welf's new version he gave me before we left Orario."

Haruhime's eyes widened. "Are you expecting something that would require..."

Bell nodded, "Yes and no. It's just a precaution." Bell took a breath and glanced back at the Great Waterfall. "I hope it doesn't spawn."

Ryu looked at Haruhime, and she saw her tall fox ears flick, and she knew Haruhime understood what Bell was saying.

X

Bell's mind was torn, they had already come so far. If they were to turn back now, it would be a waste besides the stones and experience the others got. But at the same time, as the captain, it was his duty to make sure his Familia was safe. But his mind was already made up. If the worst did happen, he wouldn't let anything happen to his Family.

Bell looked towards the party, everyone he needed to protect. Everyone was getting ready to get moving again. "Right, Everyone." Bell voiced, not wanting to shout too loudly

Every face turned to face him. "There is a chance the Amphisbaena will spawn. But we don't know if it'll return to its normal cycle after what happened during the expedition, or if it will go based on that as it restarts its cycle. Overall, just be prepared for the worst."

She noticed grim looks on the faces of Mikoto, Welf, and Lili. Eina was nearly panicking, which was reasonable. Haruhime's tail was fluffed out, her anxiety obvious.

"If we are careful, we can reach the destination in three hours. This will be the lineup considering the new risks. Mikoto and Welf are in front with Mikoto making sure nothing surprises us. I'll be right behind them, then Eina, Haruhime, and Lili followed by Ryu." Bell looked out at everyone, then focused on Eina. "For now, focus on staying safe and use your magic sparingly or when you're in a safe location."

Eina nodded, as she gripped the wand tightly. "Right. Let's move out everyone!"

pix25: Thanks.

Blazeburn006: First off thanks, and I do eventually want to really do something with Nina later in the story. So I gotta start working on that now. For some reason I really enjoy writing their cute scenes. As shown in this chapter a bit. I'm glad you enjoyed this version of the recap, and how it worked out.
